“Lonely Girl” begins with Landers in a measured register before he moves into a fuller delivery as the track builds. The lyric is framed as a promise: the narrator tells its subject that he intends to be the person who does not let her down.

Chris Stapleton and Jesse Frasure wrote the track, which draws on Landers’ mix of soul, Southern rock, and R&B. The Decatur, Alabama, singer and guitarist began playing guitar as a teenager and has recorded covers of Bill Withers, Otis Redding, and D’Angelo alongside original songs. Landers will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on Tuesday, August 4, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Questlove personally invited him to appear. The Opry performance follows Landers’ earlier appearance on Showtime at the Apollo. Artists who have appeared on both stages include James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mavis Staples, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Elvis Costello, and Darius Rucker.

Last year, Landers released Introducing… Lamont Landers in September. Dave Cobb produced the seven-track project, whose songs include “America,” “Golden Skies,” “Devil Is Alive And Well,” “How Long (Until The Rain Is Gone),” “Love’s Got The Best Of Us,” and “Lotta Love.” In March 2026, “Lotta Love” appeared during the Season 10 finale of Netflix’s Love Is Blind. His 2026 schedule continues September 10 at The Sanctuary on 25th in Tuscaloosa and September 24 at The Burl in Lexington. Additional 2026 dates include September 25 at Rumba Cafe in Columbus, October 2 at The Merry Widow in Mobile, and October 3 at Duling Hall in Jackson.

Frequent collaborator TK The Architect served as executive producer on evidence of you. The project draws on shoegaze and neo-psychedelia while using recurring images of space and light to address relationships, identity, and divisions within the artist’s sense of self. “Coming directly after my album the theory of you, my project evidence of you explores a separation in myself that extends across all of my projects,” ivri said. In “THE GOLDEN RECORD,” a celestial visual carries the project’s space imagery into the video.

The EP follows the 2026 singles “NOISE” and “WHOEVER U WANT ME TO BE (NOTHING MORE),” both released as attention continued around “tower of memories.” A press release states that “tower of memories” has surpassed 9.6 billion TikTok views and 250 million streams across digital platforms. The track also peaked at No. 30 on Alternative Rock radio.

On March 30, 2026, ivri gave a live set at the BMI and Spotify EQUAL songwriter mixer in New York. In spring 2026, she completed her first European headline run, “The Theory of You Tour Part 2,” with stops in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, London, and Amsterdam. A 26-date North American itinerary spans September and October 2026. It begins September 18 at Louder Than Life in Louisville and ends October 27 at Gramercy Theatre in New York City.

Brittney Griner Files For Divorce From Wife Who Fought For Her Release From Russian Prison

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We interrupt the “problematic Caitlin Clark” discourse to bring you an unrelated WNBA controversy.

Just weeks after opening up about their journey to parenthood, Brittney and Cherelle Griner’s marriage has come to an end.

According to court records obtained by People, the WNBA star filed for divorce from her wife in Fulton County, Georgia, on Thursday, citing that the marriage is “irretrievably broken.”

Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner attend The 2023 Met Gala Celebrating "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty" at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 01, 2023 in New York City.

The filing reportedly states that the couple separated on July 24. Griner is also requesting that the court establish a parenting plan for the couple’s 2-year-old son, Bash, as part of the divorce proceedings.

Neither Brittney nor Cherelle has publicly commented on the split.

The news comes as a surprise to many fans, particularly because the couple had recently been speaking openly about their relationship and the challenges they overcame while building their family.

Griner and Cherelle, an attorney, first met while attending Baylor University, but didn’t begin dating until years later.

They married in 2019 and became one of the WNBA’s most recognizable couples during Griner’s arrest in Russia in 2022.

Throughout Griner’s nearly 10-month imprisonment, Cherelle became the public face of the campaign to secure her wife’s release, regularly appearing in interviews and meeting with government officials to keep attention focused on the case.

Griner was ultimately freed in December 2022 in a high-profile prisoner exchange.

The couple welcomed their son, Bash, in July 2024, with Griner later describing motherhood as one of the most rewarding experiences of her life. Earlier this year, she said that coming home to her son’s smile instantly made even the toughest days better.

As recently as June, Brittney and Cherelle appeared together on the ANDMOM podcast, where they discussed the emotional toll Griner’s detention took on their plans to start a family through IVF.

Cherelle admitted they weren’t sure they were in the right emotional place when they moved forward with the process, while Griner reflected on writing a heartbreaking letter from prison, in which she encouraged her wife to move on if she never made it home. Cherelle refused, remaining committed throughout the ordeal.

That public display of resilience makes the divorce all the more unexpected.

For now, however, the reasons behind the split remain private.

Court documents reportedly cite only the standard legal grounds that the marriage is beyond repair, and neither Griner nor Cherelle has offered any additional explanation.

With a young son now at the center of their lives, attention will likely turn to how the former couple navigates co-parenting as the divorce moves through the legal process.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

6 Takeaways From Madden NFL 27’s Ratings Release Week

The Madden 27 ratings began to roll out this week, and, as usual, there’s no shortage of controversy, confusion or surprises. So let’s get into what we’ve learned from Madden’s reveals, mostly regarding the top 10 ratings. I’m not surprised to see the Los Angeles Rams are the best team in the game. That was an obvious choice. But it felt notable that the New England Patriots were tied for fifth in overall rating with the Denver Broncos at 86. Those teams are also tied for second in the AFC behind the Baltimore Ravens (87). Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks were tied for ninth at 84 overall. They are ranked fifth in the NFC. Where’s the respect for last year’s Super Bowl squads? Even as the Patriots added star receiver A.J. Brown, among others, this offseason, they couldn’t crack the top four. Even after the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, they barely made the top 10. I can’t help but be surprised, even considering Seattle’s offseason departures (Kenneth Walker III, Boye Mafe, Riq Woolen). Both teams should be elite yet again. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles rated an 88 score and the Detroit Lions were third with an 87 rating. Nos. 2 through 4 weren’t what I expected. And the Chicago Bears — who might be the NFL’s most polarizing team — didn’t make the top 10. I’m frankly upset that there were no offensive linemen in the “99 Club.” Namely, that Lions perennial All-Pro tackle Penei Sewell and Bears guard Joe Thuney, who won the NFL’s inaugural Protector of the Year Award, were excluded. Heck, even San Francisco 49ers legend Trent Williams was a 96. It’s crazy to think that there isn’t a single offensive lineman who made the club. I suspect it’s more about the position itself (often underappreciated and unheralded) than about the players themselves. There was one 99 that surprised me: Rams QB Matthew Stafford. I get it, he is coming off an MVP season. But Stafford is QB2 in my quarterback rankings. His top MVP competitor, Patriots QB Drake Maye, was a 92. Bills QB Josh Allen also rated a 99, while Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow ranked third among QBs at 97. That’s actually where I think Stafford should’ve landed. Maybe I’m splitting hairs, but it feels like the “99 Club” should be reserved for the NFL’s truly elite players. So I was surprised to see the 38-year-old Stafford. I love the two 2026 NFL Draft picks Madden graded highest. On defense, there’s Cowboys safety Caleb Downs at 82. And on offense, there’s Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love, also at 82. On the other hand, I was stunned to see Chargers linebacker Akheem Mesidor get the same rating as Giants LB Arvell Reese (79). There were two grades that seemed — at least to me — to be downright disrespectful. And Commanders linebacker Sonny Styles landed all the way down at 78. He could have easily been an 82 with Love and Downs, Styles’ former Ohio State teammate. Seahawks running back Jadarian Price is a 75. (A 75!?) The first-rounder out of Notre Dame isn’t going to let that grade stand for long. It’s hard to take the rookie QB grades too seriously, because they’re always low. Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza, the No. 1 overall pick, is a 74 and Ty Simpson, whom the Rams selected at No. 13, is a 71. Mendoza’s rating is higher than last year’s No. 1 overall pick, Titans QB Cam Ward (72), but lower than that of 2024 No. 1 pick Caleb Williams (76). It’s on par with Drake Maye’s rookie year 74. Not only were the Baltimore Ravens atop the AFC, but their QB landed fourth at the position with a 94 rating. It seems — unlike NFL players — Madden’s creators will not fade Lamar Jackson after a bad year. This is seemingly a thing for Madden, which rated Jackson at 79 as a rookie (which is very high!), even after he slipped to the final pick in the first round back in 2018. Meanwhile, Jackson slipped to 68th on the 2026 “NFL 100” list. His status among the NFL’s elite QBs seems to be in jeopardy, depending upon whom you ask. And that’s because his production dipped in 2025 due to injuries. It seems like Madden has faith that Lamar is going to get back to his MVP-caliber ways. When Madden released the top 10 QBs in the “throw power” category, it wasn’t Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes or even Aaron Rodgers atop the list. No, it was Cowboys backup quarterback Joe Milton. You might be wondering: Who the heck is that? He was a sixth-round pick by the Patriots in 2024. But the truth is that you don’t really need to know who Milton is. You just need to know that his arm is genuinely the strongest in the NFL. It’s a surreal thing to watch in person. So the Madden creators got it right when they put Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs at 98 for speed — second-fastest player in the game. But I take some offense at Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy’s rating as the No. 1 speedster in the league. Sure, he ran the fastest 40-yard dash time in the history of the combine. So when it comes to the underwear Olympics — and a straight line — he’s fast. But look at Next Gen Stats. Worthy didn’t crack the top 20 among the fastest plays by a ball carrier in 2025. And he landed at 20th in 2024. Worthy might’ve been the fastest guy at the combine, but in the NFL, his speed isn’t all that competitive with the best of the best. Playing speed isn’t the same as sprinting speed. Prime example: Colts running back Jonathan Taylor ran the fastest among all ball carriers last year, hitting 22.38 mph. And yet he did not rank in the top 10 in speed. Make that make sense.Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

North West Music Tour Shows CANCELED at Last Minute: What Happened?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Excited for North West’s upcoming tour?

Maybe rethink that.

The 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has abruptly called off her upcoming tour dates.

Her first show would have been just days from now. What happened?

Ticketmaster says it’s over (sort of)

This is going to ruin the tour.

On Friday, July 31, TMZ reported that North has “pulled the plug” on a couple of her upcoming tour dates.

Wednesday, August 5, she would have gone on stage for her first performance alongside rapper Molly Santana.

The show was scheduled for Dallas, Texas.

Now, however, Ticketmaster shows that the August 5 show is canceled. And it’s only the first.

Ticketmaster also shows that North’s August 17 performance in Toronto has been canceled.

Previously, there had been a website to promote the “Kimokawaii” tour.

That site appears to be gone — as if it had never existed at all.

Maybe it will return.

Or maybe not. Normally, if the tour is still happening, you make it known.

Is that hope on the horizon?

Interestingly, North and Molly were supposed to perform on August 25 in San Francisco.

That tour is not officially canceled, as of early Friday afternoon.

Ticketmaster still has the two scheduled to perform at “The Midway” venue on that date.

However, anyone looking forward to attending might want to look for word from North … or, dare we say it, from an adult … for added clarity.

At the very least, many folks may consider that performance to be in limbo at present.

Did you know that North has a music career?

Her album came out in May.

North’s famous family has been very supportive. Obviously. Releasing an album and playing concerts at 13 happens if you are a singular talent or if your family is extremely wealthy and supportive.

They’ve shown themselves enjoying her music, or at least seeming to, since the album dropped.

Perhaps an explanation will come soon about what befell the canceled tour dates. And, of course, some clarity about the seemingly not-yet-canceled showing.

Tony Romo: Fired By CBS Following Arrest?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Last week, retired Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (a lesser charge than DUI).

In recent years, Romo has launched a second career as one of the most beloved broadcasters in the world of sports media.

But it looks as though his job at CBS might be under threat in the wake of his recent legal woes.

According to a new report from the New York Post, Romo is officially on leave from the network just weeks before the NFL season is set to begin.

CBS’ first regular season broadcast will take place on September 13, during Week 1 of the NFL season.

Former Pittsburgh Steeler and second-year broadcaster J.J. Watt is currently slated to take Romo’s place in the broadcast booth alongside Jim Nantz.

Romo was returning from the Wisconsin Amateur Championship golf tournament when he was pulled over while traveling south on Interstate 43.

According to a citation, Romo “drove in the marked right distress lane to pass vehicles in lanes 1 and 2 during rush hour traffic” before he “cut across the marked gore.”

Though he told officers that he had had “zero” drinks, he was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests.

Video of Romo’s arrest has left social media users divided, with some claiming that the former QB did not appear to be intoxicated, while others alleged that he was glassy-eyed and slow to react.

Though clearly baffled at being pulled over, Romo was courteous with police throughout the encounter.

“Because I’m coming from a golf course, you think I’m drunk?” he asked at one point.

In a different citation viewed by the Post, one officer reported that Romo had an “open bottle of an alcoholic beverage” located on the passenger side of his Jeep, and he “refused to take test for intoxication after arrest.”

According to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office, the allegations against Romo constitute “a traffic violation and not a criminal charge in Wisconsin.”

The 46-year-old is scheduled for a court hearing on September 21, but is not required to attend. He is facing a total of $1,568.50 in fines.

Romo has yet to publicly comment on the situation, and it’s unclear at this time if he will eventually be reinstated at CBS.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.
