Chris Lane and his wife Lauren Bushnell Lane just revealed the gender of baby No. 3 — and it’s a girl!
The country singer and his other half, who are already parents to two young boys, Dutton Walker and Baker West, shared the heartwarming news in an Instagram post on Tuesday (July 8).
In the adorable video, the family of four kept things low key as they sat on a picnic blanket in front of their house for the big reveal. Lauren held a tray of cupcakes, each filled with colored frosting to indicate the baby’s gender. Before taking a bite, the family made their guesses: Lauren and the boys predicted another boy, while Chris went out on a limb and said he thought it would be a girl.
It turns out, dad was right.
On the count of three, they all ate a big bite out of the cupcakes to reveal the bright pink frosting, confirming that they will welcome their first daughter.
A look of pure surprise instantly crossed Lauren’s face when she saw the pink color emerge from the dessert.
“I’m in shock,” Lauren said before leaning into her husband for a kiss.
Lane then shouted, “Let’s go. Thank you, Lord.”
The joyful moment continued as they FaceTimed loved ones to share the news. Dutton, already embracing his new role as big brother to a little sister, immediately asked, “What should we call her?” He even suggested the name “Maui.”
This baby girl will be the couple’s third child, and as the caption indicated, it seems that the boys are already more than excited to meet their new sibling.
Chris Lane recently admitted that while he and Lauren were happy with their two sons, she had hopes of eventually adding a little girl to their family.
“Ultimately Lauren, she didn’t feel incomplete with two but she really wanted a girl eventually, but we weren’t guaranteed that. I feel like all boys run in our family and I kept saying if we have a third I know it’s just going to be a boy, that’s just how it goes,” he recently shared on The Bobby Bones Show.
Before they were parents, Chris and Lauren began their love story in 2018 and then tied the knot on October 25, 2019. They welcomed their first son, Dutton Walker Lane, in June of 2021 and their second, Baker West, in October of 2022.
The news of their third pregnancy came at the end of May, when the “What Am I Supposed To Tell The Dog” singer made the announcement using a sweet beachside video. Throughout the footage, the couple is seen soaking up the sun with their sons while Lauren showed off her growing bump.
They also wrote “#3” in the sand, marking the sweet moment as a family of four prepares to become five.

Chris Lane is fresh off his time Rascal Flatts’ sold-out arena tour and also just dropped his brand-new album, Shade Tree on June 20. The personal collection of songs touches on Lane’s signature sound and powerful storytelling that give an authentic look into his real-life experiences.
The project marks his first full album since his 2018’s Laps Around the Sun and features fan-favorites like “What Am I Supposed To Tell The Dog,” “Fire We Found” feat. Abby Anderson,” “If I Die Before You,” and more.

Lainey Wilson recently invited Drew Baldridge to join her for a rendition of “Save Me,” her chart-topping hit with Jelly Roll, and to mark the moment, she gave him fake face tattoos with a Sharpie, replicating Jelly Roll’s signature ink.
During their performance at Hooftbeat Music Festival in Wisconsin, Wilson turned to Baldridge mid-song and joked, “You look a lot like Jelly Roll. We just need to draw you a little teardrop right here.”
Looking around the stage, Wilson asked, “Do you have a permanent marker? Hold up, I’ve got a permanent marker.”
Baldridge appeared to be stunned and questioned, “Are you serious?”
Wilson then drew a teardrop on one side of his face and a cross on the other, teasing, “I’m gonna turn around and think, ‘Jelly Roll, is that you?’”
With his new “tattoos,” Baldridge finished the duet with Wilson, belting the emotional lyrics in unison:
“I’m a lost cause/ Baby, don’t waste your time on me/ I’m so damaged beyond repair/ Life has shattered my hopes and my dreams,” they sang.
Co-written by Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) and David Ray Stevens, Jelly Roll first released a solo version of “Save Me” on his 2020 album, Self Medicated. The track took on new life when he teamed up with Lainey Wilson for a reimagined duet following their surprise performance at the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. The powerful collaboration climbed to No.1 on the country charts in December of 2023, marking Jelly Roll’s third No.1 and Wilson’s fourth on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
After having the chance to sing “Save Me” with Wilson, the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, Baldrdge reflected on the moment on social media.
“The following day Last night was an unforgettable night with @Lainey Wilson 😂 @Jelly Roll you definitely pull the tats off better than me,” he joked.
Lainey Wilson is set to perform at a few more festivals before she launches the U.S. leg of her highly anticipated Whirlwind World Tour. The trek is set to kick off on August 14 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Her new single, “Somewhere Over Laredo,” is at country radio now and will appear on her upcoming Whirlwind Deluxe release.
Drew Baldridge also has a slew of tour dates on the books, including shows with Bailey Zimmerman and various festivals like Watershed, Big Valley Jamboree, and more. Baldridge is working on new music as his single, “Tough People,” continues to impact the charts.

Before she was a Grammy-winning artist and one of the most iconic voices in country music, Trisha Yearwood was just an aspiring artist trying to find her way in the Nashville music scene. At 21 years old instead of spending her time partying, she was working toward her one and only goal of being a successful country singer.
Sitting down with Bobby Bones on an episode of the BobbyCast, Yearwood was asked if she had fun during her first years in town. She replied, “No. I mean, I was in school. I wasn’t a partier. Broadway was just really not a place you went. It was really a dangerous part of town. There wasn’t anything like it is obviously now, and there wasn’t really anywhere to go.”
While attending Belmont University, the Georgia native cut her teeth working as an intern at Mary Tyler Moore Records (MTM Records) and singing in a bowling alley on the weekends. She kept her job at the bowling alley for a few years, performing covers of Linda Ronstadt to Whitney Houston and everything in between.
However, between the long hours, little pay and less than ideal working conditions, Yearwood was ready for a change.
“I started doing demos and I realized that I could get more work,” she explained. “I could get more work in demos if I quit the night job. And also, I sounded like I had smoked two cartons of cigarettes the night before in the morning at a 10 o’clock session. So I finally made the transition and realized I could make a lot more money doing demos even though that was 40 bucks a tune. I did a lot of demos, and I made my own hours, made my own work, and I did really well. So I gave up the bowling alley.”
Never Giving Up On Her Ultimate Goal
While she may have given up the bowling alley gig, Yearwood says she never let go of the big dream that first brought her to Nashville.
“I never did…I always believed that this was what I was supposed to do because I didn’t want to do anything else. I didn’t have a backup plan. I didn’t have a, well, if I can’t be an artist, I want to be in the music industry. That would’ve been torture to be in the music industry and not doing this,” she admitted. “This was all I ever wanted to do.”
She even had the opportunity to get her foot in the door as an artist when she was asked to audition for the band Highway 101 with Paulette Carlson as the lead singer, but ended up pulling out in fear that it would hinder her chances of being a solo act.
“When I got home, I thought, I don’t know if they’re going to offer this to me or not, but I feel like if I take it, I’m stepping into a successful group that no one’s going to be able to be Paulette Carlson or make people forget that it’s such a successful group. And then I’m also kind of saying, well, you believed in yourself your whole life that you could be a solo artist, but now you’re going to give up and do this. And so I sent a letter and said, I’m going to take myself out of the running.”
Entering A New Chapter With ‘The Mirror’
Luckily, this risky decision paid off and Trisha Yearwood eventually landed on her feet as an award-winning solo artist who is now an esteemed member of the Grand Ole Opry. She is also entering a new chapter of her career this year with the release of her highly anticipated new album, The Mirror, arriving July 18 via Virgin Music Group.
Even though Yearwood has been a wildly celebrated singer for years now, songwriting wasn’t always a prominent part of her career. In fact for a long time she stayed away from penning her own music in fear that she wasn’t good enough to keep up with the hitmaking writers in town. But in recent years that has all changed and this new project marks the first time she has fully co-written and co-produced a record.
“’The Mirror’ seemed like the perfect title because for the first time in my career, it truly is a record, a full album of reflection. It really is an album of like, this is who I am, this is who I’ve been.”
Reflecting on how she landed on this title for the project and the personal meaning behind the song itself, she shared, “The hook line is, I’ve always been the girl in the mirror. It’s like she sees herself and she’s like, oh, she looks good. I like what she’s doing. And you don’t realize that’s me. I’m so used to picking myself apart…If we could see ourselves outside ourselves, we would like ourselves a lot more. We work so hard on pulling ourselves apart. So ‘The Mirror,’ that song is really about you’re okay and you need to, I’ve always seen what you’re now finally seeing.”
However these songs fall among her listeners, whether they find their own connection in it or not, Yearwood admits she isn’t worried about the opinions of others because she is truly proud of this project.
Upcoming Performances And Appearances
On the release date of the new album, she is set to perform live from Rockefeller Center as part of TODAY’s 2025 Citi Concert Series. The free concert will take place on the TODAY Plaza at 48th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues in New York City, and is open to the public.
Yearwood will also take the Opry stage in Nashville on July 19 followed by a headline performance at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s Trisha Yearwood and Friends Celebrate Linda Ronstadt and Los Angeles Country-Rock on July 22.

Zach Top brings his latest single, “Good Times & Tan Lines,” to life with a summer-soaked new music video.
Out now, the clip captures Top and a group of friends enjoying a fun-filled day on the lake. The Washington native shows off his wake surfing skills and performs along the waterfront. His dog, Otis, and girlfriend, Amelia Taylor, also make appearances, along with members of his touring band.
The video perfectly matches the feel-good summertime tune, written by Top alongside Carson Chamberlain and Wyatt McCubbin. “Good Times & Tan Lines” was released on June 9 to coincide with his CMA Fest performance and will appear on his highly anticipated new album, Ain’t In It For My Health, due out August 29 via Leo33.
“Good times and tan lines/ Cold beer and summer nights/ That was all there was to life/ Good times and tan lines/ Good, good times and tan lines,” he sings on the chorus.
Brimming with ‘90s country vibes, the song continues Top’s tradition of honoring classic country sounds. It’s hard not to draw comparisons to Alan Jackson’s iconic 1993 hit, “Chattahoochee.” The release follows the success of his first-ever No.1 at country radio with “I Never Lie.”

Country Music Hall of Fame member Ray Stevens is on the mend after undergoing heart surgery. The beloved 85-year-old singer, songwriter, and entertainer was hospitalized last Friday night (July 4) after experiencing chest pain. Following a heart catheterization procedure at a Nashville hospital, doctors confirmed Stevens had suffered a mild heart attack.
The minimally invasive heart surgery took place on the morning of Monday, July 7 and has since been confirmed to be successful. He is expected to make a full recovery after taking some time to rest and rehabilitate.
Stevens’ team announced that in order to fully prioritize his health, all upcoming performances at his West Nashville-based CabaRay Showroom have been canceled through the end of July.

Nelly turned a $50 million payday from selling half his music catalog into a new venture by purchasing and relocating a horse racing team to his hometown.
The Hip-Hop icon, born in St. Louis, acquired the Seattle franchise of the National Thoroughbred League and moved it to Illinois, rebranding the team as the St. Louis Nellies.
The team will make its official debut at the inaugural Nelly Cup on July 19, 2025, at Fairmount Park in Collinsville, Illinois.
“I’m excited to be part of bringing a new professional sports team to the city that means so much to me,” said Nelly. “The St. Louis Cup is set to be one of the summer’s premier events, and I can’t wait to hit the track and celebrate with our incredible St. Louis fans.”
The event will blend sport and entertainment, featuring live music, a fashion show and a trophy presentation by Nelly himself. Admission is free and open to the public.
The move comes after Nelly sold 50 percent of his music catalog to HarbourView Equity Partners for a reported $50 million.
The deal includes some of his most recognizable hits, such as “Hot in Herre,” “E.I.” and others. The catalog spans eight albums from his decades-long career.
By investing in the National Thoroughbred League, Nelly joins a growing list of celebrities entering the sports ownership space.
The league aims to modernize horse racing by combining competition with entertainment, and Nelly’s involvement brings both star power and hometown pride.
Fairmount Park, located just across the Mississippi River in Collinsville, has hosted horse racing for decades and now becomes home to one of the NTL’s newest franchises.

Diddy backed off his push to get sentenced early in a letter his lawyers sent to the court today (July 8) in place of what was supposed to be a virtual hearing on the matter.
Diddy’s lawyers and prosecutors agreed on a schedule leading up to his October 3, 2025 sentencing. Post-verdict motions are due by July 30 and a final pre-sentence report will be filed by September 18.
The disgraced mogul will be sentenced on October 3 following his conviction on two federal charges tied to prostitution-related interstate travel.
The Hip-Hop mogul was found guilty on July 2, after a seven-week trial but acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking involving Cassie Ventura and another woman referred to as “Jane.”
He was also cleared of a racketeering conspiracy count.
Despite avoiding the most severe allegations, Diddy still faces up to 20 years in prison although most legal experts believe he will serve no more than four years.
Last week, Diddy’s legal team had requested that the court expedite his sentencing date and consider granting release based on his personal and family circumstances.
“Mr. Combs has 18-year-old twin daughters, as well as a 27-year-old son with no other living parent,” his attorneys wrote in a court filing. “Mr. Combs’s mother is 85 years old. She suffers from various health conditions. For example, she was hospitalized in July 2024 for a heart condition and had brain surgery the previous year. She lives near Mr. Combs in Florida and she would like him to be her primary caretaker.”
They also noted that Combs has a 3-year-old daughter and has already served nearly 10 months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, which they described as having “notoriously problematic conditions.”
Federal prosecutors strongly opposed the request, arguing that the law mandates detention after conviction for the crimes Combs was found guilty of. They also cited his history of violence toward women as a reason to deny release.
Cassie Ventura’s legal team also weighed in, urging the court to keep Combs in custody.
“Detention is mandatory post-conviction on these charges, and Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community,” her attorneys stated.
