Earlier this week, the popular influencer James Wehr was killed in a car wreck at the age of 27.

His passenger has now been identified as a 22-year-old bartender from Florida named Alexis “Lexi” Kramer

And the story of why a married man was speeding around town with a woman who was not his wife has sparked an intense post-mortem controversy.

After making his acquaintance through Instagram messages, Lexi flew from Lakeland, Florida to Los Angeles to meet Wehr.

Her family tells The New York Post that she was under the impression that James had separated from his wife, Emma Wehr, and was in the process of divorcing her.

That turned out not to be the case, as the family reportedly discovered in subsequent phone conversations with Emma.

Records in Orange County, California, where the couple resided, do not indicate that either party had filed for divorce.

And while it’s possible that James and Emma may have been separated, the couple had not made any sort of announcement to that effect.

And as many social media users have noted, in her Instagram tribute to her late husband, Emma referred to James as the “greatest blessing” in her life.

Kramer’s family members say they’re furious, as they believe that Lexi was lured to California under false pretenses and that she died as a result of James’ lies.

“[He] talked to her every day all the time and finally got her to fly out to California to come see him,” one anonymous family member told the Post, adding Lexi had a passion for “American muscle cars and motorcycles.”

“She loved the car community, so it’s such a tragedy that that’s what ended her,”

The family member noted that James and Lexi went to dinner at Nobu and drinks at the Pendry Hotel hours before the fatal crash.

“As you can imagine, this was very shocking and hard. She was kind and funny and charismatic and I’ve had so many people reach out and share their wonderful experiences with Lexi,” said the source.

Lexi was a recent college grad, and her Instagram bio indicates that she posed for the 2026 Hooters calendar.

“My mother always told us growing up that there was always only one person meant to be with you and have your back no matter what and that would always be your sister,” her sister wrote in a lengthy Instagram tribute (per the Post).

“Lexi was so much more than just my best friend, she was all of my love, my heart, my attitude, and my humor wrapped into a smaller, more chaotic, less filtered, package.”

“James, I never thought the day would come that I’d have to say such a final goodbye. Getting the opportunity to love you will always be the greatest blessing in my life,” Emma wrote of her late husband.

“You’re smart, kind, funny, loving, and genuinely one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Getting the opportunity to love you will always be the greatest blessing in my life.”

Five years ago, Chris Harrison left the Bachelor franchise behind forever.

It was not on good terms. A number of folks from the reality TV franchise had come forward about his behavior.

Despite — or perhaps, because of — the controversy, Harrison has now landed at a new show at a new network.

The Vow premieres this autumn. And he’s getting some pot shots in, aimed at his old bosses at ABC.

Chris Harrison is BACK with a vengeance and a new reality show

FOX Nation has announced that Chris Harrison’s The Vow will premiere on November 11, 2026.

That’s less than two months away, folks.

The first season will follow a 30-year-old bachelor by the name of Jace Cates.

He will test his compatibility in values, communication, faith, and more with 10 women.

In the trailer, Harrison quips: “Roses fade, true love lasts forever.”

If you are unfamiliar, this is a two-pronged jab at The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and all other aspects of the franchise.

Roses are a key motif of the series, a somewhat hamfisted symbol for affection — and who gets to stay and who must depart.

Reality TV is not, as a general rule, healthy for long-term relationships.

(There are rare exceptions — like how it’s generally understood that starring on RHOC helped Emily Simpson’s marriage a little less dysfunctional.)

So the line about “true love” lasting “forever” appears to be a less-than-subtle shot at how the Bachelor franchise is great at hooking people up, but how these romances tend to fizzle out quickly.

‘Can genuine, lasting love still be found in the modern world?’ (Yes, obviously)

According to Chris Harrison, The Vow asks one primary question.

“Can genuine, lasting love still be found in the modern world?” the show apparently asks. “The stakes couldn’t be higher.”

(The stakes could be higher. If you break up with someone you’ve just gotten with, you process your feelings and move on.)

To be clear, Harrison did not directly mention The Bachelor despite the rose imagery and the clear nods to his former gig.

Instead, he appears to be doing some vice signaling in order to draw in a very specific type of viewer.

(Longtime Harrison-supporter Sean Lowe is set to make an appearance, so there will be more than one familiar face for any crossover viewers.)

“We were inspired by the faith-driven renaissance happening across America,” Harrison said.

“And as a result, I believe we’ve created the most authentic dating show on television today,” he claimed.

Harrison is just vague enough that maybe he’s referring to dating without apps, or maybe he’s referring to the misogynistic domestic servitude fantasy of tradwives. We don’t know what he means, so anyone can project whatever they like — which is likely the whole point.

To be blunt, it sounds like The Vow is going to be for The Bachelor viewers who want a cast of hopefuls who dress modestly, are more white, are more vocally Christian, are less sexually active, are (even) more straight, and who will therefore appeal to the audience that the ABC franchise shed by coming slightly closer to representing real America.

Will the show actually resemble this conservative fantasy? And, if so, will it make good television? Those are both excellent questions.

Lena Dunham is now a mom!

Years before she married her husband, the Girls star underwent a hysterectomy.

That has not stopped them from growing their family via a gestational surrogate.

Dunham has opened up about the experience in her own, heartfelt words.

On Wednesday, September 16, Lena Dunham revealed that she and husband Luis Felber are now parents.

The two welcomed a child via gestational carrier, she detailed in a Vogue op-ed, zeroing in on her bond with the surrogate.

“The feelings I thought would be there somehow weren’t: namely jealousy, that this woman could do for a child — for my child — what I could not,” she confessed.

“Carry her safely in her body, use her form to feed and house her, regulate the baby’s ever-evolving nervous system with steadiness, heart, and breath,” Dunham explained.

“Instead,” Dunham shared, “I felt a different kind of jealousy –toward said baby, for the chance to be tucked into someone who radiated such safety. I could just tell she knew how to steer an SUV in the snow.”

Dunham revealed that the gestation carrier informed her that she was pregnant — that implantation had been successful — by texting a photo of a pregnancy test.

“If I hadn’t already been lying down, I would have hit the floor, felled by a proprietary blend of shock and gratitude,” she recalled.

Dunham continued: “So now, all there was to do was wait.”

In fact, she waited longer than she had expected. Like many great people, Dunham’s daughter was born nearly two weeks past her due date.

“13 days late, in the face of a solar eclipse and a meteor shower, she announced herself,” Dunham described.

‘Hello. I’m your mama’

“I sat on a hospital bed, between the legs of a woman I hadn’t known a year ago,” Lena Dunham described.

She recalled “waiting for a glimpse of this person who I had been waiting for with something related to patience, but also none at all.”

Continuing, Dunham wrote: “I saw her face, gasping just as she did. Her eyes, wide and unfocused, taking in the light and shadow, blinking rapidly.”

She recited her first words to her baby: “Hello. I’m your mama. You look nothing like I thought you would, but exactly right. We’ve been waiting for you, do you know that? It was so nice of you to come.”

Though babies have no actual say in the matter, this is a common and very positive sentiment.

Dunham and Felber married in September of 2021.

Now, half a decade into their marriage, they have successfully expanded their family by one.

The two (and their newborn) are reportedly in the US at present.

However, they are expected to return to North London soon. That is Felber’s point of origin.

Some people have nightmare surrogates or other complications. It sounds like Dunham and Felber had much better luck.

It’s another tumultuous week in the life of Jenelle Evans.

And once again, it’s all playing out in public.

We’ll start with the fact that Jenelle posted a nude photo of herself on Facebook.

We’d share it here, but this is a PG-13, family-friendly site, you heathens!

That said, we know and love our audience, so you can check out Jenelle’s post here.

Many of the comments were highly critical of Jenelle, with quite a few wondering how she managed to sidestep Facebook’s rules about racy content.

But that’s not even Ms. Evans’ biggest controversy of the week!

As we previously reported, Jenelle and David Eason split again in August after briefly rekindling their relationship. Now, audio from a 911 call made by Jenelle on the day she kicked David out of her Florida home has surfaced — and it provides a pretty chaotic look at what happened behind closed doors.

According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Jenelle called 911 on the morning of August 18 and asked for a “police escort” because David was refusing to leave.

“I have my ex-boyfriend here and he was here ‘coparenting’ with me,” Jenelle told the operator. She explained that the two had gotten into an argument and that she had told David he needed to leave because her name was on the lease.

Jenelle claimed David was attempting to take her belongings, despite the fact that their divorce had already been finalized.

“He’s trying to say, ‘Oh, this is mine, this is mine,’” she said.

The situation escalated as the two argued over a set of car keys. At one point, David could be heard shouting in the background while Jenelle accused him of going through her purse and taking her keys.

Jenelle also told the operator that there was an active no-contact order between the former couple. According to the incident report obtained by The Ashley, police later confirmed that the order was still active after having difficulty locating it in their system.

The reality star became increasingly emotional during the call.

“I’m crying my eyes out over here and nobody cares!” Jenelle told the operator.

She also alleged that David had insulted their daughter, Ensley, during an earlier argument, including calling the nine-year-old a “drug addict.” Jenelle said both Ensley and her son Kaiser were at the house during the confrontation but remained in their rooms.

Eventually, Jenelle told the dispatcher that she believed David had left the property.

According to the police report, officers found David walking down the street near Jenelle’s home. He reportedly acknowledged that a no-contact order existed but told police that he and Jenelle had been living together for approximately a year while attempting to co-parent.

Jenelle confirmed to officers that the argument had remained verbal and had not turned physical.

David was not arrested. Officers advised him not to return to Jenelle’s home and advised Jenelle to transfer her existing protection order to Florida.

We’d like to think that that will be the end of the drama between these two — but we know better.

Booting Macklemore from the tour may have been a blunder for Ed Sheeran — and not just morally.

Macklemore said “Free Palestine” to thunderous applause days before he was iced out of the tour.

In the wake of this decision and Sheeran’s laughably bad statement on the matter, the losses have begun racking up.

Sheeran has lost over 200,000 Instagram followers. He has also lost all of the opening acts from his tour.

Ed Sheeran is shedding fans and supporting acts

In the (approximate) words of Justin Timberlake: “This is going to ruin the tour.”

On Tuesday, September 15, four of Ed Sheeran’s supporting acts for his North and South America tour quit on the spot.

Irish acts Aaron Rowe and Beoga, the Danish band Lukas Graham, and Finneas all took to social media to share the news.

Rowe and Lukas Graham would have reportedly served as replacements for Macklemore, who would have opened for most of Sheeran’s remaining shows in the US.

Beoga had been performing several songs with Sheeran. Finneas was scheduled to join Sheeran in South America.

The series of announcements came only hours after a public statement by Sheeran that was, critics say, so bad that it should be a teaching tool for public relations.

Among other things, he referred to the ongoing genocide in Gaza as “conflict between Israel and Palestine.”

Sheeran spoke of having attempted “to build a bridge” when Robert Kraft and his league of anti-Macklemore concert stadium-owners.

In general, he said “both sides” way too many times, as if this were a theoretical debate or a conflict and not a massive, livestreamed slaughter of entire families and communities.

Sheeran’s empty words, “I am not complicit,” ring hollow. We do not doubt that he believes those words. His critics, however, do not.

The solidarity with the plight of the Palestinian people is no surprise

While Ed Sheeran has lost around 200,000 followers (and counting), the acts distancing themselves from his tour have racked up over 1.6 million combined.

(To be blunt, many people critical of Sheeran are former fans or even current, disappointed fans, but many were already not following him or listening to his music.)

The thing is that no one, including the musician, should really feel surprise at these talents backing out.

Sheeran may be British, but his former support acts skewed Irish.

It is likely no surprise to any students of history to hear that the Irish people, by and large, have a great deal of sympathy for a nation of people who are being subjected to famine, cruelty, and war and are being systematically ground into dust by a more powerful neighbor.

By all accounts, Robert Kraft rounded up a group of stadium owners and insisted that they would bar Sheeran’s tour from playing if Macklemore were part of the package. (Many of these stadiums are not entirely private operations, so First Amendment issues may be at play.)

We fully believe that Sheeran tried to smooth things over. However, not everyone is convinced that he took a stand. Using his own words, it looks like he just wanted to make peace without saying anything important.

There are people in this world who cannot afford to take a stand. Many may feel astonished to learn that Sheeran has an estimated net worth of around $400 million or so. He is not one of those people.

Taking a stand is scary. You speak up against atrocities, and suddenly people like Pink are pretending that you’re missing some piece of nuance or are secretly bigoted or whatever.

But if the support acts — who are not as globally famous or wealthy as Sheeran — can take a stand like this, why can’t the singer himself?

Which disappoints fans more — not being able to see him play in Robert Kraft’s stadium, or finding out that the singer lacks moral clarity?
