Tony Romo Arrested For Operating Vehicle While Intoxicated: Report

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Uhhhh … I don’t know about this one, Jim!

Beloved CBS Sports analyst Tony Romo was arrested Thursday night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI).

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback was stopped while driving southbound on Interstate 43, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday (via TMZ).

Officials reported that Romo performed poorly on field sobriety tests before being taken into custody. He was later booked and released.

Wisconsin uses the term “operating while intoxicated” rather than DUI.

Romo, who is famously gifted at reading NFL defenses and predicting how opposing offenses will react, apparently did not see this one coming.

For a first offense, OWI is generally treated as a civil violation rather than a criminal offense, though penalties can still include fines and other sanctions if a driver is found responsible.

According to multiple reports, Romo had been in Wisconsin to compete in the Wisconsin State Amateur golf tournament, an event he has participated in over the years.

The traffic stop occurred not far from Burlington, Wisconsin, where the NFL great grew up.

CBS, where Romo has served as the network’s lead NFL game analyst since retiring from football, has not publicly commented on the arrest.

Romo spent his entire NFL career with the Cowboys after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2003.

He became the Cowboys’ starting quarterback in 2006 and earned four Pro Bowl selections before retiring following the 2016 season.

Although Dak Prescott recently surpassed him as the franchise’s all-time passing yards leader, Romo still holds the Cowboys’ record for career touchdown passes with 248.

He transitioned directly into broadcasting in 2017, quickly becoming one of the NFL’s highest-profile television analysts.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details about the traffic stop have not yet been released.

Authorities have not announced whether any additional citations or charges are expected beyond the alleged first-offense OWI.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

Gretchen Whitmer endorses Haley Stevens for Michigan Senate seat

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer endorsed Rep. Haley Stevens in her state’s contentious Democratic Senate primary on Friday, wading into one of the highest-profile ideological battles within the Democratic Party.

“As governor, I have one strategy: Get things done. And that strategy informs everything that I do, and that’s why I’m endorsing Haley Stevens for the U.S. Senate,” Whitmer said in a video posted to Stevens’ account.

Stevens is hosting a meet-and-greet alongside the governor and Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) in Detroit Friday afternoon.

Stevens and former public health official Abdul El-Sayed are the two major Democratic candidates competing in the Aug. 4 primary to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters.

El-Sayed’s candidacy has galvanized progressives, while Stevens has backing from more mainstream Democrats and the tacit support of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have Gov @GretchenWhitmer’s endorsement for U.S. Senate,” Stevens said in a post on social media. “She is a champion for our state, she understands the stakes of this race and why it’s so important we elect the strongest Dem in this primary, and she gets stuff done for Michigan. Let’s go win!”

The race has gained national attention as Democrats aim to keep the seat blue and Republicans vie to flip the seat.

Whoever wins the Democratic nomination will face GOP candidate and former Rep. Mike Rogers, who has been endorsed by President Donald Trump, in November.

Stevens and El-Sayed represent the party’s ideological split, with Stevens representing the more moderate lane of the party and El-Sayed the progressive wing. That’s also evident in who endorsed them. Stevens received an additional endorsement from outgoing Sen. Gary Peters and El-Sayed has been endorsed by more progressive lawmakers such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).

In Warren’s endorsement video, she praised El-Sayed’s vow to not take corporate money while taking a jab at Stevens, who has benefitted from a slew of outside donations — including nearly $30 million from the AIPAC-aligned United Democracy Project.

R&B Singer-Songwriter Genia Returns With New Single ‘Can’t Wait’

Genia Can't Wait

R&B singer-songwriter Genia has returned with a new single, “Can’t Wait,” out now via Def Jam Recordings. An accompanying music video features Genia jamming to the track on the streets of Seoul alongside producer Dee Gomes.

“I can’t wait another moment / So just tell me how you want it / Ain’t no stopping, keep it going / I’ve been dreaming of tonight,” she sings on the first verse. Genia shared an Instagram post featuring the groovy new track with the quote “They said R&B is dead… I am reviving her.” The singer has been on a musical journey with the release of the singles “Miss Your Touch,” “Baby Ima Star,” “Downfall,” “Doomsday,” and “Toastyyy” feat. Def Jam describes the 24-year-old artist as “Fiery yet thoughtful with her pen,” embracing her vulnerabilities in her music. “I feel like I make music for everybody,” she shares. “But mainly for women to feel badass. That was kind of my thing: to make bad bitch music, but also vulnerable music, almost like somebody’s reading my diary.”

Genia hails from Victorville, CA. She first discovered her love for music when her grandmother exposed her to Prince’s Purple Rain, and was later inspired by Beyoncé and Rihanna. She was balancing shifts at Walmart when her cover of Deborah Cox’s “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here,” went viral on TikTok in November 2020. She has since released two EPs, 2024’s 4am In The Ville and 2023’s 4pm In The Ville, as well as numerous singles.

She has described her sound as a ‘melting pot’ of influences, and doesn’t want to feel tied to one genre. “I finally feel like I’ve found my voice in music,” she told Celeb Secrets. “I used to feel boxed in, but now I know exactly what I want to do — and I’m doing it.”

Morgan Wallen Kicks Off New Chapter With First Solo Release Of 2026, ‘Been By Now’

Morgan Wallen is kicking off a new chapter with the release of “Been By Now,” marking his first solo track to arrive this year. The Tennessee native gave fans an early taste of the emotional track during his sold-out performance at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore before officially sharing the full song with listeners today (July 24).

Written by Wallen alongside Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass, Rocky Block and Taylor Phillips, “Been By Now” was produced by Joy Moi and explores the complicated reality of watching a relationship slowly slip away.

Rather than telling the story of a dramatic breakup, the song focuses on the quieter moments that often come before it, when a couple knows their connection is on the rocks. They start to experience the growing distance, the unanswered questions and the feeling of realizing something that once felt effortless has become harder than it should be.

Throughout the track, Wallen reflects on the fact that the amount of effort it takes to make things work has started to outweigh the happiness it previously evoked. The two people at the center of the narrator clearly still care about each other, but they’ve now started to question whether love is enough.

“If it was meant to be, we’d have been by now/ We wouldn’t have to keep tryna work things out/ Yeah, baby, we’re a breeze when the lights go down/ It wouldn’t be so hard when we ain’t in the dark/ If we were in the stars, they’d have lined right up/ Yeah, maybe from the start, we’ve been tryin’ too much/ I know you wanna think that it’s what we found/ But if it was meant to be, we’d have been by now/ Been by now,” Wallen sings with his signature rasp on full display amid the catchy melody and bittersweet undertones.

The new song arrives as Morgan Wallen’s latest album, I’m the Problem, continues to dominate the charts. It debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in May 2025 and spent 13 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the list. Ever since, it has held its place in the Top 10.

As fans gain excitement over what this next chapter will hold for Wallen, he is also preparing to wrap up his 23-stadium show Still The Problem Tour. The massive trek has just two weekends and four shows left across Ann Arbor, MI and Philadelphia, PA.

Remaining Still The Problem Tour dates:
