An upsetting new report says that the former besties might not reconnect in time for the upcoming wedding.
A temporary falling out could have a lasting impact
In a staggering new report by Us Weekly, it sounds like Lively’s legal war is doing more than just draining her time and energy and giving her enemies more fuel.
It may have also driven a damaging wedge in her friendship with Swift — one more long-term than fans had hoped.
According to an inside source, Swift currently feels “some hesitation” about including longtime friend Lively on her wedding’s guest list.
The insider explained: “It would likely trigger a media frenzy.”
As we previously reported, the (now public) inclusion of private communications between the blonde erstwhile besties has left Swift feeling “exposed and kind of violated.”
According to the source, the once fabled friendship between Swift and Lively “is not what it once was.”
This, the insider explained, is the result of an “emotional gap that’s hard to ignore.”
Can they fix it? Perhaps.
But the source warned that “rebuilding that closeness doesn’t feel simple or immediate.”
With Swift’s wedding approaching (reportedly taking place this summer), that creates a ticking clock … and putting things right might not work with a deadline.
Are they even still friends?
As for where things stand between the women today, it sounds … really sad.
“They may have exchanged texts here and there since,” the insider acknowledged.
“But,” the source alleged, “it’s been a long time since they’ve had a meaningful conversation.”
It is all too easy to imagine terse pleasantries rather than radio silence.
That doesn’t make for a friendship. It makes for casual neighbors who don’t really know each other — or for former friends.
“Taylor has stepped back” the insider claimed.
The source explained that Swift took this step “because it has eroded a bit of trust between them.”
By this they mean the Justin Baldoni legal war. Baldoni might fail to convince the public that Lively’s some sort of Machiavellian fiend, but he may have ruined one of her closest friendships.
“When Taylor got pulled into this, it triggered boundary tightening,” the insider described.
The source added: “It will take time to see how things end up between them.”
What should we believe?
We here at THG of course cannot verify whether or not Swift and Lively are actually at odds, let alone whether this alleged rift will be enough for Lively to have to miss Swift’s wedding.
There are those, including Swifties, who believe (perhaps realistically, perhaps out of wishful thinking) that the alleged gulf between the women is a facade designed to keep Swift out of Baldoni’s crosshairs during this mess.
But it’s possible that Swift and Taylor really have grown apart due to this current bitter legal battle.
If so, that would be a real shame. Whatever Lively may or may not have said, Swift of all people should know better than to kick a friend when they’re down.
But Swift has also spent years protecting her image and reputation at all costs. It’s why she so seldom uses her platform for political endorsements or activism. Which is another real shame.

Unfortunately, the best musicians aren’t always the best people.
Once again, Lizzo is reminding us all of that.
The latest release of Epstein files has been filled with horrors, typos, and already famous names.
But Lizzo is being vocal, accusing people of jumping to conclusions when it comes to the men in these documents.
In a now-deleted video, which you can see clips of below, Lizzo is voicing her clear disagreement with public condemnation towards rich, powerful men whose names appear in the Epstein documents.
Some of the moments are very broad — referring to the men and their names in general.
However, it’s clear that Lizzo’s primary point of contention is people who believe that Jay-Z committed sex crimes while in proximity to dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
What did it [Epstein Files] say Jay-Z did? He was there in 1996,” she challenged.
Lizzo then told her followers: “Come on, people, you are falling for it!”

Lizzo’s rant continues.
“He referenced Jay-Z once,” Lizzo details, where he refers to Epstein.
“He was like ‘Oh, we can learn from Jay-Z’s business model,’” she characterized.
As Lizzo continued, she pointed out that many of these famous names are merely mentioned in discussions on financial advice, business plans, the eventual downfall of civilization, or politics.
“Where’s the crime? Focus,” Lizzo insisted.
“Just cause somebody’s name is mentioned in a three-million-document file of a person’s life who has lived over a span of crimes and decades,” Lizzo reasoned, “does not mean every single person is an accomplice.”
She has since deleted the video.
However, as you can see in another clip, below, she also chose to employ a bizarre analogy.
“If you stole an apple from Walmart and you were on trial for stealing an apple from Walmart,” she proposed. “Is every person in your phone an accomplice?”
Lizzo continued: “Is every every person in your phone, is every email you sent to a person or speaking about a person … does that make that person complicit?” Oh dear.

To clarify, stealing from a retailer is not akin to the rape of women and girls. For one thing, people are much more likely to face legal consequences for stealing from a corporation.
More to the point, stealing an apple is something that one does independently.
Obviously (we hope), many or even most of those who happened to appear in Epstein documents are not perpetrators or victims but simply people who had the relative misfortune of meeting one of the world’s most evil men.
But in addition to Lizzo’s absurd strawman argument, people are not reacting well that she’s going into defensive mode like this.
Defending Jay-Z might be fine, might be questionable. Broadly defending essentially all men whose names come up inevitably means that she’s going to bat for at least one monster. Perhaps that is why she has since deleted the video.
Creating good music is not synonymous with being a good person.
And being famous is not the same thing as having something of value to have to a discussion. It just means that more people hear what you have to say.
It’s only been a few years since Lizzo gushed over her admiration for Chris Brown. She has shown people what sort of person she is before.
We don’t like it. We’ve all tried to forget — because her music is good and because bad people have gone after her for all of the wrong reasons.
But, at the end of the day, this is a great reminder to not idolize celebrities — even those who at first seem admirable. They are human beings. And some of them are bad human beings.

The latest tranche of Epstein files, released by the DOJ last week, featured repeated mentions of some very famous names, including Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates.
Earlier this week, Gates’ former wife, Melinda Gates, called on him to explain his involvement with Epstein.
And in a show of accountability rarely seen from men of his stature, Bill sat down with an Australian TV station to do exactly that.
Was he able to clear his name? Well, not exactly…
In an interview that aired on 9 News Australia today, Gates insisted that despite claims made by Epstein in an unsent email, he never had sexual relations with any of Epstein’s victims, nor did he conceal a sexually transmitted disease from his wife.
“Apparently, Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. That email was never sent,” Gates told 9 News Australia.
“The email is false. I don’t know what his thinking was there. Was he trying to attack me in some way? Every minute I spent with him, I regret, and I apologize that I did that.”
Gates says he met Epstein in 2011 and that he “only went to dinners” with him before severing ties in 2014.
He claims that Epstein lured him in with promises of assisting Gates in his philanthropic efforts.
“The focus was always, he knew a lot of very rich people, and he was saying he could get them to give money to global health. In retrospect, that was a dead end,” Gates told 9 News’ political editor Charles Croucher.
“I was foolish to spend time with him. I was one of many people who regret ever knowing him.”
Gates went on to double down on the claim that he never went to Epstein’s private island or attended one of his notorious sex parties.
“I never went to the island, I never met any women,” he said, adding:
“And so, the more that comes out, the more clear it’ll be that, although the time was a mistake, it had nothing to do with that kind of behavior.”
The Microsoft founder’s interview comes just one day after his ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, told NPR that he “need[s] to answer” to his associations with Epstein.
“Whatever questions remain there of what I don’t — can’t even begin to know all of it — those questions are for those people and for even my ex-husband. They need to answer to those things, not me,” she said.
“And, I am so happy to be away from all the muck that was there.”
It’s worth noting, of course, that Epstein was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution in 2008, so anyone who interacted with him in the years that followed was knowingly carrying on a relationship with a child sex offender.
So even if Gates’ above claims are truthful, he still doesn’t come off looking very good here.

This fork-found-in-kitchen scenario included the MAGA rapper discussing her fondness for watching The Crown and her inexplicable affection for the British royal family.
Miller asked about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, given the fallout from their “Megxit” departure from the UK to lead their own lives.
Minaj, who often seems at a loss for words in public appearances these days, paused before offering a reply.
“Well… I think he should go home,” Minaj finally decided.
“Like E.T. he should go home,” she quipped, making a somewhat out of pocket film reference. “Go phone home and then go home.”
(It seems likely that Minaj was simply improvising on what to say, as she doesn’t bring much charisma when covering standard MAGA talking points)
She then voiced an actual opinion — perhaps to explain why she takes issue with the Duke of Sussex.
“I did not think he should have aired the family’s dirty laundry,” Minaj complained.

Is her British accent good?
For her next line, Minaj adopted a mockery of a British accent.
“That’s just me, darling,” she joked. “I have nothing but love for them.”
Minaj then continued: “I just love the Royal Family, as if I know them.”
Without evidence, she then claimed: “But I think us as Americans love the idea of the Royal Family so much.”
Recalling the royal fallout, she expressed: “I was just like…urgh. People do things and you don’t know why and you don’t know what’s going on inside of them. So, I don’t judge.”
“But I was like, ah man, because I felt like I knew them in some way,” Minaj added, referring again to her parasocial attachment to Britain’s expensive human mascots.
“So I was like, ‘no Harry, don’t do that. You know better,’” she complained.
Minaj once again adopted a faux British accent: “You know what I mean. But he did what he did.”
She is referring to Harry penning a book about his life — which of course refers to interactions, some negative, within his family.
Harry has also spoken on these topics in interviews.
This feels like her actual opinion
It’s obviously very Trump-friendly and very MAGA to dismiss Meghan Markle. But even Trump seems disinterested in penalizing or deporting Harry.
This seems like, in addition to the general malice that we see from Minaj on other topics, something very true to who she is as a person.
Minaj’s husband is a registered sex offender. Her brother is in prison for raping a young girl. Her father was a nightmare.
She loves to insult other people’s children, but Minaj doesn’t want anyone talking about her life or her family.
Perhaps she’s projecting that onto the royals. Or maybe this was just her best guess at what her new, fascist-friendly audience wants to hear from her. If so, she was probably right.

We have troubling news to report out of the Atlanta area:
Lil Jon’s son Nathan Murray Smith — who is professionally known as DJ Young Slade — has reportedly gone missing.
And sources tell TMZ that the disappearance of the 28-year-old is an active police matter.
Slade — legal name Nathan Murray Smith — reportedly ran out of his home on foot earlier this week and hasn’t been seen since.
His family told police he doesn’t have a phone, and he may be disoriented and in need of help.
“Family and friends are concerned for his safety,” the Milton Police Department’s report reads.
Police did not provide any information regarding Slade’s possible reasons for fleeing his home on foot or where he may have been headed.
Slade — who is described as being 5’9″ and 150 pounds — was last seen near his home in Milton, Georgia, about 30 miles north of Atlanta.
Like his father, Slade is a hip hop DJ and producer.
The father-and-son duo have taken the stage together at numerous live events.
“The family is asking for privacy at this time,” a rep for Lil Jon said in a statement issued moments ago.
“We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe. Thank you.”
Officials are asking anyone who has seen Smith or has any information about Slade’s whereabouts to call the Milton Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch line at (678) 297-6300 option 1.
