Kane Brown FaceTimes Sick Wife Katelyn During Concert After Fans Realize She Won’t Be Joining Him for ‘Thank God’

Although Kane Brown’s wife Katelyn was not able to be on site for his recent performance at The OC Smoke Show in San Juan Capistrano, California, he still found a way to make her part of the moment when it came time to perform their hit duet, “Thank God.”

As Brown prepared to sing the fan-favorite song, the crowd was noticeably upset to hear that Katelyn wasn’t there to join him onstage. Knowing how much fans love seeing the couple perform the song together, Brown decided to facetime his other half in front of the audience.

He jokingly pointed out that since it was 11:30 her time, the call would likely wake her up, thus getting him in some trouble, especially since she was battling the flu back at their house in Florida.

“It’ll be okay. I’ve been in timeout before,” he said.

The country star continued talking to the crowd before realizing that his wife had picked up. He held the phone to the microphone.

“Hi, babe. So they’re kind of upset that you’re not here. I told them you got the flu…I know you’re not going to, but can you turn the light on so they can see your face?”

Katelyn seemed to hesitantly agree after jokingly telling him, “I’m going to kill you,” and turned the camera on, appearing in the dark room with a small light making her face visible on the phone. As usual, Brown made sure to tell his wife how good she looked even feeling sick and feeling woken up unexpectedly.

“Girl, I mean, you can never look bad. You look beautiful.”

He then asked her how she was feeling to which she replied, “not good,” earning some sympathy from the crowd. Brown explained that Katelyn has been since ever since he left to head out on the road a week and a half ago.

The couple said their “I love you’s” and ended the call. Brown said he would have normally asked her to sing her part in the song via phone if she didn’t have the flu keeping her under the weather.

He shared that it was a rare moment to see his wife and the mother of his children sick, describing her as “golden.”

“It’s like when I leave, the house falls apart because I’m a man and I hold my house,” Brown stated before quickly clarifying that he was just messing around. “I’m joking. I’m joking. She holds the house down. I’m just kidding. Don’t put me in jail, don’t put nothing TikTok.”

Brown proceeded to perform “Thank God” on his own this time and finished out the rest of his set. Fans who have had the chance to see the lovebirds perform “Thank God” together live are certainly lucky, as their chemistry both on and off stage makes the fan-favorite duet an especially memorable moment in every show.

The “Miles On It” singer currently has just three U.S. performances left in the year before kicking off 2027 with a run of shows across Australia in January.

Cody Johnson Reveals What George Strait Told Him After Their Clemson Stadium Show

As a native Texan and lifelong lover of country music, Cody Johnson is no stranger to George Strait, and it’s no surprise that the King of Country Music is one of his biggest musical heroes. So when Johnson got the opportunity to share the stage with Strait at Clemson University’s Memorial Stadium, famously known as “Death Valley,” in Clemson, South Carolina, earlier this year, he made sure to soak up every moment.

During a recent conversation with Country Now and other outlets, Johnson reflected on the unforgettable experience of opening for the Country Music Hall of Famer and recalled the memorable conversation they shared after the show.

“I got to go sit on the bus with George and have a 30 minute conversation about nothing. Really, we talked about golf. We talked about cattle, you know, and being from Texas,” Johnson recalled.

What happened next is something that will stick with the “Dear Rodeo” singer forever.

“To hear George Strait say to me like, ‘Son, you’re doing it the right way.’ Like, ‘Don’t change anything you’re doing here. You’re doing it the right way and man, I’m proud of you and you’re representing Texas, you’re representing country music well, you’re representing Cowboys well’ and it just meant the world to me,” Johnson shared.

According to Johnson, the conversation took an unexpected turn when he jokingly brought up his recent performance at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, where he set a new attendance record at NRG Stadium with more than 80,000 fans. The record had previously been held by Strait.

“So, I mentioned to him that, ‘Well, you know, I broke your record at Houston’ and he didn’t know. He said, ‘Do what?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I busted your record at Houston Rodeo at NRG Stadium.’ He said, ‘Well, I guess I’ll have to come back eventually and kick your ass.’ And I said, ‘I hope you do because I want to watch because that gives me a reason to come back.’”

And while Johnson may have gotten the last laugh by breaking Strait’s Houston Rodeo record, the real takeaway from their conversation was far more meaningful: hearing his longtime hero tell him he’s “doing it the right way.”

Looking back on the moment, Johnson laughed, “It’s been a pretty good year so far.”

Angelina Jolie ‘Not Surprised’ That Brad Pitt Is Drinking Again

Reading Time: 2 minutes

As we reported last week, Brad Pitt is drinking again after seven years of sobriety.

The Oscar winner shared the news during an interview with Esquire, and while many observers were shocked, it seems that the mother of Brad’s children wasn’t surprised in the slightest.

According to a new report from the Daily Mail, Angelina is not the least bit surprised that Brad has gone back to the bottle.

“Angelina is not surprised. She tried to warn people. She knew this was always a possibility,” says a source close to the situation.

The insider went on to claim that Jolie had “long believed that sobriety did not necessarily mean the underlying problems [Brad had] had disappeared.”

“She doesn’t believe Brad has fundamentally changed. She believes Brad is who Brad is, and no amount of sobriety or reinvention changes that,” says the source.

Brad’s sobriety revelation comes about ten years after he was accused of behaving abusively toward Jolie and the couple’s kids while drunk aboard a private jet.

Angelina filed for divorce shortly thereafter, and all of the kids proceeded to drop Brad’s last name.

So Pitt’s casual revelation that he’s back to boozing caught quite a few fans by surprise.

“At one point, he poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children,” Angelina alleged in a 2020 court filing, adding that he “choked” one of the children and “slapped another in the face.”

“No, I got — I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon,’ he said with “a little laugh” during the Esquire interview.

“In a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, ‘Yep, nope, not good for me.’ Not in big quantities,’” Pitt continued, adding:

“Yeah. Well, I can have a few. But I can’t have a lot. I have to be professional about it.”

Of course, Brad has a history of (allegedly) not being “professional about it,” which is why he had to quit in the first place.

And it’s also why folks who have been paying attention to this situation were surprised by Brad’s revelation. But apparently Angelina saw this one coming.

Kane Brown Reflects on Nearly a Decade of Friendship With Lauren Alaina: ‘She’s Like My Little Sister’

Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina may be longtime collaborators, but their friendship goes far beyond making music. Brown recently opened up about their close bond while co-hosting Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton over the weekend, stating that Alaina feels like “my little sister.”

The childhood friends have grown up together, and their shared love of music has developed alongside their friendship. They first collaborated on the 2016 multi-platinum duet “What Ifs,” which a appears on Brown’s self-titled debut album went on to become a chart-topping success, eventually earning an RIAA Diamond certification.

Nearly a decade later, their friendship remains just as strong and their latest collaboration come together with ease. When Helton asked Brown about being featured on “Never Been In Love,” he says he didn’t hesitate to return the favor to record a track for Alaina’s album this time around.

“It was real simple. She sent me a song. She said. ‘I did a song for your album, you gotta do one for mine.’ I loved the song.”

Brown goes on to say that Alaina made it “very easy” to work together, noting it only took “30 minutes out of my day” to do his part of the collaboration.

“Never Been In Love” was penned by Alaina with Ashley Gorley and Ben Johnson and is set to appear on her on her new album Stages, arriving August 28.The upbeat country love song finds the artists depicting the emotions of two people who have realized that everything they thought was love before was nothing compared to what they are experiencing now that they’re together.

“I’ve never been in love/ I swear I thought I was, but now it’s time the truth came out Oh/ I said it a thousand times/ Now I know I was lying/ I’ve never been in love ‘til now,” they sing.

In a recent statement regarding the song’s inspiration, Alaina revealed that she pulled emotions from the stage of life she is now and reflecting on the kind of love story she and her husband Cam Arnold share now compared to her previous relationships.

“I remember falling for my husband and feeling different than I’ve ever felt before. When you find true love and happiness, you realize how much you never had it in past relationships,” she explained.

Alaina went on to gush over her friendship with Brown, noting they have “come a long way from those two kids singing ‘What Ifs’ ten years ago.” Since then, so much has changed in their lives, with both artists now married and raising families of their own.

“I’m so excited to sing this song with my boy, Kane Brown…It’s so exciting to sing this song to celebrate the love we have with our spouses and children,” she added.

Lauren Alaina’s forthcoming album was produced by hitmakers Joey Moi and Ben Johnson, and is expected to dive into the defining chapters of her life while exploring coming of age, her time spent on Nashville’s Lower Broadway, starting a family and more. This fall, Alaina will take center stage on her headlining The Stages Tour, a career-spanning run that will give fans the chance to hear new songs alongside some of the anthems that have become staples throughout her career.

Meanwhile, Kane Brown has officially confirmed that a new album is in the works, but he has yet to reveal when we will get to hear the new music. He has three U.S. performances left in 2026 before bringing his music across Australia in January 2027.
