Cardi B surprised dozens of local mothers Monday night when she made an unannounced appearance at boyfriend Stefon Diggs‘ first-ever “Winter Wonderland Wellness Event” at Gillette Stadium.

The multi-platinum rapper quietly entered midway through the Patriots’ wide receiver’s charity event. She drew excited screams from children and mothers who had no idea another special guest would join the evening.

Diggs organized the wellness day through his Diggs Deep Foundation to pamper New England mothers with spa treatments, guided yoga sessions and kids’ activities. The event featured protein and grain bowl stations where teammate Brenden Schooler was spotted enjoying the healthy options.

“Every year’s a hard year, especially for moms. My mom’s actually here today, special guest,” Diggs said. “So I just wanted to have a wellness day, an appreciation day. Everybody works extremely hard and I’m extremely blessed, so paying it forward is going to be something always extremely big for me.”

Cardi B and Diggs took photos with fans before participating in a yoga session together. The couple appeared happy and relaxed as they stretched alongside the grateful mothers.

The Winter Wonderland Wellness Event concluded with families receiving gift bags and memories of an unexpected celebrity encounter that made their evening extra special.

This marked the second event the Diggs Deep Foundation hosted for local families at Gillette Stadium. The non-profit invited New England mothers and children to a similar celebration last month.

The Bronx native previously donated $100,000 to her former middle school, I.S. 232 Alexander Macomb School, to fund arts programs.

Rick Ross is hitting the highway and the bookshelf with Renaissance of a Boss, a memoir-meets-manifesto set to drop May 12, 2026, via Hanover Square Press, chronicling his creative reboot and personal detours through fame, failure and psychedelic self-discovery.

The Hip-Hop heavyweight’s third literary effort follows a sprawling, soul-searching road trip that includes a failed attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, a surreal mushroom trip that convinced him he was in Emancipation, and a sweat lodge ceremony in Santa Fe.

Along the way, Ross opens up about the artistic burnout he hit as he neared 50 and the 20th anniversary of his breakout single “Hustlin’.”

“This isn’t just a book; it’s a manual for greatness,” Ross said. “I’m cutting out the noise and showing you that when you execute with precision, success is too easy.”

Titled Renaissance of a Boss: Notes from a Creative Awakening, the book was acquired by Hanover Square Press with world rights secured by Robert Guinsler at Sterling Lord Literistic. Grace Towery will handle editing duties.

The memoir is packed with behind-the-scenes stories about Ross’s collaborations with Dr. Dre, Bruno Mars and Bill Murray, as well as insights into how some of his biggest records came to life. Ross also shares advice on navigating creative slumps, staying original, and bouncing back from artistic misfires.

The book draws parallels between Ross’s creative process and that of Pablo Picasso, and includes reflections on how inspiration strikes and how to keep evolving when the world expects repetition.

Stops on Ross’s journey include Graceland in Memphis and Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, along with culinary and cultural pit stops that shaped his artistic outlook.

The trip, he says, reignited the spark that led to his upcoming album, also expected in 2026.

Ross, a New York Times bestselling author, previously released Hurricanes and The Perfect Day to Boss Up.

All eleven of his studio albums have charted on the Billboard 200, with five debuting at No. 1. He is also the founder of Maybach Music Group and has received nine Grammy nominations.

Kay Flock stood before a Manhattan federal judge Tuesday (December 16) as his attorneys argued there was no way he masterminded a violent Bronx gang due to an “intellectual disability” that allegedly left him incapable of leading the Sev Side/DOA crew.

The 22-year-old drill rapper, born Kevin Perez, appeared in court for sentencing after a March conviction on racketeering conspiracy and weapons charges and was hit with a 30-year bid.

Prosecutors were pushing for a 50-year prison term, accusing him of directing a string of brutal shootings across the Bronx and upper Manhattan between 2020 and 2022.

In a sharp pivot, Flock’s legal team claimed he lacked the mental ability to control the gang, alleging another member “managed” him instead, which helped get 20 years shaved off what prosecutors were gunning for.

The defense’s argument, introduced during sentencing, sought to reduce the weight of the charges by challenging the notion that Flock was the crew’s ringleader. Federal prosecutors dismissed the claim outright, calling it a “transparent attempt to deflect responsibility.”

They insisted Flock “was the one leading the charge on the street,” pointing to his alleged role in a violent spree that left multiple victims injured or dead.

One of the most serious incidents tied to the case was the December 2021 killing of Hwascar Hernandez outside a Hamilton Heights barbershop.

While Flock was acquitted of that murder charge after his attorneys successfully argued self-defense, the government maintains he orchestrated a broader campaign of violence.

“Over the course of less than 18 months, [Kay Flock] and his fellow gang members engaged in a campaign of violence, deepening existing gang rivalries and instigating new feuds where none had previously existed. Dozens of people were shot at, injured, and even killed during this short period of time, due to the increased gang violence whipped up, in large part, by [Kay Flock],” Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael R. Herman said.

Following his partial legal win, Flock celebrated on Instagram, writing “I beat the top count” and claiming he “made the judge cry.”

Kay Flock gained notoriety in 2020 with his breakout drill track “PSA” and later collaborated with Cardi B, helping cement his place in New York’s drill movement.

But his rise in music has been overshadowed by his legal troubles.

Snoop Dogg will bring Hip-Hop flair and holiday cheer to the NFL’s Christmas Day showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions, headlining Netflix’s halftime show at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The Snoop Dogg performance, dubbed “Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party,” follows last year’s blockbuster Beyoncé appearance, which drew 27 million viewers during Netflix’s first-ever Christmas Day NFL broadcast.

This year, the West Coast icon takes the spotlight with a festive set that promises music, energy and surprise guests.

“NFL, Netflix, and your uncle Snoop on Christmas Day?” he said. “We’re servin’ up music, love and good vibes for the whole world to enjoy. That’s the kind of holiday magic Santa can’t fit in a bag.”

Netflix has yet to reveal who will join the Long Beach legend on stage, but the streamer teased that special guests will appear during the live performance. The show will air during halftime of the 4:30 P.M. ET game between the Lions and Vikings.

Snoop’s latest booking adds another milestone to his already packed 2024.

Dionne Warwick is stuck in a legal battle as the management company that negotiated her lucrative sample deal for Doja Cat’s massive hit “Paint the Town Red” demands millions in unpaid fees.

Artist Rights Enforcement Corp filed suit Monday, claiming the R&B legend is trying to dodge a 50% royalty split agreement that helped generate over $2.5 million in revenue. The lawsuit centers on Warwick’s 1964 classic “Walk on By,” which became the foundation for Doja Cat’s biggest commercial success to date.

“Paint the Town Red” dominated charts worldwide in 2023, spending three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming the first rap song to reach the top spot that year. The track broke Spotify streaming records, eventually surpassing 1 billion streams, making Doja Cat’s sixth song to reach the milestone.

Artist Rights Enforcement claims it has represented Dionne Warwick since 2002, “at great effort and expense,” on complex rights issues ranging from Doja Cat sample clearance to a prior lawsuit by Atlantic Records.

According to Billboard, the company alleges Warwick agreed to a perpetual 50% cut of recovered royalties in exchange for representation “at no cost to her.”

“After decades of service, Ms. Warwick is now trying to evade paying Artists Rights hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars,” the lawsuit states. “In doing so, she has violated her contracts with Artists Rights.”

The financial stakes are substantial, given “Paint the Town Red’s” commercial dominance. The song generated over 84 million streams worldwide in its peak week and maintained consistent streaming numbers throughout its chart run.

Doja Cat’s album Scarlet, anchored by the Warwick-sampling hit, debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

According to court documents, Artist Rights helped increase Warwick’s royalty distributions by a “sixty-fold” margin over the years, generating significant revenue from various enforcement efforts. The company handled matters involving SoundExchange, Sony Music tax issues and the high-profile 2023 sample clearance that made “Paint the Town Red” possible.

The lawsuit reveals that Warwick began expressing reluctance to continue making payments to Artist Rights, and that her lawyers allegedly sent a termination letter in September. Still, the company argues it fulfilled all contractual obligations while Warwick “wrongfully and unreasonably repudiated the contracts.”

Neither Doja Cat nor Atlantic Records was named as a defendant in the case. Representatives for Warwick have not responded to requests for comment about the legal action.

Artist Rights Enforcement seeks damages for breach of contract and demands that Warwick honor the perpetual royalty arrangement that facilitated one of 2023’s biggest musical successes.

Chance the Rapper brought holiday cheer and two wheels of freedom to a crowd of Chicago children on Monday (December 16) by giving away 100 bicycles during a festive event at Raising Cane’s in Chicago Ridge.

The Grammy winner teamed up with his nonprofit SocialWorks and the fast-food chain to distribute custom bikes and helmets to local kids, who also received meals and enjoyed live caroling as they tested their new rides in the parking lot.

“It’s a quintessential childhood gift, like everybody remembers their first bike,” Chance told the Chicago Sun-Times. “My dad taught me how to ride a bike and it was a big deal. It was like going through driving school, he was very intent on getting me to understand it and not giving up.”

The giveaway was part of a larger effort by Raising Cane’s, which donated 200 bikes in total—doubling last year’s contribution. Half were given out on Monday, while the other 100 had already been distributed at a warming center near a Green Line CTA station two days earlier.

Chance, a proud Chicago native, emphasized the importance of bikes as a symbol of independence for young people.

“Once you get your bike, it’s like a new level of independence that you reach and being able to decide where you’re going, like, transportation wise, as a kid,” he said.
