Former Arizona senator Kyrsten Sinema is finally addressing the rumor that she had an affair with her bodyguard.
And just like the adulterous congressman Tony Gonzales before her, she’s admitting that it really happened.
But she insists that she shouldn’t be sued over her sexcapades — and she might win on a technicality. Here’s what happened:
In case you missed it, Heather Ammel, the ex-wife of Matthew Ammel, has filed a suit against Synema, accusing her of ruining her marriage.
(North Carolina’s “homewrecker law” allows third parties who slept with married people to be sued in connection with alienation of affection allegations.)
Now, Sinema has filed a motion to dismiss, in which she admits that she did, in fact, have a sexual relationship with Ammel (per TMZ).
She acknowledges that she and Ammel became “romantic and intimate” in late May 2024 — five months before he separated from his wife.
She says their first encounter took place on May 27 in Sonoma, California, and they proceeded to bang in several other locations, including New York City, Washington, D.C., Aspen, and Phoenix.
Yes, the relationship wasn’t exactly confined to one ZIP code.
And if you’re wondering why Sinema is suddenly offering what amounts to a travel itinerary of romantic rendezvous, there’s a legal reason for that.
Heather Ammel filed her lawsuit in North Carolina, one of very few states that still allows “alienation of affection” suits — meaning a spouse can sue someone they believe interfered in their marriage.
But Sinema says the case should be thrown out because none of the alleged hookups actually took place in North Carolina.
Ammel also claims Sinema sent romantic messages to her husband while he was in North Carolina, including a photo of the senator wrapped in nothing but a towel.
Sinema disputes that allegation and says even if such a message existed, she had no idea he was in the state at the time.
So yes, Sinema is acknowledging the relationship.
But she’s also making it clear that admitting the affair doesn’t mean she’s accepting legal responsibility for the breakup of a marriage, especially in a state where she claims the alleged relationship never actually happened.
In other words: the former senator isn’t denying the scandal.
She’s just arguing it happened in the wrong jurisdiction. The judge has yet to rule this loophole.

Carmine Agnello is facing years behind bars.
But not if his mother has any say in the matter.
Victoria Gotti is urging the court to grant her son probation for his 7-figure fraud scheme.
He pleaded guilty. And, she says, he is also her kidney donor for her upcoming transplant.
A plea for leniency
This week, The New York Daily News obtained and reported on a letter that Victoria Gotti submited to federal court.
Writing to US District Court Judge Nusrat Choudhury, she begged the justice system to spare her eldest son, Carmine Agnello, from a prison sentence.
Carmine plans to donate one of his kidneys to her, she argues.
As such, she’d like for him to remain out of prison for his healthcare needs — and, in turn, for hers.
Carmine is 39. Unless the court follows Victoria’s plea, it is expected that he will spend time in prison.
“Your Honor, you want to know what kind of a young man Carmine is?” Victoria wrote.
“On my life, my upcoming transplant, THAT is the kind of young man my son is,” she praised.
Victoria announced: “He is giving me the GIFT OF LIFE.”
That is an inspiring thing for her son to do.
Ultimately, it will be up to the court to determine if this should mean an alteration to his prison sentence.
$1.1 million is a lot of fraud
Long Island federal court is preparing to sentence Carmine, the eldest of her three sons.
(He should not be confused with Carmine “The Bull” Agnello, who was his father and who also went to prison.)
In 2024, he pleaded guilty to fraud charges.
Carmine admitted to misusing COVID-19 relief loans in total of about $1.1 million.
A substantial portion of the money in those loans went to cryptocurrency.
Prosecutors hope that the court will sentence Carmine to 33 to 41 months behind bars.
They are also seeking restitution to the tune of $1.25 million.
Currently, Carmine is out on bond. But with sentencing swiftly approaching, that could soon change.
Her attorney echoed her sentiments. His suggestion to the court is that Carmine receive probation.
Additionally, her lawyer wrote: “Undergoing this transplant means that custody in the [Bureau of Prisons] is a huge risk.”
Kidney donation is noble, but might not be a sentencing factor
Federal prosecutors aren’t exactly in agreement.
“Being a kidney donor does not… constitute extraordinary family circumstances,” one US attorney wrote.
The prosecutorial argument is that the Bureau of Prisons is capable of handling things like Carmine’s transportation and medical needs for a kidney donation.
It is, of course, an inspiring thing for a son to give his mother a life-saving organ donation.
But doing good things cannot always cancel out doing bad things. Being a good son and a good citizen are not synonymous.

Was the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother an isolated incident?
Sheriff Nanos doesn’t want people to assume so.
The fate of Nancy Guthrie remains unknown.
“Keep your wits about you,” he urges people. If it happened to the Guthries, it could happen to someone else.
Believing that this was targeted and knowing are different things
On Thursday, March 12, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos answered some blunt questions about the tragic disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother.
Speaking to NBC News, he admitted that the suspect could “absolutely” strike again.
“We believe we know why he did this,” he confirmed.
He also confirmed that officials “believe [Nancy] was targeted” for this crime.
However, he cautioned that investigators are understandably “not 100 percent sure of that.”
Sheriff Nanos quickly made it clear that he wants people to use their common sense.
“It’d be silly to tell people, ‘Yeah, don’t worry about it. You’re, you’re not his target,’” he reasoned.
In fact, he went on to encourage people to not think of home invasions and kidnappings as a one-and-done crime.
“Don’t think for a minute that because it happened to the Guthrie family, you’re safe,” he cautioned.
“No,” Nanos emphasized. “Keep your wits about you.”
Each day that passes makes this worse and worse
The search of Nancy is nearing its sixth week.
Aside from her abductor, the last person to see Savannah Guthrie’s mother spotted her on January 31.
Nancy is 84 years old. She has medications that she needs to be taking in order to remain healthy.
Though the amount of blood found at her home was not considered in and of itself life-threatening.
However, everything — the unclear motive, the lack of proof of life, the weeks without results, and Nancy’s health — paint a dreadful picture.
Savannah has used her platform to share multiple pleas for her mother’s safe return.
She has also offered $1 million for information. The lack of response seems to suggest that safe return is no longer an option.
Savannah has acknowledged that her mother “may already be gone.”
She continued: “If this is what is to be, then we will accept it, but we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”
Amidst massive public support, she has remained on hiatus from The Today Show as her thoughts and attention are with her mother.
This is a senseless crime
There is no good time to be kidnapped and possibly murdered. But 2026 is perhaps the worst time.
Right now, the federal government is disinterested at best in the plight of the Guthrie family.
As Savannah has poured her heart and soul into searching for answers, Trump’s head of the FBI went to party in the locker room of the men’s hockey team in Milan.
Was the search for Nancy botched? We don’t yet know.
At present, it appears that her abduction was botched. That’s a popular theory, at least.
This is a devastating tragedy. And everyone should remain on their guard.

We don’t need to tell you that these are uneasy times in America.
The war with Iran has brought simmering tensions to a boiling point, and every day, millions of social media users — some of them former Trump supporters — are venting their frustrations online.
But in debating these issues, it’s important that we don’t forget our humanity — say, by harassing teenagers or bashing people for physical characteristics that can’t be helped.
Yes, depending on your worldview, 18-year-old Kai Trump might be on the wrong side of history.
In fact, in her work as an influencer might — again, depending on where you fall on the political spectrum — be helping to normalize a homicidal regime that’s currently decimating and destabilizing a region that’s home to nearly half a billion people.
So it’s fair game to bash Kai and her family’s politics.
But if you feel inclined to insult her appearance or her way of speaking, maybe remind yourself that she’s a literal teenager.
Earlier this week, Kai posted a video in which she visited the ultra-posh supermarket Erewhon.
And the clip unexpectedly became a teachable moment, as it highlighted the kind of trash talk that’s acceptable in relation to political figures and the kind that’s wholly inappropriate.
Remember, if you bash a politician for being overweight (for example), the politician probably won’t see it — but your overweight friend will.
In Kai’s case, go ahead and talk trash about how she and her family are completely out of touch with the struggles of the average American.
Go ahead and joke about how tone deaf it is to flaunt the fact that you’re spending outrageous amounts of cash on luxury goods at a time when millions are struggling to put food on the table.
But don’t make wisecracks about Kai’s alleged “speech impediment” as so many on X (formerly Twitter) have done in response to her recent post and her previous public appearances.
“Does Kai Trump have a speech impediment? Not trying to be rude here, but she slurs her words a lot when talking,” one X user wrote.
“Kai Trump got a speech impediment or something,” another added.
“Does Kai Trump have an accent or a speech impediment?” a third chimed in.
Don’t get us wrong, the clip — titled “I Brought My Secret Service to Erewhon” — is a tough watch.
But that’s because Kai really did bring her tax-payer-funded Secret Service detail to a grocery store for rich people so that she could make jokes about being poor.
“I’m about to go, like, bankrupt with this stuff,” she says in the video. “I’m going to need to file for bankruptcy.”
Yes, it’s a weird time for that sort of “humor.”
But if Kai does have a speech impediment, it’s extremely minor. And it’s not the sort of thing that adults (or anyone) should be commenting on.
There are much, much larger issues to focus on with regard to her family. In fact, you can be almost certain that some sort of new controversy unfolded in the time it took you to read this article.

Last year, Ray J made RICO allegations against the Kardashians without presenting any evidence.
Kris and Kim’s lawsuit against him that followed was no surprise.
The rapper then filed his own lawsuit, accusing the mother-daughter duo of releasing his and Kim’s infamous sex tape and blaming him for it.
Kris and Kim had to give sworn testimony. Now, Ray J accuses them of lying under oath.
Perjury is a very serious allegation
Both Ray J and his mother are accusing Kim and Kris of perjury.
In sworn declarations this week, both mother and daughter flatly denied Ray J’s claim that they had orchestrated the 2007 sex tape’s release.
Specifically, they called the claim “a lie” and “absolutely false.” That’s not ambiguous!
“As a mother, the notion that I orchestrated or produced sex tapes involving my daughter, or was in any way involved in the creation or distribution of any sex tapes,” Kris Jenner wrote.
Her statement continued, saying that the claim “is not only entirely untrue but deeply offensive and harmful and has haunted me for decades.”
Kris expressed: “I was absolutely heartbroken, crushed, and devastated as a mother to see my daughter in this situation where her most intimate and private moments were exposed to the world.”
Meanwhile, Kim highlighted that she had spent money to counter Ray J’s story.
She highlighted how she’d gone to therapy as well as worked with legal experts and strategic communication specialists.
“His claim that I had a plan with my mother and others to release a sex tape, defraud the public, and file a ‘fake’ lawsuit against the porn company that released it to ‘create buzz’ is a lie,” Kim stated flatly.
These statements from Kim and Kris were part of a filing in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, March 11.
It sounds like he’s calling for them to be prosecuted
Now, Ray J and his mother are telling TMZ that Kim and Kris “completely lied about everything.” That is a serious allegation, especially without evidence.
“Are [Kim & Kris] out of their f–king minds?” he asked.
“The fact of the matter is, if you lie like that under oath, don’t you go to jail?” Ray J asked. “Don’t you get fined?”
He also explained that his goal for the lawsuit relates to his children, Melody and Epik.
Ray J argued that his kids “don’t deserve to grow up thinking their dad did something like revenge porn or hurt someone on purpose.”
“That’s not the truth,” Ray J claimed, “and I’m not going to let that narrative follow them through their lives.”
That same day, Sonja Norwood — his mother — took to Facebook to back up his side of the story.
“I am no longer going to sit back and watch my son be ‘dogged’ on social media over this matter when Ray J and I, Kris and Kim, and many others know the truth,” she declared.
“And Kris, momager, you say you did not orchestrate the commercial release of the tape,” she challenged. “Then who did?”
Norwood continued: “I support Ray J and his journey to bring the truth forward.”
Obviously, we don’t claim to have special knowledge of the facts of this case
Conventional wisdom has, for nearly two decades, said that Kim and Ray J’s sex tape leaked, and that Kris was saddened as a mom but excited as an opportunist.
Since then, Kim and Kris capitalized upon the attention, catapulting their family to a 10-figure fortune with multiple reality shows and businesses.
Ray J is presenting the claim that Kris and Kim are outright lying.
Is it possible that he has always believed that they released the tape — even if it’s untrue?
We cannot say that we know the inner workings of his mind. But accusing someone of perjury is a pretty serious allegation.
