Brad Tursi On Turning His Real-Life Love Story Into His Most Personal Album Yet, ‘Colorado’ [Exclusive]

Brad Tursi’s second solo album, Colorado, began with a trip to a cabin in the mountains, a star-filled sky, and the woman who inspired nearly every song on the project. Out now, the 11-track collection traces the journey of falling in love, getting married, and building a life with his wife, Roxy.

The project also offers fans a deeper look into Tursi’s world, building on the vulnerability and self-reflection that was first introduced on his debut solo album, Parallel Love.

Tursi spent nearly two decades helping soundtrack other people’s lives, penning hits as a member of Old Dominion and establishing himself as one of Nashville’s most respected songwriters. But through his solo work, he’s carving out space to tell his own story, resulting in his most personal collection of songs to date.

Colorado was entirely self-produced and largely self-written. The album opens with one of Tursi’s favorite tracks, “Ms. Independent,” a song that began as a lighthearted joke between him and his then-girlfriend. While discussing her fiercely independent nature, he came up with the opening lines, noting how the woman who once preferred to be on her own had become someone who never wanted to spend another night apart. Realizing there was a song hidden in the moment, Tursi turned the idea into the perfect introduction to the album.

“I think I just started singing that first line kidding around. And then I thought to myself, actually, that’s kind of a good idea. So I ended up finishing this song. And again, I feel like just having that first song, it just tells the audience about the woman that I’m in love with,” he shared with Country Now. “Everyone that falls in love and ends up getting married, you have to learn to coexist and you have to give up a little of yourself and also realize that you maybe are dependent on this other person now. So again, just another little snapshot of a moment in the progression from love to marriage.”

When Tursi began thinking about the kind of stories he wanted to tell this time around, it only felt natural to write about the things that inspire him most, which often tends to be his other half.

“There was just so many monumental moments in life following in love and getting married and just a lot of different realizations I had was going through personally that allowed me to take that next step in life. And those moments are pretty poignant. I guess that was at the top of the brain every morning when you pick up the guitar and see if you got anything that day.”

While Roxy had no problem being the muse behind an entire album, Tursi admits her dad may have been the project’s biggest fan. Not only are many of the songs inspired by his daughter, but the album is also named after Colorado, the state he calls home and a place that has become special to Tursi and Roxy throughout their relationship.

“I think she likes it pretty good. Her dad likes it even more…I think he can’t believe that all these songs are about his daughter and then they showcase his hometown too. But she’s been great and she was even in some of those videos with me and she’s got her own career too in publishing, but she’s been a great supporter through the entire thing,” he proudly stated.

Another highlight is his latest single, “Time With You” ft. Lukas Nelson. Warm guitar plucks set the tone for the track as the pair ultimately arrive at the conclusion that nothing is more valuable than spending time with the person you love.

Tursi was impressed with Nelson’s guitar work from the first moment he saw him play at Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday party at the Hollywood Bowl. He attended the celebration alongside Old Dominion and was instantly amazed by what he saw on stage, leading him to connect with the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter back in Nashville.

“They just got us together in a co-write and that was the first song we wrote together, just him and I,” he explained. “I think it came out cool. It’s a little kind of a different song. You don’t get a lot of ragtime these days in modern country music.”

At its core, Colorado serves as a musical snapshot of a real-life love story, balancing playful moments with heartfelt reflections as Brad Tursi documents the journey of two lives gradually becoming one.

He expressed his hope that when fans listen to Colorado from top to bottom that the come away feeling like they got to see a different side to him, one that is separated from his work with Old Dominion.

Looking ahead, he hopes to get even more solo music out and is confident there will be another record down the line.

“It’s here to stay,” Tursi said confidently.

“I’m excited for more people to get to know it,” he continued. “I’ve walked very far down this road with Old Dominion and God, I’ve been in bands since I was 15 years old. So to start new again is insane to thing to do, but I’m excited for it.”

Karl-Anthony Towns Says Fiancee Jordyn Woods Was Not Happy About Knicks Owner’s …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Midtown Manhattan is at a standstill today, thanks to a parade celebrating the New York Knicks’ first championship in 53 years!

For obvious reasons, the team’s biggest stars, including Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns, have been anointed the new kings of the city.

But as Towns’ and his fiancee, socialite Jordyn Woods, can attest, the spoils of victory came at a tremendous price.

In a recent interview, Towns discussed a controversial speech delivered by Knicks owner James Dolan.

Dolan suggested that his players might want to take after the ancient Spartans and abstain from sex during the season.

Not surprisingly, this suggestion didn’t sit well with several members of the Knicks roster.

“I will definitely say, when I came home, and I told my fiancée what he said, she didn’t like to hear that one,” Towns shared on “The Howard Stern Show” this week.

Asked by Stern if he and Jordyn adhered to the new rule, Towns kept things PG, saying, “I would say she’s very happy.”

Dolan’s … unusual suggestion to his players was first revealed on Brunson and Josh Hart’s “Roommates” podcast.

“You don’t have to give up sex for the next 10 weeks, but like Spartans — do you know what Spartans are? They denied themselves so that they could have an edge. Get the edge,” Dolan said, adding:

“Go home, talk to your wives,” Dolan said. “Don’t tell them you’re not going to have sex, and don’t tell them it was my idea.”

“But let them know what this is going to be like, what your commitment is going to be like, and how they’re going to have to sacrifice too.”

Thankfully, Karl didn’t take the advice to heart. He and Jordyn got engaged earlier this year, and she paid loving tribute to her lanky boo after the Knicks polished off the San Antonio Spurs four games to one in the NBA Finals:

“To my soon-to-be husband and best friend: you did it. I couldn’t be more proud of you,” she wrote, adding:

“Watching the humility you’ve carried through every high and low, the way you put your faith before everything else, the sacrifices you’ve made, and the joy you’ve brought to every moment has been so inspiring. No ego. Just hard work, gratitude, and an unwavering belief.

“What a journey this has been for us. You always said, ‘When I get my ring, I’ll get you yours,’ and somehow it happened exactly that way. Two rings in one year.”

It’s gonna be hard to top 2026. But something tells us Jordyn and Karl will keep trying.

2026 NFL Offseason: The Biggest X-Factor For Every NFC Team Next Season

There are NFL players across the league who — whether they’re healthy again, live up to the hype or take significant steps forward in their production — can drastically alter the trajectory of their teams’ 2026 season. Who are those players in the NFC? Here are my biggest X-factors for every team in the conference (my AFC selections are here): NFC East In the wake of trading Micah Parsons, pass rushing was one of the Cowboys’ biggest struggles last season. The acquisition of Rashan Gary gives Dallas a dependable veteran presence and first-round rookie Malachi Lawrence may one day become a No. 1-caliber edge rusher, but Ezeiruaku’s Year 2 development could make the biggest immediate impact on a defense that must be better in 2026. As a second-round rookie last season, Ezeiruaku had two sacks, 40 tackles and 12 QB hits. Nabers tore his ACL during quarterback Jaxson Dart’s first career start last September. And after clean-up surgery in the spring to remove scar tissue, the third-year receiver’s status remains uncertain for the start of the season. Nabers’ availability and production are integral to Dart’s development as New York’s hopeful franchise quarterback. With A.J. Brown traded to the New England Patriots, Smith is now the Eagles’ WR1. That will mean more matchups with No. 1 cornerbacks in 2026 for the former Alabama star. If Smith steps up, Philadelphia has one less thing to worry about offensively in 2026. After putting together one of the best rookie quarterback seasons in league history in 2024, Daniels was limited to seven games last season due to injury. If the former No. 2 overall pick is healthy, the Commanders could be right back in NFC contention. NFC North The Bears didn’t address their pass rush in a meaningful way in free agency or the draft. That means Booker, a fifth-round pick in 2024 who had a career-high 4.5 sacks last season, will need to take another step forward at edge rusher opposite Montez Sweat. With Al-Quadin Muhammad (11 sacks last season) walking in free agency, the Lions must find a dependable edge rusher opposite star Aidan Hutchinson. Moore, the 44th overall pick in April’s draft, is a strong candidate as a high second-round pick. With Parsons (ACL) expected to be sidelined to start the season and Gary traded to the Cowboys, the Packers need Van Ness — a former first-round pick — to step up as a pass rusher. When Parsons returns, his pairing with a productive Van Ness could give the Packers a championship-caliber defense. Murray is the favorite to win the Vikings’ quarterback job over former first-round pick J.J. McCarthy. Given Minnesota’s talent on offense, it could be a dark-horse contender in a tough NFC North and the NFC at large if Murray returns to Pro Bowl form. NFC South With fellow second-year pro James Pearce Jr. facing a potential suspension, Walker’s growth will be paramount for DC Jeff Ulbrich’s defense in 2026. Walker’s 5.5 sacks last season ranked third on the team. Brooks, a 2024 second-round pick, missed the entire 2025 season due to an ACL tear. If he’s healthy and lives up to his draft slot, it would take a tremendous amount of pressure off Bryce Young in a pivotal year for the quarterback and the Panthers. There’s a void in Carolina’s backfield after the free-agent departure of Rico Dowdle, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season. No Saints player last season reached 500 rushing yards. If Etienne can play to the level we saw throughout his Jaguars career (three 1,000-yard rushing seasons in four years), it would help the development of promising second-year quarterback Tyler Shough. With franchise legend Mike Evans gone, Egbuka steps into an even larger spotlight as the Bucs’ No. 1 receiver. His success will be integral to Tampa returning to the playoffs in 2026. NFC West Entering his third year, Harrison has yet to live up to the expectations that came with being the fourth overall pick in 2024. If he puts it all together in 2026, it could open up new coach Mike LaFleur’s offense, giving Arizona another top-end pass-catcher — both tight end Trey McBride and receiver Michael Wilson had more than 1,000 yards receiving last season — and lightening the box for rookie running back Jeremiyah Love, the No. 4 overall pick. When opposing offenses look to pass against the Rams’ Myles Garrett-led defense, they’ll likely look to throw away from star cornerback Trent McDuffie, twice an All-Pro selection. So if Watson can be a big-time playmaker on the opposite side of the field, L.A. could have a truly dominant defense. Greenlaw was the heartbeat of the Niners in his first stint with the team from 2019-24. After a year in Denver, he returns to San Francisco as the expected starter at weakside linebacker. In Greenlaw’s first six seasons with San Francisco, the defense played significantly better with him on the field. Overall, including the playoffs, the 49ers went 52-24 when Greenlaw played. Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III is now with the Chiefs, while Zach Charbonnet is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the NFC divisional round. It’s paramount that Price, the Seahawks’ top pick, is an RB1-caliber player from Day 1, so Seattle’s offense doesn’t lose a step.Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Morgan Wallen Urged to Seek Help As Behavior Spiral Worsens

Reading Time: 2 minutes

By all appearances, Morgan Wallen is a troubled man.

The recent incident in which he overturned a piano on stage was only the latest in a long line of worrisome moments.

He’s 33 years old. He cannot be throwing tantrums and acting out like a troubled teen at his big age.

Those close to him are reportedly worried, and urging him to seek rehab for anger management before it’s too late.

Is he okay? Evidently not

According to a report from RadarOnline, Wallen’s friends and acquaintances are worried sick about his obvious behavioral issues.

“Morgan swore he’d learned his lesson and gotten his rage issues under control,” an inside source dished.

“But,” the insider warned, “this proves he’s full of baloney.”

By this, they mean the piano-flipping incident. It’s wasteful, and it’s a red flag that someone is out of control.

The source added: “At a bare minimum, he needs anger management classes and a total reset.”

“Morgan says this has all been blown out of proportion,” the insider went on to report.

According to this, he has a truly unbelievable claim regarding the May 29 piano-flipping incident in Denver.

“He claims that the piano flipped over by accident,” the source added.

“But,” the insider quickly clarified, “nobody’s buying that.”

Certainly, the video appears to show the controversial singer intentionally shoving the piano, frustrated at a technical issue. But then, we cannot claim to know what was on his mind.

There are rehabs for behavioral problems

“Morgan’s extremely cranky and constantly flies off the handle for no good reason,” the source characterized.

“People are always walking on eggshells around him,” the insider then detailed.

The report mentioned Blake Shelton, who served as a mentor to Wallen after the latter appeared on The Voice.

“Blake’s very worried about the situation,” the source alleged, “even though he’s kept his distance from Morgan for some time because he wanted to try the tough love approach.”

The insider warned: “Now there’s a real worry that Morgan is one step away from total implosion.”

Many people first heard of Wallen, not from his music, but from the video of him saying the N-word that surfaced in 2021. For many of us, this still defines him.

In 2024, he pitched a chair off of a rooftop bar in Nashville, nearly hitting two police officers. Not his only incident with throwing something heavy, by the way.

Just last year, Wallen abruptly left Saturday Night Live, causing a stir.

Whatever is wrong with him, we hope that he gets the help that he needs.

But if his friends and loved ones cannot reach him on this, he might have to stoop even lower before he sees that he’s in a crisis.

Alaska legislative attorney says U.S. Senate candidate’s removal could violate Constitution

By: James Brooks, Alaska Beacon

An attorney advising the Alaska Legislature said Wednesday that Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom may have violated the U.S. Constitution when she disqualified Petersburg’s Daniel J. Sullivan from this year’s U.S. Senate race in Alaska.

Rep. Andrew Gray, D-Anchorage and chair of the House Judiciary Committee has scheduled a legislative hearing on Monday to discuss the disqualification.

By email, the Alaska Division of Elections said it will not have someone attend the hearing.

In a memo to Gray, attorney Andrew Dunmire said “the Lieutenant Governor was likely not legally justified in her decision to reject Mr. Sullivan’s declaration of candidacy.”

Dan J. Sullivan of Petersburg has the same first and last name as incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan.

The Alaska Republican Party filed two complaints against the Petersburg Sullivan, saying his candidacy was merely intended to confuse voters and he was not acting as a candidate in good faith.

Dahlstrom ultimately agreed with those complaints and disqualified Dan. J. Sullivan under a state regulation that forbids the Division of Elections from listing a candidate’s name “in a manner that is confusing or misleading to voters or compromises the fairness or neutrality of the ballot.”

Dunmire, analyzing the situation, said Dahlstrom was incorrect because state regulations cannot trump the U.S. Constitution’s requirements for candidates.

“As a general matter, the U.S. Constitution is supreme in all areas of law, and an administrative regulation cannot override or contravene a constitutional requirement. Therefore, if Daniel J. Sullivan is constitutionally entitled to be recognized as a candidate for U.S. Senate, then no regulation can prevent him from appearing on the ballot,” Dunmire wrote.

Amber Lee, a consultant working with Dan J. Sullivan, said by text message on Wednesday that the Petersburg Sullivan is still deciding what he will do after the lieutenant governor’s decision.
