Trina Braxton is grieving over the loss of her husband.
Early Thursday morning, Von Scales died.
After almost seven years of marriage, with much of their relationship appearing on Braxton Family Values and The Braxtons, this loss is hitting home for the entire family.

Von Scales has died.
In a statement to TMZ, a representative for the Braxton family made a formal announcement.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Von Scales,” the statement began, “beloved husband of Trina Braxton.”
The rep added: “The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers but is asking for privacy at this time.”
According to the statement, the family wants a measure of privacy “as they navigate this unfortunate event.”
According to that same report, Von passed away at around 2 AM on Thursday morning in Atlanta.
He had apparently been grappling with health problems pertaining to his heart.
However, Von’s actual cause of death remains unknown.
He and Trina had been married since 2019.
Our hearts go out to the entire Braxton family and to Von’s other loved ones.

Von Scales is not Trina Braxton’s first husband. Tragically, he is not her first husband to have died.
In 2003, the singer and reality TV personality amrried Gabriel “Gabe” Solis, an Air Force veteran and software developer.
The two separated ten years later, finalizing their divorce in 2015.
Solis would later die on December 20, 2018, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was only 43.
Just days before the March 2018 Season 6 premiere of Braxton Family Values, Trina and Von became engaged in Napa Valley.
In December 2019, they married.
The wedding appeared on the family’s reality TV series.
Von Scales was only 58 at the time of his death.

Earlier this week, we reported that Sean “Diddy” Combs has been drinking Hennessy, using a cell phone, and generally living the gpd life behind bars.
Now, TMZ is reporting that Diddy is back in solitary confinement — and this time, it reportedly has nothing to do with a prison fight.
The music mogul has been returned to the Special Housing Unit at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey following a report about his alleged VIP treatment behind bars.
And if the allegations are accurate, “VIP treatment” might actually be putting it mildly.
Sources told NBC that Combs allegedly had other inmates cooking his meals, cleaning his bathroom, making his bed and doing his laundry. He was reportedly treated to meals including pizza, curry chicken and empanadas.
There were also allegations that he received massages from fellow inmates and had access to contraband alcohol.
Perhaps most notably, NBC reported that Combs allegedly had access to a contraband cellphone. Sources claimed he used the phone to browse Instagram and view sexually explicit photos reportedly sent by a former girlfriend.
Now prison officials are apparently taking a closer look.
According to TMZ, returning an inmate to the Special Housing Unit can be standard procedure while prison officials conduct an investigation. So, Combs’ placement in solitary confinement does not establish that the allegations against him are true.
It is, however, an unfortunate development for someone whose prison stay has already included a previous trip to “the hole.”
Combs was placed in solitary confinement in July after an alleged altercation with another inmate. He was eventually released from the Special Housing Unit in August and returned to the general population.
The Bureau of Prisons has declined to discuss Combs’ individual circumstances, citing privacy, safety and security concerns. Its representatives have acknowledged that contraband — including cellphones, drugs and weapons — remains an ongoing challenge inside federal facilities.
Meanwhile, a representative for Combs has pushed back against the media attention surrounding his life in prison, saying that he continues to serve his sentence within the rules while awaiting a decision on his appeal.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts related to transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
His projected release date is currently January 21, 2028.
For now, though, it looks like Diddy’s prison accommodations have gotten considerably less comfortable.

Rapper Rick Ross is in police custody in Florida after turning himself in.
His charges include battery and a more serious battery by strangulation charge.
Information is still coming to light, but it appears that the allegations include a brutal domestic assault.
The rapper is maintaining that he is innocent, despite his arrest history and the harrowing photos of alleged injuries.
Rick Ross surrendered to police on Thursday morning
On the morning of Thursday, October 1, rapper Rick Ross (whose real name is William Roberts II) started spooky season on a sour note.
Authorities arrested him on charges of both misdemeanor battery and felony battery by strangulation, TMZ reports.
He is currently behind bars in Miami-Dade County jail.
In Ross’ booking photo, viewers can see that he’s wearing a very stylish and vibrant button-down shirt over a black undershirt.
The battery by strangulation charge has him locked away on a $5,000 bond. The lesser battery charge has only a $1,000 bond.
Gravely, it appears that both charges are related to domestic violence.
Last week, his ex-girlfriend took to social media to share photos with apparent injuries.
She says that these were injuries that she suffered at Ross’ hands.
It was not immediately clear if the charges that he is facing are for alleged violence towards her. (However, we soon learned that they were. Details are below.)
If Ross cannot arrange for release on bond, he’s in for a long wait — as his arraignment is scheduled for October 22.

The details of the allegations behind the charges are very serious
In an update, TMZ shared that Rick Ross’ ex-girlfriend identified an August 28 incident as she pressed charges.
According to what she told police, she was asleep at their shared home.
Ross then allegedly woke her up in a jealous rage — rage ignited, it seems, by a photo on social media in which she had been tagged.
She told investigators that he questioned her and then slapped him in the face.
Every time that she denied cheating on him, he allegedly struck her again — in the chest and in the face.
According to the police report, Ross choked her until she could not breathe.
He also allegedly grabbed her ponytail and slammed her against a wall.
In the context of this new information, a $6,000 bond seems like a pretty clear indicator of how little our society cares about the most heinous of crimes.
Ross is legally innocent until proven guilty. His attorney claims that his client is factually innocent, as well.
We will be sure to keep an eye on this harrowing story as it unfolds.
