As we previously reported, convicted murderer Christa Pike is currently hospitalized after surviving a botched execution.

Pike received two injections of phenobarbitol on Wednesday after being sentenced to death for the murder of Colleen Slemmer.

Her lawyers say Pike is still in critical condition and unable to communicate.

The attempted execution was supposed to be a carefully controlled procedure.

Instead, it quickly became clear to witnesses that something had gone seriously wrong.

Now, one of the few people who witnessed the execution firsthand is describing the moment he realized the situation was anything but routine.

Will Puckett was among just seven media witnesses inside the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville on Wednesday night.

According to Puckett, the first warning sign came before witnesses even saw Pike.

“As we’re sitting in this room, and it’s now taking nearly an hour for them to open the curtain from the time that we’re sat,” Puckett told The US Sun, one of his fellow witnesses leaned over and told him, “It should not be taking this long for the curtains to open. Something’s going wrong.”

That assessment proved to be correct.

Puckett described the experience as “surreal” and said he was left “at a loss for words” as the procedure unfolded.

Rather than receiving an immediate explanation from prison officials, witnesses eventually saw the curtain open.

Pike’s attorneys later provided more details about what had happened behind the scenes.

Attorney Randy Spivey said medical personnel spent approximately an hour attempting to establish IV access, using at least seven needles in Pike’s arm. One needle reportedly came out bent.

Pike ultimately survived the two doses of pentobarbital administered during the failed execution.

Witnesses also reported hearing Pike breathing and snoring after the drugs had been administered. They were eventually escorted from the execution area without knowing exactly what would happen next.

On Thursday, Pike’s legal team confirmed that she was alive and receiving what they described as “life-saving care.” Her current prognosis remains unclear.

Tennessee governor Bill Lee has since suspended executions in the state for the remainder of the year and ordered an independent review of what went wrong.

Johannah Duggar married David Swanson in a small, private ceremony on September 10.

If she had not filed for a marriage license mere days earlier, it’s possible that we still would not know about it.

She’s reportedly planning a larger ceremony for October 10 … which isn’t unprecedented, but it seems a little odd for the Duggars.

“Once again one of the kids from the home of many kids got knocked up so they had to move up a wedding day,” a blind item circulating on TikTok alleged.

“The parents don’t even care any longer,” the blind item continued. “They just want them all out of the house.”

Some of the Duggar clan’s infamous rules were exaggerated or made stricter for the show.

(Jim Bob wanted to portray a sanitized version of the cult lifestyle, but he also wanted more consistency with the frumpy dresses that women and girls had to wear than other members of the cult necessarily enforced.)

Others are more serious, forming a key element of the extreme fundamentalist family’s lifestyle.

They are not allowed to have sex. They are not allowed to have sex ed. None of them learn anything about consent, because that is a foreign concept.

In fact, until marriage, “courtships” are supervised — and only allow side-hugs. It’s a sad existence, bereft of human contact or dignity.

Even some of the most critical Duggar-watchers aren’t buying it

If Johannah Duggar was pregnant for her wedding, then she violated cult rules — and Jim Bob is trying to hide it.

But not everyone believes that. We don’t just mean Duggar-defenders, either.

This rumor crops up over almost every Duggar marriage, it seems. Memorably, with Joy-Anna.

Yes, Duggars would be more likely to accidentally become pregnant if they had the chance to have normal teenage experiences, such as kissing or sex.

But they don’t really get those kinds of chances. A lot of folks are calling BS on this blind item.

Why are these stories so appealing?

Well, the extreme ideology of the Duggars spits in the face of human dignity.

It is normal, if not universal, for people to be sexual beings with desires and interests.

In the Duggar world, children learn that this is somehow “evil” or “corrupt,” even though that is not true.

Stories like this give people hope that the Duggar kids are able to find moments of privacy to, however briefly, exist and make their own choices like real teens should.

Maybe Johannah did. If so, she’ll give birth early next year and the family will be super vague about the timeline. But it’s more likely that she’s just another barely-past-being-a-child-bride that Jim Bob and Michelle have churned out. She won’t be the last.

Ex-husband Olivier Martinez accuses Halle Berry of physically attacking and choking their 12-year-old son.

The alleged late September incident began with verbal abuse before it became a physical assault.

Berry’s ex-husband says that it was not an isolated incident — but it was the last straw.

The filing appears to insinuate that alcohol abuse may have played a role in the alleged domestic violence.

Disturbing allegations have come out against Halle Berry

Olivier Martinez has filed a temporary restraining order against Halle Berry.

In the documents, Page Six reports, he accuses her of physically abusing Maceo, their 12-year-old son.

On September 26, Berry allegedly jumped on their son, placing her hands around his neck and choking him.

This alleged physical assault took place following verbal abuse, during which the actress allegedly told the tween that he looked “stupid” and was “such an idiot” for playing a VR game.

“The situation escalated and Petitioner jumped on our son and started physically fighting with him,” Martinez accused in the filing.

“She grabbed Maceo by the neck and started choking him,” Martinez described.

He alleged Berry of doing this “while shouting, ‘Who is dominant now?! Who is dominant?!’”

According to the filing, Van Hunt, Berry’s fiance, was present during the attack.

Maceo reportedly called Martinez to pick him up after the attack.

The documents note that he does not want to return to his mother’s home for obvious reasons.

This was allegedly not an isolated incident

In the document, Olivier Martinez alleged that Halle Berry has physically attacked their son on other occasions, meaning that the September 26 assault was not an isolated incident.

“Throughout the last year and a half,” the filing alleged, “Ms. Berry had wrestled Maceo to the ground and forced him to ‘tap out.’”

Martinez wrote that he has “significant concerns” about his ex-wife’s mental health “as well as her alcohol abuse.”

The document expresses his belief that this has “contributed to her abusive conduct” towards their son.

Martinez is requesting sole custody of Maceo. He is also seeking restraining orders to protect both him and his son.

Speaking through her attorney, Berry denied Martinez’s allegations.

Her lawyer referred to the filing as “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.”

At this time, there are no reports of Martinez pressing criminal charges against Berry. Though the legal system does little to nothing to protect children from their parents, some would at least try. Others might try to avoid putting the victim through that experience, if they can help it.

Olivier and Berry were married for only two years before their 2015 split, but their contentious divorce lasted for eight long years.

Our thoughts are entirely with Maceo, who presumably is either the victim of monstrous abuse or is being used as a pawn in some sort of custody game. Either way, he’s clearly an innocent party who deserves protection.

We’ll give this to Jenelle Evans: when she decides to trash-talk someone, she really goes all in.

Earlier this year, Jenelle got back together with David Eason, her former husband and the father of her youngest child.

Predictably, things didn’t work out, and David and Jenelle broke up yet again.

Now, it seems that David has met someone new — and Jenelle is very much not a fan.

David posted a photo of himself and his new partner, a woman named Madi, and this apparently sent Jenelle into a rage.

In a series of social media posts, she quoted an unidentified source who had some interesting things to say about Madi

“’She’s a sweet but broken girl…she got caught up in human trafficking stuff on back page when she was younger and she built on a “career” from that. She goes and strips in Dallas about 3x a year and then comes home for a few. Interesting,” Jenelle wrote (via The Ashley’s Reality Roundup), adding:

“Pick and choose your partners wisely everyone, Ive heard so much about this girl and the funny part is I don’t even ask lmfao.”

But the slander didn’t end there, as Jenelle went on to offer up more quotes from her “source.”

Jenelle later shared an Instagram post in which she revealed that she had decided to request child support from two of her baby daddies: Nathan Griffith and David.

“My daughter is 9 and my son is 12, and I finally filed child support after not asking for help and not receiving help voluntarily on their end,” Jenelle captioned a photo of herself placing two envelopes in a mailbox adding: “It takes a village but it’s me, myself, and I. Hopefully they can keep up.”

“Sometimes as a mom you need to ask for at least the BARE minimum,” she captioned the post.

Jenelle’s demand for financial compensation is fair. But as many of her followers pointed out, it seems to be motivated by a desire for revenge on David.

“Bet he’s gonna regret posting that picture,” one person wrote, with another adding, “Guess you saw that [pic] he posted. Typical.”

The move didn’t stop David and Madi’s PDAs, however.

Later that same day, she posted a photo of the two of them kissing, which he then shared to his Instagram Story.

So it looks like Jenelle and David are back to hurling public jabs at each other.

It would be amusing, were it not for the fact that Jenelle’s kids are now old enough to understand what’s going on.

Ken Urker, partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and father of her child, has died.

The two met many years ago, and had been together for two-and-a-half years.

Rose Blanchard is mourning him as a wonderful partner and father to their child.

Though the investigation into the 34-year-old’s death has just begun, she’s sharing the suspected cause of death.

What was Ken Urker’s cause of death?

October 1, 2026, was Ken Urker’s 34th birthday.

Tragically, it was also the day that he died.

He and Gypsy Rose Blanchard had been in a relationship since April of 2024, welcoming their daughter, Aurora, that December.

(The two had actually engaged in a long-distance relationship, including a 2018 proposal, when she was unjustly imprisoned over Dee Dee Blanchard’s death. However, they broke up, and she ended up marrying Ryan Anderson after her release from prison.)

Urker was found dead inside his Louisiana home on Thursday.

Hours after Urker’s tragic death, Ms. Rose Blanchard spoke to TMZ about his passing.

She expressed a belief that he overdosed.

The reason, she says, is that there was an unidentified substance where he died.

Unfortunately, Rose Blanchard does not know what that substance might be.

She says that she did not remember seeing Urker abuse any substances or use any drugs.

He will ‘forever’ be her ‘soulmate’

In her mind, Ken Urker was a responsible individual.

She remembers him as being very intentional about his role as a father and as a partner.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating his passing.

As news broke on Thursday, Rose Blanchard praised Urker as an “amazing father.”

She affirmed that he would “forever be my soulmate and my red string.”

Rose Blanchard mentioned that, through their relationship, Urker had endured years of intense public scrutiny and also cyberbullying.

She believes that this may have had a deep impact upon him — perhaps more than anyone realized.

That does not mean that Urker deliberately took his own life. He is the father of a toddler and no one has come forward to suggest that there was evidence of suicidal ideation. Not yet, anyway.

However, it is conceivable that someone under unexpected public scrutiny might abuse a substance as a coping mechanism. Or someone might overindulge on their birthday.

It is very early — too early to really know anything beyond the clear shock and heartbreak stemming from this tragic death.
