Jennifer Aniston Breaks Silence on Death of Matthew Perry: ‘Part of Me Thinks This …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

It’s been nearly two years since Matthew Perry passed away.

And one of the TV legend’s most famous co-stars is now offering new insights into his tragically short life.

Some of Jennifer Aniston’s remarks might prove controversial — but they’re sure to be relatable to anyone who’s watched a loved one lose their battle with addiction or chronic illness.

Aniston says ‘Friends’ cast ‘mourned’ Perry for years before his death

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Aniston opened up about her feelings about her friend’s passing, two years on.

“It almost felt like we’d been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight,” she revealed.

“We did everything we could when we could,” Aniston added, likely referring to her Friends costars, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow.

Aniston made the painful admission that Perry’s death might have been preferable to the continued agony of his struggle to get sober.

“As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there’s a part of me that thinks this is better,” the actress said. “I’m glad he’s out of that pain.”

While Aniston has paid tribute to Perry several times in the past, she has never before spoken so candidly about his tragic passing.

Perry died of a ketamine overdose in October of 2023. Five individuals have been charged in connection with his death, including two doctors who recently pleaded guilty to distributing ketamine.

In a 2022 interview, Perry estimated that he’d spent “$9 million or something [on] trying to get sober” after struggling with substance abuse since his adolescent years.

Perry and Aniston’s friendship was famously close

“Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before,” Aniston wrote on her Instagram page following Perry’s death.

“We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply,” she continued, adding:

“He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be.”

Matthew Perry brought joy to millions over the course of his tragically brief life. Sadly, in the end, his own pain proved to be unendurable.

Our thoughts go out to Perry’s loved ones as they continue to mourn the comedy legend.

Cash Warren Steps Out With Jessica Alba Lookalike: Who is Hana Sun Doerr?

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Is Cash Warren dating a Jessica Alba lookalike?

Whether she is a “lookalike” of his ex-wife is contentious. And it’s probably subjective

But the young woman with whom he was photographed is gorgeous. She is also 21 years younger than he is.

Right on the heels of Alba dating a hot younger actor, it looks like Warren’s taking a cue from her.

Is Cash Warren dating a Jessica Alba lookalike after their split?

On Thursday, August 7, 46-year-old Cash Warren and 25-year-old Hana Sun Doerr enjoyed a late dinner out, Hello Magazine reports.

After, the two awaited the valet and headed off in a BMW.

There was even a photo, as you can see in the video below.

We of course do not know the status of what, if any, relationship they might have.

Warren has “liked” several of Doerr’s Instagram posts, but that generally means very little.

Except, of course, when it means everything.

Warren had previously stated that he was single, but that may have changed since then.

Who is Hana Sun Doerr?

Last month, we reported that Jessica Alba was dating the hot, younger actor, Danny Ramirez.

They, too, have an age gap — albeit closer to half Warren and Doerr’s.

Of course, most would not realize that Alba is older, given that the legendary beauty does appear to know about aging.

Doerr is known for her extensive modeling work. She was also in Minx (2022).

As we also reported, Warren weighed in on his ex-wife’s new relationship.

“I’m happy for her,” he told TMZ in July, though admitting that he has not met the hunky MCU actor.

When it came to whether Warren himself was dating, he replied:

“No, let me know if you’ve got anybody.”

Is she really a ‘lookalike’ though?

A lot of people immediately characterized Doerr as a Jessica Alba lookalike, which at the very least would imply that Cash Warren has a type.

Truth be told, Alba and Doerr are both very pretty women with … faces and hair and stuff.

They do not really resemble each other in any meaningful way, except that they are pretty and slender human women with prominent lips and more-than-decent eyebrows.

However, we are aware that facial recognition can vary widely from person to person.

Some of the people labeling Doerr a “lookalike” probably perceive the two women as looking very similar.

Lil Tay Likens OnlyFans Success to Sydney Sweeney, Sabrina Carpenter After (Allegedly) …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Lil Tay is on par with Sydney Sweeney and Sabrina Carpenter, to hear her tell it.

In 2016, she rose to fame as a tween, boasting about her alleged wealth. And, in 2023, she shocked the world with a death hoax.

About two weeks ago, the once-viral shockfluencer turned 18 years old.

She immediately applied to become an OnlyFans creator — and, according to her, has eclipsed Bhad Bhabie’s record and gained over $1 million in her first 24 hours on the platform.

Lil Tay when she was 17.
Days before her milestone birthday, Lil Tay teased her plans for early adulthood. (Image Credit: YouTube)

How much did Lil Tay earn after signing up for OnlyFans?

According to Lil Tay, she raked in over $1 million within the first few hours on OnlyFans.

She turned 18 on January 29, and of course did not get greenlit until the platform verified her age.

We have to emphasize that we cannot confirm her numbers. The adult media subscription platform does not disclose that sort of thing.

Also, Lil Tay — who was born Claire Eileen Qi Hope and is now named Tay Tian (Tian being her mother’s surname) — has a long history of inflammatory falsehoods.

Especially where it concerns money. Genuinely, it is how she became famous.

A Lil Tay tweetn screenshot of her OnlyFans earnings, allegedly.
In August 2025, just over a week after turning 18, Lil Tay claimed that she had made over $1 million in her first three hours as an OnlyFans creator. If true, it was a new record. (Image Credit: Twitter)

“Not bad for 3 hours,” Tay tweeted on August 3.

“We broke the f–k out of that onlyfans record,” she declared.

Accompanying these words was a photograph of what appeared to be an OnlyFans payout totalling over $1 million.

All of this is not without controversy

Lil Tay, who has compared herself to Sydney Sweeney and to Sabrina Carpenter (likening herself to their child), claims to have usurped Bhad Bhabie’s day-one subscription crown.

It allegedly took the rapper twice as long on OnlyFans to make $1 million.

She, too, joined immediately after turning 18.

We of course cannot verify these numbers. Lil Tay also has a longstanding beef with Bhabie. But then, who doesn’t?

By the way, loath as many may be to admit it, but Tay cooked with “Stuck In July.” It is, we fear, a bop.

Unfortunately, reactionaries and twisted opportunists — including some on the political Left, where you’d normally expect to find people supporting basic human rights — are trying to use Tay’s success to rail against OnlyFans, or to raise the minimum age for online sex work.

Folks, are adult men who count down the days until a minor turns 18 absolute creeps? Of course. But even they aren’t committing a crime by signing up for an adult’s OnlyFans.

We’re not sure if Sydney Sweeney and Sabrina Carpenter love Lil Tay name-dropping them like she has

These reactionaries are talking about effectively punishing adult women by no longer allowing them to make money from creeps. And they’re playing right into Project 2025’s hands.

Anyway, while Lil Tay comparing herself to Sydney Sweeney and Sabrina Carpenter may be a bit of a stretch, they are all blonde women. And, now, they’re all successful.

Tay has come a long way since she was a tween posing in homes that she did not own, pretending to flaunt her wealth.

Now she (allegedly) has actual bragging rights.

Brandon Blackstock’s Cause of Death Revealed Days After Tragic Passing

Reading Time: 3 minutes

We have an update on the unfortunate passing of Brandon Blackstock.

As previously reported, the business manager — who was best known throughout Hollywood and the entertainment industry as Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband — passed away last week at the age of 48.

Clarkson is yet to issue a public comment on this tragedy.

According to Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis, meanwhile, Blackstock’s cause of death was melanoma, a form of skin cancer — and the manner of his death was natural causes.

“Brandon Blackstock passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7th under hospice care surrounded by his family,” Hollis said in a statement on August 11.

Blackstock shared children River Rose, 11, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, 9, with the original American Idol winner at the time of his passing.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” his rep said after this sad development. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.”

One day prior, Clarkson alerted fans to Blackstock’s illness for the first time when she placed her Las Vegas residency on pause, although she didn’t reveal the nature of his condition at the time.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” she announced via Instagram on August 6.

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.

“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”

Clarkson and Blackstock got married in October 2013.

During their marriage, Blackstock worked as the singer’s manager… but Clarkson ultimately filed for divorce in June 2020 after nearly seven years as husband and wife.

The pair finalized the proceedings in March 2022 following a messy legal battle that involved Kelly accusing her spouse of stealing money from her because he had not earned the proper license to serve as her manager.

Prior to his relationship with Clarkson, Blackstock was married to Melissa Ashworth from 2001 to 2012. The exes shared daughter Savannah, 23; and son Seth, 18.

“When she found out that he was sick, she remained protective of him for their sake,” a source told People Magazine this week.

“Kelly has always tried to keep things classy. It became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well. She’s been devastated for the kids.”

Continued this insider:

“The divorce was incredibly difficult for her — messy, painful and something she felt terrible about. But she always wanted her kids to have the best relationship possible with their dad. She never spoke poorly about Brandon to the kids.”

Taylor Swift Fans Think She’s About to Make a Major Announcement on Travis …

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Are you ready for it, Swifties?

Believe it or not, there’s reason to believe that Taylor Swift will soon be making her debut appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s popular “New Heights” podcast.

Not only that, many fans are convinced that Taylor is planning to make some sort of major announcement during her appearance.

Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs celebrates with Taylor Swift after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game at M&T Bank Stadium on January 28, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.

A new album? A new tour? An engagement to Travis?!

We’ll have to wait until Wednesday to find out — if any — what sort of announcement Taylor has in store.

But the rumor mill is already churning overtime, and speculation is running rampant.

Why are Swifties anticipating a major announcement?

A word of caution here: We still don’t know for sure that Taylor is planning to appear on “New Heights” this week.

But earlier today, the show’s social media accounts teased a new episode with a “VERY special guest.”

And the accompanying photo seemed to offer a lot of clues:

For starters, based on their silhouette, it looks like the special guest has long hair — Taylor-length hair, you might even say.

And as many, many social media commenters have pointed out, there are other Easter eggs hidden within the pic, as well:

“YALL WEARING TAYLOR SHIRTS. The background is sparkly orange. Oh my god,” one user commented, according to the New York Post.

“The Midnights shirt…the look on Travis’ face….the silhouette,” an X user chimed in, adding, “IM NOT CLOWNING YOURE CLOWNING.”

“I am about to throw up,” a third jokingly (we hope) chimed in.

Keeping it as low-key as possible

For as long as they’ve been dating and as much as we know about their relationship, Taylor and Travis have actually kept their romance surprisingly low-key … or as low-key as possible in a situation where one partner happens to be the most famous woman on the planet.

In fact, Swift and Kelce just made their red carpet debut earlier this summer.

But that doesn’t mean they’ve been hiding anything.

While this might be Taylor’s first appearance on “New Heights,” she’s been a frequent topic of conversation on the show.

Taylor Swift celebrates with Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs after defeating the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship Game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on January 26, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri.

In fact, Travis first mentioned her back in September of 2023, shortly after she attended her first Chiefs game.

“I just thought it was awesome that everybody in the suite had nothing but good things to say about her, the friends, and family,” Kelce gushed at the time.

“She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in great light, and on top of that the day went perfect for the Chiefs.”

Now, with a new football season just weeks away, it looks as though Tay and Trav might be on the verge of something exciting.

Then again, it’s possible that the well-coifed mystery guest is, like, Chiefs fullback Carson Steele … or anyone else with long hair.

Whatever the case, Wednesday can’t get here soon enough!

Newsom again threatens tit-for-tat redistricting

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is warning President Donald Trump and Republican governors that if they go forward with redistricting proposals, he will also implement mid-decade redistricting efforts in his state.

In a letter to the president Monday, Newsom said California “cannot stand idly by” as Texas — and other GOP-led states — attempt to follow Trump’s directive to create Republican-favored congressional maps.

“If you will not stand down, I will be forced to lead an effort to redraw the maps in California to offset the rigging of maps in red states,” Newsom said. “But if the other states call off their redistricting efforts, we will happily do the same. And American democracy will be better for it.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Newsom’s letter comes as the battle over the Texas congressional map has begun to spread to other states, including Indiana.

With Democrats needing to flip just three seats to reclaim a House majority, Trump pressed the Texas Legislature to draw a new map that would give Republicans an additional five congressional seats. Democrats around the nation condemned the effort even as Texas officials began to move forward with a plan. Texas Democrats have left the state to avoid voting on the new map, with some settling indefinitely in California.

Vice President JD Vance, meanwhile, headed to Indiana last week to urge Republicans in the Hoosier state to also create a new map. Separately, Ohio is mandated to redraw districts in the state, while talks are underway in Missouri, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. In total, Republicans could gain 10 or more seats ahead of the midterms.

Newsom on Monday called the efforts “hyper-partisan” and an attempt to “rig” upcoming midterm elections.

“You are playing with fire, risking the destabilization of our democracy, while knowing that California can neutralize any gains you hope to make,” Newsom wrote. “This attempt to rig congressional maps to hold onto power before a single vote is cast in the 2026 election is an affront to American democracy.”

While Democrats have previously threatened to gerrymander their own maps if Republicans move forward with theirs, no moves have been made yet.

In his letter, Newsom said district maps should be drawn by “independent, citizen-led efforts.”

In a Monday afternoon interview with Fox News, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to escalate his state’s redistricting plans if Newsom moves forward with retaliatory redistricting.

“If California thinks they’re going to move their needle to the extreme and eliminate five Republican numbers of the United States Congress there, Texas is not going to do five: We will add 10 more Republican seats using the same procedure they are using in California,” Abbott said.

Jacob Wendler contributed to this report.

Teamsters pour money into GOP, shifting away from Dems

It wasn’t just 2024: the Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien is signaling a more permanent realignment by donating to battleground Republicans in the upcoming midterms.

For the second year in a row, the labor union’s political arm donated to the Republicans’ House campaign arm after nearly two decades of mostly backing Democrats. The labor union’s D.R.I.V.E political action committee — Democrat, Republican, Independent Voter Education — gave the National Republican Congressional Committee $5,000 in the second quarter.

In addition to giving to the NRCC, Teamsters doled out a combined $62,000 in contributions to nearly two-dozen GOP congressional candidates, including in significant battleground districts:

  • Rob Bresnahan, Mike Kelly and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
  • Pete Stauber and Tom Emmer of Minnesota
  • Nicole Malliotakis, Andrew Garbarino, Nick LaLota and Mike Lawler of New York
  • Jefferson Shreve of Indiana
  • Dave Taylor, Bob Latta, Michael Rulli and Dave Joyce of Ohio
  • Jeff Van Drew and Chris Smith of New Jersey
  • David Rouzer of North Carolina
  • Tom Barrett of Michigan
  • Blake Moore of Utah
  • Darin LaHood and Mike Bost of Illinois
  • Troy Nehls of Texas
  • Vern Buchanan of Florida

The group also gave this year to GOP Sens. Deb Fischer of Nebraska, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Jon Husted of Ohio, and Dave McCormick of Pennsylvania.
And it’s not just Congress: the Teamsters’ political arm donated $50,000 to the Republican Attorneys General Association this past June.

“Our members are working people whose interests cut across party lines,” Kara Deniz, a Teamsters spokesperson, told POLITICO. “And there’s no value in living in a bubble … where you only talk to certain people to the exclusion of others.”

The group hasn’t forsaken Democrats — it still gives them more, including $15,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in April.

“Congressional Republicans have betrayed America’s workers and union members by selling out our communities for the GOP’s billionaire backers,” said DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton. “House Democrats will continue to work hard to earn the support of unions and their members who have built this nation and will be critical in our comeback to victory next year.”

But the GOP donations signify a marked shift in the pivotal labor union’s strategy since 2024, when Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien delivered a historic address at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and his outfit began more seriously supporting Republicans.

It comes as O’Brien has sought to reach out beyond the union’s traditional audience — and union members themselves are more open to backing Republicans. He recently hosted Ramaswamy on his podcast, and sat with The Free Press for an interview with Bari Weiss.

And it’s a warning sign for Democrats that their labor support — long a keystone of their base — continues to erode, as President Donald Trump chisels away at it in his effort to remake the GOP as a working-class party.

“Labor unions are finally recognizing the fact that their memberships are made up of workers from across the political spectrum,” said Bresnahan, who received $5,000 from the Teamsters and whose grandfather was a member of the IBEW.

Last year, the Teamsters donated $25,000 to the NRCC and gave $45,000 to the RNC in an effort to diversify their support as their rank-and-file members move rightward.

“Hard-working men and women across the country are rallying behind Republicans up and down the ballot because we fight for their jobs, their families, and their future,” said NRCC spokesperson Mike Marinella. “Democrats have abandoned them for their deeply out of touch, radical policies. We’re bringing these voters home, and they will be key in growing our House majority.”

Mamdani makes Trump his general election target

With help from Amira McKee

Zohran Mamdan is tying his rivals, including two fellow Democrats, to Donald Trump.

MAMDANI’S BIG FOIL: Affordability was at the center of Zohran Mamdani’s primary campaign for New York City mayor. Donald Trump is the focus of his general election bid.

The Democratic nominee launched a five-borough tour “against Trump” on Monday to amplify how he believes the president will bring harm to New York City — and why he thinks he should be elected to lead the vanguard.

He’s also tying opponents Andrew Cuomo, Eric Adams and Curtis Sliwa closely to Trump, adopting a classic Democratic general election playbook by casting two fellow Dems and the GOP nominee as the president’s favored picks.

Mamdani’s recalibration comes as Trump announced he’s activating the National Guard to respond to crime in Washington, D.C., listing New York and Chicago among the cities that could be next in line.

It also follows a New York Times story about how Trump has talked with Cuomo as the president considers involving himself with the election. Cuomo has denied discussing the race with Trump.

“We see far too many parallels between Donald Trump and Andrew Cuomo, far too many stories that make clear that both administrations have been characterized by corruption, by a sense of impunity,” Mamdani told reporters Monday at the offices of 1199SEIU, which endorsed Cuomo in the primary but is backing Mamdani in the general election.

The young state assemblymember who stunned the Democratic establishment by defeating Cuomo in June — despite the former governor’s universal name recognition and a $25 million PAC in his corner — now faces the task of winning the November election by a hefty enough margin to bolster his mandate. Mamdani, a democratic socialist, is still seeking the endorsements of party leaders, including Gov. Kathy Hochul, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

But with or without them, he’s going after Trump — and anyone he argues would be used by Trump against New Yorkers.

He noted Monday that Cuomo conversed with Trump, Adams’ criminal fraud case was dropped at the urging of the Trump administration and that Sliwa shares a political party with the president.

“My administration will be Donald Trump’s worst nightmare,” Mamdani declared just last week, arguing his policies will lift up the same working class voters the president has left behind with cuts to health care and food benefits.

Trump has questioned Mamdani’s citizenship, vowed to arrest him if he interferes with federal agents’ crackdown on illegal immigration and threatened to cut federal funding to New York City if Mamdani doesn’t “do the right thing.”

Cuomo, making another bid for mayor after losing by nearly 13 points in June to Mamdani, has argued that Trump would step all over Mamdani. Cuomo said he already stood up to Trump as governor during the Covid pandemic.

“Trump will flatten him like a pancake,” Cuomo posted on X. (He used another food simile in a June primary debate, saying Trump would cut into Mamdani “like a hot knife through butter.”)

Adams, the incumbent mayor, has said he is not beholden to anyone, including the president. He has insisted that he seeks a working relationship with Trump for the benefit of the city.

And Sliwa, the longshot Republican making a repeat bid for mayor, has no direct relationship with Trump at all. In fact, the GOP nominee has encouraged Trump to stay out of the race for mayor.

“Comrade Mamdani is the American people’s worst nightmare,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson responded Monday, charging that Mamdani’s policies will tank the economy, increase crime and favor undocumented immigrants over American citizens. Emily Ngo

Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Public Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos published test data from the state showing an increase in reading and math scores for public school children in the 2024-2025 school year.

PROGRESS IN READING AND MATH: The nation’s largest school system saw notable gains in reading and math scores this year, but disparities persist among Black, Hispanic and disabled students, according to results announced by New York City officials today.

About 56.3 percent of third through eighth graders were proficient in English during the 2024-25 school year, a 7.2 percentage point increase from the previous year, according to the latest data. Last school year’s figures represented a nearly 3 percentage point decrease from the year before — and coincided with the rollout of a new reading curriculum.

Math scores continued to rise, with 56.9 percent of students meeting standards, compared to 53.4 percent last year and 49.9 percent in 2023.

Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos acknowledged there were some “implementation hiccups” in the beginning.

“These numbers are telling us — both in [NYC] Reads and [NYC] Solves — that we’re heading in the right direction, but work still needs to be done,” she said in an interview. “So this is just fueling us to do better. It’s by no stretch of the imagination a time for us to rest.”

The percentage of Black, Hispanic and English language learners, as well as pupils with disabilities, scoring proficiently remain disproportionately low despite increases.

About 43 percent and 43.1 percent of Black and Hispanic students, respectively, demonstrated mastery of math, compared to 38.4 percent and 39.7 percent the previous year.

Aviles-Ramos called the persistent discrepancies “unacceptable” but also touted the improvements.

“They are huge increases and we beat pre-pandemic levels and so we know that what we’re doing is working,” she said. Madina Touré

Andrew Cuomo is taking aim at Zohran Mamdani for living in a rent-stabilized apartment.

CUOMO’S ZOHRAN LAW PUSH: Cuomo promoted “Zohran’s Law” today, his new plan to block wealthy people from living in rent-stabilized apartments.

His proposal — while clearly political in origin — comes with a big practical question mark: Just how eager would the Democratic-dominated state Legislature be to work with Cuomo to pass such a measure if he were elected mayor?

Cuomo spokesperson Rich Azzopardi said the changes could be enacted if Albany agreed to repeal the Urstadt Law. “If that was successful, we could do that at the city level,” he said.

The law, a measure enacted during Gov. Nelson Rockefeller’s tenure, gives Albany control over rent rules. Progressives have spent decades demanding Urstadt’s repeal, but their push has been met with long odds, with most Albany lawmakers over the past half century hesitant to give up the power to control housing rules, as well as donations from landlords who have historically been the state’s top campaign contributors. Even progressive legislators who’ve supported repeal in the past would likely be hesitant to move forward if it meant giving Cuomo more power.

As governor, Cuomo floated repealing the law when he attempted to force real estate groups to the table during housing talks in 2011, according to testimony in former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos’ corruption trial. But he never publicly championed giving up that power while governor.

“There are people running for governor right now and I don’t know where they stand on Urstadt, including Gov. Cuomo,” then-City Councilmember Jumaane Williams said in 2014. “I would like to know where he stands on repealing Urstadt and bringing Urstadt back to New York City.” — Bill Mahoney
