Earlier this week, we reported on the tragic news that former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin had passed away at the age of 36.
News of Martin’s death came courtesy of a statement from his family, who initially reported that the cause of death was unknown pending further investigation.
That same day, multiple outlets reported that Martin died following a “brief struggle” with police amid what may have been a home break-in.
Now, we’re learning more about the final months of Martin’s life, and it appears that he had been battling mental health and substance abuse issues for quite some time.
Doug Martin’s troubled final days revealed
According to a report from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office obtained by The San Francisco Chronicle, Martin was put on an involuntary psychiatric hold back in August.
Martin reportedly checked into Tranquility Rehab Center in August, where he tested positive for cocaine and methamphetamines on his arrival.
His stay was a troubled one, as Martin left the premises without permission multiple times.
At one point, Martin was reportedly found dancing outside the facility with his hands covered in blood.
One supervisor stated that it appeared as though Martin had leapt from his balcony on the facility’s second floor and began punching walls until his hands bled.
When police arrived on the scene, a struggle ensued, and they were eventually forced to subdue Martin after finding a bag of cocaine and a 12-inch knife on his person.
Sources close to Martin say on the day of his death, he attempted to enter a neighbor’s home after becoming disoriented.
An epic life cut short
Martin played the first six seasons of his career with the Bucs and finished with a single season for the Raiders.
He was picked 31st overall in the 2012 NFL draft and rushed for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie to earn a spot in the Pro Bowl.
Over the course of his years in the NFL, he accumulated 5,356 yards rushing and 30 TDs.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden and unexpected passing of Doug Martin. … Doug made a lasting impact on our franchise,” said the Buccaneers in a statement.
The statement described the 5’9″ Martin — who earned the nickname “Muscle Hamster” — as a
“fan favorite.”
Martin was recently named as one of the top 50 players in Bucs’ history as part of the team’s 50th anniversary celebration.

As you’ve likely heard by now, Prince Andrew was recently stripped of his royal titles amid allegations that he engaged in widespread sexual misconduct during his years of friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Technically, Andrew gave up his titles voluntarily, but it seems quite clear that the idea was not his, and there are rumors that Prince William would like to see him banned from all royal properties and events.
And as royal journalists and biographers attempt to make sense of the scandal, many are casting a wide net in their efforts to find an explanation for how a man with such dignified parents could behave so abhorrently.
And one particularly scathing article is going viral this week thanks to the author’s suggestion that Queen Elizabeth might be responsible for her son’s problematic behavior.

“Is the late Queen Elizabeth to blame for the horror of Prince Andrew?” Daily Mail columnist Jan Moir asks in her latest piece.
“Did she spoil him so much that he grew up convinced of his own specialness, marinated in arrogance, unable to navigate his cushioned world of privilege with even a shred of humility, decency or common sense?
“Many mothers have blind spots when it comes to their favorite sons, sparing the rod and spoiling the child to such an extent that they unwittingly raise a monster.”
Moir goes on to note that Elizabeth’s other kids are not exactly widely beloved — but they’re a whole lot more likable than Andrew.
“They may have their faults, but neither his two brothers nor his sister come anywhere close to Prince Andrew on the royal ghastly-o-meter,” she writes.
The favorite son becomes the black sheep
Moir then posits that the problem stems from the fact that Andrew was the favorite child and knew that he could do no wrong in his mother’s eyes.
“Surely part of the problem must be that no matter what he did, Queen Elizabeth could see no wrong in her beloved Andrew,” she writes.
“Most mothers have a favorite son, and he was undoubtedly hers – then, now and forevermore.”
The public has known about Andrew’s connection to Epstein for several years, but that scandalous association has received new scrutiny in recent months.
In April, one of Andrew and Epstein’s alleged victims, Virginia Giuffre, took her own life.
And throughout 2025, the Trump administration has faced renewed pressure to release the so-called Epstein files, in which Andrew’s name is rumored to be prominently featured.
Obviously, Queen Elizabeth is not entirely to blame for her son’s actions — but this ongoing scandal is sure to continue raising questions about the entire family, as well as the institution of royalty.

A shocking report claims that Nicole Kidman would take Keith Urban back.
Even though she filed to divorce him, he seems to be the one who instigated the breakup.
And outsiders believe that their daughters are Team Kidman. You know, just like the rest of the world.
Is she really getting cold feet about ending the marriage?

A jaw-dropping claim from The Daily Mail purports to shed light upon Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s split.
According to the report, the breakup totally blindsided Kidman.
They had been experiencing marital difficulties but, the inside source alleges, they were “getting it back together.”
At least, that’s what she thought.
Instead, Urban announced that it was over — leaving Kidman flabbergasted and broken-hearted.
It has now been weeks since Kidman filed for divorce.
However, the alleged insider — apparently a friend who has known Kidman for decades — claims that she’d be willing to take him back.
The only obstacle to her patching things up, allegedly, would be if Urban has moved on.
“She would get back with him in a heartbeat,” the alleged source ominously warned.
That is a little unexpected, given a variety of things that we already knew.
Can they un-ring this bell, even if they want to?
First and foremost, Keith Urban and fellow Country singer Maggie Baugh have seemed awfully chummy.
Their overt friendliness began before the breakup news, by the way.
Obviously, we are not accusing anyone of any wrongdoing.
(And, even if fans’ worst suspicions were to be confirmed, and she is Urban’s new girlfriend, he — and not Baugh — would be the wrongdoer)
At the very least, Urban didn’t seem shy about openly altering the lyrics to his own songs as a tribute to Baugh. Whether something happened or it didn’t, he didn’t seem to care what people thought.
There is also the fact that it was Kidman who filed to divorce Urban.
In her filing, she very notably did not accuse him of adultery.
Instead, she cited the reason for their split as “irreconcilable differences.” That is, to be blunt, the catch-all legal phrase for no-fault divorce.
We don’t doubt that Kidman felt blindsided the the breakup.
However, feeling taken aback when your partner of many years suddenly wants out doesn’t always mean that you’re desperate to have them back.
Her fans aren’t buying this
To be blunt, a lot of folks on social media are discussing how they’re doubting the report. And we don’t blame them!
Does this insider believe what they’re saying? Almost certainly.
But even if Nicole Kidman was crying and wanting her considerably less famous husband back just a few weeks ago, isn’t it likely that this has changed?
Especially as the world has watched him appear to either be dating again — or at least interested in it.
This divorce won’t be fun. But Kidman’s been through worse, more grueling divorces. She’ll be better off after she moves on.

As previously reported, Jelly Roll recently lost a ton of weight.
A long time ago, meanwhile? The artist nearly lost his wife.
“I don’t talk about this publicly at all,” Jelly Roll confessed on the October 21 episode of the Human School Podcast.
“But one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife.”
The 40-year-old said he still feels disappointed in himself, even after all these years.
“It was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It was just such a– just really, really, really blew me back,” he went on.
“I did a lot of work to repair that relationship. The repair has been special. And we’re stronger than we could have ever been.”
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have been married for nine years.
The singer is dad to daughter Bailee Ann, 17, and son Noah, 9, from previous relationships.
“I was hanging around a bunch of people that were cheating on their wives,” Jelly Roll said, explaining that he’d previously experienced similar situations.
“When I was doing cocaine, I was hanging around a bunch of people that were doing cocaine. When I was drinking a lot, I was hanging around a lot of people that were drinking a lot.”
As for where his semi-famous spouse stands on this unethical behavior?
One day after her husband admitted to his cheating, the Dumb Blonde podcast host reacted to an online critic who said she should “hop away” from the star over his infidelity.
“It actually takes a stronger woman to face pain head-on, do the work, and rebuild with the man she loves — instead of running or gossiping,” Bunnie wrote in a screenshot shared to her Instagram Story on October 22. “Growth isn’t weakness, it’s grace.”
The 45-year-old added:
“But not everyone’s built for that kind of strength. I pray you never have to feel that pain bc you’re judging another woman’s life.”
Jelly Roll, for his part, said this week he wishes the pair’s relationship journey “would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair,” but he wants to make it clear:

Country singer Alexandra Kay describes Baugh as a “good friend” of hers.
And in a new interview with Taste of Country, she assured fans that there’s nothing going on between Maggie and Keith.
“Honestly, I was heartbroken for them because the media scrutiny is insane and the things that people say … They’re like, stirring up rumors about Maggie Baugh, and I’m like, ‘She’s a good friend of mine and I know that’s absolutely not true,’” Kay told the outlet, according to People magazine.
“I’ve met her boyfriend, and she’s very happy, and she has nothing to do with that whole relationship [with Urban],” she continued, adding:
“I feel sad for everybody involved that people are doing that and picking apart their personal life. I pray for peace for them and for everybody to have their privacy.”
So what really happened with Keith and Nicole?
While the speculation might have been a bit too intense at times, it makes sense that there’s so much curiosity surrounding Keith’s split from Nicole.
After all, these two seemed rock solid after two kids and nearly two decades together.
Then, just days after the public learned of their separation, Nicole abruptly filed for divorce, a move that reportedly came as a shock to Keith.
In the weeks since, we’ve heard speculation about a possible reconciliation between Keith and Nicole, but that seems like nothing more than wishful thinking on the part of fans of the former couple.
The fact is, we might never find out exactly why these two A-listers decided to end their marriage.
