Carrie Underwood Goes Back to Her Roots With a Stunning New Hair Color

Carrie Underwood is going back to her roots, literally, with a brand-new hair color inspired by her natural locks.

The country superstar debuted the eye-catching transformation late Monday evening with a carousel of photos on Instagram, showing off her fresh “bronde” look.

“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance,” Underwood captioned the post.

She also gave a shoutout to her stylist, Katelin at Parlour 3 in Brentwood, Tennessee, for “helping me get back to my roots!”

Parlour 3 is owned by Underwood’s longtime hair and makeup artist Melissa Schleicher, who has been with the singer since her very first Grand Ole Opry appearance following American Idol.

Fans seem to be loving the change. The post has already racked up nearly 300,000 likes and thousands of comments from friends and followers alike.

Underwood has kept a low profile since finishing her stint as a judge on the most recent season of American Idol,  a full-circle moment nearly two decades after she won Season 4 back in 2005.

Since the season ended, Underwood has given fans a glimpse into life on her farm, from showing off her giant tomatoes to posting photos of homemade muffins, fresh-baked bread, and her beloved farm animals.

She will soon make her return to the stage with a performance at Voices of America Country Music Fest on August 8. She’s also confirmed to return to the Grand Ole Opry on September 12 and 13.

Soon, Underwood will make her return to television with her 13th consecutive season performing the show-opening NBC’s Sunday Night Football

Underwood filmed the new Sunday Night Football open at The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, the same venue where she made history with her record-breaking residency, REFLECTION. Spanning over three years with sold-out shows through April 2025, it stands as the longest-running Las Vegas residency by a solo female country artist.

“For the 20th season of SNF, we wanted to set the tone for the night by reimagining the anthem sound in a way that plays to Carrie’s powerhouse vocals, while visually creating a seamless blend of stylized shots and behind-the-scenes moments evoking the national roadshow that is Sunday Night Football, week after week in the fall,” Tripp Dixon, creative director of the SNF show open for each of the past 13 years, shared.

“We had a blast shooting the new opening at The Resorts World Theatre again,” Underwood said. “As always, Tripp and the creative team continue to raise the bar, bringing the high energy and stunning visuals that the Sunday Night Football audience has come to expect year after year. I can’t wait for the world to see it!”

Fans will have to wait until Sunday, Sept. 7 to see the debut of the Sunday Night Football show opening. The new show open will premiere ahead of the Ravens-Bills playoff rematch in the SNF season opener on NBC and Peacock.

RaeLynn Revisits The Moment That Sparked Her Country Music Career Ahead Of Milestone Bridgestone Arena Show

RaeLynn is feeling all the emotions as she prepares to deliver a milestone show at Nashville’s iconic Bridgestone Arena just 14 years after her dreams of becoming a country artist first began.

It all started on September 17th 2011, when the songstress found herself walking around the streets of Lower Broadway the same night that Taylor Swift was playing a sold-out show on her Speak Now Tour. At the time, it seemed impossible that she would ever get the chance to take the stage at the same venue that Swift and so many iconic acts have played over the years. Now, on Thursday, August 7, she will finally get the chance to have that long-awaited moment while opening for Jason Aldean on his Full Throttle Tour.

Feeling more motivated than ever, she returned home to Texas and let that inspiration kickstart her dream career. For RaeLynn, this upcoming performance is proof that “great things take time.” She took to Instagram just a few days before to reflect on her journey up until this point, and that memorable night that started it all.

“I remember my cousin daring me to sing karaoke in the front while everybody was walking in and of course I said YES,” she recalled of that monumental night. “That moment started a fire in me to figure out what my future would look like as a country artist and right when I got home to Texas from this trip I began writing more than I ever had and sending emails to random people in the industry sorry if you got an email from Racheal Lynn 😂”

The Instagram post begins with a snapshot from that spontaneous karaoke performance, where a giant Taylor Swift photo op can be seen behind her. The second image captured RaeLynn posing with the iconic Elvis Presley statue located on Lower Broadway outside the Legends Gifts store, just a few feet away from Bridgestone Arena. Alongside those photos, she set the entire post to a track off 2018’s Origins project, “Praying For Rain.”

This powerful tune perfectly sums up RaeLynn’s never-give-up attitude that has always been guided by her daily prayers.

She goes on to say that she prayed every day, something she still does today, for God to open the right doors for her music career. Not long after, RaeLynn returned to Nashville for meetings with ASCAP, which led to her very first co-write in town. That co-write helped her land an audition for The Voice, and just one year later, she officially made the move to Music City as a signed artist.

“THAT TRULY IS ONLY SOMETHING GOD COULD DO. Now here we are 14 YEARS LATER and I get to play @bridgestonearenaofficial with @jasonaldean ❤️”

The “Heaven Is A Honky Tonk” singer ended her reflective message by telling her fellow dreamers, “don’t give up on what your heart is telling you. I am so grateful for the journey that led to this moment. SEE YOU THURSDAY NASHVILLE 😢💋”

RaeLynn will continue serving as a special guest on the remainder of the U.S. leg of Aldean’s current headline run. Her final performance on the trek will take place in West Palm Beach, FL on October 4.

Roman Alexander Reveals Track List For New EP, ‘Midwest Calling’

Roman Alexander is heading back to his roots on his upcoming EP, Midwest Calling. Today, the rising country act revealed the tracklist for the project that’s set to be released August 22 via Twelve6 Entertainment.

Throughout the six songs, Alexander delivers stories that offer a raw and honest reflection of small-town life, heartbreak, and the kind of memories that stick around long after the moment has passed. Fans can expect to hear his signature blend of emotional storytelling and smooth country soul front and center among his unmatched vocals.

Roman Alexander; Midwest Calling

Speaking on the upcoming collection, Alexander describes Midwest Calling as a project that “feels like home – not always in a comforting way, but in the most honest way.”

He steps back into his upbringing in Missouri to share bits and pieces of his life through these real-life stories told from the perspective of someone who can never quite shake their inner Midwesterner.

“I grew up in the Midwest, and these songs come from late nights and conversations you don’t forget. Some are about breakups that didn’t go the way you planned; others are about trying to make sense of life when it’s not all mapped out,” he shares. “The Midwest has a way of pulling you back, even when you think you’ve moved on. That’s what this EP is about – stories that keep calling you back.”

The project features contributions from a powerhouse lineup of Nashville writers, including GRAMMY nominees Jessi Alexander, Brad Tursi, Trevor Rosen, and Casey Brown, plus hitmakers John Morgan, Josh Kerr, and Will Bundy. Roman himself is credited on five of the six tracks, further cementing his talent not just as a vocalist, but as an established songwriter.

Midwest Calling Track List:

  1. “Tying One On” | Jessi Alexander, John Morgan, Will Bundy
  2. “Way Over You” | Jenn Scott, Matt McVaney, Roman Alexander
  3. “Mama Smoked Cigarettes” | Josh London, McCoy Moore, Roman Alexander
  4. “Country Dreamin’” | Trevor Rosen, Roman Alexander, Brad Tursi, Matt Jenkins
  5. “Pour You a Drink” | Roman Alexander, Casey Brown, Josh Kerr, Jordan Minton, Travis Wood
  6. “Life Like” | Roman Alexander, Nicole Croteau, Frank Legeay

Fans have already gotten a taste of the EP through three advanced releasees of songs including “Tying One On,” “Life Like,” and his latest track, “Pour You a Drink.” Each of these tunes have helped build anticipation for the full project.

“Pour You A Drink” has quickly become a fan favorite, with its music video racking up nearly a quarter of a million views in just three weeks.

Reflecting on the song’s fast success, Alexander shares, ‘Pour You a Drink’ is one of those songs that came from real life, like most of mine. It’s about recognizing when someone deserves better and having the courage to say it out loud. Sometimes it’s simple: she wasn’t being treated right, and I had a barstool, a bottle, and the kind of attention he forgot to give her.”

Midwest Calling marks Roman’s third EP and continues building momentum for the breakout artist, whose catalog is already collectively earned almost 100 million global streams.

Right before we walk out on stage, we always take a moment to pray together as a team. Then, in our pre-show huddle, we put our hands in the middle and say, “1, 2, 3, yippee-ki-yay!” It’s our little tradition, and it always gets my heart racing in the best way. I get so excited every single time—ready to worship and give it all for Jesus!

Latto Mocked Online After Failing $2K Donald Trump Riddle Challenge

Latto got more than just a diamond chain during a recent trip to a celebrity jeweler — she also walked away with a viral moment that had social media in stitches after flubbing a riddle about Donald Trump.

During a video posted Monday (August 4), the Atlanta rapper stopped by Jewelry Unlimited to treat herself to a custom piece.

But before she could finalize the purchase, the jeweler tossed her a brain teaser with a $2,000 discount on the line.

“The 45th president of the USA and the 47th president of the USA they both have the same parents. How is that possible?” he asked.

Latto took a moment to put on her glasses before attempting to solve it. “Hold on. These make me smarter,” she joked.

Unfortunately, the eyewear didn’t help.

Visibly puzzled, she rubbed her forehead and rolled her eyes at the mention of “president,” before offering her answer.

“They got the same parents because God made us all, and we all got the same parents,” she said. “Because we’re not on the 47th president yet.”

The jeweler eventually revealed the answer: Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States and now serving again as the 47th.

Latto groaned and replied, “Too bad.”

@jewelryunlimited Latto almost had this question in the bag 😂😂 #latto #jewelryunlimited #foryou #fyp @Big Mama @aminlalani70 ♬ original sound – Jewelry Unlimited Wafi

The clip quickly made the rounds online, with commenters piling on.

“Take them glasses off,” one user wrote. Another added, “Wtf be going on in those Atlanta schools lmao.” A third chimed in, “My crush on Latto is gone.”

Latto Shows Off New Diamond Pendant & Chain

Despite the brain freeze, Latto still walked out with her new bling — a diamond-encrusted “A” pendant paired with a 75-pointer tennis chain. Jewelry Unlimited shared a photo of the piece on Instagram, captioned, “@latto putting on for the city with a clean Atlanta Braves A pendant with 75 pointer tennis chain.”

A post shared by Jewelry Unlimited (@jewelryunlimited)

While the pendant may nod to the Braves, it more likely represents her first name, Alyssa.

Latto revealed the jewelry was a personal gift to commemorate the one-year anniversary of her third studio album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, which dropped on August 9, 2024. The project debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200, matching the peak of her 2023 album 777 and cementing her highest chart position yet.

Eve Reflects On Nicki Minaj’s Encouragement Following Memoir Revelations

Eve said her emotional exchange with Nicki Minaj was the final push she needed to believe she made the right call by opening up about her insecurities in her memoir, especially the chapter about their time filming Barbershop.

During a sit-down with Complex, Eve called the viral moment “another confirmation” that she was right to be honest about her feelings, even if they were uncomfortable.

“I’m so happy that that happened,” she said, reflecting on Nicki’s heartfelt public response.

In the book, Eve admitted she felt insecure when Nicki joined the cast of Barbershop, revealing she debated whether to include that part of her story at all.

Ultimately, she chose transparency, saying insecurities are something everyone faces, “no matter what”.

A post shared by Complex Music (@complexmusic)

Minaj’s response came last September in the form of a lengthy and emotional letter.

She praised Eve’s honesty, writing, “You took the game by storm, that there were some ppl who couldn’t hide their insecurities. Even tho it’s swept under the rug now, I remember that you handled it with grace but ALSO a big sprinkle of unapologetic TALENT & charisma. You soared & soared. Classic music w/the illest team, to the BIG SCREEN.”

Nicki Minaj also opened up about her own nerves during filming and admitted she thought Eve didn’t like her at first.

“You looked like a pro & I admired that so much,” she wrote. “Women feel so much pressure to compete & it’s a shame b/c we usually have so much in common & could rlly benefit from one another just as human beings.”

Jeezy Credits Hero Uber Driver For Saving Baltimore Concert After Travel Disaster

Jeezy made it to his Baltimore show with just minutes to spare thanks to a ten-hour Uber ride that turned a travel nightmare into a tour-saving mission.

The Hip-Hop veteran shared the wild journey in an Instagram post on Monday (August 4), detailing how a canceled flight, a busted gas tank and a last-ditch ride-share effort nearly derailed his TM:101 Live tour stop at The Lyric Baltimore.

“Ten hours later, we arrived in Baltimore just ten minutes before showtime!” Jeezy wrote, crediting an Uber driver named Tanner for stepping up when all other options failed.

The chaos began when inclement weather grounded Jeezy’s flights to both Baltimore and Washington, D.C. The team was forced to pivot to a road trip. But two hours into the drive, disaster struck.

“We hit an object on the highway, puncturing the gas tank and causing fuel to leak everywhere,” Jeezy explained. “We pulled over to a small gas station to regroup in SC.”

Attempts to book a private jet were also blocked by bad weather, so the team called an Uber to reach a rental car location. That’s when Tanner entered the picture.

“I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it,” Jeezy said. “Like real one, he didn’t hesitate and just kept driving.”

Tanner drove Jeezy straight to Baltimore, logging ten hours behind the wheel and arriving just in time for the curtain to rise.

As a thank-you, Jeezy gave him a Snowman t-shirt and brought him backstage as his personal guest.

“Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!” Jeezy wrote alongside a video of him recounting the story onstage.

Dez Bryant Apologizes For Nicki Minaj Feud But She Continues To Flip Out

Dez Bryant hopped back online to clean up the digital drama after his unexpected back-and-forth with Nicki Minaj exploded all over Twitter (X).

The ex-NFL star admitted he lost his cool and said he’s trying to be a better example for the younger crowd watching him.

“I’m not in the sphere of people crashing out on the internet,” he tweeted. “I don’t bother people..I never do. I was just posting about my son. I let the devil win that time…I apologize to the kids who follow me because I care about setting the right example more than you know.”

It didn’t take long for 50 Cent to take notice of Minaj’s response, which was just as savage as the others.

“(This tweet is alleged & for entertainment purposes only),” she began. “As a matter of fact, let me go call President Trump & ask for a pardon like DESIREE PEREZ did. Next, I’ll get into the CASINO stuff. Dez Bryant’s booty hole allegedly LEAKS as AN ADULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should I start my story times now?!?”

50 wrote in the comment section, “WTF going on here Nikki be blacking out on these people LOL.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by 50 Cent (@50cent)

The contentious exchange started after Bryant got into it with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones over contract talk drama from 2015.

Jones dredged up Bryant’s old deal, which was handled by Roc Nation, and used it to explain why he doesn’t mess with agents and prefers to deal directly with players.

Jones claimed JAY-Z and Roc Nation ghosted him during the negotiations and stopped picking up the phone.

Bryant wasn’t feeling that and hopped on social media to fire back, warning Jones to keep his name out his mouth or else he’d start airing out old Cowboys business.

Bryant and Roc Nation both called Jones’ version of events bogus. They said it was Jones who went MIA during the talk—not JAY-Z’s team.

That’s where Nicki Minaj jumped in.

She has been feuding with Roc Nation and took the opportunity to side with Jerry Jones by bringing up Bryant’s 2012 run-in with the law involving his mom—charges that were later tossed.

She also threw out a $10 million dare, offering the cash if Bryant would fight her husband, Kenneth Petty, who’s a registered sex offender from a 1995 conviction.

“I’ll give you 10 million in cash if you’d come & fight him since you BEAT UR OWN MOM,” Minaj posted.

Bryant fired right back, calling out Petty’s criminal history and didn’t mince words.

“Go get that 10 million in cash.. I’ll stomp that n#### out right in front of you.. and it’s ROC for life b####,” he wrote.

Eventually, Bryant hit pause on the chaos and ended on a motivational note.

“I want everybody to stop and think for 5 minutes,” he said. “You can make it through anything if you put your mind to it..no matter how big the battle is..no excuses.”

Soulja Boy Catches Big Break Following Latest Arrest

Soulja Boy walked free Tuesday (August 5) after prosecutors in Los Angeles declined to pursue charges tied to his weekend arrest for allegedly possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

“A case was declined due to insufficient evidence,” a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in an email to Rolling Stone. Jail records show the 35-year-old rapper was released shortly before 2 p.m. local time.

The arrest happened early Sunday (August 3) after Los Angeles police pulled over a car Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Cortez Way, was riding in. Officers booked him on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to an LAPD spokesperson. Authorities did not provide details about what prompted the traffic stop.

The stop occurred near Melrose Avenue, not far from the storefront for Way’s SODMG clothing brand.

The arrest added to a growing list of legal issues for the “Crank That” rapper. In April, a jury awarded $4 million in damages to a former girlfriend who accused him of assault, sexual battery and harassment. He was also convicted in 2014 for carrying a loaded weapon in a vehicle following an arrest in the San Fernando Valley.

He has yet to publicly comment on the latest incident.

Soulja Boy rose to fame in 2007 with his viral hit single “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” which became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and sparked a widespread dance craze.

Soulja Boy was among the first artists to leverage the power of social media platforms like MySpace and YouTube to promote his music, helping to shift how the music industry discovered and marketed talent.

His debut album, Souljaboytellem.com, helped define the sound and style of late-2000s rap.

Beyond music, Soulja Boy has pursued entrepreneurial ventures, including fashion lines, video game consoles, and tech investments. Despite ongoing debates over his legacy, Soulja Boy remains an influential and controversial figure known for his innovation in music promotion and digital branding.
