A couple of years ago, the world first heard a claim that Queen Elizabeth was furious over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s choice.
They named their daughter after her.
Now, the alleged miscommunication and a description of the late monarch’s reaction to the name are sending shockwaves online.
Why did Elizabeth allegedly throw a paper in “disgust” at the name?

On June 4, 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their second child, Princess Lilibet.
The duke and duchess shared shortly after her birth that the late queen fully endorsed the name, which was her own childhood nickname.
(Even The Crown viewers know that many family members called her this, beginning in childhood.)
However, that account has been in dispute following Harry’s grandmother’s death.
A royalist is sharing how Elizabeth allegedly learned about Lilibet’s name, and her dramatic, visceral reaction.
Royal historian Robert Jobson put forward the claim that Elizabeth was unhappy in The Windsor Legacy.
Now, on The Royalist Substack, he’s sharing precise details of her alleged reaction.
“They did have a conversation, but they didn’t say Lilibet,” he claimed. “They said, ‘We’re going to name our daughter after you.’”
According to Jobson, “And the queen went, ‘How lovely,’ thinking that the daughter would be named Elizabeth.”
Apparently, it took a newspaper headline for the late monarch to learn her great-granddaughter’s name.
“When she found out it was Lilibet, my sources said she only read about it in the paper,” Jobson claimed of Queen Elizabeth II.
“And she threw it on the floor in disgust,” he alleged.
“She was really upset,” Jobson explained.
He continued: “Because she said, that’s my name, that my father and my grandfather used to call me, and it was unique to me.”
Some cultures have a custom of always naming children after a living relative. Other cultures have a custom of literally never doing this. It sounds like, if this is true, this incident was merely a miscommunication.
It is unfortunate that, following Elizabeth’s death, a number of people have come out of the woodwork to portray her as a rancid, awful person.
Certainly, as ceremonial Head of State for the UK and as head of the British monarchy, she represented many abhorrent things.
But despite Prince Philip’s reputation and some anecdotes about his behavior, there are stories — even small, anonymous ones that did not originate with the royal PR machine — of Elizabeth showing extraordinary kindness.
(And, by all accounts, Harry was her favorite grandchild; the two indisputably shared a special bond.)
Following her death, ostensibly pro-royal individuals have come forward with claims that portray her as cruel and petty towards Meghan Markle. They mean this as a good thing.
When you are trapped in a bubble in which everyone hates a woman for reasons that are vague at best (please, explain to us, like we’re stupid, how anyone could rationally “hate” Meghan Markle), a story of someone reacting to that person with a cartoonish tantrum might sound like praise. To normal people, however, the unsubstantiated claim make Elizabeth sound like a very unpleasant person.

After a whirlwind 10-day vacation in Japan with his wife, Caleigh, and the final shows of his 39-stop THE COUNTRY! COUNTRY! TOUR, HARDY is shifting his focus to new music.
In a recent interview with Lon Helton on Country Countdown USA, HARDY revealed that he’s been working on some of the best music he’s ever written. While he remained tight-lipped about a release timeline, he teased that he believes the new music will resonate with fans, especially considering the concept is similar to something he’s done in the past that proved to be quite popular.
“I have been in the studio, I’ve been writing. I’ve written 6 or 8 of the best songs I’ve ever written. They’re all on this record. I’m very excited about it,” HARDY shared. “I have a concept, and it’s similar to something I’ve done in the past that was very popular. New music is coming, a lot of it, and a lot of good stuff. It’s very close. Closer than you might think.”

Always one to keep fans on their toes, HARDY also revealed that he’s been working closely with fellow country star Kane Brown on something that could surprise fans.
“I’ve been writing some stuff with Kane. Without giving too much away, Kane & I have something going on together that might come out at some point,” he teased. “That’s as vague as I can be. We’ve spent time in the studio together. We’ve written some songs. We’re cookin’ on something. I have no idea when or where.”
On Thursday, HARDY earned a CMA Awards nomination for “McArthur,” which he co-wrote with Eric Church, Morgan Wallen and Tim McGraw. While chatting with Helton, he looked back on the story behind the song and the writing session that brought it to life alongside Chase McGill, Jameson Rodgers and Josh Thompson.

“I was in a writing session, and one of the writers said, ‘What if we did John’s verse, and then jumped to his son, and we make it about how this family has passed down this farm through generations.’ Everything just fell together,” he recalled. “I got bold and sent it to Eric. He immediately texted me and said he was in. Same with Morgan. The three of us sent it to Tim, and the rest is history. We kind of got lucky.”
“McArthur” is vying for the title of Musical Event of the Year at the upcoming 60th Annual CMA Awards. The show, hosted by Lainey Wilson, will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 18, at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. The broadcast will also be available to stream on Hulu the following day.

I know everyone has been waiting to hear what’s been going on behind the scenes, so I’m just going to lay it out: I’ve made an offer to buy Ryan Phelan and Stewart Brand’s houseboat Mirene.
People say “the two happiest days of a boaters life is when you buy the boat and sell the boat” but I’m not always the best at following advice, so I’m going all-in on this cute little tuggy.
Anybody who’s founded a company and had to find good stewards knows that no one will love a thing quite like the original owner, but sometimes you can find the perfect person to carry the torch. I was happy to take on and upgrade John Mayer’s EarthRoamer for about five years.

Then I passed it on to Dustin Yellin, trading for some of his art. But without a high-maintenance means of conveyance, I’ve felt a hole in my heart and really boxed in and constrained. So from land, to the sea!
SF Standard says “The kitchen table may be where Otis Redding wrote “(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay.” I hope do a lot of blogging there.

Real artists ship, right? Longevity is all about maintenance, and I’m looking forward to all the lessons Mirene and the ocean will teach as we navigate the weather of the coming years. If the offer is accepted, I have a lot to learn from Ryan and Stewart about what’s next.

Nashville is officially taking the next step toward incorporating Dolly Parton’s name into to the Nashville International Airport. Local news outlets report that the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) Board of Commissioners and the Metropolitan Planning Commission Board of Directors voted unanimously to begin the process during a special joint meeting Sept. 11
The push to honor Parton at the airport came after a petition that launched before her death gained massive momentum following her passing on August 25, 2026. The petition has since collected more than 175,000 signatures.

Gov. Bill Lee, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell and members of the Metro City Council have also voiced their support for honoring Parton in this way.
Back in august, Lee stated, “Dolly Parton’s extraordinary life is forever woven into the fabric of our state…From her rural mountain home in East Tennessee to global stages, Dolly carried the Volunteer Spirit with her. At a place where Tennessee welcomes the world, it is fitting that Nashville International Airport would bear the name of our state’s favorite daughter.”
As word for the proposal began to spread, Parton’s family and foundation added their support. Lee noted that he spoke with Dolly’s team about the idea, and they shared appreciation for the “extraordinary outpouring of support to honor Dolly,” adding that they were touched by the gesture and welcomed “continuing the conversation.”
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority voted 6-0 to begin the renaming process. Airport leaders will spend the coming months working with the necessary parties to determine how Parton’s name will be incorporated and what changes will need to be made.
One of the proposed names is Dolly Parton International Airport. According to NewsChannel 5, the airport’s existing BNA code would remain in place, preserving its connection to Col. Harry S. Berry, who helped establish the airport in 1939.
Before the renaming can officially take effect, the airport authority will also need to revisit its current naming policy (Rule 2010-33), which generally says that airport properties cannot be named after someone until at least two years after their death.
If the name change receives final approval, airport officials will then begin working through the administrative process with the FAA, including changing all signage and finalizing any necessary paperwork. The entire process is expected to take six months to a year, with the cost estimated at $8 million to $10 million.
So, while today’s vote does not mean travelers can immediately start booking flights to “Dolly Parton International Airport,” it does serve as the first major step toward making the proposed name a reality.

Thursday marked one year since Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at a Utah college.
The anniversary saw widespread debate about Kirk’s legacy and quite a few tributes from the late pundit’s famous friends.
Donald Trump Jr. was one such friend — and his post honoring Kirk has sparked a firestorm of controversy.

On Thursday, Don Jr. marked the anniversary of Kirk’s death by sharing several photos of the two of them on X.
“Miss you so much buddy!!!” he captioned the post.
The photos included one shot of Don Jr. with Kirk, Vice President JD Vance, and Kid Rock at an event. Another showed the president’s eldest son standing alongside Kirk in the snow.
It was a seemingly straightforward tribute to a longtime friend. But the internet had other ideas.
Rather than receiving an outpouring of support, Don Jr. was hit with criticism from some commenters who accused him — and his father, President Donald Trump — of failing Kirk and his family.
“Truly disgusting how you guys have betrayed Charlie. Your dad wouldn’t (have) won without Charlie and Tucker (Carlson),” one person replied (via Radar Online).
The commenter also referenced Trump’s response in the aftermath of Kirk’s assassination, claiming the president quickly shifted the conversation toward his plans for a White House ballroom.
Another critic declared, “The day Trump lost my support,” before similarly referencing Trump’s comments about the ballroom.
“You miss him cause he can’t help your dad win the midterms,” a third person wrote.
Someone else was even more blunt, accusing the Trump family of viewing Kirk primarily as a political asset.
“Charlie Kirk was someone to use to get what you all wanted!!!” the commenter alleged.
That criticism stands in stark contrast to the way Don Jr. spoke about Kirk immediately following his death.
At the time, Don Jr. described Kirk as being like a “little brother” and praised him as one of the most courageous and principled people he had ever known.
“He was one of the most courageous, principled men I’ve ever known, and he lived every day with purpose,” Don Jr. wrote.
He also described Kirk’s death as an “unimaginable loss” for his family, friends, and the country.
Throughout the country, Kirk supporters gathered to honor his legacy on Thursday, with tributes taking place at the university and at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas.
To his credit, Don Jr.’s message seems like it was meant as a genuine tribute to someone he considered a close friend.
But given how inauthentic he’s shown himself to be over the years, it’s not surprising that so many have been skeptical.
