This spring, 90 Day Fiance fans first learned of Jenny Slatten’s ALS diagnosis.

In a recent update, Sumit Singh explained that his wife essentially can no longer speak as the disease progresses.

Now, Jenny is sharing a video of her speaking to show how different things have become in just a few years.

In an inspiring message, she encourages fans to never take the present for granted.

On Sunday, October 4, 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way alum Jenny Slatten took to her Instagram to share a message.

She appreciates the support, financial and otherwise, from fans.

Even more, she is so grateful to her husband, Sumit Singh, for looking after her and communicating on her behalf as she battles ALS.

But she also wanted to show how much she has lost the ability to speak in the space of just a few years.

When she first debuted on TLC, some viewers made fun of her voice. Now, she wishes that she could go back to that.

“This is how I used to sounds and this was one of the very first Cameos I ever did,” Jenny began her caption.

Sure enough, the video shows her in a Cameo video — a made-to-order video service for people who are famous to record videos on request for paying fans — from a few years ago.

“I remember I could talk so much better back then,” Jenny acknowledged.

“But people used to make fun of the how I sounded,” she lamented. Many of us remember those comments. People in general, and especially certain vocal 90 Day Fiance fans, will find any reason to criticize a woman.

“Today, because of ALS, I can barely talk,” Jenny wrote. “And speaking has become very difficult for me.”

‘People don’t see what happens behind the closed doors’

“But I’ve learned that people will judge you at every step of life,” Jenny Slatten reflected in her caption.

“Just like people judged me then, I see people judging Sumit too,” she wrote.

“And it hurts me,” Jenny expressed, “because he is my husband, he loves me, and I know he will always love me.”

She praised: “He is also my only caregiver and helps me every day with my ALS and with things I can no longer do myself.”

Jenny reminded her fans and followers: “People don’t see what happens behind the closed doors.”

“So enjoy every day, appreciate what you have,” Jenny advised.

“And,” she emphasized, “don’t let other people’s opinions take away from your happiness.”

If Jenny were the sort to run from other people’s bad attitudes, she’d have let Sumit’s parents run her off years ago.

“Nothing stays the same forever,” Jenny concluded. “Today is the best — we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.”

There is now a recording from the aftermath of the Cornell University gang rape case.

In statements, some of the accused rapists have claimed that Jane Doe consented.

This recording shows that, as she attempted to piece together the timeline of what happened, her former “friend” attempted to convince her that she was sober when it all began.

As Jane Doe mentions the medical assistance that she’s required, he makes no mention of posting an invitation for his fellow frat bros to “whip it out.”

Three weeks after the alleged Cornell University gang rape, Jane Doe called one of the alleged rapists, Matthew Ingalls.

She was still trying to piece together the timeline of what had happened to her.

In the recording, which TMZ has shared in part, she told Ingalls that she’d had 10 shots of booze before going to the Chi Phi house party on that fateful night.

“You did tell me you were sober, by the way,” he claimed to her. “You said you hadn’t been anywhere.”

It is worth noting that, prior to this horror unfolding, Doe believed Ingalls to be her friend.

Jane Doe reminded Ingalls that she was out of it, and wondered how so many guys from his fraternity had ended up in the room with her.

“If I wanted to take this somewhere, what y’all did would be classified as gang rape,” she told him bluntly over the phone.

Ingalls shared his claim about the timeline, which he said lead to a threesome.

“So you, you, you come in, say hi. We start dancing for like maybe three to five minutes, and then I pop the question. You say yes,” he told her.

“So I go up to [redacted] who was on the dance floor too, and I pop the question, and he’s like ‘Yo,’ and then we go upstairs,” Ingalls continued.

‘There’s so much damage on my body and on my brain’

Jane Doe then asked for Ingalls’ help identifying all of the men now known as the Cornell 7.

She recalled four men in the room, maybe more.

Though he had claimed to her that she was sober, he also said that their memories might both be clouded.

“I have racked my brain for this mystery,” Ingalls claimed to her. “You know, it’s possible that both of us, like, remember this, and it’s not true.”

He did not, at any point in the recording, mention to her sharing a photo of her nude on the bed in the Snapchat group or inviting fraternity brothers to “come whip it out.”

During the call, Jane Doe told Ingalls that she had spent time in the emergency room and also in therapy.

She explained that “there’s so much damage on my body and on my brain.”

(It is important to remember that even professional sex workers, such as porn stars, can be and sometimes are injured during entirely consensual encounters. Obviously, someone who is neither a professional nor consenting may end up with physical injuries alongside psychological and emotional trauma.)

In November 2024, Jane Doe reported to Cornell University police that she had been gang raped in the frat house.

Two men, including Ingalls, were expelled. Others were merely suspended or had to write essays. The university allegedly withheld key evidence from prosecutors and no charges were filed at that time.

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert has died at the age of 84.

Hastert, who served as Speaker from 1999 to 2007, died Saturday of natural causes at his home in Illinois while receiving hospice care, according to Kendall County Coroner Jacquie Purcell.

His death closes the book on one of the more complicated political legacies in recent American history.

For years, Hastert was known as a relatively low-key Illinois Republican who unexpectedly rose to become one of the most powerful politicians in the country.

He took over as Speaker after Newt Gingrich’s resignation and went on to lead the House during President Bill Clinton’s impeachment proceedings.

He later worked closely with President George W. Bush to advance the administration’s agenda, including major tax cuts and an expansion of Medicare prescription drug benefits.

Hastert also became associated with the so-called “Hastert Rule,” an unwritten practice under which House Republican leaders generally avoided bringing legislation to the floor unless it had the support of a majority of the majority party.

But whatever accomplishments Hastert accumulated during his decades in politics were ultimately eclipsed by a shocking scandal.

In 2015, Hastert was charged with violating federal banking laws while making large cash payments to a former student. Prosecutors eventually revealed that the payments were intended to conceal Hastert’s sexual abuse of teenage boys while he was a high school teacher and wrestling coach.

Prosecutors said Hastert had abused at least four boys during his coaching career.

Because the alleged abuse had occurred decades earlier, Hastert was not prosecuted for those acts. Instead, he pleaded guilty to financial crimes related to the hush-money payments.

He was sentenced in 2016 to 15 months in prison, becoming the highest-ranking U.S. elected official to serve a federal prison sentence at that time. During his sentencing, Hastert apologized to the boys he had “mistreated” as a coach.

The scandal destroyed his reputation.

His portrait was removed from the U.S. Capitol, and Wheaton College removed his name from a public policy center that had previously honored him.

Hastert left Congress in 2007 after Democrats regained control of the House and later worked as a lobbyist.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, and their two adult sons.

Whatever Hastert’s supporters may have remembered about his years in Washington, his final legacy was inevitably defined by the horrific conduct that emerged after his political career had ended.

On Wednesday of last week, Christa Pike was set to be executed.

She would have become the first woman put to death by the state of Tennessee in over 200 years.

Instead, Pike survived the execution and is now fighting for her life.

And her attorney says she may never fully recover from the botched attempt.

Pike remains unconscious and on a ventilator several days after Tennessee attempted to execute her by lethal injection.

Her attorney, Stephen Ferrell, provided the troubling update Sunday while appearing on CNN’s State of the Union.

“We don’t really know the prognosis yet and may not know for several days,” Ferrell said.

Asked whether Pike has regained consciousness since the September 30 execution attempt, Ferrell responded, “Not that I am aware.”

And the uncertainty doesn’t end there.

“I think one of the main things that will leave this up in the air for a while is the fact that we don’t know what the prognosis is,” Ferrell explained. “If she recovers — she may not fully recover. And there may be issues about her competence. We just don’t know any of this.”

That’s a particularly significant issue given that Pike could potentially face another execution attempt if her death sentence remains intact.

Pike’s legal team is instead asking Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee to commute her sentence to life in prison.

“She has already endured a torturous attempt at executing her,” Ferrell said.

The execution attempt reportedly involved two doses of pentobarbital after officials struggled to establish an IV.

Pike’s attorneys have said seven needles were used and that both of her arms were swollen, burned and blistered when she arrived at the hospital. They also said Pike could be heard crying and expressing pain during the procedure.

Tennessee has since halted executions for the remainder of the year while an independent investigation into what happened is conducted. The state’s corrections commissioner, Frank Strada, has also resigned.

Pike was sentenced to death for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. She has spent decades on death row and was scheduled to become the first woman executed by Tennessee in more than 200 years.

Now, however, the biggest question may not be when Tennessee will attempt to execute Pike again.

It’s whether she will ever be healthy enough for that question to matter.

On the evening of Sunday, October 4, 27-year-old Country singer Alexis Wilkins took to her Instagram to share some news.

“Went and got the law involved,” she captioned the photo.

The photo itself showed a black-and-white image of her with 46-year-old boyfriend Kash Patel.

Patel, whose eyes appeared to be facing directly at the camera (at least in the photo), wore a smile.

Wilkins was also smiling as she held up her left hand, showing off a dazzling engagement ring.

In her caption, Wilkins shared a ring emoji and a red heart emoji.

Obviously, in theory, any one person could unilaterally share an out-of-context or doctored photograph to announce big news. (Especially if the poster is the less famous member of a couple).

In case there were any doubts, Patel confirmed the news.

In a quote-tweet, he, too, shared the ring emoji and the red heart emoji.

The news has been controversial, to say the least. But perhaps the couple has friends or loved ones who are happy for them.

Their relationship has been controversial since the public first learned of it

In January of 2023, Kash Patel and Alexis Wilkins began dating after having met a few months earlier at a friend’s house party in Nashville.

However, both of them remained obscure-to-unknown figures until Patel became the Trump regime’s FBI Director. Notably, a conspiracy theorist podcaster became Deputy Director under him.

Almost immediately, public awareness of Wilkins arose because of Patel using FBI resources to travel to see her perform, even if it were nothing but the National Anthem.

Not all of Patel’s brazenly unprofessional use of time and resources has involved Wilkins. (Anyone else remember him partying it up in Italy at the Olympics, not long after Nancy Guthrie’s abduction?)

However, there is a public perception that he prioritizes his relationship with Wilkins and apparently a luxurious schedule and accommodations when setting his travel itinerary. It is … unbecoming of his position.

Patel’s primary qualification as Trump’s FBI Director appears to be his loyalty to Trump himself.

He has shown some of that same loyalty towards Wilkins, viciously defending her — as if she were personally under attack — when accused of unprofessionalism.

(He has also insisted that past FBI Directors were even more capricious with their use of resources, which sounds unlikely but perhaps he knows something that we don’t.)

To be fair, Wilkins has also been accused of being a honeypot (the timeline doesn’t really work for that). That’s probably not a reasonable accusation, folks.

Patel is not a good person or a good FBI Director. By all accounts, Wilkins doesn’t seem to be such a great person either. Perhaps they’ll make each other happy.
