Gabby Barrett On Juggling Life as a Touring Artist, Wife, and Mom of Three: ‘I Am Honestly Living The Dream’

Gabby Barrett is opening up about what life currently looks like at home with her husband Cade Foehner and their three children and sharing how she’s learned to navigate marriage, motherhood, and a demanding career all at once.

Since tying the knot in 2019, the couple has continued to grow both personally and professionally while finding ways to stay connected. A big part of that has been working side by side, with Foehner serving as Barrett’s lead guitar player during her live shows while still carving out space for each of their own artistry.

Now, as parents, they’ve taken that same approach on the road. She explained all five of them travel together as a family so they never have to choose between a career and their home life.

“I think of it as a whole, in regards to my music and my family and my beliefs and things like that, and what am I called to and am I being faithful in that regard, that’s how I kind of measure success in what I’m doing,” Barrett shared with Kaitlyn Bristowe on an episode Off The Vine.

“My kids come with me to all of our tour dates on the road. They’re on the tour bus in their bunks. I’m so blessed. I am honestly living the dream,” she gushed.

The Pennsylvania native admits that even though they have established this routine that works for them, she still experiences plenty of hard moments. But at the end of the day, no amount of fame or success is more important to Barrett than being present with her children.

“I definitely keep them first. I keep priority of them first and foremost, and I want to be a very present mother for them,” she admitted honestly. “That’s very important to me, for them to say when they get older, ‘Mom was here even though she had all this going on, and it’s very admirable.’ But I get to live both and it’s very, very cool.”

Barrett was just 18 years old when she and Cade Foehner wrapped their time on American Idol, a moment that quickly pushed both of their lives into the spotlight. Since then, their relationship has drawn its fair share of outside opinions and assumptions from the public. Still, Barrett says she’s learned to tune out the noise, choosing instead to focus on what truly matters to them and what life really looks like behind the camera.

“I don’t really pay attention to people’s perception on marriage very much. I just don’t spend much time on it because I know who I am as a person. I also know who he is as a person, and what’s important to us is what we’re doing and committing to behind cameras,” she explained. “I think that’s a solid way to keep things together and not so separated because when things get out and spread too much, it can get a little sticky. So yeah, he’s a good guy and I’m really, really thankful for him.”

From her nerve-wracking Idol performances to stages across the country and major award show appearances, the “Glory Days” singer praises Cade for always being her biggest supporter.

“A lot of those high-pressure moments in the beginning where the songs ‘I Hope’ and ‘The Good Ones’ and all of that, and I was on award shows and different things like that. It was really nice to be able to look over and see him there because this is all so new back in front of the cameras, all the live moments, and so he’s been a rock for me through it,” she explained.

Toward the end of the interview, Gabby Barrett hinted that more music is set to drop in coming months, and eventually a new album. She has already started to share a look into this next musical chapter through songs like “Ain’t Supposed To Be” and “The Easy Part.”

Megyn Kelly Says She Doesn’t ‘Feel Bad’ For Alex Pretti, Believes ICU …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The tide of public opinion has turned against ICE and DHS operations in Minneapolis, and the Trump administration is in the process of removing some of its most prominent officials from the city and quietly “reassigning” them.

After stubbornly standing his ground for weeks, Trump now appears to be backing away from his administration’s previous claim that slain ICU nurse Alex Pretti was a “domestic terrorist.”

That’s good news for fans of common sense.

But it’s bad news for the various MAGA pundits who thought they were doing the White House’s bidding by blindly supporting the shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Megyn Kelly apparently didn’t get the memo before she hosted her Sirius XM show on Monday because she continued to denigrate Pretti.

“I know I’m supposed to feel sorry for Alex Pretti, but I don’t. I don’t,” Kelly proudly told her audience.

“Do you know why I wasn’t shot by Border Patrol this weekend? Because I kept my a-s inside and out of their operations.”

Kelly spent years as a proud Second Amendment-supporting, “don’t tread on me” conservative, so her declaration that US citizens should stay inside to avoid being executed by federal agents came as a shock to many.

And not surprisingly, Megyn is now receiving backlash from quite a few high-profile critics.

“Defending raping 14 year olds as not pedophilia and attacking killed ICU nurses who served veterans – been quite a few month run here,” former Biden aide Neera Tanden posted on X (formerly Twitter), according to The Daily Beast.

“You chose to be cruel instead of compassionate; to be evil in spirit instead of empathetic; to ignore what God asks us to do— ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’” echoed former RNC chairman Michael Steele, adding:

“Matthew 22:39. Perhaps Megyn you don’t feel anything for Alex because you don’t feel anything for yourself.”

“You can tell these people aren’t actually religious because if they were they’d actually be worried about going to hell,” Meidas Touch co-founder Brett Meiselas chimed in.

“If someone said they don’t feel sorry for Charlie Kirk she would lose it but if it’s an ICU nurse who did nothing wrong then it’s OK, according to Megyn. Nice!” pundit Harry Sisson added.

Elsewhere in her broadcast, Kelly echoed Vice President JD Vance’s claim that Pretti was part of the “engineered chaos” in Minneapolis.

“He was there with a loaded gun looking to cause trouble for the Border Patrol agents, and that trouble came back on him,” she said.

“I’m so sick of this bull—t. These are organized agitators who train to disrupt and in some cases hurt law enforcement.”

There has been no evidence that Pretti was looking to cause trouble, or that he was part of any organized network, but those are claims that Kelly and others have been repeating for weeks.

It will be interesting to see how her rhetoric evolves if the Trump administration continues its gradual withdrawal from Minnesota.

Marcello Hernández & Sabrina Carpenter: Dating?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Fans have been asking:

Who is Saturday Night Live hottie Marcello Hernández dating?

It wouldn’t happen to be Sabrina Carpenter, would it?

Marcello is gushing about his romance. Take a look!

Are they dating?

On the Monday, January 26 episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the host had a lot of questions about Marcello Hernández’s love life.

Not just questions, actually.

Opinions.

Dax had his own ideas about who Marcello should date if he isn’t already.

Are the SNL star and Sabrina Carpenter an item?

Marcello explained that he and Sabrina are just “pals” and not a romantic item.

And no, this isn’t just someone playing coy about a budding entanglement.

“I’m in a relationship with a Dominican girl,” Marcello revealed.

“She’s an architect,” he detailed.

“She’s unreal,” Marcello raved. “She went to Yale.”

Who is Marcello’s girlfriend?

However, Marcello made it clear that he wasn’t dissing Sabrina in any way, shape, or form.

“Sabrina’s awesome,” he praised.

Marcello described: “She’s really funny and cool.”

He then reiterated: “She’s great.”

However, she is not his girlfriend.

Marcello’s girlfriend is Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral.

In fact, you might remember that the couple made their red carpet debut back in July of 2025.

A few months earlier, they had appeared together at the The Phoenician Scheme‘s premiere after-party in May 2025.

Ana isn’t a secret.

But because she is an architect and not, say, a world-famous singer, it’s easier for her to fly under the radar — even when she’s stepped out in public.

Why do people think that he and Sabrina Carpenter are an item?

We could follow a lengthy and convoluted chain of social media posts speculating about Marcello and Sabrina being in a relationship.

Or we could go straight to the source.

Marcello starred as the alluring Domingo in a Saturday Night Live skit that featured Ariana Grande. Later, for SNL‘s 50th anniversary, Sabrina appeared in a reprise to that skit (given that her song, “Espresso,” was central to both).

He once again assumed the mantle of Domingo. They both looked super cute together. And that, as far as we can tell, was the first spark of speculation about the two.

But people are allowed to be cute together in a skit and not be in a real-life romance. SNL skits are not reality. Even if the political ones are getting eerily close to reality.

Virginia state court blocks Democrats’ redistricting push

A Virginia state court blocked Democrats’ plans to redistrict this year, a blow to the party’s hopes of redrawing the state’s congressional lines ahead of the midterms.

Jack Hurley Jr., a judge on the Tazewell County circuit court, ruled that Democrats did not follow the right procedure to approve the proposed constitutional amendment that would allow for the last-minute redraw of the state’s lines.

Democrats are expected to appeal the decision. But the ruling is still a major loss for the party in the ongoing mid-decade redistricting fight, and one that could — if ultimately upheld — block the party from picking up as many as four seats in next year’s midterms.

Democrats in the Legislature first passed a measure to take up redistricting in October of last year, utilizing a special session left open by then-Gov. Glenn Youngkin. Lawmakers took up the issue again in January, finalizing the plan to put the issue before voters ahead of the midterms.

But Hurley said using the still-open special session was not allowed because early voting in last year’s elections had already begun, and state law requires the Legislature to pass proposed constitutional amendments both before and after an election. Hurley also ruled that the proposed constitutional amendment was not properly noticed in state courts.

The judge also noted that lawmakers in the special session passed a procedural resolution along party lines, with the Democrat-controlled legislature delivering the decisive votes for the resolution’s passage. Because lawmakers did not vote unanimously, as is required under the Legislature’s own rules, and did not pass it by a two-thirds Senate majority, it was a violation of the rules governing a special session.

“Certinaly, both houses of the Commonwealth’s legislature are required to follow their own rules and resolutions,” Hurley wrote.

The Republican plaintiffs in the suit issued a statement praising the court’s ruling, calling it a “decisive victory for the rule of law” but also noting this legal challenge was not about partisanship, rather the process the majority used in attempting to rewrite Virginia’s Constitution.

“The court confirmed that Democrat legislative leaders unlawfully expanded a Special Session, violated their own rules, and attempted to force through a redistricting constitutional amendment while Virginians were already voting,” said Del. Terry Kilgore, the top Republican in the Virginia House, state Sen. Minority Leader Ryan McDougle and former Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said in a joint statement Tuesday.

Virginia had been seen as the crown jewel in Democrats’ redistricting fight, especially as state Republicans in GOP-led Florida eye midcycle redistricting later this year. Currently in Virginia, Democrats control six congressional seats and Republicans hold five. Virginia Democrats, had been forging ahead with their plans to unveil a proposed map by their self-imposed deadline of Jan. 31, with the goal of holding a special election to approve the maps in spring.

Democrats strongly criticized Hurley’s ruling.

“This is a clear attempt to confuse voters and block them from having a say,” said Karen Charles Dongo, who is heading Virginians for Fair Elections, the Democrat-affiliated group that launched this month to urge the state’s voters to pass a pending ballot measure. “We’re prepared for what comes next, and Virginians deserve both the right to vote and the chance to level the playing field.”

Spokespeople for the top Democrats in the Virginia legislature, state Sen. Majority Leader Scott Surovell and state House Speaker Don Scott, did not respond to requests for comment on whether the ruling will impact the release of their proposed maps.

But in a joint statement along with other top Virginia Democrats on Tuesday, the group struck a defiant tone and promised to continue with plans to redraw maps, suggesting the ruling was but a minor blip in their quest to deliver what could be a 10-1 map that favors their party.

“Nothing that happened today will dissuade us from continuing to move forward and put this matter directly to the voters,” the Democratic lawmakers said. “We will be appealing this ruling immediately and we expect to prevail.”

Julie Merz, who heads up the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, suggested the court overreached.

“This rogue decision is a disappointing, but temporary setback issued by a lower court that will be immediately appealed — where we’re confident it will be overturned,” Merz said in a statement. “The order issued today has no constitutional basis, but is instead a desperate attempt to keep electoral power out of the hands of Virginia voters.”
