Over the weekend, professional misogynists Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami

The brothers were taken into custody after British authorities requested their extradition to face a new wave of criminal charges, including rape, human trafficking, assault, and additional sex offense allegations involving four new alleged victims.

The Tates, who hold dual U.S. and U.K. citizenship, are expected to appear before a federal judge in Florida as the extradition process begins.

This is not the first time these two have been arrested. But it might be the last.

Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service revealed that the latest charges stem from evidence gathered by Bedfordshire Police during an ongoing investigation.

According to prosecutors, the new allegations involve incidents dating from 2010 through 2017 and bring the total number of alleged victims in the U.K. case to seven.

The accusations include rape, trafficking for sexual exploitation, assault, and offenses involving indecent images of children and extreme pornography.

The Tate brothers have denied all allegations against them.

Their attorney, Joseph McBride, blasted the arrest, calling the case politically motivated and insisting his clients are innocent.

“This arrest is based upon a slander campaign,” McBride said, arguing the brothers are being unfairly targeted.

The latest arrest marks another chapter in years of legal troubles surrounding the Tate brothers.

Andrew and Tristan were first arrested in Romania in late 2022 as prosecutors investigated allegations of human trafficking, rape, and operating an organized criminal group that allegedly exploited women.

Romanian authorities eventually allowed the brothers to leave the country while those proceedings continued, and they relocated to Florida earlier this year.

The Romanian investigation remains unresolved, and both brothers continue to deny wrongdoing.

The U.K. separately announced criminal charges against the pair in 2025 involving other alleged victims. Those charges remained pending while British authorities pursued extradition.

A federal court in Miami will determine whether the legal requirements for extradition have been satisfied.

If the court approves Britain’s request, the ultimate decision on surrendering the brothers to U.K. authorities will fall to the U.S. Secretary of State under the extradition treaty between the two countries.

Despite years of investigations and mounting legal challenges in multiple jurisdictions, Andrew Tate has maintained a sizable online following, even after being banned from several major social media platforms for violating policies related to hate speech and misogynistic content.

For now, however, the brothers’ attention appears focused on the courtroom rather than social media, as they prepare to fight extradition while continuing to deny every allegation against them.

To hear Kroy Biermann or Kim Zolciak tell it, the other is an unfit parent.

This has meant that the court battle has dragged on and on. That’s expensive.

The former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star narrowly avoided jail time over a relatively small court payment.

She has finally made the payment and can avoid spending time behind bars — at least for now.

$2,535 is a lot to owe for most people …

TMZ reports that Zolciak had been instructed by a Georgia judge to turn over $2,535 in outstanding fees.

These were court fees. Specifically, the 4-figure sum was to pay a guardian ad litem appointed as part of her long-running divorce from Kroy Biermann.

(Guardian at litems can fulfill multiple roles, but generally represent minors or others who cannot advocate for themselves during specific legal cases.)

The judge’s order was not a mere suggestion.

If Zolciak did not pay the outstanding sum, she could be jailed.

Now, TMZ reports, Zolciak has paid the entire balance.

According to sources close to her, she made the payment in full on July 14.

Now, things have gone awry in our society when a small (or even large) unpaid debt could rob someone of their freedom, even temporarily.

There must be other measures that the court could take, if someone refused to pay as ordered, before resorting to something as extreme as jail — a punishment that only costs money.

That said, we can acknowledge that for Zolciak, this was not a threat of a debtor’s prison. We are glad that the matter is resolved.

This didn’t need to be so bitter or so ugly

It seems that Zolciak’s issue with the guardian ad litem had to do, at least in part, with dissatisfaction with their priorities.

The guardian was supposed to interview all four minor children as well as both parents.

Zolciak argued that the guardian did not pay sufficient attention to her allegations of abuse or to her concerns about her ex-husband as a parent.

Both parents believe that the other is an unfit parent. Their court battle has extended for years.

However, the guardian’s responsibility is to the minor children — not to assuage the feelings of or advocate for either ex.

The involvement of the guardian ad litem is only one of many points of contention of Zolciak and her ex-husband.

Zolciak’s eldest daughters, Brielle and Ariana, took Biermann’s last name as their own when their parents married.

But Brielle recenly shared that she has not spoken with her father in a long time.

The way that things are, she doesn’t even know if he will be part of her wedding.

What has befallen this family is very sad. Whatever we think of Zolciak or Biermann, their kids are also caught up in this mess.

Just two weeks after Taylor Swift married Travis Kelce, her most recent ex has also tied the knot.

Yes, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy wed model Gabbriette Becthel over the weekend.

And as you might have guessed, Swifties have some very strong opinions about this turn of events.

Now, Matty and Gabbriette had been engaged for about a year, and they almost certainly made their plans and booked their venue well before they knew Taylor and Travis’ date,

Even so, Healy and Bechtel are being accused of trying to steal Swift and Kelce’s thunder.

It’s ridiculous, but so is most online discourse in 2026.

“Amazing how matrimony suddenly becomes a speedrun when your ex gets hitched first,” wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter).

“If nobody knows who you are without your ex being mentioned, and you call TMZ and other tabloids to take pictures of your wedding, and your entire family whines to the Daily Mail about your ex, you are a waste of oxygen,” another wrote, referring to the time that Healy’s mom opened up about Swifties harassing her son.

“Matty really saw the headlines for the last two weeks and said, ‘Hold my beer.’ The shade of it all is honestly impressive,” a third person wrote, adding:

“I mean, good for them, but the proximity to Taylor’s wedding is giving me major main character syndrome vibes.”

“The timeline is TIGHT. Taylor’s wedding was literally weeks ago and Matty said “nah I’m going NEXT,” a fourth chimed in.

You get the idea. A surprising number of social media users are convinced that Matty intended to shade Taylor with his choice of wedding date, which is unlikely for numerous reasons.

For one, Taylor and Matty dated for about a month three years ago. And while the brief fling might have inspired some scathing lyrics on her Tortured Poets Department album, it’s unlikely that he’s still stewing about it.

On top of that, Taylor and Travis kept a tight lid on their wedding plans until a few weeks before the big day.

It would have been impossible for Matty and Gabbriette to plan their wedding around Taylor’s.

In other words, Swifties might be looking for drama where there isn’t any. Which is kinda their thing.

Kai Trump is the teenage granddaughter of Donald Trump.

Don Jr., her father, seems to be a chip off the ol’ block.

Recently, a video of him referring to her as “sexy” has made the rounds.

It is, understandably, not going over well.

‘Does getting makeup make me look sexy like you?’

In recent days, a video of Don Jr. has resurfaced on social media.

As you can see in the clip, Donald Trump’s eldest son is sitting and getting styled before making a public appearance.

In the green room chair beside him is his teenage daughter, Kai Trump.

Due to various cultural factors, Don Jr. seems to feel the need to explain why he is getting makeup on his face. (As if his father is not, famously, one of the most conspicuously made up men on the planet.)

It is what he says in the clip that turns people’s stomachs.

As you can see in the video, Don Jr. asks Kai if the makeup will “make me look sexy like you?”

This was about two years ago, meaning that Kai was only 17 at the time. (She is currently 19.)

Kai, who was focused on her phone at the time, did look up and laugh at her father’s remark.

To be clear, this is not quite the same as Don Jr. saying something graphic about his daughter or something like that. He is attempting to crack a joke because he feels insecure about the world seeing him wear makeup.

But it’s also very understandable, given the context, why so many people find this video unsettling or downright disgusting.

‘If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her’

Naturally, people are comparing Don Jr.’s remarks to those of his father.

Donald Trump, who has been found liable for both the sexual abuse and ensuing defamation of writer E. Jean Carroll, is a notorious monster.

He is mentioned countless times in the Epstein Files, and not incidentally.

Additionally, Trump Sr. is extremely well known — long before he got into politics to dismantle the United States and sell it for scrap — for seeming to lust after one of his own daughters.

“If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her,” is not a compliment. It is a repulsive statement made by a repulsive man.

As we mentioned earlier, this clip is a couple of years old. Many of the commenters are aware of that, but perhaps missed the video at the time.

(You may recall that something similar happened with James Woods recently, with a new generation of people discovering the allegations against him.)

It isn’t just a grotesque reminder that the Trumps are a creepy bunch. This is also a reminder of their brazen hypocrisy.

With the backing of Don Jr. and others, the Trump campaign and now the Trump regime are cracking down on human rights at a federal level, targeting the LGBTQ+ community after labeling them “groomers.”

It is a vague label when used as a weapon like this, distorted beyond its original meaning. But traditionally giving age-inappropriate compliments to a minor teenager could be textbook grooming, even if that was not Don Jr.’s intention.

One of the hallmarks of conservatism is the belief that there is an in-group whom laws should protect but not restrict, and an out-group whom laws should restrict and not protect. Don Jr. sees calling his minor daughter “sexy” as harmless but might see a Pride parade as an obscenity.

The FIFA World Cup is a soccer event that has brought heartwarming bonding moments between countries at a time when the world needs it most.

It also brought Justin Bieber onto the stage as one of the performers for the Finale Halftime Show.

As we all know, some of the Biebs’ recent performances have been polarizing at best.

With that in mind, it should be no surprise that some found this one to be a little … confusing.

FIFA didn’t previously have a halftime show …

On Sunday, July 19, Bieber participated in the FIFA World Cup Finale Halftime Show.

FIFA is an international soccer organization that is relatively obscure within the United States.

However, the past several weeks have seen adorable social media posts from visitors, beer shortages in Boston and Florida, and a charming cultural exchange at a time when the United States’ international image is at a multigenerational low.

Those of us who thought that the idea of a “world cup” was the invention of a once-beloved author’s wizard universe might be surprise to learn that FIFA does not traditionally include a halftime show.

This was the very first. And, sandwiched between high-energy performances by BTS and Shakira, Bieber took to the stage.

Bieber performed a low-key, emotional ballad.

Specifically, it was “EVERYTHING HALLELUJAH” from his album, SWAG II.

(We did not make up either the song or album title to make fun of him. He did that himself.)

It was not only the relatively subdued song that had fans, past and present alike, scratching their heads.

Bieber also went without any other aspects of the performance, taking the stage with only a guitar and a microphone.

Across social media, people had a variety of takes on Bieber’s performance.

Some felt a sense of shock or outright mocked him.

The Biebs does not seem to know how to read — or match — the energy of a room.

Some felt that he had killed the momentum. Others simply felt secondhand embarrassment.

On the other hand, some praised him for his simple performance. Some Beliebers truly are forever.

This is not the Biebs’ first time disappointing fans with a low-key performance.

But what some may see as him phoning it in, others view as a sort of earnest authenticity.

It is likely that he believes that his music is better served by just being a flat performance without any pomp or circumstance.

It’s not for everyone. But that’s okay.

Not that long ago, the Bieber seemed to be spiraling on social media and in real life. We’d prefer these polarizing performances on stage to worrying about what he’s going to do next week, you know?

By the way, Spain won the final soccer game. Even those of us for whom soccer was a miserable childhood chore and not an adult interest knew to root against Argentina, so that’s a win.

Amy Duggar recently spoke at length about her extended family’s latest scandal.

She has expressed, among other things, a belief that perhaps Josh and Joseph were victims themselves as kids.

Her mom, Deanna, joined in for part of the interview.

Together, the two called for every member of their extended family to be investigated. Good idea?

‘They should be investigated’

During another portion of Amy’s interview with The Sarah Fraser Show, her mom participated in the call.

“In my opinion, I do believe that they should be investigated,” Deanna Duggar expressed.

She explained that she believes that an investigation would be appropriate “just because of everything that has happened.”

Deanna confirmed: “Everybody should be checked out in that family.”

Amy chimed in to agree, suggesting that Josh and Joseph’s evil may be informed by their life experiences. “It stems from somewhere,” she shared.

Deanna also added that she believes that her niblings “should be in therapy.”

Amy shared that her coucins have probably “suppressed a whole lot” of what they have endured.

She then admitted: “I don’t understand how someone becomes a monster overnight.”

That is another clear reference to Josh and to Joseph.

“It blows my mind when I hear about these double lives and how quickly they can make a decision that’s so heartbreaking,” Amy stated, echoing similar remarks that she has made.

‘You don’t protect children’

Additionally, Amy confirmed that she has a lot of distance with most of her extended family.

She explained that this is because Jim Bob and most of his kids still believe “in IBLP and you don’t protect children.”

For this reason, they cannot be in her life.

Deanna, meanwhile, said that she’s relatively open to communicating with Jim Bob again. But she’d need “boundaries” in place, and it would need to be on her terms.

She also shared that her brother tried to make nice last year. “I said, “It’s not the time or place to talk right now,’” Deanna revealed.

There is sometimes a concept that suggests that all who prey upon children were once victims of such crimes themselves.

This is not only untrue, but has the pernicious effect of making society suspicious of survivors of childhood sexual abuse. (In reality, the vast majority of survivors do not commit such offenses as adults.)

We would not expect Amy or Deanna to know this. Though they are not part of the family cult, they are still part of society’s fringes. Amy herself holds extreme and bigoted beliefs and this surely clouds the lens through which she views the world, including her disgraced cousins.

An investigation into the welfare of the children of that family would be a good idea. It would be an even better one if we lived in a society with laws that actually protect children more effectively. But then, if we did, the Duggars as we know them wouldn’t exist in the first place.

Amy’s right about her cousins needing to be in therapy. Real therapy. Even if Josh and Joseph were innocents, all of those children have suffered from growing up in an abusive cult.

Congratulations are in order for America’s second family.

Usha and JD Vance announced over the weekend that they have welcomed their fourth child together, a baby boy named Alec Neel Vance.

The couple shared the happy news in a statement on social media:

“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning,” Vance wrote.

“Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”

The vice president also thanked the medical staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit for their care during the delivery.

The newest member of the Vance family joins older siblings Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.

His arrival is historically significant, as Alec is the first child born to a sitting U.S. vice president in more than 150 years. The last such birth occurred in 1870 during the tenure of Vice President Schuyler Colfax, who served under Ulysses S. Grant.

JD and Usha first revealed they were expecting another child in January, announcing that their fourth baby was due later this summer. At the time, they said both mother and baby were doing well and that the entire family was eagerly awaiting his arrival.

The birth comes during an eventful first year for the Vances in Washington.

Since taking office as vice president in January 2025, JD Vance has frequently spoken about encouraging family growth in the United States, making support for parents and children a recurring theme in his public remarks.

Despite his demanding schedule, Vance has indicated he plans to spend time with his wife and newborn son as the family adjusts to life as a household of six.

For now, though, politics has taken a back seat to diapers, sleepless nights, and celebrating the arrival of baby Alec.
