‘We’d Have Been Good Teammates’: Zlatan Ibrahimović And Tom Brady Bond Over Drives To Win

Zlatan Ibrahimović and Tom Brady are two of the most decorated athletes in the world. Ibrahimović has won league titles around the world with some of the biggest clubs, while Brady has seven Super Bowls and countless NFL records to his name. Another thing they both have in common: They’re never satisfied because of an insatiable drive to win. Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ibrahimović sat down with Brady to talk about the differences in their sports and their desire to be the best. Brady summed up their attitudes well at one point: “We’d have been good teammates.” Ibrahimović won league titles in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France (12 in total), and he also won multiple trophies in his only full season with Manchester United. He scored more than 550 goals for his clubs and the Swedish national team throughout his career. “You’re never satisfied, that was my thing,” Ibrahimović said. “When I did good, the next day I forgot about what I did yesterday because I always wanted more and I think that’s mental also.” How much did the Swedish legend want to win? Brady brought up how locked in he was, especially when there was more to a matchup than just the game. “If you create the anger with the enemy, which in the sport is the opposing team, you’re the most focused,” Brady said. “You’re locked in completely. If you’re playing your brother in something, you want to beat him, but you don’t want to beat him that bad. It’s your brother, you love him, you care for him.” Ibrahimović disagreed. “I would smash him on the field,” he said. “Yeah, I would smash it. I don’t care. There’s only one winner, me or him. Then outside, hug.” Ibrahimović played 122 times for the Swedish national team and scored 62 goals, making him the country’s all-time leading goalscorer. He explained to Brady how his “must-win” mentality did not always mesh well with the national team. “Sweden, we used to do a lot of team building, different things and not football. Like outside the pitch we would do together, I don’t know, do some different events, different exercise mental and like the, how do you say the group thing, the team spirit and that. So just to gather everybody together. And Sweden, as a culture, is pretty soft. It’s nice. “I was the only one that was different compared to them because I had a different approach. I was demanding things and in Sweden, [it’s] like, ‘Let’s see what happens.’ No, no. That’s not my approach.” How intense did things get at times? During his club career, Ibrahimović said, “I had players that were crying.” Brady can definitely relate to Ibrahimović’s attitude. He noted that the teammates who were willing to put the extra time in and showed an ability to bounce back from adversity were the ones he gravitated toward. “I value the teammates that went through the hard things because I go, ‘Man, I would do anything for that guy,’ because I saw what he’s all about,” Brady said. “I saw when he had a game and everyone booed him and he went home and he got the next day by the coach and then he came out to practice the two days later with the best attitude, wanting to be better, stayed after practice, worked on the things that he wasn’t good at in the game. The next morning before anyone got there was working on the things that he wasn’t good at, then went to practice, showed improvements, stayed after practice, did more, stayed at the facility, watched more film. Then, the next Sunday, came out and he performed his best.”Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Megan Moroney Performs ‘Wonder’ at Best Friend Natalie King’s Turks and Caicos Wedding in Full-Circle Moment

Megan Moroney ‘s friendship with Natalie King came full circle over the weekend when the country music songstress performed “Wonder” at King’s oceanfront wedding to Alex Harp in Turks and Caicos. This song marks a milestone not only in Moroney’s career but also in their friendship, that began freshman year at the University of Georgia (UGA) after rushing the Kappa Delta sorority together.

Penned by solely by Moroney, “Wonder” traces all the way back to their college days. As she explains to all the guests during the destination wedding reception, she was inspired to write the slow-tempo tune at a time when King was going through a toxic relationship. Being the good friend that she is, Moroney promised her sorority sister that one day she will find the man she deserves, one who won’t have her staying up by the phone at 3am waiting for his call or drowning in “what-ifs and maybes.”

The song went on to become the Georgia native’s debut single in 2021.

Reflecting on the heartbreak that once inspired the song, it felt fitting for Moroney to bring it full circle at King’s wedding, where she stood by her side as maid of honor, celebrating the love that Moroney always believed would come for her best friend.

“I’ve played this song a lot but I think that this might be the most meaningful time that I play it,” Moroney admitted, while speaking to the intimate gathering of family and friends. “For those of you that don’t know, the first song I ever released was a song written for Natalie. She was trying to date some loser. In the song I’m telling Natalie, ‘if you just hold out, you’re going to find someone that is going to show up early and you’re never going to have to wonder how he feels about you.’ And I definitely think that with Alex, you found that,” she said to King.

The video pans to King and her new husband, showing emotions spreading across her face as Moroney delivers the heartfelt lyrics.

“Don’t be sad, it’s happy. We’re celebrating,” she noted.

Clyburn’s seat survives for now as South Carolina Republicans buck Trump on redistricting

South Carolina Republicans defied President Donald Trump and blocked a redistricting measure that would have drawn out the state’s lone Democrat, Rep. Jim Clyburn.

The move Tuesday all but kills their chances of flipping that seat for 2026. It’s possible the GOP will still draw out Clyburn before 2028.

A procedural vote to end debate on the map early failed in the state Senate 24-20, with 12 Republicans joining all Democrats. The state Senate then voted to adjourn until June 10, effectively ending any hope of redistricting before the midterms.

It’s a massive pivot from just two weeks ago, when GOP Gov. Henry McMaster chose to call a special season to redraw after pressure from Trump and the White House. Now, Republican lawmakers who defected in South Carolina could face the same fate in 2028 as Indiana lawmakers who rebuked Trump — and then lost their primaries to MAGA-aligned challengers.

But because of the timing of the elections — the timing they refused to change — the South Carolina Republicans will likely be safe until the 2028 primaries, as early voting has already begun for this year.

In a statement after the measure failed, state Sen. Larry Grooms placed the blame at McMaster’s feet for declining to call a special session until it was too late.

“Republicans and the White House worked quickly to pass a redistricting plan before the start of in-person voting,” he said, “but the call from the governor came too late.” (McMaster called the special session almost immediately after the legislature’s regular session ended).

The rebuke from fellow Republicans came as a shock to Trump’s political operation, according to one person close to the White House granted anonymity to discuss the internal dynamics. McMaster never gave the White House a heads up that the vote was on track to fail, the person said.

McMaster’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The state’s Senate GOP leader, Shane Massey, had long opposed a redraw, giving a fiery speech during a procedural vote earlier this month that received national attention. Despite earlier votes in the Senate looking on pace for a redraw, a number of Republicans flipped on Tuesday, citing the start of early voting as reason for doing so.

Even without the extra seat from South Carolina, Republicans have an overall edge in the redistricting war. But many of those wins came from the courts.

The Supreme Court’s decision earlier this year to narrow the Voting Rights Act has led to swift redraws across other Southern states, and the Virginia Supreme Court erased a four-seat Democratic gerrymander that was approved by voters.

There are still some states outstanding before November. Alabama Republicans are trying to use a 2023 map that eliminates a Democratic-held seat, but it’s jammed up in court. And Louisiana Republicans are still working to pass a map before the midterms.

Land named for colorful character ‘Herring Pete’ added to Alaska’s Kachemak Bay State Park

A century ago, a Norwegian-born mariner nicknamed “Herring Pete” and his Austrian-born wife operated a fox farm on a scenic, remote and mountainous Kenai Peninsula island.

Now that 24-acre island parcel is part of 400,000-acre Kachemak Bay State Park.

The Conservation Fund, a private nonprofit that protects vulnerable lands and habitat, has purchased the site on Nuka Island known as Herring Pete’s Cove and donated it to the state.

Nuka Island, which comprises about 15,300 acres, is adjacent to Nuka Passage, a well-traveled, safe and sheltered route used by boaters sailing between Seward and Homer. The region is a destination in itself for wildlife watchers. It has salmon, seabird colonies, marine mammals and land mammals.

“It is a wild and fascinating, beautiful place,” said Chris Little, Alaska field representative at The Conservation Fund.  It is rich with fish and wildlife, and “the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.”

With the purchase of Herring Pete’s Cove, all of Nuka Island is now folded into Kachemak Bay State Park. The Conservation Fund’s 2023 acquisition of a site called Mike’s Bay added 22.5 acres.

“Now the entire island is public, which is really cool,” Little said.

The Conservation Fund previously added acreage elsewhere to the park to ensure public access to a site called Saddle Trail. That purchase, comprising 5 acres, was completed in 2022, and the parcel was officially added to the park in early 2023.

Aside from its natural beauty, the Nuka Island site has historic significance.

Herring Pete Sather and wife Josephine, known as “Mrs. Herring Pete,” were icons in that part of the Kenai Peninsula.

“Because the couple was involved in so many activities, many consider them the pre-eminent historical figures associated with Kenai Fjords National Park,” according to a National Park Service historical account. Pete was considered eccentric but friendly and skilled, and Josephine was considered an adventurous and capable outdoorswoman. Her son from her first marriage, Frank Angerman, served in the Alaska territorial legislature.

Herring Pete was born Peder Pederson. He became known as “Herring Pete” to distinguish him from all the other Norwegian mariners named Peterson or something similar, according to a book by author Doug Capra about the region’s history called “The Spaces Between: Stories from the Kenai Mountains to the Kenai Fjords.”

Herring Pete was not the original operator of the Nuka Island fox farm. That distinction belonged to Josephine and her second husband, Edward Tueck. After Edward died, Josephine accepted Herring Pete’s marriage proposal to ensure that she could stay on the island and keep operating the farm, according to the National Park Service.

The acceptance was despite earlier impressions Herring Pete left on Josephine, according to Capra’s book.

“Herring Pete was the dirtiest man I’d ever seen,” she is quoted as saying in the book. “His sweater was held together by wire, so he wouldn’t take it off all winter.”

Pete died in 1961, and Josephine died in 1964. After a period when other families lived there, the University of Alaska in 1988 gained title to Herring Pete’s Cove.

The university’s sale to the Conservation Fund, at an undisclosed price, and the subsequent transfer to the Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation were made final in March. The parties decided to announce the deal this month to time it with the start of the summer tourist and recreation season.

The Conservation Fund has preserved over 400,000 acres in the state since 1994, from the Utqiagvik area in the Arctic to the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska.

Kyle Cooke & Amanda Batula: Did They FAKE Their Wedding??

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Were they never really married to begin with?

Back in January, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula announced the end of their marriage following weeks of rumors, speculation, and denials.

Infamously, Amanda ended up moving on with West Wilson. It didn’t go over well.

But were Kyle and Amanda really married in the first place? Or did they fake their wedding?

Did they ‘fake’ their 2021 wedding?

On Monday, May 25, Kyle Cooke honored Memorial Day by responding to a rumor.

Someone on Threads — of all places — asked him in a since-deleted post about whether he and Amanda had faked their wedding.

(Remember, their wedding aired on Summer House. It was the Season 6 finale!)

Many public figures would ignore such a question. Especially if it is pertaining to a former marriage.

But Kyle clearly took it personally. And he decided to respond.

“You got me,” Kyle wrote, his message dripping in sarcasm.

“The only actor with a MBA, a SBA loan, 2 businesses, and an acquired set of skills that lets me recall my scripted lines from memory when drunk, even blackout,” he joked.

“I’m a jack of all trades,” Kyle boasted sarcastically, “which is exactly why I’m capable of pulling off such trickery.”

Kyle then added: “Oh wait here’s a pic of us at Hillsborough town hall.” He was referring to a photo in which he and Amanda signed their marriage documents.

His post concluded: “Respectfully, please take off your tinfoil hat.”

In case anyone needs a quick refresher …

Kyle and Amanda married on September 25, 2021.

As Summer House viewers may recall, the ceremony took place in Amanda’s parents’ backyard in her hometown.

They had been engaged for three years, only delaying their wedding by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

By early autumn 2021, the vaccine allowed people to gather for outdoor nuptials in relative safety.

On January 19, 2026, Kyle and Amanda announced their separation in a joint statement. It was over.

It is true that reality TV personalities sometimes reenact real moments from their lives, or (rarely) fake life events, for the cameras.

The most common is rehashing a private conversation, this time for the cameras. In exceptional cases, someone might hold a separate birthday party on the wrong day, but pretend to the cameras that it is on the day of.

(For that matter, non-famous couples sometimes elope or quietly marry ahead of a larger ceremony, and don’t admit it to friends and family until later, if at all.)

However, accusing someone of having staged a fake wedding with his now-ex seems a little odd.

Many rumors might be true. But you shouldn’t expect a positive reaction if you bring them up to the rumor’s subject.
