Kaitlin Butts Embraces Her Wild Side On ‘I Wanna Be Bad,’ Previewing Just-Announced Album, ‘Hello, Honky Tonk’

Kaitlin Butts is throwing responsibility out the window and embracing her wild side with her latest single, “I Wanna Be Bad.” The rowdy new track also gives fans a glimpse into the Tulsa-born singer/songwriter’s just announced album, Hello, Honky Tonk, arriving October 30 via Republic Records.

Following the release of “Never Really Mine,” “I Wanna Be Bad” takes on a more rebellious approach as Butts sings about stepping away from her good girl ways and giving herself permission to have a little fun with neon lights, tequila and maybe even a little flirting.

The track penned by Butts with Natalie Hemby centers around a woman who is tired of always being the dependable one. After spending her days working hard and doing what’s expected of her, she decides it’s time to try living on the wild side. Butts brings a hard-hitting, upbeat energy to “I Wanna Be Bad,” pairing her confident, carefree vocals with a sound that’s country from start to finish.

“Oh, and sometimes/ I wanna go crazy/ Oh, and sometimes I wanna go maniac mad/ I wanna smoke and drink and party and dance all on the floor/ Maybe kiss a cowboy/ Maybe even more/ Oh, sometimes I wanna be bad,” Butts sings on the chorus.

The song arrives alongside an equally wild and rebellious music video, directed by Butts and frequent collaborator Chris Beyrooty. Shot at Nashville’s Cross-Eyed Critters karaoke bar, the video brings the song’s don’t-care attiude to life with Texas-sized beers, line dancing, drag queens and even animatronic animals.

The over-the-top visual and confidence-soaked lyrics give listeners a preview into the world Butts is creating with Hello, Honky Tonk, her fourth studio album set to capture the honky tonk atmosphere that has influenced her music and become a major part of her life on the road.

The collection also taps into Butts’ theater days as a child, as it was inspired by the vaudeville-style vignettes that she loved from the movie musical Chicago, blended with a touch of the nostalgia from Disney World’s beloved Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

“The thought behind the concept was how in Chicago, the character Roxie Hart is dreaming up what her show would look like and all the people in it,” says Butts.

She recently took a trip to see the original Jamboree before it was updated and immediately saw herself in one of the characters in the Nashville-inspired stage show.

“When Teddi Barra came down from the ceiling on her swing, my mom and I just looked at each other and I was like, ‘That is me,’” she recalled. “I picture all of this happening at Skinny Dennis here in Nashville,” she says of a popular honky tonk in Music City.  “These are all the different people in the room. There’s the bar fight that’s happening. There’s the bad girl that just got off work. There’s me being the entertainer. There are so many people that really love the night life. It’s a connector for people.”

The new album comes during a busy year for Butts, who has continued to showcase her versatility both onstage and behind the scenes. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Willow Avalon for “Hypothetically Speaking,” appeared in Ella Langley’s award-winning “Choosin’ Texas” music video, co-directed and wrote the treatment for Flatland Cavalry’s “Unglued” video, and joined The Band Perry for a new take on their hit “You Lie.”

Hello, Honky Tonk will serve as Butts’ first full-length album since signing with Republic Records in October 2025. She previously released The Yeehaw Sessions, a fan-favorite EP that put her own genre-bending spin on songs including Chappell Roan’s “Red Wine Supernova,” Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle,” The Chicks’ “Sin Wagon” and Don Williams’ “Tulsa Time.” The project also featured her viral track “You Ain’t Gotta Die (To Be Dead To Me),” which has surpassed 157 million TikTok views and 67 million global streams.

Butts is currently on a run of festival and fair appearances, while also serving as a special guest opener on Ella Langley’s The Dandelion Tour.

Hailey Dempsey Shot Mom, Kids, Self After Finding Explicit Content on Husband’s …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A harrowing report out of Florida described a Hailey Dempsey killing her mother, two of her children, and attempting to kill a third before taking her own life.

Now, an odd update in the case may shed light on what was going on before the triple-murder-suicide.

According to investigators, ahead of the homicides, Dempsey got into a fearsome argument with her husband.

The confrontation was about … porn. What?

It was a triple-murder-suicide, and it was almost worse

On May 3, 2026, 27-year-old Hailey Dempsey killed her 55-year-old mother, Valerie DeBoe, and then two of her children, police say.

Dempsey carried out these killings using a gun.

The first victim was her mother, before she fled DeBoe’s Tampa residence with her kids — only to turn her firearm on them.

One of the victims was her 4-month-old. The other was her 4-year-old.

Investigators determined that Dempsey also attempted to fatally shoot her 2-year-old, but missed.

Moments later, police say, Dempsey died by suicide using the same gun.

Family annihilators are stereotypically men who feel that they’ve lost control or that their status is in jeopardy due to their family, but it is not unheard of for a woman to do this.

(People are complex and gender is far from one-size-fits-all, but societal expectations related to men, power, and status are very different.)

Often, but not always, severe mental illness is a factor.

Across social media, numerous people have brought up that Dempsey had a 4-month-old baby, questioning if what transpired may have been related to postpartum psychosis.

This was not about her husband’s phone (but that fight was likely a symptom)

On Thursday, August 13, Plant City Police Chief Richard Mills held a press conference following the conclusion of the investigation.

Mills confirmed what we now know about Dempsey’s final moments and the lives that police say that she took with her.

Additionally, he shared that police had responded to the Dempsey home three times in the days leading up to the triple-murder-suicide.

Mills detailed that two days before the shooting, on May 1, Dempsey and her husband, Jay, had a “verbal altercation” over porn on his cell phone.

He headed off any assumptions, clarifying: “It wasn’t cheating or anything like that, evidently it was just porn, and they were having an argument over that. I think that’s what everything stemmed from.”

Jay, the husband, had spent the previous night at a friend’s house amidst conflicts with his wife.

Sometimes, people get bent out of shape over harmless things, including pornography. But it’s important to emphasize that whatever was on Jay’s phone is not to blame.

It’s clear that Hailey Dempsey urgently needed help — perhaps several types of help — in the days, weeks, and perhaps months leading up to this senseless tragedy.

Now, her family has lost her mother, two of her children, and the woman herself. A woman who might have made very different choices, if we can even call these final moments of violence “choices.”

Our hearts go out to surviving loved ones. Especially to the 2-year-old whom Dempsey “narrowly missed” before taking her own life.

Jessica Simpson Hopes Tony Romo Will Get Sober After Drunk Driving Arrest: Report

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Last month, Tony Romo was arrested on OWI (operating while intoxicated) charges in his home state of Wisconsin.

Shortly thereafter, Romo was placed on leave by CBS, and it’s unclear what sort of consequences might still await him.

Whatever the case, it seems that Tony’s most famous ex is hoping that this moment will turn out to be his rock bottom.

As you may recall, Tony dated Jessica Simpson for two years, beginning in 2007.

Romo was at the peak of his NFL career, and he and Jessica reportedly parted on contentious terms.

These days, Jessica is sober after having battled alcoholism for several years.

And according to a new report from Radar Online, she believes that Tony is also a problem drinker, and she hopes his arrest will serve as a wake-up call.

“Jessica ultimately wishes Tony no harm, and she’s thrilled that this moment — which is, no doubt, embarrassing, could lead him to finally find the same path that has worked so well for her,” a source tells the outlet.

The insider went on to allege that Tony “ushered” Jessica into a world of heavy drinking while they were both in their twenties.

“She was out of control in those days, and Tony was like the Pied Piper of partying and ushered her into a world where alcohol often played a major role,” the source claimed, adding:

“Even after they split, it was too late for her to stop; the die had been cast and drinking to excess had become a rotten way of life that she couldn’t seem to quit.”

Now, it’s important to note that alcoholics are not vampires, and they don’t have the ability to transform other grown adults into problem drinkers.

So if — all these years later — Jessica is still blaming Tony for the fact that she fell into addiction, she might want to examine that impulse.

After all, recovery, as any addict will tell you, begins with accountability.

Of course, Jessica has not said any of these things publicly, and if she still thinks about Tony at all these days, we’re sure she wishes him well. After all, they broke up 17 years ago, and Jess went on to marry a different football player (from whom she’s now divorced).

And if Simpson does believe that Romo has a problem with booze, we’re sure she has nothing but sympathy for his plight.

For now, it remains unclear if Tony will return to the broadcast booth at any point in the 2026 NFL season. For Week 1, J.J. Watt will take his place next to Jim Nantz.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

Former NFL Lineman Jared Odrick Finding ‘New Purpose’ In Racing

Markham, Ontario — Jared Odrick is about 50 pounds lighter than when he was playing in the NFL at around 300-315 pounds. But the 38-year-old still stands at 6-foot-5. And for a man that tall who weighs about 250 pounds, getting into a race car can be tough. In fact, when he was in Las Vegas several years ago and attended a racing experience, he could only fit into a GT3 Porsche. But it was that trip that helped fuel his love of fast cars. He later bought a 901.1 Porsche Cup so that he could compete in SCAA amateur racing about four years ago. Odrick has progressed to a successful racer in TransAm and will make his second career NASCAR Canada Series start on Saturday on the streets of Markham, where INDYCAR is the headliner this weekend. “We had to move the footbox back a few inches,” Odrick said during a virtual news conference earlier this week. “The seat was good. The height was good. But just the length for the legs had to be adjusted. … Sliding through the window is kind of difficult. “I have a former football injury where I tore my labrum in my right shoulder, so I have some scar tissue there. But I also have a little bit of extra flexibility that I might not be able to have unless I had that happen that allowed me to get into the car.” Having played seven years in the NFL where he totaled 170 tackles (135 solo) for the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 2010 first-round pick from Penn State finished 22nd in his series debut last week at Trois-Rivieres. He was running well until getting collected in a wreck. “The competition was high, but we were so happy to see how competitive we were in a racing situation and how good the car was late in the race,” Odrick said. Odrick would love to race Cup one day but he isn’t focused on it. Currently driving for BC Race Cars in NASCAR’s stock car series in Canada, he just wants to keep competing no matter the series, whether it’s in NASCAR’s international series or in any national series. He does feel he could compete on any level if given the time to properly train and prepare with a team. He has competed against some of the top NASCAR prospects on road courses. “Everybody says they want to get to Cup, especially with the young drivers I’m driving against in TransAm,” Odrick said. “Sometimes when you’re competing against 15-, 16-year-old kids — whether it’s the Tristan McKees, Thomas Annunziatas and Brent Crews and stuff like that — sometimes you look and feel silly that your goals and aspirations are the same as a 16-year-old kid who hasn’t got a chance or is trying to actively prove themselves as a man. “Then you sit there. ‘Did I not do that with the NFL?’” With a home in Toronto near the clinic and a doctor who has treated him throughout his athletic career, Odrick said he wants to show he can switch to another sport. “I don’t miss playing the game,” Odrick said about football. “It’s a young man’s game, and I think if I missed it at 38 years old, I’d be doing something wrong. … Racing definitely has given my life new meaning, new purpose. “And it feels like a lot of the discipline that I missed as a young 20-something professional football player, I’m definitely thinking about a lot.”Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Gavin Adcock Dedicates Vulnerable New Song ‘Shoes’ to His Mom on Her Birthday

Gavin Adcock is showing fans a more vulnerable side with the release of his heartfelt new song, “Shoes.”

Written by Adcock and Jon Michael McKinnon, “Shoes” delivers a message many listeners can relate to: financial success doesn’t always equate to a fulfilling life. Throughout the song, the Georgia native reflects on how some people work “real hard” while “barely getting by,” while acknowledging that despite appearing to have it all, he may be missing out on some of life’s most meaningful moments.

“I’m up to my neck in things that just don’t matter/ Spent the young days of my life trying to climb an endless ladder/ Hard to think, a man like me, well, I ain’t got too much to lose/ But what I’d give for just one day if I could end up in your shoes,” he sings.

The stripped-back production lets the emotion of the song really shine, keeping the focus on Adcock’s vocals and the heartfelt lyrics.

“‘Shoes’ is about how everybody looks in the mirror and for some reason thinks their life isn’t good enough. They look at other people and think the grass is greener on the other side,” Adcock shares. “It’s a reminder for everybody that we’ve only got one life. Live it. Love it. Make the best out of it!”

Following the song’s release, the singer-songwriter took to social media to reveal that “Shoes” holds an especially personal meaning. Adcock dedicated the new song to his mom, who is celebrating her birthday today.

“Happy birthday to my beautiful Mama,” he wrote alongside a photo gallery of the two of them together. “I know I ain’t gonna make it home to see you today but I dedicate this new song to you. Y’all wish her a happy birthday with me.”
