Jelly Roll has been named the 2026 recipient of the Artist Humanitarian Award by the Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB). The three-time GRAMMY nominee will be honored at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, taking place March 18–20.

Jelly Roll is being honored for his heartfelt dedication to addiction recovery, mental health, and giving back to the community, efforts that go well beyond his music.

The “Need a Favor” singer has made giving back a central part of his mission since rising to fame, advocating for juveniles in detention centers across the country and in Nashville. He has also returned to speak with inmates nationwide, including at the Nashville facility where he was once incarcerated. Most recently, he visited the Davidson County detention center to serve holiday meals to inmates and staff.

The Nashville native previously attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Nashville Juvenile Court and has pledged to donate one of his GRAMMY awards to the facility, hoping to inspire the youth and show them that they, too, can chase their dreams.       

Founded in 1990, the award recognizes country artists whose philanthropic efforts have made a meaningful difference in the causes they support. 

Past honorees include Eric Church, Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, and more.

With CRS 2026 just around the corner, this is the final chance to register online. After this week, tickets will only be available on-site in Nashville.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is set to open its latest annual exhibition, American Currents: State of the Music, offering a look at standout moments and innovative developments in country music that took place across 2025.

Each year, American Currents highlights the evolution of country music over the past 12 months, showcasing artist achievements and standout events. The exhibit features chart-topping albums and singles, top-grossing tours, and interactive touchscreens that spotlight key moments from awards shows.

The museum’s curators and editorial staff are tasked with choosing the stories, instruments, iconic outfits from performances and more that best represent the genre’s ongoing growth from the various moments and putting it all on display inside the museum’s ACM Gallery.

“It’s central to our mission at the museum to report on country music — not just its storied past but also what’s happening right now,” said Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. “We present stories of collaboration, perseverance and innovation from emerging artists and established luminaries — and the instruments, stage wear and personal items that bring those stories to life. American Currents is a testament to the constant vitality of the music.”

Included in American Currents is a carefully curated selection of artists, musicians, and songwriters who had a hand in shaping the country music scene in 2025.

Those being represented with objects this year include the Biscuits & Banjos festival, Jason Carter and Michael Cleveland, Tyler Childers, Charley Crockett, Sierra Ferrell, Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill, Ashley Gorley, Charlie Handsome, Sierra Hull, I’m With Her, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Ella Langley, MJ Lenderman, Megan Moroney, Ringo Starr, Billy Strings, Zach Top, Morgan Wallen, Waxahatchee, Wednesday, Jesse Welles, Lainey Wilson and Stephen Wilson Jr.

With this esteemed selection of artists officially announced today, Top took to his Instagram stories to express how much it means to be a part of such an esteemed exhibit.

“Honored to be included in the new installment of “American Currents: State of the Music” at the Country Music Hall of Fame,” he wrote.

Additionally, the exhibit will display video highlights that capture standout performances, events and collaborations, such as Julien Baker and TORRES, BigXthaPlug (Xavier Landum) and Bailey Zimmerman, Alison Brown and Steve Martin, and Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll, along with clips spotlighting Kaitlin Butts, Luke Combs, Farm Aid, the Grand Ole Opry, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, among some of the others who are mentioned above.

Visitors can also experience the “Unbroken Circle” section, which features the musical connections between artists and those who have inspired them or share their vision within the evolving music scene. Parings include Ken Pomeroy and John Denver, Carter Faith and Country Music Hall of Fame member Tammy Wynette and Muscadine Bloodline and Turnpike Troubadours.

Running from Wednesday, March 18 through January 2027, viewers will have the chance to explore the latest installment of the exhibit, which is included with museum admission. To coincide with the grand opening, the museum will host special programming, including a Songwriter Session with Carter Faith on March 21 and a Musician Spotlight with Sierra Hull on March 22. Dwight Yoakam has addressed fans after a Lubbock, TX, show ran over an hour and a half late on Thursday (Feb. 12). In a new statement shared across social media, he explained that the delay was caused by a frightening plane emergency before takeoff and said he wanted to “personally” apologize that the information was not communicated more clearly to the audience at the time.

The country singer began by acknowledging that it wasn’t until today that he fully understood why fans in attendance at the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences were so frustrated in the moment. He explained that updates about his late arrival hadn’t been communicated clearly at the time, and instead, only a “vague anonymous PA announcement” was made.

While a packed crowd was waiting for him, he says the plane he had boarded was facing an emergency in the cockpit, causing the crew to abort takeoff.

“What actually happened Thursday afternoon was that we had an emergency takeoff abort as the aircraft was about to lift off from the runway due to a mechanical failure warning in the cockpit.”

Luckily, the situation was quickly handled with “exceptional professional skill,” thus preventing any more serious or potentially catastrophic outcomes.

“After taxiing back to the hangar and concluding that the issue with the aircraft could not be corrected, we were luckily able to be moved to a different plane and continue our flight to the show in Lubbock approximately an hour and thirty minutes after my scheduled 9:00PM stage time,” he continued.

After the show took place, several fans in attendance returned to a Facebook post by the venue to share their experience, many of which voiced their dissatisfaction with the night.

One user noted that it was incredibly “unprofessional” behalf of the venue as only two announcements were made and attendees were not allowed re-entry

“As I look down on the audience I see a lot of empty seats where I’m sure people left. It will be a long time before I attend another event there,” the frustrated user wrote.

Another said, “we all waited and waited….and waited. Might have been less irritating if y’all had attempted to communicate.”

It seems that refunds were offered upon request and that the opening band attempted to keep the audience entertained for as long as possible. Under Yoakam’s recent post, fans simply expressed gratitude that everyone was safe in the end and stated that his kind words were greatly appreciated. One even noted that the show was “definitely worth the wait.”

Yoakam once again expressed his “sincere apologies” to everyone who was affected by the delay and not properly updated in the process.

“I am very sorry for any frustration and disappointment the delay caused,” he added.

This show marked the Kentucky native’s first headline show of 2026. He has several more headline shows on the books, as well as dates with ZZ Top for the Dos Amigos Tour. This trek

Begins March 26 in Brookings, SD and continues through May.
