Kane Brown is recovering after getting struck in the head by a golf ball in the afternoon of Tuesday, June 23 that led to a “slight concussion” and 23 stitches.
The superstar first took to Instagram stories to share a gruesome photo of a bloody ear with the caption, “Shot to the head by a golf ball.” In his next video he revealed he had to go to the hospital to get checked out and was told his symptoms would likely get worse over the next 48 hours.

He was in relatively good spirits despite the circumstances and was just feeling grateful that the blow to the head did not end up with a worse result.
“I’m alive and that’s all that matters,” he wrote.
Once he was back home from the hospital, Brown shared a more detailed story time to give fans a full update on what went down that day.
“So I got hit in the ear with a golf ball and a lot of people, they think that the ball came over multiple fairways. No, this one, it was my own buddy. I ain’t going to name any names. He feels terrible, but he needs to know that I’m good,” he began.

The “Woman” singer went on to say that the doctor confirmed he had a “split ear and some swelling” but if the ball had just missed his ear and hit the right spot on his head, he could have died from the impact.
“It was about 150 to 180 mile an hour ball, a three-wood slice…We already hit our drives. I’m in the rough. He’s in the fairway…It went just enough time for me to do this,” he said as he motioned covering from the ball. “I mean, I guess technically the best possible place it could have hit me. I’m just glad I’m here.”
Kane Brown was originally scheduled to perform at Nashville’s The Pinnacle later that night as part of the Tight Ends & Friends concert hosted by Tight End University, but ended up pulling out to take care of his health. Two of the evening’s hosts shared the unfortunate news with the crowd before moving on with the star-studded lineup.

He was also set to fly out to Wisconsin this morning to perform at Hoofbeat Country Fest tomorrow, June 25. While Brown still plans to perform, he has opted to take a bus instead of a plane to avoid the pressure of the flight messing with his injured ear.
“I’m probably going to have to do some wedges. I won’t be able to put my in-ears,” he explained. “But yeah, y’all see the blood. It’s no joke. I’m good though.”
Following his appearance in Wisconsin, Kane Brown is currently set to head to Calgary, Canada on June 27 for Country Thunder Alberta.

For decades, Kenny Chesney’s music has served as the soundtrack countless summer memories, from beach days and road trips to nights spent with friends. Now, he’s ready to add another collection of feel-good songs to the mix with the announcement of his new album, Silver Sands Marina, arriving Sept. 25 via HEY NOW Records, and the title track out today.
The Buddy Cannon/Kenny Chesney-produced project will mark the country superstar’s 21st album to date and is expected to feature songs centered around making lasting memories, embracing life’s highs, letting go of anything that holds you back and living life to the fullest.

Throughout the project, Chesney also tapped into themes of personal reflection and empowerment with help from acclaimed songwriters and guest artists, including Tony Lane, Matraca Berg, Shane McAnally and Brett James, emerging powerhouses Jessie Jo Dillon, Tenille Townes and Adam Wright and guests Colbie Caillat, Lily Meola and Megan Moroney.
“I love everything about music, but especially how it makes you feel,” Chesney explains. “It can crack open a tough moment, lift you up, blow you up and make you laugh harder than anything. When I started thinking about all the things music can be, a few songs came in – and Silver Springs Marina, as it now exists, took shape. Some great players, guests who really fit the songs, but especially some places I’ve never gone.”
Fans got to hear the first preview of the album with “Carry On,” HEY NOW’s debut single that became the first independent single and only the third in history to lock out the country radio reporting panel in its first week.

Alongside today’s announcement, the eight-time Entertainer of the Year and 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee also unveiled the project’s title track. “Silver Sands Marina” tells the story of a chance encounter that turns into something much deeper. Through vivid imagery and a laid-back melody, Chesney paints a picture of two people creating a memory that neither of them will ever forget.
“It is such a well-written song,” Chesney notes. “You can smell the fall in the air, the lake and that solitude. Everyone’s so busy rushing, you miss most of the small details – and everything that happens around them. But in ‘Silver Sands Marina,’ not only do the details hold the song in place, they remind you that the magic happens in the simplest, realest places: you just have to be open to letting it happen.”
The mid-tempo sound sets the tone for the project while serving as a reminder to slow down, appreciate the little things, and embrace the fact that some of the best moments in life are the ones that aren’t planned.
“These kinds of moments you couldn’t make happen, that’s the magic,” he continues. “And the two people in the song, who fall into the experience so completely, they know it’s perfect as it’s happening, that this sort of thing doesn’t come along very often. But even more, they’re smart enough to let it be what it is.”
“When the guitars come in, along with the voices, you can sense the way the connection has built, even though it’s only for those 24 hours,” Chesney offers. “When the arrangement falls away, how much that moment got inside becomes concrete. This wasn’t hooking up; it wasn’t two strangers not looking back. These are people who connected on a soul level – and no matter how much time passes, this moment will always be vivid and alive.
He goes on to note that this story felt like the perfect way to sum up the entire collection of songs arriving in a few short months.
“That’s the great thing about songs: they hold life like nothing else. As I was listening to the songs on this record, I realized ‘Silver Sands Marina’ defines the album. Beyond the story of these two people, this small, lakeside motel that’s existed for generations, it shows the reality that the things that matter actually exist beyond time or place; they’re timeless and always.”
Kenny Chesney has shared plans to return to TalkShopLive on July 15 to future discuss the making of Silver Sands Marina, his intentions with these songs and the power of music. Fans can tune in HERE.
Additionally, he recently kicked off his second residency at Sphere in Las Vegas and will continue to deliver his immersive concert experience through July 11.
