Rashid Shaheed and the Top 10 In-Season Trades That Led to a Super Bowl Appearance

The NFL’s trade deadline, compared to most other professional sports, is still a fairly low-key event, but the few deals that are made each year are usually playoff contenders trying to add a missing piece to put them over the top. They don’t always immediately work out, see the Indianapolis Colts trading for star cornerback Sauce Gardner this year. But over history, you can certainly point to timely trades that not only helped teams get to the Super Bowl, but helped them win a championship as well. So, with the help of FOX Sports Research, we decided to look back at the 10 best in-season trades that led to a Super Bowl appearance in NFL history, as Rashid Shaheed has helped the Seattle Seahawks reach Super Bowl LX. 10. TE Vernon Davis to the Denver Broncos (2015) If you don’t remember this one, it’s OK. Davis had a great run with the 49ers (two seasons with 13 touchdown catches!) but midway through the 2015 season, they traded him to Denver for two sixth-round picks. This wasn’t the 55-touchdown season for Peyton Manning; this was the nine-touchdown season for Manning, where they largely won with their defense. Davis caught 20 passes for 201 yards and no touchdowns. He played in all three playoff games but never caught a pass and had only one target. He then finished his career with four years in Washington. 9. WR Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs (2022) Toney was a first-round pick of the Giants who’d barely played in his second season when Kansas City sent a third- and sixth-round pick in the 2023 draft to acquire him. He had modest contributions in the regular season — three touchdowns — but saved his biggest impact for the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII. He caught a 5-yard touchdown pass for the lead in the fourth, then, after the ensuing drive, fielded an Eagles punt and returned it 65 yards to the 5-yard line to set up another touchdown. Two years later, he was out of the league at 25, but he picked the most important day of his career to make two game-changing plays. 8. WR Emmanuel Sanders to the San Francisco 49ers (2019) Sanders was playing for a 2-5 Broncos team when they traded him to the undefeated 49ers for a 2020 third-round and a pick swap, moving up from the fifth to the fourth round. Sanders had big games for San Francisco that year, logging 112 yards and a touchdown to beat the Cardinals, along with a 157-yard performance and a score to beat the Saints. He had a quiet Super Bowl, catching three passes for 38 yards. Down 24-20 with 1:40 left in the fourth quarter, he got open behind the Chiefs’ secondary, but Jimmy Garoppolo overthrew him and the 49ers would lose. Sanders moved on to the Saints and Bills for his final two seasons. 7. LB Kyle Van Noy to the New England Patriots (2016) Van Noy had just one sack in 2.5 years in Detroit, and the Lions traded him to the Patriots in 2016 for a meager pick swap — moving up from 239th pick to the 215th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. where the Lions drafted a quarterback who never played a snap. Van Noy, who is still playing today, had seven tackles in the playoffs for New England that year and split a sack in the third quarter in the Super Bowl against the Falcons as the Patriots rallied from a 28-3 deficit to win a championship. 6. WR Rashid Shaheed to the Seattle Seahawks (2025) Seattle was already off to a 6-2 start when it traded fourth- and fifth-round picks in the 2026 draft to the Saints for receiver Rashid Shaheed, soon to be a free agent. The spark he’s given the Seahawks has been huge, earning Pro Bowl honors after being the only player in the league to return a punt and kickoff for touchdowns this season. Then he did it again in the playoffs, returning the opening kick against the 49ers 95 yards to set the tone for a 41-6 rout in the divisional round. He had two return touchdowns in three seasons with New Orleans, but three in a half-season with Seattle is another level. He’ll be a priority among Seattle’s free agents next month. 5. DE Chase Young to the San Francisco 49ers (2023) Young, a former No. 2 overall pick for Washington who had been limited by injuries, was acquired by San Francisco for a 2024 third-round pick. He was quiet during the regular season, getting 2.5 sacks in nine games, but came through in the Super Bowl, sacking Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the first quarter. San Francisco would end up losing to the Chiefs in overtime, and Young signed with the Saints in free agency. 4. RB Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles (2017) Ajayi had made the Pro Bowl in 2016, rushing for 1,272 yards for the Dolphins, but midway through 2017, they traded him to the Eagles for a 2018 fourth-round pick. Ajayi combined with LeGarrette Blount for an effective 1-2 punch. Ajayi had a 46-yard touchdown in his Philadelphia debut, and was a workhorse in the playoffs, averaging 63 rushing yards in three playoff games. He had nine rushes for 57 yards in their Super Bowl LII victory over the Patriots. 3. OLB Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams (2021) Miller had been to eight Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl with the Broncos, but the Rams sent Denver second- and third-round picks in the 2022 draft to add an elite pass-rusher. He had five sacks in the last four games of the regular season, had one each in playoff wins over the Cardinals and Eagles, then stepped up biggest in the Super Bowl against the Bengals, with two sacks in the second half to set up a comeback win for the Rams. He was gone to Buffalo a month later, but his short time in Los Angeles included a Super Bowl win. 2. CB Mike Haynes to the Las Vegas Raiders (1983) Haynes is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and had made six Pro Bowls with the Patriots, but he held out in 1983 and eventually was traded to the Raiders, netting a 1984 first- and 1985 second-round pick. Haynes would play seven seasons for the Raiders and make three more Pro Bowls. That first year, in an easy Super Bowl win over Washington, Haynes intercepted a Joe Theismann pass in the fourth quarter. 1. DE Fred Dean to the San Francisco 49ers (1981) Dean had made the Pro Bowl and was first-team All-Pro in 1980 with the Chargers, but was somehow making about $70,000 — less than his brother-in-law, a truck driver, he noted — and eventually was traded to San Francisco, which doubled his salary to $150,000. Dean had 12 sacks in 11 games with the 49ers in 1981, and he added another in their Super Bowl win over the Bengals that year. He played his final five seasons in San Francisco, getting four sacks in the 1984 playoffs on the way to another championship.Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Carly Pearce Reveals Artists She’d Love to Team Up With Next, Teases Collaboration with One Of Her ‘Childhood Heroes’

Carly Pearce has built a reputation for teaming up with some of country music’s best voices, creating unforgettable duets that have helped define her career. From the emotional “We Don’t Fight Anymore” with Chris Stapleton to chart-toppers like “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice and “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” alongside Ashley McBryde, Pearce has proven she knows how to pick the perfect duet partners.

Even with an impressive list of collaborations under her belt, the Grammy-winning artist has plenty of names still on her wish list.

“Chris was my top dream, like period, so it’s been kind of crazy for me to think about, you know, what else?” Pearce shared. “But I would say a few people – I love Lee Ann Womack, I love Alison Krauss and Union Station, I love Cody Johnson, I love Brothers Osborne. So yeah, there’s definitely other people. I just, I love great voices.”

Pearce could even team up with a new collaborator on her upcoming studio album, expected later this year. She teased plans to “collaborate with one of the biggest artists in our format and also one of my childhood heroes.”

While fans will have to wait for more details about this exciting collaboration, Pearce has given a glimpse of the album’s direction with recent releases “Dream Come True” and “Church Girl.” In a recent interview with Country Now, she revealed that this chapter of her music will feature some of her most honest and personal songs yet, a result of her decision to focus on creating music that fulfills her, rather than chasing awards or chart success.

“It’s been a decade since ‘Every Little Thing’ came out. And [I’m] just kind of reevaluating, ‘okay, what do I want the next 10 years to look like? And what is success to me?’ Because I’ve had all these big on paper things. Did it change the way that I felt about myself? No. So that means I got to do some work,” Pearce told us. “And what do I need to do to make Carly whole without accolades? So I’ve kind of been on that part of the journey…”

With this new album, fans can expect Carly Pearce to step beyond the “heartbreak girl” image she’s become known for.

“I think what this record did is it pushed me. What else do I care about? What else do I believe in? What else are the facets that maybe people don’t know about me? Maybe my closest friends know about me, but others don’t,” she reflects. “And pushing that vulnerability made me more excited, not scared. Just like, let’s go. I didn’t even know I had all this stuff. I’m five records in and I’m like, wait, there’s so much more here. Cool.”

Carly Pearce is bringing some of her new songs on the road on her Inside The Dream Tour, bringing her live show to fans in the UK and Ireland later this year. For more tour dates, click HERE.

Sister Wives Season 21: It Looks to Be Happening!

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Kody Brown no longer has a spiritual union with Meri, Christine or Janelle Brown.

He is legally married to only one woman at this point, Robyn Brown.

In other words: Kody no longer has any sister wives in his life.

And yet… we now have it on a very reliable authority that the TLC reality show Sister Wives will continue to air new episodes!

(TLC)

In a recent interview with Growing Up in Polygamy YouTube channel, Mykelti Brown Padron — the daughter of Christine and Kody — told the hosts that executives appear to have picked up the series for a 21st season.

“I will say that none of the parents have the same filming schedule that they used to have,” Mykelti explained, confirming that shooting has gotten underway, even if it looks different from the past.

“It’s been two weeks of filming, two weeks off,” she added. “But this last six months or so, the filming has been very, very minuscule. It’s sporadic. So, filming has been less.”

TLC has not yet made any announcements about the future of Sister Wives.

(TLC)

The network has continued to support the show despite the many changes that have taken place of late within the Brown household.

As Mykelti herself admits, there really can’t be that many seasons remaining of Sister Wives.

“I think [the show] is fizzling. Because it’s not Sister Wives anymore. You know, they’re all ex-wives now,” she told the aforementioned outlet.

Indeed, Christine left Kody in late 2021; Janelle did the same a few months later; and then Meri and Kody confirmed their divorce in early 2023.

On the latest run of the program, Kody went around to his former spouses and tries to issue an apology for all the terrible ways he treated them.

(TLC)

For her part, though, Mykelti would sort of prefer it if Kody worked on his relationships with his children.

“Several of my siblings have blocked him,” Mykelti said during this new interview. “I know which ones have, but I’m not going to say it, but I do know that there are several of my siblings who have told him point-blank, ‘Do not ever contact me again.’”

She continued, clearly critical of her father:

“So obviously with those, he’s still going to generalize us, and he’s not going to name us by name. But he isn’t actively reaching out [to them] and seeking that relationship.”

On the November 6 episode of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Brown actually broke down while admitting to his own shortcomings as a father to his sons and daughters.

(TLC)

“I should have had a stronger relationship with my children,” Brown told a couple fellow contestants on this reality program.

“I’m at a place in my life now where I’m very willing to say that I’ve been wrong,” he added, actually starting to cry on air.

“My failures were because I didn’t know about being a good dad and husband, and I thought I did. I really thought I did, and I misunderstood that. I did it wrong in so many ways, and I hated being blamed for it, and so it made me resistant to ownership.”

Sounds like a fresh perspective.

However, Mykelti added of her father’s attempts to reconcile when speaking to the aforementioned channel:

“I think he could try harder. He’s not trying as hard as he could, and there’s room for improvement.”

Ella Langley Urges Fans to Help ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Hit No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100: ‘We Might Make Country Music History’

Ella Langley is calling on her fans to help her make country music history.

Early Thursday morning, the buzzed-about country star took to Instagram Stories with an urgent plea, revealing that her latest single, “Choosin’ Texas,” is locked in a tight race for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, going neck and neck with Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need.”

According to Langley, one final push could make all the difference.

“Y’all have put me in a position to do something only a few females in country music have ever done,” she shared. “I’m being told we’re neck and neck on getting the #1 and if we have one last push on iTunes we might make country music history.”

She went on to explain just how rare the achievement would be, adding, “Less than 10 women in country music have gotten a number one on Billboard. I know we can do it.”

If “Choosin’ Texas” claims the top spot, Langley would join an elite group of women who have reached No. 1, marking a major milestone in her fast-rising career.

The milestone would mark another major accolade for “Choosin’ Texas,” which surged to No. 1 on the Billboard Streaming Songs chart this week, becoming just the fourth country song by a lead woman to top the chart in its 13-year history. The track also hit No. 1 on both the U.S. Spotify Chart and the Apple Music U.S. Songs Chart on Friday (Jan. 30) and is set to officially impact pop radio this week.

“Choosin Texas” was written by Langley with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor. The song was born during a writing retreat.

“We wrote a bunch of songs together, but the second one really stuck with me. Miranda, being from Texas, started telling us one of her wild stories about drinkin’ and doing something ridiculous, and I said, ‘Well, she’s from Texas, I can tell.’ As soon as I said that, we all just looked at each other like —yep, that’s it! That’s the next song,” Langley previously recalled. “She’s from Texas, the girl he went with. And I thought well…you know I love a song like that.”

The song serves as the lead single off Langley’s forthcoming sophomore album, Dandelion, which is set to release on April 10.

In support of the album, Ella Langley will headline her Dandelion Tour, kicking off May 7 in Toledo, Ohio, and running through August 15. The 16-date run will bring her to arenas and amphitheaters across the U.S., with stops in cities like St. Louis, Oklahoma City, and Austin, before wrapping in Fort Worth, Texas.

Erika Kirk Says Turning Point USA Super Bowl Halftime Show Will Draw ‘Larger …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Bad Bunny may have won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

But Erika Kirk says he still can’t hold a candle to Kid Rock.

As we previously reported, Erika and Turning Point USA will be hosting their own halftime show on Super Bowl Sunday — an alternative for viewers who are inexplicably offended by the fact that Bad Bunny is headlining the actual halftime show.

No one has ever attempted to upstage the biggest broadcast of the year before.

But Erika is confident that her All-American Halftime Show will draw a massive crowd.

In fact, she believes that the concert — featuring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett — will be watched by a “larger audience” than Bad Bunny’s performance with special guests Green Day.

“For us to be able to provide an alternative that’s pro-America, that’s just pro everything, that that’s not the opposite of what they’re putting out there, I don’t want to go into details and bash that, because there’s apparently an audience that wants that,” Kirk said during a recent appearance on Fox News’ The Story with Martha MacCallum (via Newsweek), adding:

“But there’s a larger audience that wants ours. And so we are going to make it very amazing. I’m so excited.”

Erika, of course, is the widow of Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed during a speaking engagement in September.

Asked how her late husband would feel about the All-American Halftime Show, Erika enthusiastically replied that he would be thrilled.

“He [Charlie Kirk] would be fist-pumping with this. He’d be so stoked,” she said.

“The artists that have teamed up with us, I just want to say thank you to them… It’s very brave of them to do this.

“And they have partnered with us without hesitation. And it’s actually been a huge blessing. And it’s going to be an unbelievable halftime show.”

Erika went on to say that she considers the alternative halftime show to be the ultimate tribute to Charlie.

“What better way to honor him than just to get in the middle of this and be able to offer an alternative to families?” she asked.

Several conservative influencers have already vowed to turn off Bad Bunny and tune into Erika’s broadcast.

“I’ll take this over Woke Bunny any day of the week,” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted after the lineup was announced.

But will it really draw a “larger audience” than the actual Super Bowl halftime show? Seems unlikely, but only time will tell!

Britney Spears: I’m Lucky to Be Alive! I’m Still Scared of My Family!

Reading Time: 3 minutes

She can forgive, but will never forget.

Britney Spears is opening up about her feelings amidst what looks like repeated pushes to give her family financial control over her again.

After so many years in that dreadful conservatorship, she feels “lucky to even be alive.”

Now, she feels “scared” of her family. And can you blame her?

‘We can forgive as people, but u don’t ever forget’

On Wednesday, February 4, Britney took to her Instagram page to share a very personal post.

“As people, all we really want is to feel connected to each other and never feel alone,” her caption began.

“For those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you,” Britney wrote, “and make you feel unbelievably left out … they were wrong.”

It is clear that she is talking about her own harrowing years under a conservatorship. It is also clear that she knows that she is not the only person to have suffered under a family’s control.

“We can forgive as people,” Britney expressed, “but u don’t ever forget.”

“Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial !!!” Britney then affirmed.

“I’m incredibly lucky to even be alive,” she acknowledged.

Britney continued: “With how my family treated me once in my life.”

She then revealed: “And now I’m scared of them.”

Considering the extent to which many believe that at least some of her relatives want to get her back under their financial control, that sounds very sensible.

‘I’m incredibly lucky to even be alive’

“It’s weird how God works in mysterious ways,” Britney commented.

“My friends, what do you think he is saying today ???” she asked, presumably probing her Christian fans for input.

“Because to be totally honest with you,” Britney confessed, “no matter what he says, they will never take responsibility for what they did.”

On a brighter note, she continued: “So I’ve made cheesecake today and I must say it’s pretty damn good.”

Britney added: “My neighbor joined me with milk !!!”

At the end of her caption, Britney wrote: “PS I haven’t danced in a month because I broke my toe twice!”

We’re so sorry to hear that!

In December, we reported on Britney’s injury.

While there are certainly some very loud people who seem to become enraged when she dances (or try to frame it as something that should see her stripped of her human rights), we hope that she heals up quickly.

And it’s good to hear that she had a neighbor who could bring over some milk. Borrowing baking ingredients is an old-timey trope among neighbors, but it happens less and less as our culture’s toxic individualism leaves us more and more alone.

She’s free — and will, hopefully, remain free

Britney is far from the first adult who had to claw their way out of their toxic family’s control.

It’s just that most people don’t have such a public spectacle surrounding their fight for freedom.

(Also, countless people remain under their family’s thumb — and not ever awful parent needs a conservatorship to do it)

It’s very clear that Britney knows that she’s not alone in still feeling shaken by her years without core human rights.

Right now, it sounds like she’s aware of the push to use her every word and action to turn public consensus away from her rights. Hopefully, no one will fall for it.
