Wiz Khalifa & Mac Miller’s Former Label Lands $150M Financing Deal

Rostrum Pacific secured a $150 million financing deal from New York-based Crayhill Capital Management to fuel its catalog-acquisition ambitions.

The parent company of indie powerhouse Rostrum Records announced the partnership Thursday, marking a major expansion of its strategy to become “the preeminent independent music company.”

The financing comes from Crayhill Capital Management, a private credit specialist managing $2.9 billion in assets. Rostrum Pacific CEO Benjy Grinberg plans to use the funds to pursue catalog opportunities “of any scale” and integrate them into the company’s established ecosystem.

Rostrum Records built its reputation by discovering and developing breakthrough Hip-Hop talent in Pittsburgh. Grinberg founded the label in 2003 and quickly established it as a launching pad for future superstars.

The label signed Mac Miller in 2010 when he was just 18 years old, helping transform the young Pittsburgh rapper into a chart-topping artist whose debut album Blue Slide Park became the first independently distributed album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 since 1995.

Wiz Khalifa became another Rostrum success story after joining the label in 2007. His breakthrough single “Black and Yellow” became a Pittsburgh anthem and launched him to mainstream stardom. Both artists helped establish Rostrum’s reputation for identifying raw talent and developing it into commercial success.

The label expanded beyond its Pittsburgh roots over the years, eventually consolidating multiple businesses under the Rostrum Pacific umbrella in 2023. The company now operates Rostrum Records, Fat Beats, Cantora Records and digital distribution platform SpaceHeater.

SpaceHeater launched last year as an AI-powered music distribution and analytics platform. The technology offers “unmatched transparency and accuracy” for tracking how artists’ music gets used to train AI models and determining fair compensation for AI-generated outputs.

“Securing this funding reflects confidence in our value-creation strategy – one that leverages strategic partnerships and collaborative frameworks to drive high-value returns,” said Scott Margolin, Rostrum’s Chief Financial Officer, who led negotiations with Crayhill.

“With this backing, we’re expanding our reach and deepening our commitment to ensure that music under our care gets heard,” Margolin added. “We’re focused on catalog we can actively grow – whether it’s assets we acquire or the catalog we’ve been building for more than 20 years.”

Jihane Hassad, Director of TMT Investment Group at Crayhill, praised Rostrum’s “compelling in-house model that drives value creation and strategic growth.” Crayhill has invested over $500 million across its Technology, Media & Telecom strategy, including investments in music, film and TV libraries.

The deal positions Rostrum Pacific to compete in the increasingly competitive music catalog acquisition market. Major labels and investment firms have poured billions into acquiring music rights as streaming revenues continue growing globally.

Rostrum’s catalog, previously distributed by ADA, is now available exclusively through SpaceHeater. The December 11 announcement signals the company’s aggressive push to expand its music portfolio and establish itself as a major independent player in the evolving music industry landscape.

Funkmaster Flex Did Something Nobody Expected After Ebro’s Exit

This whole situation at Hot 97 is starting to feel like a full-blown soap opera, and quite frankly, the fatigue is real. Still, let’s walk through the latest chapter in what has become a never-ending radio station saga.

Initially, confirmed reports indicated that Funkmaster Flex would step in to take over mornings following the abrupt end of Ebro in the Morning. At the time, there was no clear timetable, but the assumption was that Flex would be holding the slot down for more than a single broadcast.

That assumption turned out to be premature.

Flex jumped online to clarify the situation himself, explaining that his time in the morning chair was only for one day. While that could always change, Flex was clear in his messaging, and for now, his word is the final word. According to him, this was simply a temporary assist following the sudden and unceremonious dismissal of Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez, Peter Rosenberg, and their team.

To be honest, the idea of Funkmaster Flex on morning radio had some people intrigued. The thought of Flex yelling at New Yorkers before breakfast, diving into politics he usually avoids, or breaking down daily events in his own unfiltered way felt like radio chaos in the making. Naturally, reactions to his brief appearance were mixed.

Then came the unexpected twist.

Instead of leaning into controversy or piling on, Flex took a moment to publicly show respect. He praised Ebro, Laura Stylez, Rosenberg, and the entire morning crew for their contributions. Most notably, he gave Ebro a special acknowledgment, reminding listeners that Ebro had once been his boss. That moment of grace caught many off guard.

Anyone expecting mockery, shade, or celebratory laughter missed the mark. What they got instead was uncharacteristic professionalism, perspective and a reminder that Hip-Hop radio, at its best, still knows how to honor its own.

View this post on Instagram

Hot 97 has long been an epicenter of Hip-Hop radio culture, shaping careers, Summer Jams and influencing national conversations for decades. From the days of Flex’s bomb drops in the late 90s to the rise of Ebro in the Morning in 2012, the station has constantly evolved while remaining a cultural tastemaker.

Ebro’s tenure marked a shift toward blending Hip-Hop with politics, social justice, and accountability, while Flex represents the raw, street-rooted DNA of the format. This current transition reflects a larger moment in radio where legacy, audience expectations, and corporate decision-making are colliding in real time. Whether this is a brief disruption or a major reset, Hot 97’s next move will say a lot about where Hip-Hop radio is headed.

As always, jump into the comments and share your thoughts. This conversation is far from over.

Wisconsin woman leaves Dunkin’ coffee in car overnight. Then she takes a look inside the cup

A Wisconsin woman leaves a Dunkin’ coffee in her car overnight. She is revolted by what she sees inside the cup the next morning.

TikTok creator Kailey (@oh_kayxo) reached for the Dunkin’ coffee she’d left in her car overnight, she expected to find a stale, cold beverage. Instead, she made a viral clip in which she found something far more disturbing and disgusting: A dead baby mouse floating in the cup.

In the brief clip, which has 1.7 million views, she says: “Oh my God, there’s a dead mouse in my coffee from yesterday.” The overlay reads, “Here’s your sign to clean your car and don’t leave any food or drinks in it.”

Viewers React to Mouse Found in Dunkin’ Coffee Left in Car

While some reactions locked in on Kailey’s car’s cleanliness, her viral discovery highlights a lesser-known winter hazard that affects drivers across cold-weather states: Mice finding their way into vehicles in search of warmth.

After one comment with a hilarious reaction photo, the TikToker replied, “I KNOWWWW, but I read they can fit through DIME-SIZED holes and my car was in the garage overnight.”

Another person said, “This is the second video I’ve seen with a dead mouse in coffee.”

One woman posted a picture of the exact same situation occurring to her. Kailey replied, “OMGGG. Apparently, it’s happened to a lot of people, but everyone’s here calling me nasty and stuff.”

She added a follow-up photo of her “vibing while TikTok bullies call me dirty.”

Why Mice Sneak Into Vehicles at Night

Mice getting into vehicles is a recurring problem that has little to do with personal hygiene and everything to do with seasonal rodent behavior. As temperatures drop in the Midwest and northern regions, mice can squeeze their tiny bodies through dime-sized openings in cars parked both outdoors and in garages, creating unexpected and unsanitary encounters that catch even careful drivers off guard.

One commenter even noted, “It’s easy for a mouse to get in your car. The car dealership told me they like the smell of the fluids and will chew through the wires.”

The keys to keeping mice out of your car are to first keep your garage, like the one she has, well-sealed. Obviously, keeping trash and food, like her old coffee, out of the vehicle is also a significant step. Keep your car away from bird feeders and trash cans, as well.

But there are some other rather unique tips, including scent-based deterrents. Mice hate strong smells. So, using things like high-powered peppermint oil, cayenne pepper, cloves, and cinnamon in sprays and on cotton balls will help keep mice away. One person even recommends Irish Spring soap, dryer sheets, and ammonia or vinegar.

Honda even sells an “Anti-Rodent Engine Wiring Harness Tape,” which you can find on Amazon. YouTube is full of videos with info to help keep mice out of your car.

Cardi B Infuriates MAGA After Threatening To Leave The U.S. For Good

Cardi B triggered a massive MAGA backlash from Donald Trump supporters after declaring she might permanently leave America following Vice President JD Vance’s public endorsement of her rival Nicki Minaj.

The Bronx rapper’s comments during an Instagram Live session from Saudi Arabia sent shockwaves through conservative social media circles.

Cardi made her stunning announcement while performing at the Soundstorm Festival in Riyadh, directly responding to Vance’s tweet, “Nicki > Cardi,” which supported her longtime nemesis.

“I’m starting not to like America,” Cardi B said during her live stream. “America makes me pay taxes. The Vice President is talking s### about me on Twitter. I don’t feel real appreciated in America. Y’all need to convince me to come back.”

MAGA supporters immediately flooded social media with harsh responses to her threat.

“Well, let me tell you, Cardi B is free to make her own choices, but if she doesn’t want to come back to the USA, that’s her loss! We’re focused on keeping America great and supporting our leaders like Vice President JD Vance. MAGA AmericaFirst,” one Trump supporter posted.

Other MAGA followers were even more direct.

“No body cares if cardi b ever came back to America,” another wrote. A third added, “So renounce your US citizenship and stay out there.”

Cardi’s latest clash with MAGA represents just the newest chapter in her ongoing political battles with Trump supporters.

She previously faced conservative backlash after endorsing Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election and has repeatedly criticized Trump’s policies on immigration and social issues.

The rapper has been particularly vocal about Trump’s immigration stance, recently slamming “poor people” who voted for the former president despite policies that could hurt millions of families.

Cardi’s political activism has made her a frequent target of conservative criticism throughout both Trump administrations.

During her Saudi Arabia broadcast, Cardi praised the kingdom’s strict legal system while taking shots at American politics.

“I’m in Saudi Arabia and, so far, let me tell you about my experience. It’s very strict. They will put you under the jail,” she explained. “They ain’t playing around. You will go to prison. Mess around and you’ll find out. However, it’s very easy to follow the rules here.”

The rapper particularly enjoyed the tax-free shopping experience.

“The people over here is hip, honey,” Cardi said about her Saudi experience. “They are very polite. They don’t look at you like you’re poor. I like everything duty-free, tax-free, discount-free.”

JD Vance’s unprecedented involvement in Hip-Hop beef marked the first time America’s second-highest elected official has publicly taken sides in rap rivalries.

His endorsement followed Nicki Minaj’s “Vance > Rants” post on social media, signaling her growing support for the Trump administration.

The political divide between the two rap queens has become increasingly apparent as Nicki Minaj embraces MAGA talking points.

Just this week, Nicki Minaj launched a blistering attack on California Governor Gavin Newsom over his support for transgender children, claiming it marked “the end of the road” for his political career.

Nicki Minaj’s anti-trans rant targeted Newsom’s policies protecting LGBTQ+ youth, with the rapper joining Elon Musk in criticizing the governor’s stance.

Her comments sparked immediate backlash from LGBTQ+ advocates who accused her of promoting harmful rhetoric against vulnerable children.

Nicki Minaj has increasingly aligned herself with MAGA influencers. She even headlined a Trump-backed conference aiming to stop violence against Christians in Nigeria.

While Cardi considers relocating to Saudi Arabia, Nicki Minaj continues building bridges with Trump’s inner circle through her social media endorsements.

OKC BLM Boss Charged With Wire Fraud Over $3.15M Bail Fund Embezzlement Scheme

Tashella Dickerson has been charged with embezzling $3.15 million from Black Lives Matter OKC donations meant for bail funds and using the money for luxury vacations and real estate purchases.

The 52-year-old executive director faces 25 federal charges after a grand jury indictment was unsealed on December 11.

Prosecutors say she deposited returned bail checks into her personal accounts rather than into the organization’s accounts between June 2020 and October 2025.

Dickerson spent the stolen funds on trips to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. She also bought six properties in Oklahoma City, a personal vehicle and dropped $50,000 on food deliveries for herself and her children.

The scheme targeted funds raised after George Floyd was murdered by Derek Chauvin in 2020.

BLM OKC collected over $5.6 million from online donors and national bail funds, including the Community Justice Exchange, Massachusetts Bail Fund and Minnesota Freedom Fund.

Those organizations sent grants specifically to help post bail for protesters arrested during racial justice demonstrations. When bail money was returned to BLM OKC, the national groups sometimes allowed the local chapter to keep portions to build a revolving bail fund.

But Dickerson allegedly had other plans. She’s accused of funneling at least $3.15 million into her personal accounts and going on shopping sprees that cost tens of thousands of dollars.

The FBI and IRS investigated the case after discovering Dickerson submitted false annual reports to the Alliance for Global Justice. AFGJ served as BLM OKC’s fiscal sponsor since the local chapter wasn’t a registered tax-exempt organization.

Dickerson told AFGJ that she used only funds for tax-exempt purposes. She didn’t mention the luxury trips, property purchases or personal expenses.

This case adds to the growing scrutiny of Black Lives Matter’s financial practices nationwide. Other BLM leaders have faced similar fraud charges in recent years for misusing donations meant for social justice work.

Dickerson faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each wire fraud count and 10 years for each money laundering charge. The maximum fines reach $250,000 per count.

McDonald’s worker speaks out about customers who order the Grinch meal: ‘Fighting for my life’

A McDonald’s worker jokingly calls out the company for putting together such a successful marketing campaign for its new Grinch Meal that it’s impacting her work-life balance.

TikTok creator Janell (@honeyy_jay) posted a video with her concerns on Dec. 4. Since then, it has amassed more than 1.2 million views.

“Let me tell y’all something,” she says while clearly operating the drive-thru window. “Y’all dropped these [expletive] Grinch meal, got me at work fighting for my life right now. I am fighting for my life right now because y’all dropped these meals.”

What Is McDonald’s New Grinch Meal?

McDonald’s is celebrating this holiday season with a Dr. Seuss-inspired Grinch Meal. The meal, which debuted on Dec. 2, features either a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets accompanied by dill pickle-flavored “Grinch Salt” fries and a medium soft drink. That would be compelling enough, but consumers also get a pair of Grinch-inspired socks in four different colors.

McDonald’s uses these promotional meal deals to connect with younger and more pop culture minded demographics. Other partnerships include rapper Travis Scott, WNBA player Angel Reese, and South Korean boy band BTS.

Except it’s not just kids going crazy for the Grinch Meal and its socks-and-dill salt comb. According to Business Insider, this strategy is leading to the Grinch Meals—and their coveted socks—being sold out in stores across the country. That’s because adults are dying to get their hands on the socks, too.

Viewers React to McDonald’s Worker’s Grinch Mentality

In the comments section, viewers teased Janell by saying she should spend more time stocking socks and dill fries and less complaining.

“I’m hungry for a Grinch Meal,” quipped one viewer.

“Man, just put the socks in the box,” said a second person.

“AND MY SOCKS AND SALT BETTA BE IN THE BAG,” said a third hungry customer.

However, other McDonald’s workers said Janell is completely right to be upset. “I’m crying at home because it was so busy and I have to go back tomorrow,” said one worker. Janell replied, “Me too, and I’m the floor manager again tomorrow.”

A second worker said, “Today a grown woman broke down sobbing because we took too long on her three Grinch meals.”

Someone else remarked, “They are McLovin those socks.”

Others merely commented on the quality of the offering. “It’s the dill salt,” wrote one person. “It’s fire.”

All Hip Hop contacted Janell via TikTok comment and direct message for comment.

EXCLUSIVE: Damon Dash Film Empire Set Heading For Auction As Two States Chase Millions

Damon Dash is set to watch his film catalog hit the auction block in New York City on December 30, 2025, as two states scramble to collect millions from his $25 million bankruptcy case.

A federal judge authorized the United States Marshals Service to sell copyrights tied to Poppington LLC, Dash’s media company, including titles like Honor Up, Too Honorable and Welcome to Blackrock.

The court-approved auction follows years of litigation and mounting debts, including a $4 million defamation judgment awarded to filmmaker Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures.

The films, including Honor Up, which is executive-produced by Kanye West and features Dash, Cam’ron, and Stacy Dash, are now part of a public sale ordered by Magistrate Judge Robert Lehrburger.

The minimum bid is $300,000, but the final price could increase depending on interest.

Damon Dash filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in September, listing $25,073,520.58 in liabilities and just $4,350 in assets, according to court records reviewed by AllHipHop_._

His debts include $19 million in unpaid taxes, nearly $400,000 in back child and spousal support, and multiple civil judgments dating back more than a decade.

The bankruptcy filing was intended to pause collection efforts, but the court ruled that assets already seized by the Marshals were not protected from sale, allowing the auction to proceed.

Now, both New York and New Jersey have stepped in to claim what they can. The New Jersey Division of Taxation filed a secured claim for $3,996,830.62, backed by a statutory lien on all of Dash’s property and earning 10.75 percent interest.

Meanwhile, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance filed a competing claim for $8,668,450.51 in unpaid income taxes. Both agencies submitted their claims before the auction, positioning themselves to collect first from any proceeds.

Creditors like Webber also have the option to “credit bid” their judgments, meaning they can claim the film rights in exchange for the debt Damon Dash already owes them, potentially leaving little for other creditors.

This isn’t Dash’s first court-ordered liquidation. In November 2024, he lost his one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records after failing to pay an $823,000 civil judgment to Webber over the film Dear Frank.

That auction, held in Manhattan, drew a $1 million winning bid from an anonymous representative of the State of New York, which used the purchase to help recover part of the $8.7 million in back taxes Dash owed.

Bobby Shmurda In Minneapolis Gets Physical… Or Did It?

Well… here we go again.

The internet is buzzing after footage surfaced of Bobby Shmurda’s recent appearance in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where what was supposed to be a regular club night reportedly spiraled into something much more uncomfortable. Now before anybody gets emotional, this is a rumor report, stitched together from circulating video clips, eyewitness chatter, and loud internet commentary—not a police blotter.

According to multiple videos floating around social media, Bobby was doing what Bobby does: dancing, joking, ordering food, and just enjoying himself before things allegedly took a sharp turn. In the clips, you can see Bobby surrounded by a mix of clubgoers, security…and “people” who looked like they were sizing him up.

That’s where the conflicting narratives start.

Some viewers claim Bobby was suddenly rushed or jumped by several individuals near or on the stage. Others insist it was a brief scuffle that got blown out of proportion. One detail that keeps popping up in the chatter is Bobby appearing to knock something out of another man’s hand or off his waist. Nobody knows what it was.

Another big talking point? Security.

A loud section of the internet feels venue security failed miserably. They accused them of pulling Bobby away while allegedly allowing others to continue swinging at the rapper. Critics argue that if you’re “breaking it up,” you break it up on both sides. Supporters say security was overwhelmed and did what they could in the moment.

What’s interesting is that despite all the talk of Bobby being “jumped,” he never appears to hit the ground in the footage online. So, was this really a beatdown? Looks like a lil dust up magnified by the internet.

Some people online say Minneapolis “took an L”, accusing local dudes of clout-chasing or trying to put a New York rapper his place in their city. Others defended the city and said that was not fair. The “motives” get even worse.

Rumors range from jealousy, to female attention, to basic set. up. Again—no proof, just internet talk.

The biggest takeaway is this situation could’ve gone left way worse, and it didn’t. Thankfully. There were no reports of serious injuries. Bobby was not arrested. Bobby did the “look at my unblemished face” that rappers are known to do so much these days.

We’ll see if Bobby truly addresses it.

sYou already know how this goes.

👀
Put it in the comments.
