We normally think of Gwyneth Paltrow sharing weird “wellness” content and the occasional shady post.
But she’s under a lot of fire after starring in a commercial for Israeli real estate.
The luxury condos that go for $10 million a pop are only about 50 miles from Gaza, much of which has been turned into a rubble-strewn graveyard by the IDF.
Paltrow is getting put on blast for the “greed and depravity” of this venture. Will she even care about the backlash?
51 Park is a long way from home
Recently, Paltrow appeared in a bizarre advertisement for 51 Park.
She’s advertising for lavish $10 million penthouses in a pair of 51-story luxury skyscrapers in Herzliya, developed by Aviv Melisron.
(Herzliya is a small city in occupied Palestine named after Theodore Herzl, whom some have described as the founder of modern Zionism.)
In the ad — which is in English and was filmed primarily in New York, Paltrow goes for a morning jog and then asks her driver to head to “Herzliya, Israel.”
That’s a little far for a car to travel, being on another continent. But the bizarre premise for the ad is barely a footnote when it comes to the backlash.
The backlash against Paltrow has been vocal across social media.
Many are bringing up a recent Goop podcast video in which she admitted that her husband, Brad Falchuk, views her as a conservative.
She identifies as a centrist and says that she doesn’t “feel anything” right now, a remark full of astounding privilege but also a hefty dose of her trademark cluelessness.
Paltrow has worked with Israeli projects before.
In 2024, she teamed up with Noa Tishby — a former sometimes-actress who showed up to ruin episodes of some great Vancouver-filmed shows about 20 years ago — who is now a notorious and seemingly full-time Zionist influencer.
Who is the target audience of this ad?
People might have a negative response even if she were advertising $10 million condos in Glasgow.
This is a time of extreme economic pressure, particularly given the Trump regime’s work to increase inflation.
However, advertising land that was stolen in living memory to form the apartheid state of Israel is on another level.
Then, after the IDF began the wholesale slaughter of entire families, carrying out the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
Israel is now on the UN’s list of countries that use rape as a weapon of war. Convinced that they can continue with impunity, they have also directed their unending aggression towards neighboring countries, bombing Lebanon and Iran with apparent expansionist aims.
Something that political and pop culture podcaster Matt Bernstein pointed out that we’d like to echo is that this commercial indicates its true purpose.
It’s filmed in the US. Paltrow speaks English in it. And it cast a famous US actress and Goop-pusher.
This is not a commercial intended to convince Israelis to move to 51 Park.
Rather, this appears to be an advertisement to convince wealthy American Zionists to move to Israel, and live in luxury in a nation that’s waging forever wars against its neighbors.
Israel has lost a lot of public support in recent years, now that more of the world — especially within the US — see the country for what it is.
This isn’t going to do any wonders for Paltrow’s public image. But then, will she even notice?

Bill Gates testified before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his vast network of powerful associates.
During the closed-door testimony, Gates revealed that Epstein attempted to blackmail him.
Gates told lawmakers that Epstein tried to use information about his extramarital affairs as leverage in an effort to keep him within the disgraced financier’s orbit.
Probably not the kind of networking opportunity Gates had in mind when he befriended the late sex trafficker.
According to People, Gates acknowledged that Epstein became aware of affairs he had while married to Melinda French Gates and attempted to use that information to pressure him into maintaining contact.
Gates said the effort was unsuccessful and insisted that his personal misconduct had nothing to do with his meetings with Epstein.
The Microsoft co-founder has spent much of the past year trying to explain why he continued meeting with Epstein after the financier’s 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor.
Gates says he believed Epstein might be able to help raise money for global health initiatives. That plan apparently went nowhere.
Gates testified that he cut off contact after realizing Epstein couldn’t deliver the philanthropic support he had promised. Their association reportedly ended in 2014.
If there’s one sentiment that Gates has repeated consistently throughout this saga, it’s that his relationship with Epstein was a mistake.
During his congressional appearance, Gates again described his dealings with Epstein as a “grave error in judgment” and expressed regret for ever associating with him.
He maintained that he never witnessed illegal conduct, never visited Epstein’s private island, and never participated in any criminal activity.
Still, critics have long questioned why one of the world’s most powerful businessmen continued meeting with a convicted sex offender in the first place.
That’s a question Gates may never fully escape.
The testimony comes amid renewed attention on Epstein’s connections to wealthy and influential figures following the release of additional documents tied to the federal investigation.
Earlier this year, Gates publicly acknowledged past affairs and admitted that his association with Epstein had caused significant damage to both his reputation and the work of the Gates Foundation.
Reports have also revealed allegations that Epstein attempted to use knowledge of Gates’ personal life as a means of manipulating the tech billionaire sevral years ago.
For now, Gates is not accused of any wrongdoing related to Epstein’s crimes.
But as Congress continues digging into Epstein’s network, the embattled philanthropist appears determined to make one thing clear:
Meeting Jeffrey Epstein remains one of the biggest regrets of his life.

Alaska lawmakers, meeting in a special session, advanced a bill intended to spur construction of a long-desired pipeline carrying natural gas from the North Slope to markets.
The legislature’s House Finance Committee approved the bill, House Bill 381, which would largely eliminate state and municipal property taxes on project-related infrastructure, replacing those revenues with money from gas flowing through the system.
The bill now heads to the House floor for consideration. For the bill to become law, it must be approved by the House and then reviewed and approved by the Senate before the special session ends on June 19. If the Senate makes changes to the bill, the House must vote to concur with them.
The Senate has its own version of the bill, Senate Bill 2001, which is currently under review in that body’s finance committee.
The House bill has been a top priority of Gov. Mike Dunleavy, who called the special session, and the Glenfarne Group LLC, a private asset manager and developer leading the current plan to commercialize long-stranded North Slope natural gas. They argue that property taxes are the major impediment to the project’s construction.
The Glenfarne project, which is in partnership with the state-owned Alaska Gasline Development Corp. proposes an approximately 800-mile pipeline from Prudhoe Bay to tidewater at Cook Inlet, where gas would be liquefied. Glenfarne became involved in the project last year, acquiring a 75% share from the Alaska Gasline Development Corp.
In comments just before their vote to move the bill, some House Finance Committee members said they had high hopes the measure will result in a pipeline project.
Rep. Frank Tomaszewski, R-Fairbanks, said the project will be as important as the trans-Alaska oil pipeline that his father helped build in the 1970s.
“I’m just humbled and honored right now to be able to be working on this legislation that is going to bring that next step, that gas pipeline, because 40, 50 years ago, that was what we were talking about,” Tomaszewski said at the hearing. “I’m looking forward to the groundbreaking ceremony for this project, because it will be transformational for the state, not only with lower gas prices and affordable energy but also tremendous amount of revenue for the state and local communities.”
Rep. Will Stapp, R-Fairbanks, had similar comments.
“Generally, at the end of the day, I think the vast majority of us and Alaskans really want to see the best chance possible to be provided to move forward with this transformational project,” Stapp said.
The bill went through numerous amendments, many of which were aimed at protecting local governments dependent on property taxes.
The special session began on May 21.
Comedian Matt Rife and podcast host Theo Von are coming to Morgan Wallen’s defense, as he has continued to face backlash after canceling the second of his two scheduled shows at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on June 6. At the time, the country superstar explained that the decision was made due to severe weather forecasts in the area. However, some fans voiced their frustration online after the skies remained clear for much of the evening.
During a recent episode of Theo Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend, the pair weighed in on the ongoing buzz and argued that Wallen’s decision was likely made with nothing but safety for his crew and his fans in mind.
“He’s not a meteorologist. It’s not up to him,” Rife claimed.
Von echoed that sentiment, noting that Wallen was likely doing the best he could under the circumstances.
“Yeah, he’s doing the best that he can and people just, they won’t cut him a break…Well, he has a big set and it’s like if something falls…”
Rife went on to point out that if weather had gotten as severe as predicted amid a concert he didn’t cancel and people got hurt, that would cause even more backlash against him.
Von agreed adding, “He can’t be on stage. ‘Yes, I’m the problem’ and people are getting hit by lightning. There’s a twister just throwing people up on stage. It was like people are passing by you in the air…People are wishing they had sand in their boots because they would be anchored down better. It’s like cut the guy some damn slack, man. He just wants to do his best.”
Wallen’s initial statement was shared to Instagram Stories on Saturday afternoon. He explained he consulted with his team and local officials before ultimately making the decision to call off the show, emphasizing that fan safety was in fact the top priority.
“After talking with local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight’s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night. Safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority,” the statement began.
The hitmaking country star also assured ticketholders that refunds will be available at the point of purchase.
WTAE.com reported that a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for Allegheny County, including the city of Pittsburgh, and several surrounding counties until 6 p.m. local time on June 6. Forecasters warned that scattered areas could see wind gusts up to 70 mph, isolated hail as large as 1.5 inches in diameter, and even the possibility of a few tornadoes. The storm system also carried a risk of localized flash flooding across western Pennsylvania.
Despite those forecasts, conditions in Pittsburgh remained relatively clear, leading some fans to question the decision to cancel the show and argue that Wallen should have waited longer before making the call.
In response to the backlash, the “20 Cigarettes” singer later shared a video on Instagram further explaining the situation from his perspective. He said members of his team approached him the morning of the concert after consulting with local officials and advised him that canceling the show was the safest course of action.
“That was the information I had in that moment and I trusted my team,” he stated. “The truth of the matter is I have a large stage and in those conditions, could become fatal to a lot of folks around it.”
The Tennessee native ended his statement by addressing online speculation that suggested the weather wasn’t the real reason behind the cancellation.
“I’ve been seeing a lot of nonsense about me that is simply not true. I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general, but I had to say it,” Wallen added.

Morgan Wallen’s weekend in Pittsburgh marked another stop on his Still The Problem Tour. He is scheduled to return to the stage in Chicago, IL on June 19 with back-to-back shows at Soldier Field.
His tour will continue through August 1 where he will close things out with two shows at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
