Karoline Leavitt is saying goodbye to the White House.

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that his press secretary will leave her position at the end of August, bringing an abrupt end to Leavitt’s tenure as one of the most visible members of his administration.

Trump shared the news on social media, praising Leavitt as one of his “most trusted aides” and making clear that her departure will not be the end of her political career.

According to the President, Leavitt is stepping down so she can spend more time with her family.

The 28-year-old recently returned to work following maternity leave after giving birth to her second child, a daughter, in May. She and husband Nicholas Riccio, 60, also share a two-year-old son.

Leavitt’s departure is one of many recent personnel shakeups in the Trump administration.

In March, Kristi Noem was fired from her post as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Just weeks later, Attorney General Pam Bondi was also terminated.

And in May, Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation as U.S. Director of National Intelligence, also citing a desire to spend more time with family.

Leavitt addressed her decision in a statement of her own, describing it as a “bittersweet” choice.

“The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary,” she said.

“And that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life.”

Leavitt has served as Trump’s press secretary since he returned to the White House in January 2025.

She previously worked as a press aide during his first administration and later became a prominent member of his 2024 campaign.

She made history as the youngest person ever to serve as White House press secretary.

Her departure comes at a particularly important time for the Trump administration, with the 2026 midterm elections approaching.

Still, Trump indicated that Leavitt won’t be disappearing from the political scene.

He said she will remain one of his top outside advisers and continue to be an “influential voice” within the Republican Party as the administration works toward the midterms.

For now, however, Leavitt appears ready to trade the White House briefing room for more time with her family.

Earlier this week, we reported on the news that Brad Pitt is drinking again after seven years of sobriety.

The Oscar winner casually offered up that revelation in an interview with Esquire, but from the reaction on social media, you’d think he announced it at a press conference.

Lots of people are not thrilled with the fact that Brad is drinking again, which makes sense, given his alleged history of being a very problematic drunk (more on that later).

Perhaps in response to the criticism, a source close to Brad issued a statement:

“This is a very personal decision that’s unique to Brad and his own circumstances,” the insider told Page Six, adding that he’s had “a lot of time to reflect” on his drinking.

“Over time, his life changed and he reached a point where he felt comfortable making a different choice,” the source explained, adding:

“For him, that means moderation and being very conscious of his limits. He knows what those limits are and understands that drinking in moderation requires a level of discipline and self-awareness.”

The insider (who is obviously a rep for Pitt), added that the decision “doesn’t take away from the years he spent sober or what he learned during that time.”

“This is simply the decision he feels is right for him at this point in his life, and he’s committed to being responsible about it.”

But while lots of folks are criticizing Brad’s decision, others are drawing inspiration from it.

Take Conor McGregor, for example! The MMA legend got sober for his hilariously brief fight against Max Holloway, but he announced this week that he’s back off the wagon in solidarity with Brad.

McGregor tweeted that he would be downing some pints in support of his “fellow actor,” before urging Pitt to “take it easy.”

He later shared a video of a pint being poured in which he quipped, “This one’s for you, Mucker!”

Like Pitt, McGregor has been accused of violent and abusive behavior, though in both cases, the allegations remain unproven.

Angelina Jolie has long alleged that Pitt became physically abusive while he was drunk aboard a private jet flight in 2016.

Again, given those circumstances, the fact that Pitt has decided to resume drinking is striking a sour note with many social media users.

But addiction and recovery are different for everyone. And Brad seems confident that he’ll be able to moderate this time.

Donald Trump will never allow things like physical evidence to stand in the way of a vendetta.

Last week, he pitched a fit when Jeanine Pirro dropped the bogus charges accusing “vandals” of damaging the Reflecting Pool.

But Trump is not only refusing to acknowledge his role in the Greenwater scandal. He’s also pressing the DOJ to bring new charges against the same innocent man.

Perhaps that is why Pirro is now convening a special grand jury. Loyalty over truth.

He wants that man prosecuted, no matter the truth

The Wall Street Journal reports that White House officials spoke to the Justice Department’s Criminal Division last week.

Apparently, the topic was whether former Olympic athlete David Hearn could face another prosecution.

One consideration was whether the case could be pursued as a misdemeanor.

Notably, this would mean that prosecutors would not need to obtain an indictment from a grand jury in order go after Hearn.

As of the initial report, this was merely an exploration of the options that the federal government may have in punishing random people who were near the Reflecting Pool for the incompetence of Trump and the crony he hired.

Last week, the US Attorney’s office moved to drop the charges against Hearn because they were, well, nonsense.

Specifically, it was reported that the Department of the Interior had concealed evidence that the Reflecting Pool issues stemmed from a botched installation rather than from some sort of mythical act of vandalism.

Many people in Donald Trump’s orbit were appointed because they will say whatever he wants to hear and do whatever he wants them to do. That’s the nature of a mad king, after all.

However, prosecutors are held to special standards of behavior, and can face real consequences — including sanctions — if they prosecute someone while knowing that the person is innocent.

Trump clearly views all aspects of his regime as tools with which to punish his enemies. Even after Pirro showed him the evidence that the installation was botched, he couldn’t accept the truth — or let go of his “vandals” conspiracy theory.

It looks like Jeanine Pirro is choosing loyalty over professional ethics

On Wednesday, Pirro convened a special grand jury in DC, The Washington Post reports.

This appears to be a direct consequence of Trump’s continued irrational (or perhaps deliberate — more on that in a moment) fixation on blaming anyone but himself and his cronies for the sorry state of a national monument.

Pirro assembled the legal body, which could permit federal prosecutors to delve into major and controversial cases.

Steven Vandervelden is an ally of Pirro’s, and he will be heading the special grand jury.

Special grand juries — sometimes nicknamed blue ribbon panels or blue ribbon juries — can be controversial. They are supposed to be made up of people who have special qualifications to serve as jurors. (Almost the opposite of how a regular jury is selected.)

What is this really about?

Well, Donald Trump is dozing off on live television and, judging by the dark marks on his hands and arms, is either regularly receiving secret medical intervention or is afflicted by some necrotic curse. Maybe both?

With that in mind, it is possible that America’s mad king really is delusional enough to believe that an act of vandalism by random passersby sabotaged his big beautiful Reflecting Pool, rather than it being a natural consequence of his own incompetence and corruption.

However, some warn that this may be a calculated blow to show that the Trump regime will target and prosecute anyone it pleases, upending their lives for months or even years even if they are sure to be freed, exonerated, and perhaps even take home hefty financial settlements over time.

It seems that, no matter the case, a prosecution this baseless and malicious against a perceived enemy is a threat to American values.

Last month, the comedy community was shocked by the news that Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky were getting divorced.

In addition to raising two kids, the comics had spent years building up their wildly popular “Your Mom’s House” podcast,

Now, Segura is using that platform to share some remarkably candid comments about the end of his marriage.

And while the comedian made it clear that there’s no nasty battle brewing between the former couple, he also didn’t sugarcoat how difficult the split has been.

Calling the breakup a “horrible experience,” Segura admitted that the situation has been an emotional roller coaster.

“Your emotions change many times a day,” the 47-year-old explained. “You don’t feel the same all the time. It’s really tough on you.”

Segura also addressed his absence from last week’s episode, during which Pazsitzky tearfully discussed their divorce.

Apparently, some listeners were less than thrilled that Segura wasn’t there for the conversation.

The comic said he had been “bothered” by criticism over his absence, explaining that he and Pazsitzky had already been recording episodes separately for quite some time.

Since her episode came first, he said, she simply addressed the situation before he did.

The couple’s split first became public last month after 18 years of marriage.

Pazsitzky, 50, subsequently confirmed the news herself, telling listeners that she and Segura had spent years trying to save their relationship for the sake of their family.

“We gave it all we could, but we just couldn’t work things out,” she said during the August 5 episode of the podcast.

Despite the heartbreak, both comedians have emphasized that there’s no war between them. And Segura echoed that sentiment on Wednesday.

“We’re not combative,” he said, describing the divorce as “terrible” and “disappointing.” He added that the two still speak every day and continue to support one another.

“I support Christina in everything she does, and she supports me,” Segura said.

The former couple shares two sons, Ellis, 10, and Julian, 8, and they have made it clear that co-parenting remains their priority.

Pazsitzky previously explained that the family has even vacationed together since the separation, demonstrating that their relationship remains surprisingly amicable despite the end of their marriage.

The pair also intends to continue working together professionally when possible.

But if fans are hoping Segura will provide a play-by-play of what went wrong, they shouldn’t hold their breath.

“This is it for me,” he said. “I’m not gonna talk about this [more].”

Lucy Davis is best known for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Wonder Woman (2017), and the British version of The Office.

Now, she has a grave announcement to make.

At only 53, she has been diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.

The disease is ravaging her body, and has even spread to her bones. It is incurable.

‘I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer’

On Tuesday, August 11, Davis took to her Instagram page to share a video, possibly from the cancer ward of a hospital.

“Ring this bell three times well. It’s a toll to clearly say, ‘My treatments are done, the course has run and I am on my way,’” she reads as she rings a bell.

Her lengthy caption kept a similarly upbeat tone, even while conveying very somber news.

“Hi friends :),” she began. “I wanted to share something with you all that I’ve kept to myself for a while but for various reasons would like to share now.”

Davis revealed: “A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which has metastasized to my bones. Specifically to my spine, right hip, and my ribs.”

“The cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo,” Davis shared.

“The initial lump that I felt, wasn’t a ‘lump’ as such; rather a kind of hard spot. Really tiny,” she detailed. “I almost didn’t bother getting it checked.”

Davis advised: “So I guess I’m saying don’t ignore anything – get everything checked out :).”

She updated: “As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can.”

Upon reflection, Davis wrote: “I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there’s a lot I have learned from it, and I’m grateful for that.”

‘There’s nothing that will make you feel more unwell than being treated as if you’re unwell’

“As some of you will know, the pain can really be something else,” Davis acknowledged.

“Standing and walking for too long a time can be hard, and I need to use a wheelchair sometimes (so if you see me toddling around in one, feel free to give me a push!),” she added. Notably, many wheelchair users do not feel the same way.

“The thing that has been most vital to me is humour,” Davis affirmed. “I asked my friends and family to make fun of me as much as possible (which they’re really good at), and most importantly of all to not treat me like a sick person.”

She observed: “There’s nothing that will make you feel more unwell than being treated as if you’re unwell.”

Davis expressed: “I’m not scared of whatever comes next. I’m at peace with it. I’ll see my Gracie sooner than expected, and for me, leaving my physical body just means going home.” Gracie is her beloved dog, now deceased.

“Any and all grieving is for my family; it’s far harder for them than for me,” Davis emphasized. “I’m still going to keep up all my work for animal rights. It’s so important to me.”

She shared: “And I still would like to keep working. I’m perfectly able to do so, and acting is one of the biggest joys in my life.”

That is a not-so-subtle hint that she’d love to have some final roles on television and film.

“For those of you on a similar journey to mine, I do wish you well,” Davis expressed.

She concluded: “Cancer asks a lot from us, physically and mentally. And we all get to do it however we choose. Much love to you all.”

We are of course heartbroken by this news and wish Lucy Davis the very best.

We previously reported on how Victoria Gotti begged the court to keep her son out of prison.

Carmine Agnello, reality TV personality and grandson of deceased mob boss John Gotti, was her kidney donor.

The courts were lenient at first, allowing him to postpone his incarceration for his mother’s sake.

But the transplant never happened. The transplant was never even scheduled. And now, Agnello is behind bars.

‘The request for another deferral of Mr. Agnello’s self-surrender is unjustified’

The Associated Press reports that on Monday, August 10, Carmine Agnello finally began serving his 15-month prison term.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed this news the following day.

Agnello is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution Fairton (FCI Fairton) in New Jersey.

Originally, he would have begun serving his sentence in July.

The courts had previously allowed him to hold off — until they ran out of patience, trust, or both.

US District Court Judge Nusrat Choudhury had previously agreed to delay Agnello’s incarceration until September 18 — over a month from now.

That would, in theory, have given him enough time to undergo the transplant and then to recover from teh surgery.

Only if the surgery had taken place by August 10.

Victoria suffers from chronic kidney disease. The idea of her son offering her one of his kidneys was heartwarming to many.

On Monday, the judge issued an update: “Because there is no concrete evidence that an organ transplant will be scheduled to take place at any time between today and Sept. 18, 2026, the request for another deferral of Mr. Agnello’s self-surrender is unjustified.”

‘Clearly, the transplant surgery is not imminent’

“It is undisputed that Carmine is a great match for Ms. Gotti,” Agnello’s attorney argued on Monday.

“He is simply asking the Court to allow him to remain available to his mother during this very limited period,” he insisted.

Agnello wanted to remain free “while her doctors determine whether and when she can proceed with transplant.”

Prosecutors noted that the doctor’s notes indicated that they were still treating Gotti’s infections. No transplant could take place until that health issue was resolved.

“Clearly, the transplant surgery is not imminent,” argued the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Joseph Nocella. Clearly, the court agreed.

Victoria Gotti and Carmine Agnello both became reality TV personalities as they appeared on Growing Up Gotti.

The reality series, truly a product of its time, capitalized upon Ms. Gotti’s status at the daughter of an infamous crime boss.

Agnello pleaded guilty in 2024 to wire fraud in connection with a scheme in which he obtained $1.1 million in COVID-related small business loans.

In addition to his 15-month sentence, he must repay the money that he fraudulently obtained, perform 100 hours of community service, and be under supervised release for a period of two years.

Perhaps the court will allow him to donate his kidney during his incarceration. But it appears that the window during which he could recover from such a surgery at home has now closed.
