Thomas Rhett and his family are heading into the new year with a little more fur and a lot more love.
After experiencing heartbreaking season of loss last fall when the Rhett family said goodbye to their two beloved dogs, Kona and Cash, the singer, his wife Lauren, and their four daughters have welcomed two new puppies into their home: Nero and Moose.

Their “sweet little Cash man” was first to pass away in October. At the time, Rhett penned a heartfelt Instagram post in his honor, in which he reflected on the fact that Cash had been a constant presence through every major milestone, including welcoming each of their daughters home for the first time.
He wrote, “Today our sweet little Cash man went to go be with Jesus. He was the most loyal, kind dog that I have ever known. He was Lauren’s best friend. He was there when every single baby came home for the first time. He would stay up so many late nights with her while she was sick and I was gone. I never in a million years thought that a dog I got so frustrated with for eating food or tearing up things in the house would make me this sad.”
At the end of the message, the country star encouraged anyone who has a dog to “give them some extra love” as he and his family suddenly felt a lot more quiet without Cash roaming around.
“I know Cash is running around in heaven and will be the first one to greet us when we get there,” he added.
Kona passed away the following month, and the brief gap between her and Cash’s deaths led Rhett to believe she simply wanted to be reunited with Cash.
“It’s been a tough dog month for our family,” the “Old Tricks” singer admitted. “We lost our little Kona girl. I think after cash passed she just wanted to go be with him. It’s weird losing a dog, cause whether you know it or not they are just always there, always by your side at the dinner table. They are truly a part of your family.”
Rhett admitted it took some courage to listen to HARDY’s powerful song “Dog Years,” knowing that it would hit him harder than ever. He says the lyrics brought him to tears, and made him realize just how much he missed Kona and Cash, but was also met with some peace while imagining them happy together in heaven.
Despite the grief, the Rhett and his family have slowly opened their hearts again. The day after Christmas 2025, he and Lauren revealed that a new dog named Nero joined their family in September. Nero even had time to bond with Kona and Cash before they passed, which they believe helped with the transition, as if the two older dogs “passed on the family dog responsibilities” to him.
Then, just in time for the holidays, Santa delivered a second surprise in the form of Moose, who Rhett jokingly described as being “not so little.” Images of the two new dogs were included in the carousel of family photos, making it clear that they are already fitting with in.
Another video shared on the Southern Oak Kennels account shows the moment Rhett’s daughters met Moose for the first time on Christmas. The couple expressed gratitude for their growing family, noting that Nero already feels like he’s “been with us forever.”
While Kona and Cash are deeply missed, the arrival of Nero and Moose marks a hopeful new chapter. Soon, the Rhett family will get even bigger as the parents are expecting their fifth child. They made the exciting announcement on Instagram early Tuesday, August 26.

They captioned the sweet video, “Here we go again! We’ve got some really excited big sisters in our house. God is so good.”
Their newest little one will join their four girls: Willa Gray (9), Ada James (8) , Lennon Love (5), and Lillie Carolina (3). They have yet to share the gender of baby No. 5, but when he or she arrives, they will officially be a family of nine, thanks to the addition of Moose and Nero.

On the morning of January 7, 2026, at 7 a.m. EST, Neal McCoy celebrated a proud milestone on the White House North Lawn. For the past 10 years, the country star has delivered the Pledge of Allegiance live on Facebook, turning what began as a simple idea into a cherished tradition that unites Americans coast to coast in a shared moment of patriotism.

Known for his authenticity and heart, McCoy has earned many awards and has long supported the U.S. military, performing for troops around the world. Getting to do the daily pledge is something that has become very meaningful for him and has allowed him to connect with his fans in a whole new way.
“Patriotism is not political,” says McCoy. “Today is a big milestone for me and for all the followers that tune in each day to recite the Pledge of Allegiance with me. I am honored to be in the nation’s capital and especially the White House. It is such a historical building and one of the most worldly known buildings, so to be welcomed inside the gates and to honor our flag and America here is really something.”
During this morning’s live appearance, he began by thanking everyone who has joined him on this journey for the past decade. He admits there were days where if he didn’t have the videos to hold him accountable, he may have gave into the ease of sleeping in, but with their support he has upheld this ritual every day.
“Thank you for all your support over the years…We’re gonna continue to do this maybe even have a chance to say the pledge with the president.”
McCoy proceeded to ask all those watching to join him from wherever they are watching, took off his hat and delivered the Pledge.
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” he proudly stated with his right hand over the heart.
The Texas native also made an appearance on Newsmax to commemorate the milestone anniversary. There, he explained that the idea to start this ritual began back in January of 2016. At the time, he was witnessing members of the democratic and republican parties arguing over their differences an lieu of the upcoming election.
“I knew they were already starting to hammer on each other pretty good and I just said, I can go and let, everybody, really, doesn’t matter who’s gonna win the presidency or run the administration, I’m still gonna pledge my allegiance to our flag and to our country no matter what happens,” he told the reporter.
From there, the live appearances started blowing up and reaching up to a million people in a day, he added.
“It’s just something I’m extremely proud of,” McCoy declared.
What began as a simple act has turned into a decade-long commitment, and McCoy says he plans to keep showing up and proudly reciting the Pledge of Allegiance alongside anyone willing to listen, regardless of political beliefs.

Jelly Roll is hitting the stage in a whole new way, this time as a judge on the reboot of Star Search. Netflix has announced that he will join actress Sarah Michelle Gellar and model, author, and TV personality, Chrissy Teigen on the new edition of the hit show.
The original version of the show ran on TV from 1983 to 1995 and helped launch the careers of up and comers who have gone on to become some of entertainment’s biggest names, including Dave Chappelle, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Adam Sandler and more.

On January 20, the legendary competition will come to life again on Netflix in a brand-new, high-energy format that will be live and fully interactive, giving viewers the chance to cast votes in real time for the very first time on the streaming service.
Anthony Anderson is set to host the Star Search reboot, with plans to keep the spirit of the original show alive while adding a fresh, real-time twist. Each week, audiences will watch an array of performers, including musicians, dancers, comedians, and kids’ acts, compete live.
“I’m super excited to host this new chapter of Star Search and to introduce such an iconic format to a whole new generation, especially on a global stage like Netflix,” Anderson shared. “The range of talent we’re going to see is going to blow you away, and I can’t wait for audiences to experience all the performances, surprises and sheer excitement that this new era of Star Search will deliver.”
Jelly Roll, Gellar, and Teigen will help determine which performers have what it takes to make it to the next round however, it’s the audience that drives the votes. Every performance, reveal, and elimination will happen instantly as Anderson guides viewers through all the high-stakes, career-changing moments.
“The live voting feature is a total game-changer,” he added. “Knowing that fans from all over the world can cast their votes in real time adds a whole new layer of excitement and participation to the mix. It’s like we’re all part of the show and get to be one of the judges.”
A complete guide on ‘How to Vote for Star Search on Netflix’ will soon be available on Tudum, walking viewers through the entire process of when and how to vote and how the live experience works on different devices.
