Jacob Ryan Gustafson took the stage for the second round of The Voice Season 28 Blind Auditions on Tuesday. While the singer didn’t manage to earn a chair turn, he still made a lasting impression when he proposed to his girlfriend.
The 35-year-old firefighter from Yucaipa, California, first showcased his talent by performing his rendition of Morgan Wallen’s “Spin You Around.” The coaches Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Niall Horan and Snoop Dogg each listened intently as Jacob poured his heart into the moving lyrics while strumming his acoustic guitar.
During his delivery, Bublé commented, “I love those character voices,” to which Horan responded, “Me too.”
It was clear that a few of the coaches were struggling with whether or not to push the big red button in front of them. But by the time Jacob strummed his last chords, none of the chairs had turned, meaning he would not advance in the competition.
Before hearing the coaches give their feedback on the performance, Jacob asked if he could have someone important join him on stage.
“She is the reason why I’m here,” he said as his girlfriend Jennifer made her way towards him.
Reba McEntire was first to give a warm welcome to Jennifer.
She said, “Very nice to meet you. Welcome to The Voice.”
Horan was first to share his thoughts on Jacob’s audition.
“I got to be honest with you, Jacob. I was so close. If I could press it now, I would, but I’m so sorry.”
Snoop Dogg took a moment to share his gratitude and appreciation for the singer’s bravery as he puts his life on the line each day as a first responder.
“Let me commend you for the firefighting that you do every day to keep us safe out here in California.”
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper offered Jacob a glimmer of hope, saying he would keep following his journey and, one day, might have the opportunity to work together under his label.
Snoop continued, “If this is what you really do, I’m going to follow you. I’m going to see what you working with, and I do have a record label too, so we may be able to work out a few things, brother J.”
“That would be amazing,” Jacob responded.
Then, Jacob surprised everyone in the room when he professed his love for his girlfriend.

“This life is a beautiful life and I’m so blessed and even right now, if I could change anything, the only thing I change is your last name.”
Jennifer had tears in her eyes as she watched the man in front of her get down on one knee, pull a ring out of his pocket and ask, “Will you marry me?”
She gave a subtle nod of the head and then shared a kiss with her new fiancé. The coaches quickly surrounded them, offering words of congratulations on the milestone moment.
“Oh, go ahead Jacob,” Snoop encouraged, adding “get her J” and a loud “congratulations.”
“Okay, so you won The Voice,” Bublé pointed out.
The “Haven’t Met You Yet” singer later added, “Jacob shows you that there are no losers on The Voice. What a beautiful moment. Yeah, nobody turned, but the person that he wanted most said yes.”
Jacob Ryan Gustafson may be ending his journey on The Voice, but he’s just beginning a new chapter as a newly engaged man.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Thousands of boots hit the dirt Friday night as Luke Bryan brought his 2025 Farm Tour to Prairie Grove, Illinois, transforming what’s normally a quiet Midwest corn field into a massive country music party.
Ticketholders showed up early to tailgate, line dance, and soak in the small-town atmosphere before the night kicked off with electrifying performances by Zach John King, The Peach Pickers and Tyler Hubbard. By the time Luke Bryan hit the stage a little after 8:30 p.m., the sun had set and the crowd over 20,000 fans from far and wide were fired up for a concert they wouldn’t forget.
“What’s up Illinois?” Bryan shouted as he checked in with the sold-out audience, grinning ear to ear. “Look at this crowd. I love y’all!”

From there, he wasted no time launching into his set list full of day-one fan-favorites like “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye,” “I Don’t Want This Night to End,”and “Kick the Dust Up.” The night wouldn’t have been complete without a tribute to the late Toby Keith, which both Bryan and his opener Zach John King catered to, with Bryan singing “Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)” and King delivering “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.”
Before diving into“What Makes You Country,” Bryan gave a shout out to all the “country folk” in the crowd and shared his pride for the farming community as both a Georgia native and son of a peanut farmer.
This set the tone for the next set of summertime country anthems: “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset,” “One Margarita,” “Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every Day” and more. Whether Bryan was throwing it back to fan-favorite hits from 2014’s Crash My Party album or spotlighting more recent releases from or 2024’s Mind of A Country Boy album, every song on the 23-song set list turned into a massive singalong. Between all the singing, dancing and constant cheering from the excited crowd, the farm felt like one giant honky-tonk full of country music lovers.

Just when we thought the show couldn’t get any better, the energy spiked when Bryan welcomed Hubbard back to the stage for a rowdy delivery of Florida Georgia Line’s 2013 collaboration with Bryan, “This Is How We Roll.” After the celebration-filled moment with Hubbard, Bryan shifted gears, trading the high energy for something more reflective. Flashlights lit up the field as he asked fans to raise their cups in honor of the loved ones they’ve lost, setting the tone for an emotional delivery of “Drink A Beer.”
He kept that heartfelt pace rolling with a string of slower songs, a portion of the show that was made even more unforgettable when rain began to fall during “Buy Dirt” and carried on through “Do I,” “Knockin’ Boots,” and “Drunk on You.” When the skies finally cleared, Bryan cranked things back up with “Rain Is a Good Thing,” a fitting anthem to follow the downpour just moments prior.
Bryan closed the night with a run of crowd-pleasers: “Play It Again,” “That’s My Kind of Night,” and, of course, a dance-filled “Country Girl (Shake It for Me).” Fans were still singing and dancing as they filed out around 10:30 p.m., signaling a successful performance. Before leaving the stage, Luke Bryan thanked his band, his openers, his Farm Tour partners, and the fans who spent their Saturday night under the lights with him.

From the first note to the final goodbye, the country music superstar proved that he’s one of country music’s most captivating performers. His undeniable talent soared across the cornfield, belting anthems and delivering heartfelt ballads. Every song, every dance move, and every interaction with the crowd showed that Bryan proved he can make any stage feel unforgettable.
Beyond the music, Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour continued its tradition of giving back for its 16th year. At each stop on the tour, food drives are being set up in partnership with Bayer and local Feeding America food banks. As a result, fans didn’t just show up for the concert, they also showed up for the local community by donating non-perishable food items and in return, received the chance to upgrade to a VIP experience.
By the end of the three Farm Tour shows, 15,000 pounds of food were collected—enough for 10,000 meals—through Feeding America, thanks to Bayer’s #HereToTheFarmer initiative. Bayer also presented a $5,000 check to the host of his Illinois tour stop, Berning Family Farms.
Inspired by his upbringing as the son of a peanut farmer and driven by his commitment to giving back, Luke Bryan launched the Farm Tour in 2009. Since then, the Georgia native has performed for thousands of fans and made dozens of appearances on farms across the country in an effort to support the kind of rural communities that shaped him.
Thanks to the Farm Tour, over 83 scholarships have been awarded to students from farming backgrounds attending colleges or universities near the tour stops since its inception. Through his partnership with Bayer and its “Take Care, Now” campaign, along with the #HerestotheFarmer initiative, Luke Bryan has also helped provide over 9 million meals to individuals facing hunger. His involvement with these programs has been instrumental in raising awareness, educating communities, and ensuring access to nutritious food and essential vitamins and minerals.
Earlier this year, Bryan brought his rural show to the west coast for the first time before returning to the Midwest. He closed out the run on Saturday, Sept. 20 with a concert at the Van Gilder Family Farm in Fowlerville, MI.
