Corey Kent Taps Koe Wetzel For Raw, Country-Rock Infused ‘Rocky Mountain Low’

Corey Kent has teamed up with Koe Wetzel for a raw, heart-on-your-sleeve country track titled “Rocky Mountain Low” that blends rock and country influences into a sound all its own.

Written by Kent along with Thomas Archer, Austin Goodloe, and Michael Tyler, the fresh release opens with the Oklahoma native setting the emotional tone before Wetzel joins for the second verse. Lyrically, the track explores heartbreak and betrayal as it chronicles the moment a man realizes he has to watch someone he cares about run into the arms of another man.

The country acts wrestle with frustration, anger, and emotional exhaustion through their gritty, musty tones that blend together perfectly. They go on to sing about reaching “Rocky Mountain low,” a metaphor that paints a vivid picture of the isolation and emotional coldness he’s feeling in his heart from the loss.

“A good man/ Can only take so much man/ Until he’s had enough/ And damn I’ve had enough/ It’s up in smoke/ But I ain’t high/ There she goes/ No goodbye/ Yeah, she’s running right back to his arms again/ I’m sitting all alone in the cold/ Rocky Mountain low,” the sing on the devastatingly painful chorus.

Kent expressed great pride for the song and the opportunity to include the vocals of his fellow rising country act. He praised Wetzel for taking it to the next level just like he envisioned in the writing session and calls “Rocky Mountain Low” one of his “favorite” songs he’s “ever recorded.”

“It has all the rock and roll elements I grew up on and all the country influences I love, and we managed to blend them together perfectly. I got my buddy Koe Wetzel to jump on the second verse, and he was the person I pictured when writing that part so having him on the track just makes it feel even more authentic.”

“Corey and I have talked about working together for a while now, and this song finally gave us the chance,” Wetzel adds. “I heard it once and knew it was the one. I’m really proud of how it came together.”     

The best part of the mid-tempo track in Kent’s eyes is its unique sound. It offers an electric-guitar-driven arrangement that gives the song a simmering intensity to match the raw lyrics. Melodically, it moves like a slow burn and also features a heavy emotional undertone that keeps things mellow and undeniably powerful at the same time.

“What I love most is that it doesn’t sound like anything else and that we were able to create something that really has its own fingerprint in the country music landscape. I believe that this song is going to be one of the biggest in my career and I’m really excited to share it with the world,” he added.

“Rocky Mountain Low” (feat. Koe Wetzel) marks the first taste of new music from Kent since the release of his Poster Child EP earlier this year. It’s set to impact Country Radio on Monday, December 8.

Also this week, his second No. 1 single “This Heart” was certified GOLD by the RIAA while “Something’s Gonna Kill Me” is on it’s way to achieving PLATINUM status. Both join Kent’s TRIPLE-PLATINUM No. 1 breakout “Wild As Her.”

Corey Kent is finishing out the year strong with this release. He will get a few more chances to showcase it live on stage before wrapping up his tour for 2025. The Oklahoma native will pick his touring schedule back up in January and join Jason Aldean’s Full Throttle World Tour the following month for a run of dates across Australia and New Zealand.

Plus, he has several major festival appearances ahead including Stagecoach in Indio, California (4/25), the Highways Festival in London, U.K. (5/16), as well as a handful of headline dates in Germany and The Netherlands.

Treaty Oak Revival Brings ‘West Texas Degenerate’ on the Road for 2026 Headline Tour

Treaty Oak Revival is hitting the road in 2026 for a 25-city headlining tour, bringing their rowdy, high-energy live show to fans across the country starting February 5.

The tour supports the band’s latest album, West Texas Degenerate, and will take over arenas and amphitheaters nationwide.

Tour highlights include February 5 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA, stops at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, WAMU Theater in Seattle, Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The trek also features the band’s first-ever headline performance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.

Support acts will include Wade Forster, William Clark Green, Laredo, Huser Brothers, Gannon Fremin & CCREV, and Parker Ryan, with lineups varying by city.

“Our fans have shown up for us in ways we never expected,” the band said. “This tour is the best way to give back. We’re still the same degenerates—just louder—and we can’t wait to raise hell with everyone who walks through those doors.”

Luke Combs Pulls at Heartstrings With Tender New Ballad ‘Giving Her Away’

Luke Combs is tugging at the heartstrings with his latest release, “Giving Her Away.”

After teasing the emotional track on social media and receiving an overwhelming fan response, the superstar officially released the song on Friday, marking his first release since The Prequel earlier this fall.

Written by Gary Garris, Josh Mirenda, and Josh Phillips, the piano-driven ballad captures the tender, emotional moments leading up to a wedding. Told from the perspective of a groom to his soon-to-be father-in-law, the song explores the shared love and overwhelming emotions both men feel as the father gives his daughter away to the man who loves her.

“Only she could’ve got us both in suits / Only she could’ve got us out our boots / Fightin’ back every tear that we both knew / We were gonna cry today / Neither one of us knows what to do / Standin’ up in front of a crowded room / On a springtime Saturday afternoon / With both our lives about to change / Man, you brought your baby / I brought a ring / I’m givin’ her my name / And you’re givin’ her away,” Combs sings on the heartfelt chorus.

Although Combs didn’t co-write the song, he was immediately drawn to it and shares a long-standing connection with one of the co-writers. 

“One of my good buddies Josh Phillips sent me this song that he wrote and I was just absolutely blown away by it. Josh has just been on an absolute streak recently with these songs that he’s been writing and this one luckily made it to my inbox. Josh used to crash on the couch with me back in Boone and I used to go down and play shows with him, so it’s kind of a full circle moment for me to get to record one of his songs and put it out there for you guys,” he explained. “I think it’s real special and I hope you guys love it.” 

With its heartfelt lyrics and tender melody, ‘Giving Her Away’ is destined to become a staple on wedding playlists in the new year. 

“Giving Her Away” follows hits like “My Kinda Saturday Night,” “15 Minutes,” and “Days Like These,” as well as Combs’ latest radio single, “Back in the Saddle,” which recently became his 20th consecutive single, extending his record-setting streak for the most consecutive chart-toppers to start a career at country radio.

This tender release comes on the heels of Combs’ My Kinda Saturday Night Tour on the road next year, performing sold-out stadium shows across the U.S., U.K., and Europe. Lainey Wilson Unites With Aerosmith and Yungblud for Genre-Bending Version Of ‘Wild Woman’

Lainey Wilson is bringing her signature country edge to the rock world as she joins multi-GRAMMY Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Aerosmith and British multi-platinum artist and GRAMMY® nominated artist Yungblud for a fiery new rendition of “Wild Woman (Lainey Wilson Version).”

The original version of the scorching track appears on the rock acts’ collaborative EPOne More Time, out now via Capitol Records. Amid the pulsating rhythms, the artists spanning multiple genres come together to tackle a story that’s both vulnerable and honest, capturing the push-and-pull of complicated relationships.

The song also digs into the scarifies that come with fame and life on the road, noting and how constantly moving between connection and distance can make it hard to maintain healthy relationships. At its core, “Wild Woman” serves as an introspective look at love, heartbreak, and the messy side of romance, especially as someone who has already dedicated so much of their heart to their craft.

Yungblud opens the track with raw energy, soon joined by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, whose vocals escalate the intensity until the rockers come together in a soaring, powerhouse delivery. Midway through, Lainey Wilson’s Louisiana-bred voice weaves into the narrative, softening the edges and adding a new layer of emotional depth, before the rockers take it home.

“Why wild woman/ You taking back every truth you told?/ I hurt you but You hurt me more I don’t wanna be alone/ So hurt me some more I don’t wanna be alone/ Hurt me some more/ Why?/ Why?/ Why?” they collectively ask with a pleading in their voices.

According to Lainey Wilson, this unexpected collaboration came about after she and Steven Tyler met at the 2025 GRAMMYs and performed “Dream On” together at Tyler’s 6th annual Jam for Janie benefit in February. Then, while building out the One More Time project, Tyler and Yungblud had the idea to invite Wilson to add her vocals to the track, while Joe Perry returned to the studio to create a fresh guitar part for this version. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year happily took them up on the offer.

“Yeah, so I got to spend a little bit of time with Steven Tyler during the Grammys this past year and they reached out probably like a month or so ago. It was a really quick turnaround. But I mean, as soon as I heard the song, I was like, okay, I know what I want to do on my end. And they really just gave me some creative freedom, and I went at it. It’s gonna’ be fun. I’m ready to do it live with them. I’m like, okay, we gotta make that happen now. Where, when? Tell me what time. Let’s do it,” Wilson told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

 Yungblud echoed Wilson’s excitement to collaborate and bring a fresh rendition of the track to life. He gushed over her musical journey, admitting he’s been a fan of hers “for a while.”

 “I’m really hyped to have Lainey Wilson jump on this record with us,” he shared. “I have been a fan of her for a while. Her life story is truly inspirational. With this record, we really needed a female vocalist who could carry it with the level of authenticity that Lainey embodies. We needed a wild woman and we for sure got one!”   

The release of “Wild Woman” comes after the One More Time EP made a huge splash on the charts and became one of the biggest rock debuts of the year when it landed in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. This milestone extends Aerosmith’s incredible six-decade run of Top 10 Billboard 200 entries and gives Yungblud his first-ever Top 10 on the chart.

With nearly 40,000 units sold in its first week, the EP also hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums, topped Indie Store Album Sales, reached No. 2 on Vinyl Albums, and No. 3 on Top Album Sales. Internationally, it debuted at No. 1 in the UK, signaling Aerosmith’s first UK chart-topper in 49 years and Yungblud’s second UK No. 1 this year, while landing in the Top 5 in countries like Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

One More Time is monumental for Aerosmith as it marks their first new music in over twelve years. John Cena Gets Slammed – With Lawsuit Over Famous Intro Music

John Cena is now grappling with a legal showdown far from the squared circle after being accused of lifting a jazz horn riff from a 1974 recording to create his signature WWE entrance anthem, “The Time Is Now.”

A lawsuit filed by Kim Schofield claims the track’s iconic brass hook was built from an unauthorized sample of her late father Pete Schofield’s instrumental version of “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia.”

The suit names Cena, World Wrestling Entertainment, producer Jake One, TKO Group Holdings and music publisher Pix-Russ Music as defendants.

In the 32-page complaint, Kim Schofield accuses the group of “willful copyright infringement, fraudulent inducement, breach of contract and unjust enrichment.”

She alleges that Jake One looped and sampled the horn intro and outro of her father’s 1974 track, sections she says were original compositions unrelated to the Bobby Russell-penned song.

The lawsuit says WWE began using the beat in 2003, two years before any licensing deal existed and failed to disclose that fact during a later negotiation.

In 2017, WWE paid Schofield’s estate $50,000 to settle the issue, claiming the track had limited value. At the same time, the company was reportedly in talks to license the song for a Toyota commercial, a deal Schofield says was never disclosed to her.

Kim Schofield contends she was misled into signing the settlement while caring for her terminally ill mother and hospitalized husband. She says she only learned the full extent of the sample’s use after Jake One released a 2021 video explaining how he created the beat.

The suit also accuses WWE of breaching the 2017 agreement by releasing a new version of the song “Champ Is Here” that mimics the original horns with synthesizers. According to the complaint, WWE also failed to credit Pete Schofield or his PS Records label on newer merchandise and DVD releases.

In addition to Cena and WWE, the lawsuit targets the estate of Bobby Russell, specifically Pix-Russ Music and Cynthia Jo Russell, for collecting royalties on what Schofield alleges is her father’s original work. The complaint states they had “no creative connection” to the sampled material.

Schofield is asking the court to void the 2017 settlement, recognize her father as the rightful author of the horn sections, and order the defendants to turn over profits.

She is seeking damages of up to $150,000 per infringement, along with legal fees and an injunction to stop further use of the song.

Offset’s New Girlfriend Mocked After Hair-Snatching Fight With Influencer Who Said Rapper Tried To Set Up Stefon Diggs

Influencer Jordyn Goor allegedly clashed with Offset’s reported new girlfriend, Melanie Jayda, in a nightclub brawl after weeks of online tension tied to the rapper and a messy fallout involving an alleged setup with NFL star Stefon Diggs.

The alleged altercation, which played out both in person and across social media, erupted after Goor posted screenshots of threatening messages she claimed came from Jayda.

One of the alleged messages read, “B####. When I see you,” to which Goor sarcastically replied, “Are we gonna kiss?”

The digital exchange escalated quickly. Melanie Jayda allegedly followed up with, “I’m a f### you up so bad you not gon be recognizable,” prompting Jordyn Goor to respond, “I’ll probably be okay.”

Shortly after, Goor uploaded a clip to her Instagram Stories showing what appeared to be Jayda’s hair extension in her hand, suggesting the two had come to blows inside a club.

The footage, paired with the screenshots, sent social media into a frenzy. Melanie Jayda’s Instagram comments soon became overrun with users mocking her alleged loss in the fight.

One person wrote, “Girl, you got beat up behind offset?? Girllll,” while another added, “Offset sent you off and you got your weave snatched.”

Criticism didn’t stop with Jayda. Offset’s name quickly became a trending topic as users questioned his role in the chaos.

“We need to have an honest conversation about offset’s behaviour,” one person posted. “I know Cardi is happy to be out of his circus.”

The tension between Jordyn Goor and Melanie Jayda reportedly stems from a prior incident involving Offset and an alleged attempt to set up Stefon Diggs.

According to AllHipHop, Goor previously accused Offset of banning her from Miami after she exposed what she claimed was a plot to line up Stefon Diggs, who had just had a baby, and Offset’s estranged wife, Cardi B.

That situation laid the groundwork for the animosity that exploded this week.

Murderous Cop Derek Chauvin Says Police Lied Under Oath, Tries To Get Conviction Tossed

Derek Chauvin is once again trying to undo his murder conviction in the 2020 killing of George Floyd, this time alleging misconduct by prosecutors and flawed expert testimony in a new legal filing submitted in Minnesota.

The former Minneapolis police officer, who is serving overlapping state and federal sentences totaling more than 20 years, filed a petition for post-conviction relief on November 20.

His attorney, Gregory Joseph, argued in the court documents that Chauvin’s 2021 trial was riddled with errors that denied him a fair trial.

The filing claims prosecutors acted improperly and that expert medical witnesses gave inaccurate testimony about Floyd’s cause of death. It also accuses Minneapolis police officials of lying under oath when they testified that the knee-to-neck restraint Chauvin used was not part of department training.

Chauvin, 42, became a national symbol of police violence after a video showed him pressing his knee into Floyd’s neck for over nine minutes on May 25, 2020. His legal team now contends that the restraint was consistent with MPD policy at the time and that testimony to the contrary amounted to perjury.

The petition also challenges the presentation of video evidence to the jury and disputes the instructions jurors received before deliberations. Chauvin’s attorneys argue that these elements, when combined, deprived him of due process.

This isn’t Chauvin’s first attempt to overturn the conviction. In 2023, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear his appeal.

He was found guilty by a Hennepin County jury in 2021 of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. He later pleaded guilty in federal court to violating Floyd’s civil rights.

Jeremy O. Harris Arrested In Japan Over Drug Allegations

Jeremy O. Harris was arrested at Okinawa’s Naha Airport on November 16 after Japanese customs agents allegedly discovered less than a gram of MDMA in his tote bag, according to Reuters. The 36-year-old playwright and actor has remained in custody for nearly three weeks as authorities move forward with possible criminal charges.

The Slave Play creator and Emily in Paris cast member had traveled from the United Kingdom with a layover in Taiwan before arriving in Japan for what officials said was a personal trip. A spokesperson for Okinawa Regional Customs confirmed the arrest and said Harris is suspected of violating Japan’s strict narcotics laws.

An official at the Tomigusuku police station told Reuters Harris has been held since the arrest but declined to say whether he has admitted to the allegations. On Thursday, local prosecutors received a formal criminal complaint from customs officials, marking the beginning of the legal process.

Japan enforces some of the most rigid drug laws among developed nations, with harsh penalties for even minor possession or smuggling offenses. The country’s zero-tolerance stance has led to lengthy detentions and criminal charges for other foreign nationals caught with small amounts of controlled substances.

Harris rose to prominence in 2018 with Slave Play, which earned a Tony nomination for Best Play. He’s also known for producing episodes of HBO’s Euphoria, co-writing the film Zola, and appearing in Gossip Girl and What We Do in the Shadows.

As of Thursday, Harris remains in custody in Okinawa while prosecutors consider formal charges.

GloRilla & Young Thug Back On Good Terms: “We Cool”

GloRilla and Young Thug have officially buried the hatchet after a leaked jailhouse call earlier this year ignited a public fallout between the two Hip-Hop artists.

The tension began when a recorded phone call from Young Thug surfaced in September, where the Atlanta rapper dismissed GloRilla with harsh words after she was compared to Rihanna. “That bch ugly as fk,” he said. “They say she ain’t ugly, man that b**ch ain’t nothing… I would not pursue her, like at all.”

The clip quickly went viral online, prompting Thug to issue a public apology via X (formerly Twitter). “First of all I’m sorry to u for my words and I honestly don’t think ur ugly at all, I was speaking from jail just having a hard time with life,” he wrote. “I don’t like bashing girls and hardly ever did. I’m sorry to u twin.”

GloRilla didn’t let the insult slide quietly. She clapped back on her track, “Brianna,” where she referred to Thug as “Jamaican Vegeta.” But despite the lyrical jab, the two eventually reconnected and hashed things out in private.

Speaking to Complex, GloRilla confirmed the two have made peace. “We cool, we cool,” she said. “It was a funny conversation. I don’t take a lot of stuff too serious. Like, I joke, especially if it ain’t no death or fighting matter, nothing like that. I ain’t going to take it too serious.”

Thug followed up with another apology on his track “I Miss My Dogs,” further signaling his remorse.

Now that the dust has settled, GloRilla says a collaboration might not be off the table. “We’ll see about it,” she teased.

According to Billboard, the two artists reached an understanding following a private conversation, marking a truce that could open the door to future collaborations.
