2026 Men’s NCAA Tournament Projections: Big Ten, SEC Lead With 10 Teams Each

Which conference can claim the title of best in college basketball? FOX Sports bracket forecaster Mike DeCourcy’s latest NCAA Tournament projections offer a snapshot of the national picture, and the arguments for multiple conferences are fascinating. The Big Ten and SEC feature the greatest depth, with both projected to send 10 teams to the tournament, according to DeCourcy’s projections. The Big Ten backs that up with five teams ranked in the top 13 of the AP Poll, while the SEC leans on balance, already boasting nine teams with at least 16 wins as of Feb. 10. The Big 12 and ACC make their case with top-end talent. The Big 12 is projected to place eight teams in the field and features six legitimate Final Four contenders, including four top-10 teams in Kansas, Arizona, Iowa State and Houston. Meanwhile, the ACC features blue bloods Duke and North Carolina, as well as a surging Virginia team that has won nine of its last 10 games. As the 2025-26 regular season quickly winds down, DeCourcy shares his latest NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament projections. EAST REGION SOUTH REGION MIDWEST REGION WEST REGION And it’s never too early to check in on the bubble. According to DeCourcy’s projections, Texas, Santa Clara, San Diego State and Virginia Tech are the last four teams in the tournament, while Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Cal and Missouri are the first four out. As for conference representation, the Big Ten and SEC lead the way with 10 teams, while the ACC has nine teams in DeCourcy’s latest tournament projections. The Big 12 has seven teams in the mix, while the Big East and West Coast have three teams each. The Mountain West conference has two teams represented in DeCourcy’s projections. Selection Sunday is just over one month away, and these projections will inevitably evolve. But for now, DeCourcy’s latest bracket forecast offers a clear snapshot of who’s rising, who’s falling, and which programs are already building the résumés they’ll need when March arrives.Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Democratic governors pledge to boycott White House events after a Trump snub

Most of the nation’s Democratic governors pledged to not attend events hosted by the White House later this month, after President Donald Trump snubbed some state executives amid his ongoing feud with blue states.

POLITICO reported last week that the White House decided to invite only Republicans to a meeting between the president and governors that was timed to the National Governors Association’s annual gathering — a break from its bipartisan past. And while a dinner celebrating governors of both parties was still planned, some Democrats — including Wes Moore of Maryland and Jared Polis of Colorado — confirmed they did not receive an invitation.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday that while the White House is the people’s house, “it’s also the president’s home, and so he can invite whomever he wants to dinners and events here at the White House.”

Trump’s decision not to invite Moore — the association’s vice chair — and Polis sparked backlash from Democrats, with 18 sitting governors announcing that they would boycott the dinner.

“If the reports are true that not all governors are invited to these events, which have historically been productive and bipartisan opportunities for collaboration, we will not be attending the White House dinner this year,” the Democratic governors wrote in a joint statement Tuesday. “Democratic governors remain united and will never stop fighting to protect and make life better for people in our states.”

Moore also suggested Sunday that his race may have played a role in the White House’s decision not to invite him to the event.

“It’s not lost on me that I’m the only Black governor in this country, and I find that to be particularly painful, considering the fact that the president is trying to exclude me from an organization that not only my peers have asked me to help to lead, but then also a place where I know I belong in,” he said in an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union.”

POLITICO previously reported that the NGA decided not to sponsor the planned meeting between Trump and the governors once it became clear only Republicans would be invited, with the organization writing in an email to people involved in planning that “no NGA resources will be used to support transportation for this activity.”

Brandon Tatum, the CEO of the NGA, said in a statement last week that the group was “disappointed in the administration’s decision to make it a partisan occasion this year.”

At last year’s annual meeting between Trump and the governors, the president got into an argument with Maine Gov. Janet Mills over his administration’s moves to restrict transgender athletes’ participation in school sports, with Trump ultimately threatening to pull funding and Mills promising to sue.

The NGA has undergone considerable turmoil in the last year, with Democratic governors raising alarm about the association’s unwillingness to more vocally criticize the Trump administration.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker threatened to withdraw from the group over Trump’s decision to deploy other states’ National Guard troops to their states.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, the group’s Republican chair, also criticized the administration’s National Guard deployments, telling The New York Times in an October interview that he worried the president was undermining states’ rights.

In a letter sent Monday by Stitt to other governors and obtained by The Associated Press, he urged members to unite together, writing “the solution is not to respond in kind, but to rise above and to remain focused on our shared duty to the people we serve.”

The New York Times also first reported last week that some Democratic governors weren’t invited to the dinner.

“The President has the discretion to invite whomever he wants to the White House, and he welcomes all those who received an invitation to come, and if they don’t want to, that’s their loss,” Leavitt said of the dinner on Tuesday.

Russell Dickerson Reveals The Text Luke Bryan Sent Him After Their Costco Run-In

You never know who you might bump into during a routine grocery run. For Russell Dickerson, that someone turned out to be fellow country star Luke Bryan. Earlier this week, the two of them unexpectedly crossed paths at Costco, a moment fans got to see thanks to a photo Bryan posted of them with their shopping carts in hand. Dickerson is now sharing the text exchange that followed this funny moment.

He explained to Country Now and other media outlets that he and his wife, Kailey, had left their two boys at home with their grandma while they set out to restock after the massive power outage that recently struck Nashville due to the ice storm.

Bryan, however, was on a solo trip to the grocery store. This was made clear by massive difference in each of their carts. While Dickerson and his other half had filled theirs to the very top with various items, the “Mind of a Country Boy” singer hilariously only had two items in his cart, which Kailey confirmed to be “exclusively steak and potatoes.”

In reference to the mountain of food Dickerson was purchasing, Bryan wrote, “Doing some #idol watch party shopping and ran into @russelldickerson. Looks like I should hit up his place instead…”

Dickerson then shared the post to his own Instagram stories and pointed out, “One of us was shopping with our wife…”

He goes on to say that after they snapped the photo, the two of them agreed not to publicly disclose their run-in. However, Luke Bryan later decide it was a moment that had to be shared with the world.

“He texted me was like, ‘Hey, can I post that picture with you?’ Alright, cool, bro,” Dickerson said, laughing about the message exchange.

While discussing their chance interaction with Bryan, Kailey joked that getting any time out of the house, but especially a Costco run, without the company of their kids, feels like a date to her.

“If he takes me to Target with no kids, I’m like, ‘This is amazing,’” she admitted.

When they returned home with their car full of groceries, the lovebirds were able to continue their “date” and take advantage of the sunny weather that has since defrosted Music City. Her mom graciously agreed to watch the kids a bit longer while they took a peaceful stroll together.

“We got back and there was still some time and it was a nice day. I was like, ‘Hey mom, are you cool to stay and we can just go for a walk?’”

Moments like these are a reminder of how meaningful even life’s simplest moments can be. While Kailey cherishes those everyday memories, she says their relationship and family life are also filled with plenty of adventure.

“If he was like, ‘Hey, I booked you a flight, pack a bag, I’m surprising you with something,’ I also wouldn’t be surprised by that. He’s very spontaneous,” she said of Russell Dickerson.

While both Dickerson and Bryan are gearing up for busy schedules filled with tour dates and potential new music in the year ahead, they still make time for everyday moments, like a simple grocery run.

Sturla Holm Laegreid Makes Stunning Cheating Confession After Medaling at 2026 Olympics

Reading Time: 3 minutes

We’re four days into the 2026 Winter Olympics and there’s already a “cheating scandal.”

But not exactly in the form that one might expect.

Sturla Holm Laegreid became overwhelmed with emotion upon receiving his first medal of the year.

The Norwegian athlete confessed to cheating — essentially using his moment in the spotlight to plead with the love of his life to forgive him.

No, this isn’t about athletic cheating — but the other kind

On Tuesday, February 10, Laegreid won his first medal at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.

The biathlete won the Bronze at the 20km individual biathlon.

Amidst the Norwegian Olympian’s triumph, however, he became overwhelmed with emotion.

Speaking to NRK, a Norwegian broadcaster, Laegreid had a confession to make.

“There is someone I wanted to share this with who might not be watching today,” Laegreid announced.

“Six months ago, I met the love of my life,” Laegreid told the camera.

He described this unnamed person as “the most beautiful and kindest person in the world.”

Laegreid then confessed: “Three months ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life and was unfaithful.”

He added: “And I told her about it a week ago.”

The Olympic biathlete then revealed: “This has been the worst week of my life.”

‘I only have eyes for her’

“I had the gold medal in life,” the Bronze winner characterized.

“And I am sure there are many people who will see things differently,” he acknowledged.

“But,” Laegreid gushed, “I only have eyes for her.”

Despite being at the actual Olympics, he admitted: “Sport has come second these last few days.”

Laegreid lamented: “Yes, I wish I could share this with her.”

For the record, Laegreid’s Bronze on Tuesday was his first medal at the 2026 Olympics.

It was not, however, his first Olympic medal overall. This was his second.

His first came in 2022, when Laegreid won the relay gold.

For most people, admitting that sports had not been on their mind when they medaled at the Olympics would be a humblebrag or an outright boast.

For the six-time Biathlon World Champion, however, it simply sounds like the truth.

Will his emotional plea pay off? It’s his last, best hope

Sometimes, the public at large blows cheating out of proportion. We are, as a society, incapable of being normal about many topics.

Unlike something like abuse, for example, cheating is an interpersonal wrongdoing that impacts different people to different degrees.

It is not really any of our business. And, for what it’s worth, we don’t think that Laegreid cares what everyone else thinks. This unnamed love of his life is the target of his emotional plea.

This could backfire. Sometimes, people break up and never tell friends and family that it’s the result of cheating. A public confession can then be humiliating.

However, clearly some people are rooting for Laegreid to reclaim his gold medal in life, so to speak. But only one person can make that decision.
