2026 NFL Draft: The Book on Alabama QB Ty Simpson

With the 2026 NFL Draft less than a month away, Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson has entered the chat as the most polarizing prospect in the class. After Simpson’s impressive throwing exhibitions at the NFL Scouting Combine and Alabama Pro Day created a buzz in scouting circles, evaluators could not wait to dig into the tape to determine whether the consensus QB2 of the class is worthy of a first-round pick. Simpson, who passed for 3,567 yards with 28 touchdowns and five interceptions in 2025, is a mechanical marvel with flawless footwork and throwing mechanics that stand out on his tape. As the son of a college football coach with an extensive offensive background, Simpson operates like a clinician from the pocket, working through his reads at warp speed before routinely delivering darts to open receivers. The combination of his high-IQ and refined mechanics resulted in a sizzling nine-game run in 2025 — a 66.8% completion rate with 21 touchdowns and one interception during that span — that had scouts buzzing about his prospects as a QB1. Directing a pro-style offense created by former NFL offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, Simpson showcased his managerial skills and big-play potential with his surgical dismantling of four ranked opponents — Georgia, Vanderbilt, Missouri and Tennessee. That scintillating stretch piqued the interest of evaluators intent on finding a potential QB1 in the 2026 or 2027 classes. Few expected Simpson, with another year of college eligibility and only 15 starts on his résumé, to enter this year’s draft. But the flashes from his spectacular run have stirred debate between old-school evaluators and new-age scouts on the importance of traits, experience, production and projection for quarterback prospects. After studying Simpson’s 2025 season, here are my thoughts on the most polarizing player in the draft. This Upside If you were coaching a young quarterback on how to play the position and needed to show him a demonstration reel, Simpson’s highlight tape would suffice. The 6-foot-1, 211-pounder is a talented technician with footwork and mechanics that coaches rave about when teaching young players new skills. He complements his polished mechanics with a high football IQ, enabling him to quickly work through his reads until he finds an open receiver or the weak spot in coverage. Simpson’s quickness in processing and game-day urgency separate him from most young quarterbacks who are hesitant and uncertain in the pocket. He has mastered the art of playing quickly without hurrying or rushing through the process when making post-snap reads. As a result, Simpson consistently plays on time, trusting his awareness and diagnostic skills to make anticipatory throws against various coverage. He displays a keen understanding of his scheme and which routes should be available against the defensive coverage or pressure. Moreover, he maintains a big-picture focus, enabling him to play in attack mode and exploit the defense’s vulnerabilities at all times. Additionally, Simpson’s exceptional intangibles enable him to carve up coverage with surgical precision despite lacking elite arm talent. His arm strength grades out at a “plus” level, but it would not rank as a superpower on par with the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen or Joe Burrow. While it has been proven that a strong arm is not required to succeed in the NFL, Simpson must win with superior timing, anticipation and ball placement rather than throwing fastballs past defenders. Coaches intrigued by Simpson will certainly want to incorporate the rhythm throws and play-action concepts that accentuate his game. He consistently nails the strike zone on “catch, rock and throw” concepts with in-breaking routes attached to the progression, and he’s just as effective on comebacks and deep outs thrown outside the numbers. With Simpson also capable of layering throws over intermediate defenders after executing play-action fakes, offensive coordinators can open up the playbook with the Alabama product under center. In addition, Simpson’s athleticism, movement skills and effectiveness as a mobile playmaker shine on bootlegs and naked passes. He is a credible dual-threat with the potential to pick up first downs on nifty scrambles or pinpoint tosses to the boundary. The Downside Despite the impressive résumé and highlight reel Simpson has compiled as a one-year starter, there are some concerns about his ability to thrive as a pro due to his inexperience (15 career starts), size and arm talent. The recent failures of Anthony Richardson (13 college starts), Dwayne Haskins (14), and Mitchell Trubisky (13), combined with the inability of Trey Lance (17) to crack an NFL starting lineup, makes Simpson a high-risk prospect due to his limited reps. Additionally, skeptics will point to his late-season struggles, particularly against Auburn and Georgia (in the SEC Championship Game), as potential concerns about his ability to adapt to defensive adjustments. Defensive coordinators successfully copied pressure patterns and coverage tricks that disrupted his rhythm in the initial Oklahoma matchup, as evidenced by Simpson completing just 58.5% of his passes in his final five games with six touchdowns and three interceptions. With Simpson’s injuries also impacting his play, concerns over his size and durability are also major factors in his evaluation. As a slender quarterback, his late-season decline will lead to questions about his ability to withstand the pounding and wear-and-tear as a pro. [2026 NFL Draft Confidential: Unfiltered Scouting Takes On Top 5 QBs] Factor in his lack of elite arm talent, and there are plenty of red flags for evaluators to consider when breaking down Simpson. The naysayers will point to his underthrown vertical passes and his soft tosses between the numbers as potential concerns, especially since NFL defensive coordinators design game plans that force quarterbacks to make tight-window throws. If Simpson is unable to punish opponents for their aggressive tactics, the offense will face a condensed field, making it harder to operate over a 17-game season. The Verdict Simpson is the ultimate high-risk, high-reward prospect at the position. He dazzles as a pocket passer, with pristine mechanics and a high IQ that will endear him to quarterback gurus across the league. Offensive coordinators employing intricate schemes that rely on touch, timing and precision will fall in love with Simpson due to his ability to execute advanced concepts at the collegiate level. His strongest supporters within the league will see the Alabama star as a Brock Purdy-like playmaker. They’ll argue that Simpson could excel in an offense featuring a smorgasbord of creative concepts designed to exploit defensive vulnerabilities through clever scheming and misdirection, including play-action and bootleg passes. While his lack of experience will require a detailed developmental plan that might include a “redshirt” year to adapt and adjust to the pro game, Simpson’s skills could translate into him becoming a successful starter down the road. Due to the time needed for him to develop, and the risks associated with his inexperience and size, I would grade him as a second-round prospect (future starter), knowing that he faces long odds of becoming a franchise-caliber player.Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

The Red Clay Strays’ Brandon Coleman And Wife Macie Introduce Baby Girl Vivian

Brandon Laine Coleman, lead singer of The Red Clay Strays, and his wife Macie are officially introducing the newest member of their family to the world. The couple initially shared that their first child was born in early February, but today on their three-year wedding anniversary, they have revealed their baby girl’s name along with adorable family photos.

The childhood sweethearts tied the knot on April 1, 2023, and announced Macie’s pregnancy in early November 2025, just weeks before The Red Clay Strays were honored with the Vocal Group of the Year award at the Country Music Association Awards. At the time, they shared they were “elated and blessed beyond measure” and eagerly awaiting their “precious little angel from above.” Shortly after, they revealed the gender of their baby girl with another joyful announcement.

Their latest post gives fans a closer look into what this heartfelt chapter of life looks like for the couple. Macie wrote, “Brandon and I would like to formally introduce our daughter, Vivian Jane Coleman,” who they deem to be “The best thing to ever happen to us.”

She goes on to admit that she has made many attempts to try and express how much becoming a mother and watching her other half become a father has meant to her in these past two months but finds herself “at a loss.” She notes she has been overwhelmed with “love and happiness” as well as pride.

“I have never been more proud of myself. Which come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever been ~truly~ proud of myself. Until now. I haven’t stopped feeling it since she was born. Motherhood is the greatest thing to have ever happened to me and I thank God every night for it,” Macie shares.

She goes on to reflect on the moment she brought her baby girl into the world and praised Brandon for all the support he showed her during the entire process.

“Labor and delivery was the most beautiful and spiritual experience of my life. And I couldn’t have done it without my honey, B. Brandon held me through every painful contraction and when it was time, he sat down in front of me and we brought our baby into the world. His hands were the first to hold her as he delivered her and brought her to my chest.”

In the days that have followed the birth, the new mom has also gotten to witness her husband become a father, thus making her “fall in love even deeper than I thought possible.”

“The way he’s taken care of me so that I can take care of her. His eagerness to learn every little thing so he can do it himself. (There are things I don’t even know how to work because he’s done it from day one),” she adds. “He’s a natural and naturally has been wrapped from the beginning. She is so lucky to have the best daddy in the world!”

With today being their third anniversary together, the couple decided to reflect on their journey together up until this point. Macie recalls Brandon asking her, “Is this how you imagined life would be 3 years into marriage with me?” to which she responded, “No… it’s even better. You have truly made all of my dreams come true.”

The addition of their sweet daughter Vivian has felt like a “dream” for the new parents.

“She is everything I didn’t know I needed and everything I’ve ever wanted all wrapped up into one. What an honor to experience a love so pure, unconditional, and overwhelming. To be blessed with one of God’s greatest gifts… Our very own earth angel 🤍 “

Macie ended her incredibly heartfelt message with a final note to Brandon, “Happy Anniversary honey, B! Nothing could ever beat spending this day with you and the very product of our love!”

The post was paired with a carousel of pink-themed family photos inside their little one’s nursery. Macie explained that this is a rare glimpse into their daughter’s life because moving forward, they have decided not to post her face online.

Tiger Woods DUI Arrest Video Shows Golf Legend Literally On His Knees

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We have new information about the events leading up to Tiger Woods’ latest DUI arrest.

As you’ve likely heard by now, the golf legend rolled his SUV in Jupiter, Florida last week, and police took him into custody after he exhibited “signs of impairment” in the wake of the accident

Now, police have released bodycam footage from Tiger’s arrest.

The video, released by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, captures Woods on the roadside talking with officers after the rollover, his black Land Rover on its side in the road.

At one point, Woods is heard telling deputies how the crash unfolded.

“I looked down at my phone and all of a sudden, boom,” Tiger says in the footage, describing why he lost control of the vehicle.

According to law enforcement at the scene, Woods appeared visibly impaired when deputies arrived.

Officers described him as sweaty and unsteady, with “bloodshot and glassy” eyes in the moments after the crash.

Deputies also say he had difficulty completing coordination exercises during field sobriety tests,

They later revealed that two pills identified as hydrocodone — a prescription opioid pain medication — were found in his pocket and collected as evidence.

Despite these observations, Woods told officers he had neither taken illegal drugs nor consumed alcohol and instead attributed the wreck to distraction.

Woods, 50, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI involving property damage and was held for several hours before being released.

He later pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge.

In a public statement following the arrest, Woods acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and announced he would be stepping away from professional golf to focus on his health and seek treatment.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he wrote, adding that he was committed to prioritizing his well-being.

The crash, which occurred while Woods was attempting to pass a truck, caused significant damage but did not result in serious physical injury to him or another driver involved.

Woods has been preparing for upcoming legal proceedings, and a judge recently granted his request to travel abroad for treatment, citing privacy concerns .

Woods’ legal team has stated that the decision would aid in the golfer’s recovery.

For now, the newly released body-cam footage adds another layer to the ongoing case, showing the moments immediately after the crash and the explanation Woods offered to officers on the scene.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

Jen Shah Slams Ghislaine Maxwell: She Has ‘No Remorse’ for Victims!

Reading Time: 3 minutes

In 2025, Ghislaine Maxwell’s cushy new prison perks included a transfer to a low-security facility, courtesy of Trump loyalists.

But the world soon connected the dots.

The woman who procured victims for Jeffrey Epstein was now sharing a prison with the likes of Jen Shah and Elizabeth Holmes.

But the RHOSLC alum is out. What does Jen Shah have to say about her most notorious fellow inmate?

Jen Shah speaks to People Magazine after her time in prison.

She never imagined sharing a minimum security prison with a criminal like this

During her first interview since leaving prison, Jen Shah told People about life behind bars, about her crimes, and about her own sense of guilt.

(She did sound remorseful, even if she perhaps spent a little too much time explaining how she had trusted the wrong people.)

Last year, the Trump regime went to extraordinary measures to transfer disgraced criminal Ghislaine Maxwell to Camp Bryan, a minimum security prison.

That is unusual for a monster like Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence. It only makes sense when you learn that Maxwell had claimed to have no incriminating testimony regarding Trump’s participation in Epstein’s crimes.

Shah says that she and Maxwell had only “limited interactions” behind bars. And it doesn’t sound like she wanted to change that.

“I just feel like there should be a level of remorse for the victims,” Shah expressed.

“And she made it very publicly known — at least to Elizabeth and I — that there’s no remorse there,” she shared. “She outrightly said it.”

According to the fallen Bravolebrity, she recalled a specific instance when the victims were speaking on television.

Maxwell, she described, “was just in complete disregard for them.”

“And this is when they are pouring their hearts out in front of Congress for those files to be released,” Shah added. “To be so dismissive of that? That just didn’t sit with me the right way.”

What about the special privileges that Maxwell is getting?

Jen Shah recalled that “she was treated very well there.”

She detailed: “She was afforded things that nobody else was afforded, like private workout sessions, special meals, bottled water.”

All of this echoes previous reporting on Maxwell’s status after her silence earned Trump’s favor.

“Everybody witnessed it,” Shah claimed. “And I know that firsthand because I worked in [recreation] so I would have to clean things up.”

She added: “I was also asked for certain equipment because she was going to go work out late at night.”

Ghislaine Maxwell did not always have such luxurious accommodations.

That all changed after her meeting with Trump’s former personal attorney, who has since become a higher-up at the Department of Justice.

Suddenly, she was enjoying privileges that would be unheard of even for a white collar criminal — like Shah. But Maxwell is not a white collar criminal. She found victims for Epstein. She’s a monster.

It is stories like these that make us feel like America is a failed state. But it’s important that we not despair or give up, even when brazen corruption runs rampant.

We can reclaim our nation. We can punish the villains.

Her tone totally changes when discussing Elizabeth Holmes

In contrast to discussing Maxwell, Shah shared that she and Elizabeth Holmes — or “Lizzie,” as she calls her — are “good friends.”

“As another high-profile prisoner, there are just certain things you’re both dealing with, so you naturally come together in those instances,” the Bravolebrity reflected.

But they weren’t of the same mind when it came to acknowledging their crimes.

“I had to accept the mistakes that I made and take accountability,” Shah explained. “Elizabeth, she’s continued to defend her innocence while she’s been there.”

When she asked Holmes about her continued insistence, she recalled, Holmes “paused and said, ‘My kids. I want them to know that I’m innocent.’”

‘What the hell did he just say?’ GOP Iran worries build after Trump speech.

President Donald Trump’s primetime address on Iran did little to relieve rising alarm from plugged-in Republicans in key states across the country who see the war as pushing costs higher and their midterm chances ever-lower.

Trump declared Wednesday night that the U.S. offensive in Iran is “nearing completion” but warned that military operations would intensify over the “next two to three weeks.” He attempted to clarify his goals for the war — to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities — and insisted it was never about regime change. And he shrugged off the spike in oil and gas prices as a “short-term increase.”

To a number of GOP strategists and local party leaders involved in key congressional and gubernatorial races, the message was too little, too late and too jumbled.

“What the hell did he just say?” one GOP strategist in a battleground state wrote in a text to POLITICO after the president’s address, granted anonymity to speak candidly. “A quick recap and a path forward would’ve been helpful. Instead, it was nonsense left for Sean Hannity to articulate.”

Trump’s decision to attack Iran, and the subsequent spike in oil and gas prices, are the latest sources of heartburn for Republicans who were already feeling queasy about public opinion that has turned against Trump’s domestic agenda. They heard little new information Wednesday night from the president that signaled a course correction.

Conversations with more than half a dozen operatives and party chairs across seven battleground states revealed their anxiety that the prolonged conflict is overshadowing the White House’s affordability message and could hurt their chances of holding onto power this November.

The Republicans who spoke to POLITICO were particularly concerned about Trump’s waving off the financial strain the war has put on day-to-day prices, touting “the strongest economy in history” with “no inflation.” Two different strategists compared the latter comments to President Joe Biden’s repeated insistence that the economy was doing better than they believed.

“Not sure people will buy the strong economy part,” Todd Gillman, a Michigan GOP district chair, said in a message Wednesday night. “Inflation is definitely more under control than it was under Biden, but the prices haven’t come down on a lot of things.”

Without any clear announcements from Trump on an endgame in the region, future markets for U.S. stocks recoiled and average national gas prices topped $4 per gallon. Crude oil prices soared to over $111 per barrel on Thursday morning.

Others were left wanting more specifics from Trump on an exit strategy and the factors that drew the U.S. into the war. “I think it could’ve been a little more specific or expanded on the exact threats that Iran poses to the U.S.,” said one Wisconsin-based GOP strategist. “I don’t know the extent he’s able to get into that stuff based off intelligence, but maybe he could have been a little bit more expansive there.”

Polls have consistently shown a majority of Americans oppose the military operation in Iran by double-digit margins. The conflict is already fracturing the president’s loyal MAGA base, alienating young men who believed in his “America First” message. And Democrats are beginning to go on the attack in campaign ads, accusing vulnerable GOP lawmakers of prioritizing the president’s multibillion dollar offensive over making voters’ lives more affordable.

One GOP operative working on a battleground House race found solace in Trump’s talk of an exit strategy, saying voters would be “relieved to hear that we’re not going to be sticking around.”

“On the other hand, I don’t think anybody has confidence that gas prices will just come down on their own,” said the operative, who was granted anonymity to deliver a candid assessment. “Overall, there’s really nothing in here that helps to sell this to the public.”

Some said the address may have come too late.

“It’s something that probably should have been done at the beginning of the conflict,” said Dennis Lennox, a Michigan-based GOP strategist.

Still, others in the party found that Trump’s address met the moment and lavished praise on the president. Mark Levin, a staunch Trump ally and conservative commentator, said he delivered a “PERFECT SPEECH” in a post on X.

Brent Littlefield, a GOP strategist involved in several races, including in Maine’s battleground 2nd congressional district, lauded Trump’s decision to speak directly to Americans and dismissed concerns that the remarks came too late in the conflict to help him articulate his case to voters.

“It was right for the President to wait to do that until after the conflict began,” Littlefield said. “He did not telegraph the move to the enemy of what the United States was planning to do.”

Samuel Benson contributed to this report.

2026 NFL Uniforms: Atlanta Falcons Drop New Jerseys

The only constant in life is change, and in the NFL, that can mean a million different things. One of those changes could be a team’s appearance, and we’ve already seen multiple teams announce new jerseys for next season. Here are the teams that have released a new uniform and/or rebranded their entire look for the 2026 NFL season: Atlanta Falcons The Falcons have a new look. Atlanta announced on Apr. 2 that it’s rolling out a new base uniform. The home look features a black helmet with a red uniform and white numbers and pants, whereas the road appearance features a black helmet with a white uniform, red numbers and the option for either black or white pants. The Falcons will still break out the throwback red helmets on occasion. “While the uniforms are the most visible elements of our brand, it’s just one piece of where our brand shows up,” Falcons Chief Marketing Officer Shannon Joyner said in an interview with the team’s website. “Our brand shows up in a variety of spaces from uniforms, to what you see in terms of buildings and the stadium, all the different fan gear, all the different places where our brand shows up — through that lens, and through thoughtful research, analysis and consideration, our brand is in a really strong spot, and we have had a lot of positive growth of our brand since we switched to our current design set with the bird logo in the early 2000s, so we wanted to continue to invest in that.” Tennessee Titans On Mar. 12, Tennessee revealed a new look that pays homage to its Houston Oilers’ roots. The Titans’ home look features a blue jersey and white pants, while the road look features a white jersey and the option for either light blue or white pants. Meanwhile, “TITANS” is stitched across the chest for the home jersey, while “TENNESSEE” is stitched across the chest for the road jersey. “We wanted to come up with something that took the best parts of all of that and bring it together in a way that makes sense,” Titans President and Chief Executive Officer Burke Nihill said in an interview with the team’s website. “I feel like we’re building on the legacy of what got us here, and we’re doing it in a way that is going to set the course of this organization for decades to come in a pretty special way.”Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Anne Wilson Experiences Full-Circle Moment Singing National Anthem At NASA’s Artemis II launch

Before she knew music was the path she was meant to take, Anne Wilson had a dream of becoming an astronaut and on Wednesday, April 1, she got to honor that dream in a huge way. The songstress was selected to sing the national anthem at NASA’s Artemis II launch, turning that childhood aspiration into an unforgettable moment in her career.

Standing near the site of the space launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Wilson donned a stunning black off-the-shoulder gown with silver sequins cascading down catching the sunlight with every movement. Her elegant ensemble matched the beauty that erupted from her prideful performance.

Artemis II marks NASA’s first crewed lunar mission in more than five decades. During the nearly 10-day journey, four astronauts will travel around the Moon, making their way farther from Earth and closer to the moon than anyone has in over half a century.

Getting to be a part of such a historic moment meant so much to the GRAMMY-nominated Christian and Country artist. She notes that it also felt incredibly full circle as she had dreams of venturing into this career as a child and even visited the Space Center as a child on April 3, 2016, nearly 10 years to the day of yesterday’s launch.

Those aspirations of going to space herself one day quickly shifted after the loss of her brother at 15 years old. The Kentucky native sang publicly for the first time at his funeral, which set her on a completely new path in music.

Reflecting on her recent performance, Wilson shares, “What an incredible honor it was to sing the National Anthem at the Artemis II launch!!! This moment feels so full circle for me. There was a time in my life when I dreamed of becoming an astronaut and working for @nasa. After walking through deep loss in my family, my path changed in ways I never expected,” she explained. “And yet, standing here now, getting to be a small part of something so historic, I’m just overwhelmed by God’s goodness. He writes stories far greater than we could ever imagine, and I’m so grateful to be living in His 🥹🤍🚀🌙”

This was also a very fitting opportunity for Wilson as it follows her latest album Stars. The project, which arrived in October even features a line in the title track that finds Wilson singing, “thought I’d be an astronaut, land on the moon, but life happened fast, and I grew up too soon.”

Plus, she is currently in the midst of The Star Tour in support of the album. The trek launched last month and is set to continue through May 11, when she will wrap things up in Toronto, ON.
