Over the last two years, Brett Landin made the most of the time she had with friends and family. Now that she’s drifted off to pursue a career in country music, she is sharing her gratitude for those she misses most with her brand new nostalgic single “Same Coast.”
Out today (Friday, Oct. 24) and co-written in just under an hour alongside her good friend and producer, Johnny Hanson, “Same Coast” is inspired by the people closest to Landin’s heart. The track pays tribute to the college buddies that shaped her — the ones with whom she’s laughed, caught a buzz with, tailgated with, and driven around in the car with, with the windows rolled down.
Speaking of car rides, the emerging female country-Americana artist and University of Southern California graduate says inspiration for “Same Coast” came through the speakers of her car in the form of a text.
“The inspiration came directly from a text that I got from one of my best guy friends in college,” Landin laughs, remembering the moment Apple CarPlay unexpectedly read the message aloud from one of her group chats. “He said, ‘I really miss doing life with you all. Like, the homecomings and the game days. I’m overall happier than I’ve ever been, but I wish we were all doing life together.’”

For Landin, that simple text sparked something immediate. On her way to Hanson’s house to record vocals for another track, the New York-based artist found herself humming a melody.
“It was one of those out-of-body experiences,” she recalls. “We were gonna put down vocals for another song, and I ran through Johnny’s studio door and said, ‘Scratch those plans, we need to write this now.’ Forty-five minutes later, ‘Same Coast’ was born.”
“I love every bit of it,” Landin says of the sun-washed, breezy anthem that captures both the longing and love woven into friendships that are never outgrown, even when life takes you in different directions. “It rings true for me in the season of life that I’m in right now, but it’s also really special that it came straight from the horse’s mouth in a sense that it’s a song about my friends.”
“They’ve seen the sound bites on social media, but they haven’t heard it front to back,” she notes of her friend group, who are aware of the song’s existence. “They know that there’s a song coming out. I think they both feel like they’re having their Taylor Swift moment.”
“Same Coast” paves the way for a second track that Landin promises to deliver before the end of the year, as well as an EP to follow in 2026. The song follows Landin’s debut EP, Who Knew, which landed on major Spotify playlists such as Fresh Finds Country.
Though Landin longs to see her friends on the West Coast, she will be keeping busy on the East Coast through much of the holiday season. Along with singing and songwriting, the talented artist is working towards her master’s degree in occupational therapy. She is currently completing her clinical rotation in the ICU, where she will spend most of her time during the Christmas season.
“I will be spending the holidays in New York City,” she shares. “People who are in the ICU still need care and extra TLC, especially during the holiday season, so I’ll be working holidays in NYC and come New Year, I’ll go home and see family.”
Oh her busy lifestyle, she admits, “I don’t know how I do it. But I have the best support system — my family, my friends, and my boyfriend. I think being a student and a musician at the same time has made me a better person, songwriter, and performer. It keeps me grounded.”

Friendships that support and ground Landin will be the lyrical backbone of her upcoming five-track EP, which is slated to arrive in 2026.
“In this season of life that I’ve been in these past two years, I feel like it was my friends and family that were anchoring me down and holding me up and allowing me to grow,” Landin says. “So this EP is dedicated to them. There are homages to all of those people that I think always don’t get the airtime with the heartbreak that the boys get. So I wanted to pay tribute to them and to the season of life that I’m in.”
Before then, fans can look for her next track to debut in December, one that offers a different tone in contrast to “Same Coast.”
“I think that this song is the uptempo, we’re starting football season, it’s very much reminiscing on how summer is wrapping up and heading into fall. The song coming in December is about my brother, and it’s one of the most grounded and authentic songs that I’ve ever written….” she teases. “If ‘Same Coast’ is about friends who share your memories, this one is about siblings who share your story.”
“I could not be more proud of all the songs that are going to be on this project,” Landin continues. “I think that it truly is a really special collection of songs that tell a story that I’m hoping will touch people on a deep and personal level.”
For Landin, 2026 promises to be a turning point.
“I’ll be done with my program and ready to lean into music full-time,” she says. “I want to grow my team, bring on a manager, and hopefully open for another artist on tour. I’ve given 100% to music—but next year, I’m giving another 100%.”
“Same Coast” makes its radio debut today on both WSM in Nashville and New York’s Country 94.7, with Landin joining WSM for a live interview ahead of her performance at the Opry Plaza tomorrow at 5:15 p.m.
Fans can keep up with Brett Landin on Instagram. “Same Coast” is available to stream everywhere, including Apple Music and Spotify.

Billy Currington’s new album, King of the World, feels like a full-circle moment. It offers a mix of nostalgia, heart, and an easygoing groove that’s always been part of his sound. At the same time, however, the 10 tracks represent the growth that the country hitmaker has experienced throughout the last two decades of his career in country music.
The album’s creation itself was a bit unexpected. Speaking with Country Now, Currington explained that one day in Nashville, he reconnected with producer Carson Chamberlain for the first time in nearly 10 years. They got to catching up about their lives and any future plans and eventually came to the conclusion that they needed to work together again.

Needless to say, it was their reunion that sparked the idea to get back into the studio together. They got started small, first just with a few tracks and slowly, more and more began to pile on, signaling to them that they were on their way to building a full-length project.
“That’s how it really got started and we just love the process of being back together so much and we decided, yeah, let’s finish this thing. So we made the whole album. It took us three years to find time to get together and all that, but here we are three years later putting it out,” Currington explained.
Their approach was to scan through the hundreds of tunes Currington has stacked up over the years, many of which lean into the traditional country sound. And while it wasn’t easy, he was able to narrow down a no-skip collection of 10 tracks that simply felt right.
The title track, “King of The World,” turned out to be one of the songs that stemmed from that bottomless catolog. He revealed it was pitched to him about 10 years ago by the sole writer, Troy Jones. Currington always knew that he would record that song, but that opportunity didn’t come until he joined forces once again with Chamberlain.
“I don’t know, just felt like ‘King of the World’ was perfect for our new project that we were working on…it’s got the groove, it’s got the tempo, it’s got the sentiment of the whole song, the story. I always felt positive every time I would ever listen to it. I’m glad we laid it down. I thought it turned out very well.”
The product of his work with Chamberlain is a project that spans a mix of songs that Currington co-wrote alongside legendary songwriters and handpicked outside cuts that all reflect his mission of staying true to his coastal roots and evoking nostalgia for his listeners. Some of his hitmaking co-writers include Dean Dillon and Scotty Emerick with additional contributions from Corey Crowder, Johnny Clawson, Ben Hayslip, and others.
“That’s the word I think of, nostolgia. When you hear the song ‘Old School,’ it takes me back to those days and ‘Burnin’ The Midnight Gasoline,’ back to the days of heartbreak, just driving around not knowing what to do, where to go and how to fix this. And I don’t know, it was just, one song led to the next,” he admitted.
The first two singles born from the album were “One Thing I Ain’t Been” and the title track “King of the World.” These tunes gave fans just a small preview of the remaining summertime anthems and soon-to-be hits that appear on the project, such as “Run For My Whiskey,” “Burnin’ The Midnight Gasoline,” and “Bourbon Sunset.”
Produced by Carson Chamberlain, this 10-track project serves as Currington’s seventh studio album after dropping Intuition in 2021. These new songs join Billy Currington’s impressive catalog, which already includes 12 No. 1 singles and two Platinum albums.
With so much success already behind him, King of the World finds Currington returning to where it all started.
“I feel like ‘King of the World’ is a way to just, it ended up back to my roots in some way where I kind of first started working with the same producer, same engineer that I did on the first five albums that I ever got to make from Mercury Records,” he said reflecting on his catolog. “I don’t know, it just feels nostalgic in some way, just back in time and loving every minute of it. It feels like we’ve never even got off track in any way.”
After a summer on the road, Billy Currington has officially wrapped up his year of touring and doesn’t plan to return to stages until next spring. When that time comes, he will finally get the chance to showcase some of the new songs into his live shows.

Vincent Mason is taking his music on the road in 2026 as the next headliner for the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Presents: Vincent Mason — There I Go. The rising country star joins an impressive list of past Outbreak artists like Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown, and Cole Swindell.
Named after his debut album dropping November 7, the tour kicks off in January in Kansas City and is poised to bring Mason’s electric live show to fans across the country. He will make stops in Dallas, Nashville, New York City, and Boston, where he will end the run in May.

After a whirlwind year of new music and growing momentum, Mason admitted he’s ready to bring it all to fans in person next year.
“I can’t wait to get back on the road and headline the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour now that we can play songs off the debut album,” he shares.“Playing shows after putting out new music has always been one of my favorite parts of what I do, and I can’t think of a better way to start the year.”
Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale this Wednesday, October 29th, at 10am Local at www.vincentmasonmusic.com
Along with the tour news, Vincent Mason is also sharing some other exciting new music. Today, he unveiled his next release, “Little Miss,” marking the final song to arrive before his debut album drops. He admitted this vibrant track has been one of his favorites from the upcoming project.
Co-written with Chase McDaniel, Ryan Beaver, and Jared Keim, the song evokes a flirty, summer-night kinda feeling as he sings all about a girl who turns heads without even trying and makes you feel an instant connection. The verses paint a vivid picture of her confidence while the chorus leans into a mix of attraction and danger, knowing she’s the kind who could “put the hurt on” in the best (and worst) kind of way.
Mason sings, “Little miss never hurt nobody/ Walking round like everything’s alright/ Little miss never hurt nobody/ Sure could put the hurt on me tonight.”
Both announcements follow the 24-year-old Georgia native’s television debut that took place earlier this week on The Kelly Clarkson Show. There, he delivered a powerful performance of his fan-favorite track “Hell Is A Dance Floor” and caught up with the show’s host to discuss his debut album and his busy year of touring.

Alexandra Kay has always been known to put the most authentic songs in front of fans and she’s doing that once again while highlighting themes of strength, grace and a whole lot of heart on her sophomore album, Second Wind, out today (October 24).
Following her acclaimed independent debut All I’ve Ever Known, which hit #1 on iTunes (All Genre & Country) and landed in the Top 10 on multiple Billboard charts, Second Wind carries forward the same emotional depth her fans fell in love with, while offering a brighter, more hopeful tone.

Within her new collection Kay dives into the plethora of changes she’s endured in her life and career since her first project. She’s gone through a divorce, fallen in love all over again and achieved a major milestone by signing with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. This 14-track project documents the rising star’s journey of finding her “second wind” and rediscovering herself in the process.
“That title, when I think about it, I think about my fans. I think about my label, BMG, I think about all of these things that have happened to me this year that have given me another chance to live my dream every moment,” she explained to Country Now. “And I say this on stage every single night, every moment that I felt like I was done, I can’t handle another let down, I can’t handle another setback, I’m getting too old for this, whatever the thought might’ve been, the fans literally did not allow it. They were like, ‘okay, well, we’re just going to blow up this video,’ or ‘we’re just going to sell you out of merch,’ or ‘we’re just going to sell you out of all of your albums.’ I mean, they just didn’t allow it any chance that I thought about quitting. They were like, no, and they just took me to another level.”
Along with giving credit to fans and the label for her rejuvenation, the title mostly prominently a message of gratitude for getting to do something she never thought she’d be capable of doing again – learning to trust someone with her heart.

Just as she had lost all hope from her difficult divorce, Kay met Rocko Beall, who now acts as her music director, her number one supporter and the inspiration behind several songs on this project. She credits him as being the one who came into her life when she thought: “I would never love again, I would never trust anybody again, I would never put my heart out there to get hurt like that again.”
“Honestly, what’s really crazy is I’ve been saying this every night on stage, I’m just so happy that we ended up choosing ‘Second Wind’ as the title track for so many reasons. Because one, obviously my relationship with Rocko very much I inspired the song ‘Second Wind,’ but when I started to think about ‘Second Wind’ as a title for this album, so many things came to mind because not only is Rocco the person that put the wind back in my sails…naturally meeting him and realizing that true love is not supposed to feel the way I always have felt it, and that was really what we wrote ‘Second Wind’ about.”
Featuring fan-favorite tracks, “Straight For The Heart,” “What He Does,” “Feminine Energy,” “The Last,” “Cupid’s A Cowgirl,” and more, the heart-stirring collection combines elements of heartbreak, healing, and hope among 14 songs, reminding listeners that sometimes, starting over is exactly where you’re meant to be.

Alexandra Kay’s voice, equal parts delicate and powerful, makes every lyric feel like it was pulled straight from a page of her diary. This is especially true for her single “Straight For The Heart,” set to impact country radio next month.
The Illinois native revealed that this song is getting extra special attention right now because not only is set to impact airwaves or the loudest song in her live shows at the moment, but it’s also going to be the name of a signature drink at her very own coffee shop, The Coffee Girl.
Penned by Karley Scott Collins, Jimmy Robbins and Sasha Alex Sloan, the anthemic track finds Kay pleading for honesty from the other person in her life. She asks that if they are going to end things and throw away their love, that they do it quick rather than drag it out in an effort to avoid any further pain.
The songstress admitted she was eager to cut this song as getting pitched outside songs is now one of the many perks that comes with being signed with a label.
“I really, really wanted to get outside pitches for so many years. I love songs, and I’m very aware that I am not the best songwriter in the world, and I want the best songs in the world. And so I was very, very excited to get outside pitches. So when they sat me down and I got my first pitch meeting and I listened to ‘Straight For The Heart,’ I said, ‘Oh my God, do not show this to anyone else or else. This is my song.’ she recalled. “And I’ve been in love with it ever since.”
Overall, the process of making Second Wind was nothing short of exciting for Alexandra Kay. She is clearly proud of this evolution, be able to embrace new sounds and share fresh perspectives on her life journey.
“What’s very exciting for me is I think that people are going to be listening to the record and they’re going to hear songs like ‘Right Now,’ which is another song I haven’t teased, but they’re going to hear songs like that and be like, ‘what are we listening to? Is this an AK record or is this a Morgan Wallen song?’ So seriously, I’m so excited to just see people’s reaction to the album.”
She added, “I love writing ballads, and I love being the Ballad Girl and the Emo Girl. But this was just a very, very fun twist, and I think that I grew as a songwriter and making this project, which is always the goal.”
Kay is currently on the road for her third headlining tour of the year. Named after her album, Second Wind: The Tour launched in September and runs through November 16. She is joined by special guests Chase McDaniel, Julia Cole and Logan Crosby on select dates.

Megan Moroney just dropped one of her most talked-about songs yet, “Beautiful Things.” After fans fell in love with the tune on her record-breaking Am I Okay? Tour this year, the track is finally out and set to appear on her upcoming, yet-to-be-announced third studio album.
The songstress first introduced the heartfelt ballad during a surprise appearance with Ed Sheeran at Nashville’s Bluebird Café back in March. But the excitement around the song really took off months later during her first-ever headlining stadium show at Credit One Stadium in Charleston, SC where fans captured the performance and the story behind it. This clip quickly gained momentum online, leading it to become both a staple in her live shows and a highly-anticipated release.

That night in Charleston, Moroney told the crowd that she wrote “Beautiful Things” for her niece. She explained that, knowing what she went through in her early years, she wanted to write a story that would protect the young girl from the inevitable challenges she’d face later in life.
“When she was born, I remember just looking at her and being like, ‘She’s so perfect, and I just never want anything sad to happen to her,’” Moroney told the crowd in mid-September.

Produced by Kristian Bush and co-written by Moroney, Connie Harrington, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Jessi Alexander, “Beautiful Things” offers a deeply empathetic and comforting message. The Georgia native begins by painting a vivid picture of a young woman standing alone in her bathroom, feeling left out and questioning her worth, while everyone else seems to be moving on without her.
“You’re standing at your bathroom mirror/ Crying “what did I do?” tears/ Your friends are out and you’re right here/ There’s a party, you didn’t know/ You just found out from your phone/ Did they not want you to go?/ Oh oh oh, yeah, you feel that twisting knife/ Oh, I know it ain’t right,” sings Moroney.
As the song unfolds, it shifts from heartbreak to a message of hope and healing. Through gentle metaphors, she reminds listeners how the world can be cruel to “Beautiful Things” Moroney then reflects back to her own moments of doubt and offers reassurance that there’s actually nothing wrong with the girl looking at herself in the mirror.
“You’re pretty and you’re smart/ God made a work of art/ Girl, don’t pick yourself apart/ And quit wondering why he did it/ Nothing ‘bout you needs fixin’/ It ain’t what you are, it’s what he isn’t,” she continues in the next verse.
Megan Moroney showcased the tune once again on October 14, when she hosted a surprise pop-up at La La Land Kind Café in Nashville. Standing before a lucky group of fans, the country star performed an all-acoustic solo set that included “Beautiful things,” her 4X PLATINUM No. 1 breakout “Tennessee Orange” and her second career No. 1, “Am I Okay?”

Her newest release is set to appear on the follow-up project to her CMA Album of the Year nominated, Am I Okay?. The upcoming collection will also include her highest Billboard Hot 100 debut to date, “6 Months Later.”
Moroney recently celebrated the end of her AM I OKAY? TOUR with her first-ever live album, Am I Okay? Tour (Live), featuring 24 tracks. She is now in Australia for a series of shows that began with a sold-out performance at Brisbane’s Riverstage on October 23. Next up, she will appear at the two-stop Ridin’ Hearts Festival 2025 at Sydney Showground on Saturday, October 25, and Melbourne’s Caribbean Gardens on Sunday, October 26.
