Rapper Preparing $10M Lawsuit Against Fashion Nova Over Alleged Design Theft?

Fashion Nova and litigation. It seems like they are married or estranged. The mega-brand, loved for its quick-turnaround fashions and equally criticized for “borrowing” too freely, might be stepping into yet another storm. Word has it that a certain rapper feels their designs were snatched, repurposed, and plastered on Nova’s site without the proper blessing. $10 million in damages is the big number. That’s not small change!

Now, let’s#### pause for a second. Fashion Nova has been down this road before. Their model is to tap into pop culture, run the trends through the machinery and get them on to us in record time. Sometimes that means licensing or collaborating with an artist or brand. Other times, it’s just… uncanny resemblance. With fashion, “nothing new under the sun” isn’t just a saying. But when someone with a big voice in Hip-Hop feels ripped off, that can turn into paperwork.

Here’s the thing: I’ve been hearing about this for a minute. A lawsuit was supposedly “on the way” but nothing has hit the courts yet. That makes this feel like one of those “wait and watch” situations. But those close to the situation keep saying litigation is being discussed in real numbers. I think it is going to happen, because this person is not playing.

What makes this interesting is the timing. Hip-Hop merch has become a real business, not just something to push on tour. For some artists, it’s their bread and butter! They must protect their designs. In this case, the rapper is working with a designer. A fast-fashion giant possibly has more money that we can imagine. But I am sure they cannot fathom losing their intellectual property or just rolling over. That’s just a fight waiting to happen. Cultural credibility will often clash with corporate cash. Maybe I need to rap!

So, what happens next? If this goes to court, we’ll finally get to peel back the curtain and see if there was indeed a bite taken out of the rapper’s creativity. I’ll also get to spill the beans on said rapper. Until then, it’s speculation. Fashion Nova is loved and sometimes hated. A $10 million bomb will shake everything up.

“What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun…”

EXCLUSIVE: Yella Beezy Presses Dallas Prosecutors For Informant Identities Ahead Of Mo3 Murder Trial

Defense Moves To Uncover Witnesses And Evidence

Yella Beezy is demanding Dallas County prosecutors release the identities of informants and witnesses as he prepares for trial in the capital murder case tied to the 2020 death of Mo3. Attorneys for the rapper, whose real name is Markies Conway, filed multiple motions requesting the court compel the state to turn over critical details before proceedings begin.

The defense is asking for the names and addresses of all potential witnesses—including any confidential informants—at least 20 days prior to the trial’s start date. Conway’s legal team is also seeking access to all evidence collected during the investigation, including lab reports, photographs and physical items.

Legal Team Seeks Statements And Pretrial Hearing

Conway’s attorneys want all statements he made to law enforcement, along with a pretrial hearing to determine whether those statements were made voluntarily. The defense is pushing for a judicial review to ensure Conway wasn’t coerced or misled during police questioning.

Another motion asks the court to disclose whether any witnesses received deals or incentives in exchange for their cooperation. The defense also wants to block the prosecution from introducing unrelated prior incidents unless a judge finds them relevant to the case.

In addition, the legal team is requesting full access to any materials used to refresh witnesses’ memories and a complete record of all evidence gathered during the investigation.

Capital Murder Charges Stem From Alleged Murder-For-Hire Plot

A Dallas County grand jury indicted Conway in March 2025 for capital murder with remuneration. Prosecutors allege he arranged the killing of Mo3 by paying Kewon White to carry out the shooting on Interstate 35E in Dallas on November 11, 2020. White and Devin Brown were arrested as co-defendants.

According to The Los Angeles Times, investigators claim Conway withdrew $40,000 in cash shortly before the shooting and cite surveillance video as part of the evidence linking him to the crime.

Conway Remains Under House Arrest

Conway was arrested on March 20, 2025, and initially held on a $2 million bond, later reduced to $750,000. He is currently under house arrest with GPS monitoring, according to Fox 4 News.

If found guilty, Conway could face the death penalty under Texas law. His trial is scheduled to begin February 2, 2026.

D4vd Update: Celeste Rivas Death Certificate Uncovers Pregnancy Detail

Celeste Rivas was not pregnant at the time of her death, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, who released a death certificate that directly refutes widespread online rumors surrounding the 18-year-old whose dismembered body was found inside the trunk of a Tesla in the Hollywood Hills.

The disturbing discovery was made on September 8, when authorities located Rivas’ remains in a vehicle registered to D4vd, a rising Hip-Hop artist. The car had reportedly been abandoned for several weeks before police were alerted.

While the official cause of death has not yet been determined, the Medical Examiner confirmed an autopsy was completed but stated that further toxicology tests and investigative work are required before a final ruling can be issued.

The certificate, however, did clarify one detail that had been widely speculated across social media: Rivas was not pregnant and had not been within the last year. That specific point had fueled a wave of online commentary, prompting the public clarification.

LAPD Captain Scot Williams told TMZ, “Confirming whether Rivas died from foul play or other causes is critical to the case,” adding that detectives are unable to officially classify her death as a homicide until they receive the Medical Examiner’s final findings.

For now, police say it “remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.”

In a statement issued Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division said, “It remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body. RHD is thoroughly examining every aspect of this case to uncover the truth and seek justice for Celeste Rivas Hernandez and her family.”

The car in which Rivas was found had been parked for an extended period in a secluded area of the Hollywood Hills, raising questions about how long her body had been there before discovery.

Rivas had been reported missing since April 2024 after fleeing her home in Lake Elsinore. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office had been searching for her for over a year.

D4vd, who gained popularity through TikTok with moody singles like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” has not been named a suspect.

The indie pop singer, originally from Queens and raised in Houston, canceled his Withered World Tour earlier this month without offering a reason.

As of now, the investigation remains open while detectives continue to examine how the teenager ended up in D4vd’s vehicle and what led to her death.

Nicki Minaj Fires Shots At JAY-Z & Cardi B, Cardi Strikes Under The Belt

I don’t know why this isn’t interesting to me, but I’m going to talk about it anyway! Nicki Minaj is on a rampage. She has her eyes and sights fully on JAY-Z and Cardi B! For some reason, this has become the cornerstone of her album rollout for next year. As you can see, she’s already disrupted part of Cardi B’s rollout. Cardi B debuted at the top of the charts, but Nicki celebrated as if she did not. But that’s another story—we’ll get into that in a second.

READ ALSO: Nicki Minaj Drags JAY-Z Into Album Rollout With Wild AI Image

A few months ago, Nicki was up in arms over Jay, Roc Nation, and money she said she was owed, plus a lot of other things that had nothing to do with bars. Nicki is one of the best writers of our time, so I’d rather hear her making music than unloading on social media. But that’s just me. Here we are with the drama. First of all, she seemingly celebrated Cardi not debuting at the top of the charts, which was surprising to me because Cardi’s rollout was incredible, spanning multiple cities and even underserved territories. I thought it was masterful. Second, Cardi’s album Am I The Drama? was very, very good and well-received by both fans and critics alike. But she was up against some heavy competition on the charts, so she didn’t land at number one. Personally, that doesn’t matter to me—it’s all about the music.

Anyway, it seems like some slick talk—perhaps on Young Thug’s album and other stuff—has Nicki fired all the way up. Now she’s going at Jay and Cardi in a way that feels like a vendetta. I think we’re going to have to deal with this energy consistently from now until her album drops next year. I just hope it doesn’t take away from the music itself. That said, Nicki has made it clear she’s writing! I think she emphasized that because Cardi B has co-writers, while Nicki is all MC. There’s a slight distinction, but Cardi doesn’t care. I don’t think Atlantic Records cares either. And honestly, I don’t think most people care anymore.

JAY-Z is another story. I wonder if he’s even thinking about any of this or if he’s brushing it off from a yacht somewhere. Personally, I’d love to see Jay come back out. I feel like Hip-Hop needs him just as much as it needs Nas. We need these great examples of veteran MCs still operating at a high lyrical level. That said, Jay’s not doing the Super Bowl now, so that’s off the table. Meanwhile, Nas is about to drop some time this year—we definitely know that’s happening. So we’ll have to wait and see.

Nevertheless, Nicki Minaj is on a rampage, and it doesn’t seem like it’s stopping any time soon. I’m here for it, though, because it’s basically the essence of Hip-Hop. Since we’re not going to get along, we might as well get it on—lyrically. Keep it on wax and may the best rapper win.

As I type this, Cardi and Nicki are going back and forth over Twitter…this is WILD! But that will be the next post…but here is a dose of what is happening.

Cardi B Plays The Bible To Protect Her From Dark Energy

Cardi B Turns To Prayer After Pregnancy Announcement Triggers Negativity

Cardi B said she felt an unsettling wave of negativity from women after confirming her pregnancy, prompting her to lean on her mother’s prayers for protection.

The Bronx-born rapper said the energy around her shifted after she shared the news. “I called my mom the other day to pray over me and my baby because I feel like a lot of weirdness has been coming out from people and women and all this stuff ever since I announced that I was pregnant,” she said.

Cardi B Says Women Are Wishing Harm On Her Unborn Child

Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, didn’t hold back when describing the kind of energy she’s been feeling. “There’s a lot of weird women that will wish you weird stuff on your kid, like stillbirth, death, slowness, you know what I’m saying? And I feel that energy. I feel people putting that on me.”

She believes many people had already guessed she was pregnant before she confirmed it. But once it became public, she said the tone shifted. “And it’s funny because I know that y’all knew that I was pregnant because clearly everybody kind of figured that I was. But the negativity and the weirdness that people are bringing and putting, I told my mom like, please pray for me and for the Lord to cover me.”

Cardi B Leans On Faith To Protect Herself And Her Baby

To shield herself from what she described as “dark energy,” Cardi said she turns to her spiritual practices. She often plays the Bible out loud in her home to create a protective atmosphere. “I personally believe nothing is as powerful as a mother’s prayer,” she said.

The Grammy-winning artist has spoken before about her belief in spiritual protection, but this time she said the tension feels more direct. She believes the negativity intensified after she made her pregnancy public and said she’s doing what she can to stay grounded.

Cardi made the comments earlier this week while addressing her followers amid her ongoing pregnancy.

Cardi B Drags Nicki Minaj’s Husband & Brother As Rap Beef Erupts With Brutal Insults

Nicki Minaj reignited her long-running feud with Cardi B on Monday (September 29) by questioning the chart-topping success of Cardi’s new album and dragging her personal life into the crossfire.

The Hip-Hop heavyweights exchanged a barrage of insults across social media, with Minaj disputing the reported 200,000-plus units sold of Cardi’s “AM I THE DRAMA?” and mocking everything from her rap skills to her appearance.

Minaj didn’t hold back, suggesting Cardi underwent surgery to resemble her and even took a jab at the father of Cardi’s unborn child, NFL player Stefon Diggs, by implying he’s bisexual.

Minaj compared Cardi’s music to a children’s cartoon, dubbing her “Barney B,” and posted cryptic messages on social media.

“To every enabler: Never provoke a writer while they’re [writing],” she tweeted. “You joined the game as a willing participant. Don’t try to back out now.”

She also teased her own album release with the date “3.27.26” and took aim at JAY-Z and Roc Nation, writing, “You failed. Let the reindeer games begin. We #WinAgain.”

Cardi B Targets Nicki Minaj, Calls Out Comparisons

Cardi didn’t stay quiet. She fired off a string of responses, calling Minaj “Cocaine Barbie” and writing, “You must’ve missed me, huh crazy?? Now kiss my feet.”

She added, “The power I have.. make these btches come out of rehab everytime.”

Cardi also dragged Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, and her brother, both of whom have criminal convictions related to sex offenses.

She continued, “Why you keep bringing up my album?? It’s not the gag that you think it is..You been in the game like 16 years.. you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time. Rihanna, Taylor swift, Drake…those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them… I was in high school when you came out wtf is you comparing yourself to me for???”

Cardi also addressed Minaj’s repeated comments about her pregnancy, writing, “Alright now this the third tweet talkin about my pregnancy… like you wasn’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs. NOT ALLEGEDLY…Lord protect my babies.”

The two rappers have a long and public history of beef, dating back years, including a physical altercation at New York Fashion Week in 2018.

Trump Doubles Down On Portland After Ice Cube’s Bus Was Set On Fire

Federal Troops Deployed to Portland

Donald Trump ordered federal troops to Portland, Oregon, as local officials continue investigating a fire that damaged Ice Cube’s tour bus shortly after his concert in the city.

In a message posted Saturday on Truth Social, Trump stated, “I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary.”

The move follows heightened tensions in the city and echoes Trump’s 2020 deployment of federal officers during protests that drew national scrutiny.

Ice Cube’s Bus Caught Fire Downtown

Portland Fire & Rescue is still reviewing the cause of the blaze that ignited Tuesday night on the front passenger-side tire of Ice Cube’s chartered bus. The vehicle was parked near Southwest Broadway and Oak Street when the fire broke out, according to fire department spokesperson Rick Graves.

The 56-year-old Hip-Hop artist had just finished performing at the Moda Center as part of his Truth to Power tour. Through a representative, Ice Cube addressed the incident, saying, “I’m not taking this incident as a personal attack. A coward like that would burn anybody’s property that was out there at the time.”

As of Saturday, officials have not announced any suspects or motives.

Trump’s Comments Escalate Tensions

Trump’s remarks this week suggest a more aggressive stance toward Portland. On Thursday, he told reporters, “We’re going to get out there and we’re going to do a pretty big number on those people in Portland,” referring to “professional agitators and anarchists.”

He has consistently portrayed the city in grim terms, once describing it as “like living in hell.” Earlier this week, he signed an executive order labeling antifa a domestic terrorist organization.

Local Officials Push Back

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson rejected the federal intervention, saying, “I have not asked for – and do not need – federal intervention.”

Oregon lawmakers have also raised concerns about immigration enforcement practices in the state. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici said Friday, “ICE has said they’re targeting people for arrest and detainment who have committed crimes. That’s what they told us. But that’s not what we are seeing.”

The Department of War has not confirmed whether the deployment will involve National Guard units or active-duty military forces, according to BBC News.

Investigation Still Ongoing

Portland Fire & Rescue has not released any new findings related to the tour bus fire as of Saturday. Ice Cube has continued his tour without further reported incidents.

‘It’s just like a nice thing to do’: Travel agent shares whether or not you should check out of hotels

A travel agent shared her perspective on whether or not you should check out of a hotel when you’re leaving. In a video on TikTok with over 107,000 views, Shay Martin (@jettotravel) discussed the question: Should you check out or Irish goodbye?

Do people normally check out of hotels?

An article from Today explored the same topic, ultimately concluding that travelers should probably check out before leaving the premises.

Many people think that checking out early is a courtesy, as it can give the hotel the opportunity to start cleaning a room earlier. If the front desk know that the room’s empty, it gives the hotel leeway to get more work done sooner, letting them pay more attention to room cleanings.

Commenters had mixed feelings about whether or not a check out is necessary. One person said it’s “not necessary in 2025,” as hotels have moved to digital room keys.

Other people disagreed, including those who work in the industry. “Front desk agent here!” one comment said, “Please stop by the front desk and let us know. Also, please ask for the bill and review it. [It is] easier to make billing adjustments while you are still at the hotel.”

On a separate video posted by @the.s###.chat, a commenter agreed with the sentiment, saying, “As a former housekeeper, it makes our jobs a lot easier if you’re polite and let someone know.”

Martin’s take: It’s a courtesy, but worth doing

“ My take is [that] it’s a personal preference as long as you’re checking out on time, but let me tell you why.”

Martin explained that checking out of a hotel is just a courtesy to the hotel for the most part, and not something that a customer is obligated to do.

“ If you’re leaving the hotel at 5:00 a.m. because your flight’s at [7:00 a.m.], checkout’s not till 11 a.m., and you don’t tell anybody, then they’re not gonna start cleaning your room till 11 a.m.,” she shared. “ So it’s just like a nice thing to do, [because] some hotels just don’t even do anything with that information.”

She did clarify that if you’ve damaged your room in any way, you should probably chat with the hotel clerk to straighten it out before leaving. It’s easier to discuss potential room charges in-person than over the phone, and more than a courtesy to do so.

She also added while speaking to Today: “Ultimately, I think checking out is a personal preference. It only becomes an issue, in my opinion, if you are disrespecting the check-out time entirely.”

AllHipHop has reached out to Martin for more clarification on her perspective. We’ll let you know if she responds back.

@jettotravel I did an interview about this topic earlier this summer. There’s some controversy on whether or not this is a requirement and my opinion is it depends on your circumstance! #hotel #etiquette #travel #traveltip #travelagent ♬ original sound – Shay | Travel Agent

6ix9ine Back On House Arrest As He Awaits Sentencing In Assault Case

6ix9ine landed back in legal hot water and social media chaos after a federal judge in Manhattan ordered him to house arrest for violating probation tied to an assault case in Florida.

According to court filings. 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was sentenced to home confinement on Friday (September 26), after admitting guilt in an attack on a man who allegedly called him a “snitch” inside a Florida shopping mall. The court also ordered Hernandez to wear an electronic ankle monitor until his sentencing on November 4.

The ruling stems from a string of probation violations, including past charges involving firearms and narcotics. His legal history remains tangled with the infamous Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods racketeering case, where he testified against several members in exchange for a reduced sentence. That cooperation has followed him ever since, making him a lightning rod in Hip-Hop circles.

The terms of his house arrest allow limited movement for religious services, legal appointments, substance abuse programs, and medical or mental health treatment.

While his legal troubles mount, 6ix9ine has reignited beefs across the rap landscape. In a recent phone call with Akademiks, he took aim at 21 Savage, mocking the rapper’s immigration status. “I’ll really spit on that na,” 6ix9ine said. “I’m a U.S. citizen, that’s what separates us… That na 21 Savage ain’t from here, n***a.” Despite the jab, 21 Savage is a lawful U.S. resident and was born in the United Kingdom.

Elsewhere, 6ix9ine stirred more controversy in an interview on One Night With Steiny, where he accused Offset of betraying his former Migos bandmates. “All these rappers is rats,” he said. “I’m not saying these [are] facts, but this is the rumor. Quavo’s girl was Saweetie, right? They said Offset slept with Saweetie, that’s why the Migos fell out. The game is full of rats. If you sleep with your homie girl, that’s rat material. When you join the streets, you sign up for loyalty, right? All these street dudes got ‘Loyalty’ tatted. Why did Migos split? Why was Takeoff and Quavo riding around dolo for so long? What did Offset do so harmful to not be part of Migos? They still not together til now, and they already lost Takeoff.”

The 27-year-old rapper has faced a string of legal issues since his 2019 release from prison. In addition to the current assault case, he’s been involved in multiple lawsuits and incidents, including a brutal gym beatdown in Florida earlier this year, which led to further scrutiny of his probation status. As reported by NBC News, the attack left him hospitalized and raised questions about his security and ongoing conflicts.

Young Thug Defends Controversial Album Art & Lyrics: “You Wanna Be The Biggest, Go White”

Young Thug ignited debate over race and artistic boundaries after unveiling the cover of his latest album, UY SCUTI, where he appears noticeably lighter skinned and doubling down on the use of the N-word with a hard R in its opening track “Ninja.”

In a preview clip from the It’s Up There podcast, shared by host Big Loon on Twitter (X), the Atlanta rapper addressed the backlash surrounding both the album’s imagery and lyrics. The full interview is set to drop Monday (September 29).

“I think it was just, like, some funny s###,” Thug said. “But it’s still serious to the point where I went with it. […] We always joked and played in my hood. ‘N####, you want to be the biggest, go white.’ […] We just talking s###… It’s just a narrative that the world paint. And we just going with the narrative… ‘Michael Jackson went white for this,’ we know that ain’t true.

“We just go with the motions. It’s just all fun. […] They always let the white people be the biggest. I love white people, too… We got big-ass artists too that’s Black… I was just pushing the envelope a little bit.”

Young Thug added that his intentions were not political but rather a commentary on the industry’s long-standing racial dynamics.

“‘You want to be the biggest n#### in this muthafuckin’ world, you got to be Eminem.’ I just put the white album cover out, just talking shi**t. It’s just all fun s###, though. I ain’t with none of that political s###. We having fun, it’s music, and you shouldn’t take it so serious. It’s not like we can make it out alive, anyway. We all gon’ die, no matter what. You got to choose to be happy and put in the world what you want and the legacy you want to create for yourself, ‘cause that’s what it’s about.”

Thug is reportedly scheduled to perform in Atlanta on Sunday (September 28), which may be connected to his probation terms allowing him to be in the city only for anti-gang initiatives.

Young Thug was arrested in 2022 on RICO charges alongside other alleged members of the YSL collective. Prosecutors claim the group operated as a criminal street gang responsible for numerous violent crimes in Atlanta. Thug has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty. The trial wound up being the longest in Atlanta history, and Thug was finally released on October 31, 2024.
