Gavin Adcock is showing fans a more vulnerable side with the release of his heartfelt new song, “Shoes.”
Written by Adcock and Jon Michael McKinnon, “Shoes” delivers a message many listeners can relate to: financial success doesn’t always equate to a fulfilling life. Throughout the song, the Georgia native reflects on how some people work “real hard” while “barely getting by,” while acknowledging that despite appearing to have it all, he may be missing out on some of life’s most meaningful moments.

“I’m up to my neck in things that just don’t matter/ Spent the young days of my life trying to climb an endless ladder/ Hard to think, a man like me, well, I ain’t got too much to lose/ But what I’d give for just one day if I could end up in your shoes,” he sings.
The stripped-back production lets the emotion of the song really shine, keeping the focus on Adcock’s vocals and the heartfelt lyrics.
“‘Shoes’ is about how everybody looks in the mirror and for some reason thinks their life isn’t good enough. They look at other people and think the grass is greener on the other side,” Adcock shares. “It’s a reminder for everybody that we’ve only got one life. Live it. Love it. Make the best out of it!”
Following the song’s release, the singer-songwriter took to social media to reveal that “Shoes” holds an especially personal meaning. Adcock dedicated the new song to his mom, who is celebrating her birthday today.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful Mama,” he wrote alongside a photo gallery of the two of them together. “I know I ain’t gonna make it home to see you today but I dedicate this new song to you. Y’all wish her a happy birthday with me.”
“Shoes” marks the latest release from Adcock’s upcoming third studio album, The Day I Hang It Up, which is set to arrive October 2 via Thrivin Here Records/Warner Records Nashville. The new project follows Adcock’s rapid rise in country music, with the singer-songwriter having amassed more than 2.4 billion career streams to date.
Adcock is currently on the road for his headlining The Day I Hang It Up Tour, which features a rotating lineup of special guests, including Pecos & The Rooftops, Corey Kent, Tyler Nance, Jake Worthington, The Creekers, Braxton Keith and Mack Geiger.

A young Kane Brown fan got the surprise of a lifetime Wednesday night when she was picked to join the country star onstage during his concert in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Brown was performing at the Sandia Casino Amphitheatre at Sandia Resort & Casino on August 12, when he spotted 8-year-old Aubrey in the crowd. She was right near the front of the pit and held up a neon pink sign that read, “Can I Sing ‘Thank God’ With You?”

Aubrey’s mom Christina captured the moment and shared it to her TikTok page. The video shows the crowd parting so the young girl could move toward the front, where Brown helped her up to the stage. He then took her hand, led her to the center and gave her a microphone.
The girl showed no fear as she stood before the massive crowd. He let her introduce herself to the audience and then made sure she knew that she was filling in for a “special person” with the performance, referring to his wife and duet partner, Katelyn Brown, who was not in attendance for this show.
“Kate, my wife, she’s not here. So you are filling big shoes. You got it? She’s confident,” Brown said as Aubrey nodded in approval.

The superstar made sure she felt comfortable in that moment as he said “You got this. I’m right here beside you.”
As soon as the music started, Aubrey jumped in without hesitation, singing every word while dancing and smiling throughout the performance as well. Kane Brown then asked if she was ready to take on Katelyn’s solo portion of the song, and Aubrey confidently nodded her head once again before delivering the entire verse on her own. Brown beamed with pride as he watched her nail the solo and encouraged the crowd to cheer her on as she sang.
The pair then held hands as they moved into the chorus, ultimately finishing the song together to a roaring response from the audience.

At the end of the performance, Brown praised Aubrey for her impressive delivery and bravery, acknowledging how difficult it can be to step in front of a packed crowd and perform, especially at such a young age.
“Do you know how brave you have to be to come up here and sing in front of all these people? And you’re only eight years old. That’s so brave. Nice to meet you. Y’all give it up for her one more time,” Brown said, earning a roar of cheers from the crowd.
He made sure to autograph her sign and send her back into the crowd, but not before letting her mom know, “you got a brave little girl.”
“That’s my baby girl!!!! Thank you for sharing!!! We have dreamed of this moment!!,” Christina commented on another user’s video of the sweet duet.

Her mom also shared a few videos of her own leading up to the moment, sharing how Aubrey has been singing “Thank God” since it dropped in 2022 as well as many of his other songs.
“She knows all your songs by heart!!!,” Christina wrote.
In another post she gushed over her daughter’s big-onstage moment, writing, “she did amazing and was so brave! I’m so proud of her” and called the concert “A night we’ll remember for the rest of our life!”
Even though Katelyn Brown could not be present for this performance, it’s safe to say that the song was in good hands thanks to Aubrey’s stunning vocals.

Jordan Davis is back with his brand-new single, “Mess,” and once again, he delivers a song that’s impossible not to get pulled into.
Built around a smooth, seductive groove, “Mess” finds Davis caught between wanting to move on from an ex and being drawn back into the relationship he knows isn’t good for him. Just when he begins to heal and feels like he’s finally moving forward, he finds himself calling her up and giving in to the chemistry all over again. He knows exactly how it will end…with him picking up the pieces and becoming a “Mess” all over again, but he can’t seem to resist going back for one more round.

“I’m ten kinds of crazy for calling, but/ Baby, could you/ Make me undo all my never agains/ Make me believe that you need me and then/ Back me up down the hall, lock the door/ Shake the walls just ’cause you can/ Then go ahead leave me like the bed/ Make me a mess,” he sings.
“Mess” was written by Davis alongside Jacob Davis, Travis Wood and writer/producer Paul DiGiovanni and follows recent releases “Like God Intended” and a cover of James Bay’s international hit “Let It Go.”
The Louisiana native has been hard at work on a new album. In June, he revealed to Country Now that he had just cut the “first batch” of new songs for the project.
“We’re moving on to a new project. I’m excited about some of the songs I’ve written,” Davis told us backstage at CMA Fest.
The upcoming album will serve as the follow-up to his latest album, Learn The Hard Way, which produced three consecutive No. 1 singles with “I Ain’t Sayin’,” and “Bar None,” and “Turn This Truck Around.”
Now with 11 No.1 singles under his belt, the award-winning singer/songwriter is ready to show fans what’s next with the release of “Mess.”
Jordan Davis is currently touring across the U.S. through late October. Earlier this year, the singer-songwriter also took his music overseas for a string of sold-out international shows, including a stop at London’s OVO Arena Wembley, as well as a headlining run through the UK, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

Neil Perry, a former and founding member of The Band Perry, is speaking out about his departure from the group and his account of what led to the band’s latest chapter.
In a new series of Instagram posts, Neil held nothing back, claiming that he was “terminated” from The Band Perry after his sister, Kimberly Perry, wanted her husband, Johnny Costello, to join the group, which originally featured Neil, Kimberly and their brother, Reid.

In his post, Neil took fans back to 2024, when he says tensions within the family and band had reached a breaking point. According to Neil, in May 2024, “none of us were consistently on speaking terms” and “Reid had stopped engaging in both personal and business matters.”
Neil recalled, “Kimberly came to me about bringing the band out of hiatus, and we initially agreed that moving forward with Reid was not something we were prepared to do. Kimberly reached out to him, and he confirmed he was not interested.”
At that point, Neil says he was “presented with three options: move forward as a duo, hold auditions or have her husband step in. I was fine with the first two, but soon understood Kimberly wanted to move forward with the third. We ultimately decided not to proceed.”
Neil said several weeks passed before he was approached again, this time with Reid having reportedly agreed to rejoin the band during conversations in which Neil says he was not involved.
“I was given three days to decide whether I would continue under those circumstances. At the end of that three-day window, I asked for a conversation the following week and was told I was out of time,” he explained. “I was approached again a month later, but I could not move forward under those circumstances. At that point, I understood that continuing to tour was no longer realistically an option for me and I would soon be forced out by the 2/3 partnership agreement. What I did not agree to was losing my financial interest and access to the resources and business I had spent my life helping build. Shortly after the band signed a label deal, my brother left the band. What remained is my sister and her husband.”
Reflecting on that period of his life, Neil, who now performs as a solo artist under the name WOLVESofJUNE, wrote, “June 2024 took something from me. Something I had spent my entire life building. A band. A business. A family. A name.”
He claims that his decision not to participate in the band under those circumstances ultimately resulted in him “losing my financial interest and access to the band’s platforms, resources, and audience I had spent my life helping build.”
As he watched The Band Perry continue with Kimberly and Johnny, Neil said, “Then I watched a story emerge that didn’t resemble the one I lived.”
Following the experience, Neil said he channeled his anger into music and his grief into the songs he plans to release through WOLVESofJUNE, turning a difficult chapter into the foundation for his next musical endeavor.
