Pooh Shiesty Released Early From Prison After Serving Three Years

Pooh Shiesty stepped back into the spotlight this week after being released early from federal prison, cutting short a five-year sentence tied to a 2020 shooting in Florida.

The 24-year-old Memphis rapper walked free after serving roughly three years of a 63-month sentence for conspiracy to possess firearms in connection with violent and drug-related crimes.

His original release date was scheduled for April 2026, but his early exit has sparked buzz across social media, especially after videos surfaced of him celebrating at a welcome-home party on Monday night (October 6).

Clips from the event show Pooh Shiesty surrounded by friends and posing for photos in front of a “welcome home” sign.

He’s also seen flashing stacks of cash alongside fellow Memphis rappers Big30 and K Carbon, who shared the moment on Instagram. The trio appeared to be filming a music video, hinting that new material could be on the way.

Although the U.S. Bureau of Prisons hasn’t confirmed the details of his release, reports suggest the rapper may now be living in a halfway house.

Pooh Shiesty Avoids Life Sentence

The case that landed Shiesty behind bars stemmed from an October 2020 incident at the Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Prosecutors said Shiesty and two others arranged a meeting to buy marijuana and designer sneakers, but the deal turned violent.

One man was shot in the buttocks, and Shiesty was later charged with multiple felonies, including armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Initially released on bond, Shiesty was later taken into federal custody. In January 2022, he pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. The plea deal helped him avoid a potential life sentence, and three other charges were dropped.

Shiesty, a Gucci Mane protégé signed to 1017 Records, rose to fame with his 2020 track “Back in Blood” featuring Lil Durk.

His legal troubles put a pause on his rising career, but with his release, speculation is already growing about a return to music.
