Cody Johnson Shares Clever Way Wife Brandi Told Him She Was Pregnant With Their Son

Cody Johnson claims that if all goes as planned, he and his wife Brandi are just about three months away from welcoming their third child and first baby boy into their family. The couple announced the big news back in May when they stepped onto the red carpet for the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards. While posing for photos, it was evident that Brandi had a baby bump showing through her silky gown.

According to Johnson, this surprise red carpet announcement was all his idea.

“Jessie, my publicist, best publicist in the world. She’s like, ‘We need to figure out a way to release this.’ And I was like, ‘I think when she shows up at the ACMs and she looks like she’s smuggling a volleyball in her dress, it’s gonna be pretty obvious’… what better way to do it,” the Texas native told host Cody Alan on  SiriusXM’s The Highway

That same night, he also dropped the news that they are expecting a son. The couple are already parents to two daughters – Clara Mae, born in 2015, and Cori, who arrived in 2017, meaning this will be the first little boy to join their family.

Inside The Big Night

Cody Johnson appeared to be overjoyed to learn the gender, but he was more excited about the fact that their little one got to be a part of that memorable night. Johnson went into the 2025 ACM Awards the most nominated Texas artist with seven nods, which marks the most ACM nominations he’s received in one single year. He was also tied with Morgan Wallen for the most nominations of any male artist this year. In the end, he took home the win for Song of the Year for his song “Dirt Cheap.”

“He’ll grow up and be like, “Oh, I was there.” I’m like, “Yeah, you were there when I won Song of the Year,” Johnson said of his baby boy. “But we’re extremely happy. October 25th is kind of our projected, but we’ll see. This, you know, it never really goes as planned.”

The Moment Johnson Learned Of The Pregnancy

Before the world knew about their big secret, Brandi had to come up with a way to tell her other half. Johnson explained that the clever way she went about it was simple yet effective and allowed them to celebrate as a family.

“So Brandi did this weird thing where she was like, she texted me, she ran to town and she’s like, ‘Hey, can you come out to the barn and help me unload my truck?’ And I was like, ‘Okay.’ Like, you know, I go out there and it’s this like little bitty box and I’m like, ‘You 100% could have done this yourself.’ And so I unload the box and she’s like, ‘Oh, and I do have one more thing in there if you can get that.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay.’ It’s this little bitty box,” Johnson recalled. “I unload it and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. And she’s like, ‘Oh, by the way, here you can have this too.’ And it was a pregnancy test.”

Telling Their Girls

After the initial shock settled in, Cody Johnson says his first thought was when they were going to let their girls in on the exciting news. It turned out that he wasn’t the only one who was beyond excited about their upcoming arrival.

“I’m like, ‘Are we gonna tell the girls? Like, when do we tell them? Are we waiting?’ You know. And Clara, my oldest, we call her the cry police because if you ever like tear up over a movie or something, she’ll look you up and down. She’s like, ‘Are you crying?’…yeah, I was crying…And she burst into tears, happy though, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna be a big sister.’ And then Cori does it too, so that’s awesome.”

He continued, “They’re all, they keep calling it our baby. ‘Well when our baby gets here, when our baby we are.’ And I’m like, ‘This is not a we, y’all are still kids.’ But then it hit me. I’ve built in babysitters. Clara’s 10, Cori’s eight. So like, this boy is screwed.”

Daydreaming About Life With A Little Boy

The “I’m Gonna Love You” singer is already daydreaming about all the stuff he’s gonna get to do with their little boy. Growing up, he says he didn’t have the chance to live the cowboy life right away, so now that the baby’s being born into right onto a ranch, he’s pumped to get to share that way of life with his son.

“I didn’t get to live the cowboy life for a long time. I had to kind of earn my way to the point where I could afford to say, ‘We’re gonna go buy a ranch and we’re doing this,’” Johnson explained. “So the fact that he’s gonna be born on, you know, into a cattle ranch, that’s gonna be cool, man. He’s gonna be the little, I promise you, the little buckaroo riding around with six shooters on.”

Cody Johnson and his wife’s love story began back when they were teenagers. She actually spotted him first, back when he was still riding bulls, and it took a few years before he noticed her and they finally met. Once they did, things moved fast. They moved in together just a month after their first date and got engaged a year later. They’ve been married since 2008.

The country superstar is currently on the road, with a slew of dates in the fall, two of which fall on the weekend of their baby’s due date. However following an October 31 show in Gonzales, LA, Johnson only has two more dates on the books for 2025, leaving him plenty of time to spend at home as they adjust to becoming a family of five.

Walker Hayes Details The Turning Point In Life That Inspired His Most Honest Album Yet

Walker Hayes has found himself to be at a turning point in his life where he’s still figuring out how to raise his house full of kids while simultaneously battling with the emotions that came with losing his father. He reveals that these two experiences have forced him to reflect on moments that have shaped not just his outlook on his life journey, but also his latest set of music.

“I think you can tell I’m in the middle of losing my dad and raising kids. I’m at that corner of the road in life when you’re looking back on your childhood – you can see it as clear as you ever have – but you’re looking down the barrel of raising kids and keeping your family together,” he shared honestly in a new Instagram post.

As a result of this current journey that Hayes is working his way through, he has built a brand-new album that he says is “very reflective” of his past, present and future and the new perspective he’s discovered through this chapter of reflection.

“The songs have this ‘in retrospect’ feeling, and then also, ‘what does the future look like? How do I do this?”

His new album, 17 Problems, is set to drop August 22 via RCA Records. This collection of songs is expected to be made up of unfiltered stories and raw emotions that stem from personal trials and triumphs in Walker Hayes’ life. He’s caught between feeling closer to his past and facing the weight of an uncertain future and rather than deliver a polished highlight reel, 17 Problems embraces the doubts, memories, and the tough questions.

The first taste of that the project arrived with “17 Year Old Problems,” a stripped-down, emotional track that finds the Alabama native looking back on his teenage years and the problems that now seem so menial.

This marked the first new music from Hayes so far this year, and there’s plenty more on the way. The remaining 15 tracks are still under wraps, but he’s made it clear how grateful he is for the collaborators who helped bring the project to life.

“So grateful for all the writers that contributed to this project. I’m not the easiest writer to write with,” he joked in a new post. “but all of these folks were extremely patient and contributed so much to each of these songs. It was extremely difficult to narrow down the final 17 but I love every one on this project. Creating with people constantly reminds me how creative God is. Write a song with someone and you will learn so much about each other. So much gratitude for kindred spirits that wake up wanting to chase a song every single day. It is torture at times but we are suckers for the pain. Big shout to the writers! 🙏💪”

Walker Hayes is currently serving as direct support on Brad Paisley’s Truck Still Works World Tour, with dates running through August 3.

Jason Aldean’s Youngest Kids Make A Sweet Cameo On Stage In Salt Lake City

On July 26, Jason Aldean took the stage at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater in Salt Lake City as part of his current headline run, the Full Throttle world tour. As the night came to a close, Aldean treated fans to a rare and special moment by inviting his two youngest children, Memphis, 7, and Navy, 6, up on stage for a final goodbye.

A clip of this heartwarming moment was captured and shared to TikTok by 93.3 The Bull, giving fans a glimpse into the personal side of the country star’s tour life on the road. In the video, Aldean is seen holding his kids close while encouraging the massive crowd to cheer for his special guests. Both Memphis and Navy gave a shy wave to the fans before Aldean scooped them up and led them offstage.

Also waiting in the wings was Aldean’s wife, Brittany, who was captured in another fan video watching the sweet family moment unfold. With his children safely by her side, Aldean turned back to the audience for one last wave as his band’s powerful guitar and drum solos faded, signaling the official end of the show.

This was a rare moment for the country star as his children aren’t often seen joining him on stage. Aldean’s other half also gave fans a peek into their life on the road with a carousel of photos on Instagram from their recent “western weekend.” Among the images was a heartfelt shot of their children sharing the stage with their dad at another show, showcasing the close-knit family relationship they have on and off the stage.

Jason Aldean has made it known that family is a top priority in his life and he’s lucky enough to often have them out on the road with him. As the kids grow older, the “Whiskey Drink” singer says they are starting to have a better n understanding of his life as a country star.

During a recent interview on The Bobby Bones Show, he opened up about this topic, and joked that despite his nationwide success, he will always be just “dad” to Memphis and Navy.

“I think they get it. I think it’s just different. I mean when they’re your kids, I mean your dad, you may do something cool, but at the end of the day they don’t care,” he told the show’s host, Bobby Bones.

This honest reflection shows how Aldean has learned to balance his role as a father with his life in the spotlight. He also expressed his hope that his children will one day appreciate the life and work he’s put in to set them up for the best possible futures.

“They don’t know any different, to them it’s very normal and whatever. So I hope they think I’m cool and part of the legacy I want to leave is for them and their families and all that stuff. And so if they don’t think it’s cool yet, I hope they will at some point,” he added.

The Georgia native recently announced the expansion of his Full Throttle tour into 2026, with new dates added across New Zealand and Australia.

The international leg will kick off on February 19, 2026 at Spark Arena in Auckland. From there, he will deliver six Australian headlining shows across Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and more with Corey Kent serving as a special guest.

Jason Aldean’s next stop on the tour will take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, on Thursday, August 7.
