Mitchell Tenpenny Offers A Reflective Take on Love, Growth, and Finding Yourself In ‘You Phase’

Mitchell Tenpenny has done it again, crafting a song that perfectly captures the awkward, messy, and sometimes confusing journey of falling in love with the wrong person. For his first release of 2026, the singer/songwriter delivers “You Phase,” a track that explores the personal growth that often follows a difficult breakup.

Collaborating with songwriters Andy Albert and Corey Crowder, Tenpenny says he set out to create a song that included a “cool play on words.” The minute the title “You Phase” was thrown out that day, he had a lightbulb moment and knew “exactly” how the story was going to unfold.

From there, the idea evolved into a reflective track that finds Tenpenny singing from the perspective of someone who’s finally in a place where they can look back on a past relationship and clearly recognize all the ways he lost himself. This is the kind of realization that can only come with time and after achieving a bit of personal growth.

“I’ve personally had so many phases in my life, some good and some bad. Referring to a phase in the song as a relationship was certainly a unique concept. I have never heard it expressed in that way. We all go through transitions in our lives with relationships, careers, and more, trying to figure out who we are and where we want to be,” Tenpenny shared.

He recalls doing things he never thought he would, from drinking white wine and getting matching tattoos to changing his personality, all to try and fit the expectations of a partner. The central concept of the “you phase” refers to the act of going through a period in life where one’s identity gets lost as a result of someone else’s desires.

“I was going through a you phase those days/ I was living out a suitcase at your place/ All my buddies told me you changed, yeah, I changed/ Trying to be what I thought you wanted/ I’ll admit it/ I lost myself for a minute/ Damn near drowned I was so deep in it/  But these days, I ain’t/  It’s like who was he/ Baby, that was me in my you phase/ Oh, my you phase,” Tenpenny sings.

The chorus hits emotionally, especially as listeners see he’s come out the other side stronger and more self-aware. With a guitar-driven, mellow arrangement, the track’s rhythm lets the storytelling shine, while Tenpenny’s warm, soulful voice carries both vulnerability and grit.

“You Phase” also comes to life in the form of a new music video which captures the Nashville native following in the shadow of a relationship. The visuals cleverly find him walking behind her in several different forms of himself, trying to make something click. At the end, he stops in his tracks realizing that he’s gotten too far away from his true self.

This marks the first of several new releases set to arrive from Tenpenny in 2026. It follows his October single “Therapy” and recent collaborations, including “The Getaway” with The Strike, “Realize” with Colbie Caillat, and “Says I Can” with Kane Brown and Scotty McCreery.

On March 3, Tenpenny will take part in The Listening Room’s 20th anniversary celebration with a performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The special night will also feature HARDY, Blessing Offor, Jo Dee Messina, Phil Barton, Brian Davis, J.T. Harding, Matt Jenkins, Wendell Mobley, and James Slater.

Fans can also head to Mitchell Tenpenny’s website for a full list of his headline shows this year, plus his April stops on HARDY’s “The Country! Country! Tour.”

Bailey Zimmerman Reflects on a Year of Growth, Resilience, and Fan Support Ahead of 2026 Tour

“When you get knocked down… you get back up.” This is the mantra that Bailey Zimmerman is carrying into 2026, after a year that tested him in unforgettable ways. Reflecting on 2025, he admits it was a time of learning and growth but through it all, one thing remained clear: the unwavering support of his fans.

Just a few weeks into the new year, Zimmerman posted a heartfelt message to the fans who have stuck by him in the toughest of moments. The note was accompanied by a video recapping the highs and lows of 2025, starting with a mistake he made last January that felt like put him on blast in front of “the whole world.” The moment he’s referring to is the highly criticized performance he gave after appearing to be intoxicated on stage at Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa.

The next clip was taken from his apology video, in which he promised to do everything in his power to ensure something like that “never happens again.” Despite the setbacks, 2025 was filled with unforgettable highs, including performing on massive stages alongside Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen and taking part in a string of major festivals.

He wrote, “I’ve been thinking a lot and reminiscing on 2025 because it truly changed my life and will be a year I never forget. A lot of learning and a whole lot of growing up… but anyways when I think about it, all I can think about is how I owe every single one of yall that stuck with me and had my back through that really low point in my life… the BIGGEST thank you… SO THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU.”

Even after the challenges that were thrown at him, it was clear how much Zimmerman’s fans’ support meant, as it gave him the strength to keep moving forward and live up to the expectations he set for himself.

“I told yall I was gonna do better and be better for everyone and I really do appreciate yall giving me another chance and continuing to rock with me even though you didn’t have to❤️ IMO we absolutely crushed 2025 and made some memories that will stick with us for a lifetime. Got knocked down, but got back up!”

Zimmerman left fans hyped for what’s next, hinting at big shows and big moments to come, “LETS BURN IT DOWN IN 2026… SEE YALL ON TOUR🔥🤘”

RNC takes steps toward a 2026 GOP midterm convention

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Republicans are one step closer to finalizing plans for a midterm convention later this year.

The Republican National Committee approved a rule change during its winter meeting on Friday that would allow the party to hold a convention during a midterm election year.

“I’m incredibly excited about the possibility of hosting midterm convention to highlight what President Trump and Republicans have been able to accomplish this year,” RNC Chairman Joe Gruters said after the rule change was adopted. “If the president wants us to host a convention to highlight the great work this administration has done for the American people, we are doing the work now and will be ready to act when that time comes.”

The amendment was approved at the RNC’s winter meeting with no objections. An unusually high number of RNC members had already left the meeting to catch early flights ahead of winter storms bearing down on much of the country by the time the vote was brought up.

The rule authorizes the RNC to “conduct a special ceremonial convention between presidential conventions, such as a midterm convention,” said Bill O’Brien, the national committeeman from New Hampshire.

National party conventions have typically been held only during presidential elections in the modern era. But President Donald Trump announced in September that the party would be holding a “Midterm Convention,” leaving the party scrambling to execute.

The event would give Republicans an opportunity to message the administration’s wins and platform candidates in battleground races across the country as they fight to hold onto congressional control.

Democrats, who held a series of midterm-year national conventions in the 1970s, are also flirting with the possibility. At the Democratic National Committee’s winter meetings in Los Angeles last month, officials from Nebraska and Utah were among those jockeying to host the potential event.

Republicans have not yet announced where their convention will be held or when, though Nevada GOP leaders are pushing for Las Vegas to host.

Winter Storm Fern Forces Jason Aldean to Postpone Charleston, West Virginia Concert

Jason Aldean returned to the road this week on his Full Throttle Tour, but Winter Storm Fern has already thrown a wrench in the plans, forcing the country superstar to postpone his Charleston, West Virginia show to a later date.

Aldean was scheduled to perform at the Charleston Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 24 as part of his latest headlining run. According to a statement from the venue, which was later shared by the Georgia native himself, the show has been rescheduled for Friday, August 21.

The statement reads:

Jason Aldean’s performance at Charleston Coliseum on Saturday, January 24th, has been rescheduled to Friday, August 21st, due to inclement weather. All previously purchased tickets will be owned for the new date, and additional tickets are on sale now at LiveNation.com. We apologize for the inconvenience.

According to his website, Aldean’s next scheduled performance is January 29 at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania, followed by shows in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Atlantic City, New Jersey. After that, he’ll take a short break from the road before heading to Australia and New Zealand.

This marks Aldean’s return to Australia for the first time since 2016, when he made history as the first headlining artist to sell out CMC Rocks QLD Country Music Festival.

Upon returning to the United States, Aldean will head back to his home state of Georgia for a special show at Sanford Stadium (Dooley Field) at the University of Georgia on April 25, where he will perform alongside fellow Georgia native Luke Bryan.

The longtime friends first rocked Sanford Stadium in 2013 as part of Aldean’s Night Train Tour, which at the time was the only concert ever held at the venue. The upcoming show will feature openers Zach Top, Lauren Alaina, DJ Rock, and Dee Jay Silver. The Live Between the Hedges concert series is presented by Pruitt Health.

This highly anticipated concert falls amid release week for Aldean’s upcoming 20-track album, Songs About Us, slated to drop on April 24. The project features collaborations with Bryan, his wife, Brittany Aldean, and his latest hit single, “How Far Does A Goodbye Go.”

Wellington Dickens III Met Up With Grindr Dates While His Children’s Bodies …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

In October, a North Carolina man named Wellington Delano Dickens III called 911 and told the operator that he had killed four of his children.

Dickens later confessed to burying a fifth child — a one-month-old infant named Riley — in the woods near his home.

Dickens tells authorities that Riley’s health declined shortly after the family moved to a home in Zebulon, east of Raleigh.

Latest confession comes weeks after Dickens admitted to killing four children

Dickens has been in police custody since October 27 when he called 911 to confess that he had killed four children.

Police arrived at his home to find four of Dickens’ kids aged 6, 9, and 10, along with his 18-year-old stepchild, inside the trunk of a car parked in his garage.

New details of the case continue to emerge, and this week, we learned that Dickens used the dating app Grindr to invite multiple men to his home during the weeks while his children’s bodies were in his trunk.

“Dickens continued to speak with the dispatcher saying that he did not torture his children, he over-disciplined his children and was wanting to turn himself in,” reads an affidavit in the case.

Dickens’ wife passed away in April, leaving him to care for his four children and adult stepchild.

Insiders say he had been acting erratically since his father passed the previous year.

Authorities say they’ve been unable to locate child’s remains

When Riley died, Dickens says, he wrapped him in plastic and disposed of the body.

The death was not reported to authorities until the moment that Dickens, 38, made his shocking confession.

Authorities searched the area that Dickens described, but were unable to locate Riley’s body.

According to NBC News, they have requested additional resources to aid in the search.

Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeff Caldwell told reporters that the search for Riley’s remains is ongoing and no additional charges have been filed against Dickens.

We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

Ryan Wedding: Olympian and Alleged Drug Kingpin Arrested Following Yearlong Manhunt

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The FBI has apprehended one of its most wanted alleged criminals.

Ryan Wedding made a name for himself as an Olympic snowboarder for Team Canada back in 2002.

But according to investigators, he then shifted his focus to international drug trafficking.

The FBI claims that Wedding is one of the most feared kingpins on the planet and has ordered murders of multiple witnesses — and now he’s finally in custody.

According to US Attorney General Pam Bondi, Wedding was arrested in Mexico on Thursday.

“At my direction, Department of Justice agents @FBI have apprehended yet another member of the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted List: Ryan Wedding, the onetime Olympian snowboarder-turned alleged violent cocaine kingpin,” Bondi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) today.

“Wedding was flown to the United States where he will face justice,” she continued, adding:

“This is a direct result of President Trump’s law-and-order leadership. Under @POTUS, criminals have no safe harbor.

“Director Patel has worked tirelessly to bring fugitives to justice. We are grateful to our incredible Ambassador Ron Johnson and the Mexican authorities for assisting us in this case.”

“This is a huge day for a safer North America, and the world, and a message that those who break our laws and harm our citizens will be brought to justice,” Patel wrote on his own X account.

The FBI has been in pursuit of Wedding since November of 2025, when he was charged with murder and money laundering and added to the agency’s Most Wanted list.

The US government offered a $15 million bounty for his arrest.

Investigators claim that Wedding made tens of millions by shipping more than 130,000 lbs of cocaine a year.

Wedding has also been indicted for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to export cocaine, continuing criminal enterprise, and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a continuing criminal enterprise and drug crime.

Wedding’s alleged accomplice Andrew Clark was arrested in Mexico in 2024. He has since been handed over to the United States to face trial.

The FBI and DOJ are planning to reveal more information at a press conference later today.
