As police continue their search for Nancy Guthrie, we have new information about the ransom notes allegedly written by her kidnappers.
As you’ve likely heard by now, the 84-year-old mother of Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie was taken from her home late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
She remains missing, and multiple news agencies say that they’ve received emails demanding millions in Bitcoin in exchange for Nancy’s safe return.
Now, authorities have revealed that the notes contain two deadlines, the first of which is 5 pm on Thursday, February 5.
It is not clear what will happen if that deadline is not met, but TMZ reports that “the demands” of Nancy’s alleged kidnappers “will change.”
The outlet reports that the second deadline, Monday, February 9, will come with “a more serious consequence” if it is not met.
When news of the ransom notes first went public, many dismissed them as a hoax and speculated that they were sent by scam artists with no knowledge of Nancy’s whereabouts.
Now, however, there’s reason to believe that the notes are being taken seriously.
For one thing, the Guthries posted a video on Wednesday in which they requested proof of life from Nancy’s alleged abductors.
“We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive, and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us,” Savannah said in the clip.
On top of that, one journalist who received a note — the messages were emailed to media outlets — says that there’s real reason to believe that Nancy is being held for ransom.
News of the two deadlined was revealed Thursday afternoon in a press conference hosted by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
In her daily press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that President Trump watched the press conference live.
“The President and I were watching the press conference about the search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, which is just a heartbreaking situation,” Leavitt said, adding:
“The federal government and the FBI have offered any and all resources, but the state and local authorities are still leading the investigation,” Leavitt added.
She further explained that Trump spoke with Savannah Guthrie on Wednesday and offered her the full support of the federal government.
“Any requests that are made by state and local officials in the search of Ms. Guthrie will absolutely be accommodated,” Leavitt said.
“I spoke with the FBI directly about that today as well, and our hearts and our prayers are with Savannah and her entire family as they search for her dear mother.

NFL and MLB legend Bo Jackson has maintained a relatively low profile since he retired from both leagues in the early 1990s.
But the 63-year-old gave a very candid interview on Thursday, and by doing so, he may have saved some lives.
During an appearance on Dan Patrick’s podcast, Jackson revealed that he’s in remission after battling prostate cancer.
“I am a cancer survivor,” Jackson told the audience.
“I had my prostate taken out. And this is coming from somebody that a lot of men around the country look up to. If I can talk about it, we should talk about it as men.”
From there, Jackson urged male listeners to set aside whatever fear or shame they might be feeling and get regular checkups.
“We think that it makes us less of a man, period,” he said, referring to routine prostate checks and colonoscopies.
“The only time we talk about that is when we’re behind closed doors with our doctors.”
Jackson revealed that he understands the anxiety that comes with getting tested, but he encouraged men not to be “afraid to go see your doctor.”
He said that he believes his treatment saved his life, and he greets each day with gratitude.
“I have two grandsons, who I have more fun with than any football game, baseball game I’ve ever played. My job as papa is to spoil the s–t out of my grandkids,” he explained.
From 1987 to 1990, Jackson played football for the Los Angeles Raiders, while also competing for the Kansas City Royals on the baseball field.
After ending his football career, Jackson continued playing baseball, winning the American League’s Comeback Player of the Year award before retiring in 1994.
Jackson also delivered his prediction for Sunday’s Super Bowl this week.
Speaking with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Jackson stated that he believes the Seattle Seahawks will emerge victorious because “they’ve got a complete game.”
We’re pretty sure everyone outside of the New England area is fond of that prediction.
Across social media, many have thanked Jackson for having the courage to speak out about his health and the importance of regular checkups.

His Grammy Awards performance drew many eyes, and not only because he performed in his underwear.
Bieber’s hairline has once again jumped to the fore (pun mostly unintended) of fan conversation.

First of all, he looks great
On Sunday, February 1, Justin Bieber performed for the first time in four years.
He of course made headlines — for ending his performance hiatus, and for performing solely in his underwear.
Clearly, the Biebs had been hitting the gym ahead of stripping down.
His body looked great. Better than fans expected it to, if we’re being honest.
However, there was one detail that caught people’s attention — and truly took some by surprise.
Everyone enjoys a good Bieber thirst trap.
But some photos panned upwards, focusing upon his hair and his hairline.
More recent snaps of the singer have shown him with his hair, especially towards the front of his scalp, appearing to thin.
Meanwhile, at the Grammy Awards, the Biebs appeared to have thicker hair.
His hairline appeared to be lower and more full. and the somewhat stubby clumps of hair might, some speculated, be evidence of a hair transplant.

Yeah, some people were a little mean
A European airline, Ryanair, quote-tweeted a post that had zoomed in on Bieber’s alleged hair plugs.
“I can recognize a poorly done hair transplant from a mile away,” claimed the original poster, one day after teh Grammys.
In their own tweet, Ryanair wrote: “Should’ve gone to Turkey.”
Turkey has earned a reputation as a destination for surgical tourism, specifically for cosmetic procedures.
Ryanair is sharing a rather mean-spirited suggestion that people can book tickets (perhaps on Ryanair) to fly to undergo cosmetic work such as hair transplants.
Just to be clear, Bieber has not confirmed that he underwent a hair transplant. This is merely speculation.
But it isn’t just catty European brands that still choose to advertise on an evil man’s social media platform who are saying it.
Under this recent Instagram post, commenters spent even more time speculating about Bieber’s hair than slamming his dad. Which is saying a lot, considering.
Random social media denizens and experts alike have weighed in, describing Bieber’s apparent receding hairline from around the time that he married in 2018.
(There is a known phenomenon of young men realizing that they are experiencing hair loss and then rushing to find a bride. Some believe that this is what drove Prince William to take Kate Middleton to the altar. Is that why Bieber seemed desperate to woo Selena Gomez and then immediately moved on to Hailey after striking out?)
Whatever happened, it only matters how HE likes his appearance
If Bieber did receive hair transplants, he likely underwent multiple iterations of the procedure over the course of months or even years.
And you know what? Good for him. Having more or less hair is often a part of a person’s gender presentation, and everyone deserves gender affirming care.
Additionally, society can sometimes be particularly unkind to men who begin to go bald in their 20s. It is not a sign of rapid aging, it is simply an interaction of testosterone and genetics.
Some of Bieber’s fans have expressed shock over his apparent hair loss. But it’s normal for bodies to change, and that includes adult bodies.
For what it’s worth, Bieber looks great. And we’re not just saying that because of his thirst traps. Mostly.

As you’ve probably heard by now, Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing on Saturday night.
Police now believe that Nancy was abducted from her home and badly injured in the process.
Earlier this week, staff at TMZ claimed to have received a ransom note demanding millions in Bitcoin in exchange for Nancy’s safe return.
Many were quick to dismiss the note as a hoax.
After all, they reasoned, this would be an easy way for a grifter to nab millions in Bitcoin despite having no knowledge of Nancy’s whereabouts.
But now there’s reason to believe that the note is legitimate.
For one thing, the Guthrie family seems to be taking it seriously. Savannah and her siblings issued a public plea for information on Wednesday night.
In the video, the Guthries requested proof of life from the authors of the ransom note.
“We, too, have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can,” Savannah said at one point, adding:
“We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen.”
Now, a local reporter in Tucson is claiming the outlet that she works for also received a ransom email pertaining to Nancy’s disappearance.
The journalist, Mary Coleman, told CNN (via Radar Online) that it was “clear after a couple of sentences” that the note may not be “a hoax.”
“A lot of it is information that only someone who was holding her for ransom would know,” Coleman revealed.
She added that the note contained “very sensitive information” and “things that people who weren’t there when she was taken captive wouldn’t know.”
These details included a “dollar amount, a deadline,” and “other specifics that only Guthrie’s abductor might know, so that definitely raised some red flags.”
“We immediately sent that information over to the sheriff’s department, and they’re, of course, looking into the legitimacy of it,” she said.
Obviously, all parties involved are being very selective with their comments due to the sensitivity of this situation.
We can only hope that Nancy will be returned to her loved ones soon, one way or another.

Even embattled moguls can run short on friends.
In June of 2025, an actor accused Tyler Perry of sexual assault, filing a hefty lawsuit against the billionaire producer.
More recently, a second former employee came forward with a similar allegation.
A new report says that Perry’s famous friends are deliberately avoiding him — for fear of whatever comes next.
Mario Rodriguez and Derek Dixon both worked for him on different projects
Years ago, Mario Rodriguez appeared in Boo! A Madea Halloween.
In December of 2025, he filed a lawsuit, accusing Perry of sexual battery.
He alleged that Perry had made unwanted sexual advances, including touching his penis through his clothing.
According to Rodriguez, this took palce when he was being cast in the film and shortly after filming wrapped in 2016.
In 2018, the two apparently got back in touch and repeatedly spoke again, with their text messages over the years appearing cordial and even friendly.

This of course comes on the heels of actor Derek Dixon’s lawsuit, accusing Perry of using his power as an extremely influential producer to commit alleged sexual assaults and then pressure people into silence.
Dixon appeared in multiple Perry projects — most notably in The Oval. (If you weren’t aware, Perry has a whole slew of projects that have entirely flown under the radar unless you stumble across them)
Prior to filing his lawsuit, Dixon filed an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sexual harassment complaint against Perry in 2024.
When that did not seem to induce any changes, he says, he turned to a lawsuit.
Not unlike Rodriguez, Dixon’s 2025 lawsuit described Perry allegedly using his power and access as an influential producer to engage in sexual misconduct and to get away with it. (Perry has denied the allegations against him)
Now, other pals in the entertainment industry are steering clear
A RadarOnline report claims that Perry’s friends and associates in the entertainment industry are giving him a wide berth.
“People are stunned by how quiet his friends are,” an alleged inside source dished.
Perry’s circle of friends has included everyone from Kerry Wahsington to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Barack and Michelle Obama.
But none of them have rushed to speak out to defend the billionaire entertainment mogul.
“Normally Meghan would rush out with public support,” the insider suggested. “This time? Nothing. Not a word.”
According to the report, this goes beyond Perry’s alleged actions and bleeds into who was aware of them.
“This isn’t just about Tyler anymore,” claimed the source.
“It’s about who knew what,” the insider explained, “and when.”
As we have seen with the bone-chilling horrors of the Epstein files, there are often people who do not participate in crimes who are within the orbit of a powerful, influential predator.
Simply put, you don’t want to be one of the names in a story like that. Though, unlike with Epstein, the allegations surrounding Perry remain unproven and solely involve adults.
Is more coming? No one seems to know
However, there is a concern that Dixon and Rodriguez are not the only men who may come forward.
If and when the other (well, the third) shoe drops, Perry’s acquaintances worry about
“No one wants to be the first celebrity photographed standing next to him if this gets worse,” the alleged inside source summarized.
We have to once again emphasize that Perry has not bee convicted of a crime or successfully sued based upon these allegations. Even without more accusers, this legal dispute could continue for years.
Whatever the outcome, there will be those in or who have been in Perry’s orbit who will wish that they had made different choices.
