Why Quinnen Williams Extension Could Prove That Cowboys Won Micah Parsons Trade

Colin Cowherd is ready to ask a question that some thought might have been unimaginable a year ago: Did the Dallas Cowboys actually win the Micah Parsons trade? A day after the Cowboys extended four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to a three-year, $105.9 million deal, Cowherd thinks there’s momentum building toward the idea that Dallas won its trade with the Green Bay Packers. “People were freaking out about the Micah Parsons trade. I would make an argument by October or Thanksgiving, the Dallas Cowboys, it could be official, won the Micah Parsons deal,” Cowherd said on Tuesday’s edition of “The Herd.” “You got Quinnen Williams, a Pro Bowl defensive tackle. By the way, when they traded Micah, initially, the Cowboys got worse. That gave them a better draft pick. That draft pick became Caleb Downs, who, to me, is the steal of the draft. I think there’s an argument he could be the best player in the draft. “You don’t get that if the Cowboys had two or three more wins [last season]. … We overvalue non-quarterback stars in this league.” The Cowboys acquired the star defensive tackle in a trade with the New York Jets ahead of the trade deadline last season, using some of the draft capital they got in the deal with the Packers for Parsons. Dallas received defensive tackle and three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 from Green Bay for Parsons. Then, they traded a 2027 first-round pick, a 2026 second-round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith to the Jets for Williams. As for the 2026 first-round pick the Cowboys received from the Packers, the Cowboys selected UCF Knights linebacker Malachi Lawrence with the No. 23 pick after a trade-back. Earlier in the draft, they traded up one spot to select Ohio State Buckeyes safety Caleb Downs with the No. 11 pick. The Packers, meanwhile, saw Parsons have an encouraging debut season with the franchise, logging 12.5 sacks, earning his third career All-Pro honor and finishing third among edge defenders in overall grade (91.9), according to Pro Football Focus. However, Parsons’ 2025 campaign ended after 14 games due to a torn ACL, which is expected to keep him off the field for at least the first month of the 2026 season. With Parsons sidelined, the Packers lost their last five combined games of the season (regular season and postseason), ending with an NFC wild-card round loss to the Chicago Bears. The two teams actually faced off in Week 4 of last season, playing to a 40-40 tie. Granted, the Cowboys went on to miss the playoffs for a second consecutive season, and their defense finished last in points allowed. However, with the reinforcements Dallas has received thanks to the Parsons trade, Cowherd thinks the Cowboys are on the rise. “I look at the Cowboys’ roster, between Caleb Downs, Quinnen Williams and the roster flexibility, this is the best team they’ve had, in terms of overall talent, arguably in a decade,” Cowherd later said. “The Cowboys are in a good spot.”Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Jeffrey Epstein Claimed That Trump Ran For President to Obtain ‘Money, Sex, …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Donald Trump may have had something other than politics on his mind when he launched his first presidential campaign.

According to author Michael Wolff, Trump’s 2015 decision to run for the White House was largely about one thing: staying famous.

And Wolff says that assessment came from a rather infamous source.

In a new Substack column, the Trump biographer detailed conversations he had with Jeffrey Epstein about Trump, including the disgraced financier’s reaction when his former friend announced his presidential campaign.

At the time, Trump was still the star of The Apprentice. But according to Wolff, Epstein believed Trump was worried that his television career was beginning to fade.

“Epstein knew that Trump’s star turn on The Apprentice was fading and that he urgently needed a new platform for the promotion of Donald Trump,” Wolff wrote.

In other words, according to Wolff’s account, Trump wasn’t necessarily dreaming of becoming president.

Instead, he was looking for his next big platform.

Wolff claims Epstein believed Trump had always been primarily motivated by fame, money, and sex. And not in that order.

“Donald has never spent a moment in which being seen was not his main goal,” Wolff recalled Epstein telling him. “Money, sex, fame, it’s in that order.”

Wolff also claimed Epstein believed Trump’s fascination with former Presidents Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy was connected to their reputations as powerful men who were almost as famous for their personal lives.

And while Epstein may have viewed Trump’s presidential campaign as another attempt to remain relevant, he apparently wasn’t amused by the prospect of Trump actually winning.

“You don’t understand, it’s Donald Trump. No shame. Do you understand how powerful that is?” Epstein allegedly told Wolff.

That concern apparently became even more significant after Trump won the 2016 election.

Wolff has previously described Epstein as being both fascinated and frightened by Trump. He also claims Epstein believed Trump had tipped off Palm Beach police about his activities, a claim that Trump has not acknowledged.

Trump and Epstein had been friends for years before their relationship deteriorated.

The Trump administration isn’t buying Wolff’s version of events.

White House spokesperson Lauren Bis called the author’s claims “lazy and false.”

She argued that Trump already had a successful television career when he entered politics and said he launched his campaign because he believed the country needed a change.

“President Trump declared his candidacy because he loves America,” Bis said (via Radar Online).

Trump has also maintained that he was never particularly close to Epstein and has said he cut ties with the convicted sex offender after Epstein’s 2008 conviction.

Still, Epstein’s relationship with Trump continues to generate controversy more than six years after his death.

And according to Wolff, the late financier had some very strong opinions about the man who would eventually become president.

Jeffrey Epstein Claimed That Trump Ran For President to Obtain ‘Money, Sex, … was originally published on The Hollywood Gossip.

WATCH: Ella Langley Joins Local Band for Impromptu Performance During St. Thomas Getaway

Ella Langley traded the stage for a tropical getaway this weekend, making the most of some rare downtime with a trip to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Alabama native traveled to Bolongo Bay with a group of friends, where she enjoyed some much-needed time away from her busy touring schedule. But even while on vacation, Langley couldn’t resist the opportunity to grab a mic and show off her vocals.

A video shared by Bolongo Bay Beach Resort captured Langley joining the local house band, Reggae Dynasty, during a night out at the iconic Iggies Beach Bar. Donning a sparkly mini dress, she soaked up every second of the spontaneous performance as they delivered a rendition of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Three Little Birds.”

The resort shared its excitement over the unexpected appearance, calling it a “special, fun night” and thanking Langley and her friends for stopping by and bringing some “good vibes” to the popular beach bar, which has been family owned since 1974.

The caption read, “This actually happened! Thank you to @ellalangleymusic & her super wonderful friends for stopping by @iggiesbeachbar and spreading the love and good vibes with us on one of their last evenings in St. Thomas. Imagine our joy and gratitude when she spontaneously started singing a duet with our beloved local band, Reggae Dynasty! Such a special, fun night for everyone. This is what Iggies is all about ❤️ we’re thankful to be back!”

Langley’s destination vacation took place during a gap in her busy 2026 tour schedule. The songstress spent the spring and summer months performing as an opener on Morgan Wallen’s Still The Problem Tour and taking the stage for her own headlining tour, Dandelion, which was recently extended to run through October.

Additionally, the impressive achievements continue to roll in for the hitmaker. This week Ella Langley’s  “Choosin’ Texas’” spent its 17th week at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. This feat makes it the longest-running No. 1 hit by a female artist in this century, the only country song by a woman to triple up and go #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Hot Country and Country Airplay charts simultaneously and the fourth-longest-running chart-topper in the Hot 100’s 68-year history.

Fans can expect Langley to return to the road this weekend with three nights across Texas. She’s set to perform at the Moody Center on August 13, The Hilliard Center on August 14 and Dickies Arena on August 15.

Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Unveils Class of 2026, Reveals Taylor Swift as Youngest Inductee Ever

Taylor Swift is making history once again. The superstar is set to become the youngest inductee ever into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame as part of the organization’s Class of 2026.

Mark Ford, the organization’s executive director, announced the 2026 class during a press conference at Belmont University’s R. Milton and Denice Johnson Center. Swift, alongside her fellow honorees, Lyle Lovett, Bruce Channel, Shawn Camp and Lee Thomas Miller will be formally inducted during the invitation-only 56th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala taking place this fall.

The five electees behind the hits “Cruel Summer,” “She’s No Lady,” “Hey! Baby!,” “Two Piña Coladas,” and “In Color” will join the 254 previously inducted members of the organization.

“This is always one of the most anticipated days on our calendar – the annual reveal of our incoming class,” says Ford. “We’re excited to once again add new names to a legendary list that began more than a half century ago.”

Swift was selected in the contemporary songwriter/artist category, alongside veteran songwriter/artist Lovett, while Camp and Miller were elected in the contemporary songwriter category and Channel in the veteran songwriter category.

Taylor Swift

The honor marks another major milestone in Swift’s already history-making songwriting career. The Pennsylvania-born, Nashville-raised artist has built a catalog largely centered around her own songwriting, with credits behind some of her biggest hits including “Cruel Summer,” “White Horse” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Shawn Camp

Shawn Camp is an Arkansas native best known for writing country music staples like “A Beautiful Time” (Willie Nelson), “How Long Gone” (Brooks & Dunn), and “Two Piña Coladas” (Garth Brooks).

Lee Thomas Miller

Kentucky native Lee Thomas Miller has built an impressive songwriting résumé with hits including Jamey Johnson’s “In Color,” Joe Nichols’ “The Impossible” and Trace Adkins’ “You’re Gonna Miss This.”

Bruce Channel

Bruce Channel, a Texas native, has become known for his work penning hits such as his own “Hey! Baby!,” along with “Stand Up,” recorded by Mel McDaniel, and John Conlee’s “As Long As I’m Rockin’ With You.”

Lyle Lovett

Lyle Lovett, also from Texas, has made his mark with a catalog of self-penned hits, including “She’s No Lady,” “Cowboy Man” and “You Can’t Resist It.”

INDYCAR Power Rankings: Which Drivers Are Best At Chasing Alex Palou?

The stretch to the finish has begun. And everyone continues to chase Alex Palou. The reigning champion earned his sixth victory of the season Sunday at Portland International Raceway. Kyle Kirkwood and Christian Lundgaard are two of the drivers chasing him and they both moved up these rankings. Lundgaard had a hybrid issue in qualifying and started 25th before working his way to ninth in the race. Now, the series heads to Markham, the new Ontario (Canada) stop that takes the place of Toronto. Here are my power rankings with four weekends (five races) left in the season. Dropped out: Pato O’Ward (Last Week: 6) On the verge: Pato O’Ward, Nolan Siegel, Kyffin Simpson Power finished third in a strong performance at Portland. He has four top 10s (with a pair of thirds) in his last five starts. McLaughlin had a workman-like Portland weekend with a disappointing qualifying. He started 13th but was able to gain spots and finish seventh in the race. It was his fifth top 10 in his last seven starts. Armed with a newly announced contract extension, Ericsson’s rebound season continued with a sixth-place finish at Portland. It was his fourth top 10 in his last six starts. For the third time in the last six races, VeeKay earned a fourth-place finish. These aren’t flukes; he made the Fast Six at Portland and at Mid-Ohio last month. Rosenqvist won the pole and finished second at Portland for his first podium and fourth top 10 since he won the Indianapolis 500. Malukas, saddled by a six-spot grid penalty for exceeding the engine limits, had just his third finish of the season where he placed outside the top 10 as he ended up 12th at Portland. No longer needing crutches to get around, Newgarden salvaged a decent day after starting 14th and finishing eighth at Portland. Kirkwood placed fifth at Portland, a place where he qualified 19th and finished 20th a year ago. So he was happy with that even though he lost ground to Palou in the championship race. A ninth-place finish typically doesn’t result in moving up in the top five of the rankings. But the fact he caboosed the field at the start shows just how strong Lundgaard was at Portland. After his sixth win, Palou has a 110-point lead in the standings. He can be average the rest of the season and win the championship. And there is nothing average about Palou.Latest Sports News from FOX Sports
