Mariska Hargitay Calls Out Alleged Cornell Rapists: ‘I Think We Should Ruin Their …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Mariska Hargitay has made it clear where she stands on the disturbing allegations involving several Cornell University fraternity members.

The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star and recent Emmys host shared a series of posts on social media addressing the allegations, including one that called for consequences for the men accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman.

And considering the role she has played on television for nearly three decades, it probably comes as little surprise that Mariska had some very strong feelings about the case.

Host Mariska Hargitay speaks during the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards at Peacock Theater on September 14, 2026 in Los Angeles, California.

On her Instagram page, Hargitay reposted a graphic that read: “Yes I think we actually should ruin the futures of adult men who drug and gang rape a woman, thanks for asking.”

She also shared posts urging men to contact police if they witnessed a woman being sexually assaulted.

Another post referenced an alleged fraternity group chat in which a message advertising “free p—y” was reportedly shared.

The allegations stem from a lawsuit filed September 16 by a former Cornell student, identified as Jane Doe in court documents.

Doe alleges that she was 20 years old when she was sexually assaulted at the Chi Phi fraternity house in October 2024. According to the lawsuit, she was allegedly forced to consume drugs before multiple men sexually assaulted her.

Seven fraternity members were named as defendants in the lawsuit: Matthew Ingalls, Johnathan Newell, Winston Lee, Gillio Lopes, Diego Sarabia, Scott Norris, and Scott Kretzschmar.

Those allegations remain allegations, and the defendants have not been convicted of the conduct described in the lawsuit.

Doe reported the alleged assault to Cornell University Police approximately three weeks after the incident.

Cornell subsequently suspended the fraternity’s Xi chapter and temporarily suspended the seven men named in the lawsuit, according to court documents. The lawsuit alleges that the university gave the men an opportunity to mitigate the alleged conduct by submitting essays (per Yahoo! News).

Doe ultimately left Cornell.

Now, New York state prosecutors have reportedly decided to reopen a criminal inquiry into the allegations, bringing renewed attention to a case that had largely remained out of the national spotlight.

For Mariska, who has spent years portraying Detective Olivia Benson on SVU and advocating for survivors through her Joyful Heart Foundation, the issue is clearly a personal one.

She has also previously spoken publicly about experiencing sexual assault herself.

So while Mariska’s latest social media posts are very much in keeping with the work she’s been doing both on-screen and off-screen for years.

And with the investigation now being revisited, her posts have added another high-profile voice to the growing calls for accountability.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

Kristi Noem Files For Divorce Following Husband’s Cross-Dressing Scandal

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Back in March, folks on social media had a good laugh over reports of Bryon Noem’s alleged cross-dressing fetish.

But it seems that Bryon’s wife, former South Dakota governor and former Department of Homeland Security secretary, failed to see the humor in the situation.

Kristi filed for divorce from Bryon on Monday, September 28, according to court records obtained by People.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on March 03, 2026 in Washington, DC.

Kristi cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

And while the filing may have arrived this week, rumors about trouble in the Noems’ marriage have been circulating for quite some time.

Kristi and Bryon married in 1992 after meeting as teenagers in South Dakota. They went on to have three children — daughters Kassidy and Kennedy and son Booker — and are now grandparents to four grandchildren.

But their seemingly long-running marriage came under intense scrutiny earlier this year after reports surfaced about Bryon’s alleged participation in online fetish forums.

The Daily Mail reported in March that Bryon had allegedly spent more than $25,000 communicating with performers in “bimbofication” chatrooms, a type of role-playing centered around exaggerated femininity.

The outlet also published photos that allegedly showed Bryon wearing feminine clothing and oversized fake breasts.

Kristi’s representative responded to those reports by saying that she was “devastated” and that the family had been “blindsided.”

Bryon did not deny participating in the online chatrooms at the time, although he disputed some of the claims made about his conversations and his marriage.

The controversy came as Kristi was dealing with major changes in her own career.

President Donald Trump removed her as Homeland Security secretary in March and reassigned her to another role. Around the same time, Kristi was questioned publicly about longstanding rumors involving Trump ally Corey Lewandowski.

Both Kristi and Lewandowski have denied having a romantic relationship.

When questioned under oath about whether she had a sexual relationship with Lewandowski, Kristi declined to give a direct answer and dismissed the questions as “tabloid garbage.”

Meanwhile, Kristi’s mother, Corinne Arnold, indicated in July that the divorce was coming.

“It has been difficult, but we knew this was coming, that they were going to get divorced,” Arnold told the Daily Mail.

At the time, however, no divorce paperwork had been filed publicly.

That has now changed.

After 34 years of marriage, Kristi and Bryon’s relationship has officially reached its final chapter — and considering everything that has unfolded around the couple in 2026, it has certainly been a very public one.

Trump’s Ban on Canadian Alcohol Kicks In: Will You Notice the Impact?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

For most of this year, Donald Trump’s tariffs and international commerce restrictions have been subjects of widespread criticism.

And beginning today, millions of Americans might feel the effects of the never-ending trade war like never before.

That’s because the Trump administration has officially banned a whole lot of Canadian booze from entering the United States.

U.S. President Donald Trump looks on during the signing of a security pact between the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland during the 81st session of the United Nations (U.N.) General Assembly at U.N. Headquarters on September 22, 2026 in New York City.

But before anyone starts panic-buying Crown Royal, there’s an important catch: The ban probably won’t empty American liquor-store shelves overnight.

The new restrictions took effect Tuesday and cover roughly $800 million worth of Canadian alcoholic beverages that the United States imported last year. The move is part of the rapidly escalating trade fight between the U.S. and Canada.

Trump’s administration says the action is a response to Canadian restrictions on American alcoholic beverages. Canada began pulling US wine and spirits from store shelves in 2025 after Trump imposed tariffs on Canadian goods.

The White House has characterized Canada’s treatment of American alcohol as discriminatory. Trump subsequently used Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 to impose the new restrictions.

And yes, this means some of your favorite Canadian drinks could become considerably harder to find.

But there are loopholes.

Whiskey and liqueurs can still enter the United States when they’re shipped in containers larger than four liters. That creates an obvious problem for Canadian producers, however, because many bottles sold in American liquor stores are much smaller.

Companies could theoretically ship their products in bulk and bottle them in the United States, but that requires additional equipment and containers.

Crown Royal may have an advantage here, as the brand already ships bulk whisky to the United States and bottles products intended for the American market domestically.

So while this is technically a ban on Canadian booze, it isn’t quite as simple as slapping a giant “NO CANADIANS ALLOWED” sign on every liquor store.

American consumers may not immediately notice much difference, particularly because distributors had time to stock up before the restrictions took effect.

Still, the broader implications are significant.

Trade expert Inu Manak tells CNN that using an import ban against an ally is an unusual escalation and described the move as a symbolic attempt to pressure Canadian negotiators.

The alcohol industry isn’t exactly thrilled about being caught in the middle, either.

Chris Swonger, president and CEO of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, said American distillers prefer to compete based on their products rather than tariffs.

“We like to compete by sip and taste, not tariffs,” Swonger said.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, this particular trade dispute appears to have gotten considerably more complicated than simply deciding which country’s whiskey tastes better.

And for American consumers, the biggest question may be whether their favorite Canadian bottles remain available — or become the latest casualty of the increasingly messy US-Canada trade war.

Jonathan McKinsey, ‘New York Times’ Engineer, Allegedly Shot & Killed by …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

A targeted shooting in broad daylight claimed the life of Jonathan McKinsey.

The New York Times engineer was a transgender man who had spent the past year locked into a bitter custody battle with his estranged wife.

Authorities almost immediately arrested his 77-year-old in-laws, who were walking away from the scene.

Police have still not identified a motive for the killing, but the backstory suggests a series of possibilities.

A targeted shooting in broad daylight ended Jonathan McKinsey’s life

On Saturday, September 26, Jonathan McKinsey was shot in broad daylight at a Dublin, California sports complex, the Mercury News reports.

He was only 40 years old.

Jonathan was a games engineer who worked for the New York Times.

He had also spent the past year locked in a bitter custody dispute with his estranged wife.

Both had accused the other of abuse. Jonathan was transgender. And police have arrested Jonathan’s elderly in-laws for the shooting.

Authorities have not announced a motive in Jonathan’s shooting death.

They have, however, said that he was deliberately targeted.

Shortly after 3 PM on Saturday, police arrested his in-laws Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, both of whom are 77.

They were walking away from the scene.

The two are being held without bail on suspicion of murder (and other felonies) at Santa Rita Jail. Their arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30.

Everything about this case is upsetting, including the background

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Jonathan McKinsey was seen lying behind a white SUV with its rear hatch open. Presumably, he was either loading or unloading the vehicle at the time of his murder.

Stunned bystanders stood nearby.

It sounds like the investigation is still in its early stages, as investigators had not yet presented the case to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office on the following Monday.

Thus far, there is no indication that Candice Jang, Jonathan’s ex-wife, had any involvement in the shooting.

She and Jonathan had spent the bulk of the past year embroiled in a heated custody battle, one that included mutual allegations of abuse and mutual restraining orders.

Shili Chen mugshot.

In December 2025, Jonathan filed for divorce against Candice Jang after well over a decade of marriage.

Candice’s restraining order accused him of having hurt her arm by grabbing her and of having slapped one of their children. The allegations resulted in a criminal investigation into Jonathan, though that case is now moot.

Jonathan’s restraining order accused Candice of having attacked him with a frying pan, of having yanked medical tubes out of his body as he recovered from surgery related to his transition in 2010, and of being verbally abusive towards their children.

Many allegations came out regarding his alleged shooters, Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, during the divorce, including allegations of rancid homophobia and transphobia.

This is a horrible and extremely upsetting case. And it sounds like, whether one or both or neither parent was telling the truth, the former couple’s children have suffered the most.

Christa Pike: Death Row Inmate Claims ‘Kinship’ With Lindsay Clancy

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Lindsay Clancy returned to a Massachusetts courtroom today for the first time since her trial ended with a hung jury earlier this month.

And more than a thousand miles away, another accused killer is speaking about her connection with the Clancy case.

As you may have heard, Christa Pike is preparing to become the first woman executed in Tennessee in more than 200 years.

And as the convicted murderer awaits her fate, she says she feels an unexpected connection to Clancy.

Pike, now 50, was 18 when she was convicted of participating in the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was sentenced to death and is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection this week.

In a recent interview conducted through her attorneys, Pike discussed Clancy’s case and said she sees similarities between the two women, particularly when it comes to mental illness and the way women’s struggles are understood by the legal system.

“I feel a kinship with Lindsay,” Pike said, according to The Times of London (via The New York Post).

“We are both females who got into trouble because of uniquely female issues,” she added.

Clancy, of course, has spent the past several years at the center of her own highly publicized legal battle. She has admitted to killing her three children in 2023, while her defense argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and therefore should not be held criminally responsible.

That trial ended in a mistrial earlier this month after jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict. Clancy remains hospitalized while prosecutors and her defense team navigate what comes next.

Pike said she was pleased with the outcome.

“I am pleased she received a mistrial and is getting the help she needs,” Pike said.

She also argued that her own case might have been viewed differently if it had gone to trial under today’s understanding of mental health and brain development.

“I think so, because science about brain development has evolved,” Pike said when asked whether jurors might have shown her more compassion today.

Pike claims that her mental-health history was not adequately presented during her 1996 trial. Her attorneys now point to a history of severe trauma, PTSD, and bipolar disorder as factors that should have been considered when she was sentenced to death.

“There are so many women who don’t get the help they need: me and others,” Pike said.

She also believes race played a role in the severity of her punishment, noting that her boyfriend at the time was Black.

“While racism has not gone away, it has diminished some,” Pike said. “I think I was more harshly judged because of my relationship with Tadaryl.”

Pike’s scheduled execution has prompted a last-minute legal effort from her attorneys, who have asked the Supreme Court to intervene. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has declined to grant clemency.

Meanwhile, Pike says she is not afraid of what comes next.

“I am not afraid to die,” she recently said.

For now, both Pike and Clancy remain at the center of very different legal battles, with mental health, criminal responsibility, and the treatment of women playing major roles in each case.

Will Reeve Shares ‘Aggressive’ Testicular Cancer Journey on ‘Good …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Will Reeve, son of late Superman actor Christopher Reeve, wants people to know that he is “okay.”

In the same breath, he detailed his testicular cancer journey.

Like others who have disclosed cancer and other ailments on Good Morning America, he seems optimistic about the future.

This summer, however, he spent fighting for his life.

Will Reeve was diagnosed with testicular cancer

On Tuesday, September 29, Will Reeve disclosed his testicular cancer diagnosis on Good Morning America.

The 34-year-old was quick to reassure viewers “right off the top” that he’s okay now.

But it sounds like he spent the summer aggressively battling the disease to reach this point.

“The diagnosis was a shock and the treatments were a slog,” he acknowledged.

“Today, though, I am relieved to announce that we arrived at our destination and this cancer is in the rearview mirror,” Reeve affirmed. “But what a journey.”

In January of this year, he married Amanda Dubin.

Just four months into their happily ever after, he explained, he discovered “a hard, tender lump in my left testicle.”

He very wisely, and “at Amanda’s urging,” went in for an ultrasound.

“The imagines confirmed the unimaginable,” Reeve admitted.

Doctors discovered that he “had a mass that had to come out.”

Unfortunately, treatment had to be more aggressive than he’d hoped

In May, Will Reeve underwent an orchiectomy — the removal of the testicle in question.

What he believed to have been a “momentary frightening detour” turned out to be something bigger and scarier.

Reeve received a diagnosis of embryonal carcinoma, an aggressive form of testicular cancer that required further medical care.

His next surgery involved the removal of dozens of lymph nodes from his abdomen. Aggressive cancers can often spread using these ducts.

Reeve made the “necessary choice,” in his words, to undergo chemotherapy to further cut down his chances of cancer returning. He had numerous side-effects, but avoided losing his hair thanks to a cold-capping method.

Reeve underwent his surgeries as Memorial Sloan Kettering.

He was in the same building as his mother was when she died in 2006 after a battle with lung cancer. Dana Reeve was only 44 years old.

That was only two years after Christopher Reeve’s death at 52.

Reeve shared that he banked sperm prior to these treatments.

His hope is that he and his wife will always have the option to one day start a family via in vitro fertilization.

We are relieved to know that he is well. We hope that things stay that way.
