Packers HC Matt LaFleur On Hot Seat Despite Extension? Colin Cowherd Explains

When the Green Bay Packers hired Matt LaFleur to replace Mike McCarthy — who was fired during the 2018 regular season — in 2019, it was to squeeze out another Super Bowl run with Aaron Rodgers. Well, to date, Green Bay hasn’t advanced past the NFC Championship Game under LaFleur with both Rodgers (2019-22) and Jordan Love (2023-present) under center and has been eliminated in the NFC wild-card round in back-to-back years (2024-25). And while LaFleur signed a new contract in January, could he actually be coaching for his job this season? “Matt LaFleur has been in the league a while, and he’s probably on the coolest hot seat any coach has ever been on,” Colin Cowherd said on Friday’s edition of “The Herd.” “It’s not your usual hot seat, but two things are working against the Green Bay coach. No. 1, his division has Ben Johnson [Chicago Cubs] and Kevin O’Connell [Minnesota Vikings], brilliant offensive head coaches, top of the league, and then, the ultimate alpha-dog coach, Dan Campbell [Detroit Lions]. Over the last two years, the NFC North has won seven more games than the next division. It is probably or arguably the best coach division in football … “Here’s the other thing: Matt LaFleur has now developed a reputation, and the Packers’ front office knows it, and they’re watching the last couple of playoff losses, where they get that big lead, very smart, sophisticated game plan, and then they’re not tough enough to finish the game off.” The Packers, who began last season 9-3-1, lost their last four regular-season games before blowing a 21-3 halftime lead to the archival Chicago Bears in the wild-card round, marking five combined losses to end the year. Under LaFleur (2019-25), the Packers are a combined 76-40-1 in the regular season, 3-6 in the postseason and have won three division titles (2019-21). His 76 regular-season wins and 65.4% winning percentage each rank fourth in team history. Regarding this season, Green Bay has a new defensive coordinator in former Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, who replaces Jeff Hafley, who left to become the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Gannon’s defense will begin the 2026 campaign without superstar defensive end Micah Parsons, who tore his ACL in Week 15 of last season. As for their competition, one could argue the Packers’ division, the NFC North, is the best in the sport. The Bears are coming off their first division title since 2018 and are entering their second season with Johnson as head coach; the Lions missed the playoffs last season, but they won 15 games in 2024 and have posted a winning record in four consecutive seasons (2022-25); the Vikings, who won 14 games in 2024, still went 9-8 last season in a campaign that saw them start three different quarterbacks (J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer). “Smart gets you a lead in pro football. Toughness gets you the win,” Cowherd said about LaFleur’s Packers. “At the end of games, eight, 12-play drives; no passes; head down; you’re bloodied; you pick up a third-and-1 three separate times, and I think that’s the question about Matt LaFleur and Green Bay. And I don’t think it’s a cheap shot. I think we got some data that it’s probably true.”Latest Sports News from FOX Sports

Primetime: Trailer For Robert Pattinson Film Sparks New Questions About the Life of Chris …

Reading Time: 2 minutes

If you used social media at all this week, then there’s a very good chance you encountered the first trailer for Primetime, which is set to hit theaters next month.

The film, which stars Robert Pattinson in the lead role, explores the controversial career of Chris Hansen, the NBC journalist who made a name for himself by setting up televised sting operations to expose men who had arranged to meet minors they had met online.

What began as a segment on Dateline: NBC soon spawned its own series, To Catch a Predator, and Hansen soon found himself at the center of intense debates about journalistic ethics and vigilante justice.

For obvious reasons, the trailer has raised questions about what Hansen is doing with his life these days.

And it seems that despite the controversies, he’s still up to his old tricks.

Although many viewers still associate Hansen almost exclusively with To Catch a Predator, the 66-year-old never stepped away from investigative reporting.

After leaving NBC in 2013, Hansen launched several new projects centered on crime reporting, including Hansen vs. Predator and later Takedown with Chris Hansen.

He also founded the streaming platform TruBlu, which focuses on true crime programming and investigative journalism.

He’s also embraced podcasting.

Hansen currently hosts two shows, “Predators I’ve Caught” and “Have a Seat with Chris Hansen,” where he revisits past investigations, interviews guests and discusses ongoing criminal cases.

According to People, new episodes are released twice each week.

The past several years have also brought major changes away from the cameras.

Hansen divorced his first wife, Mary Joan Hansen, in 2020 after nearly three decades of marriage. Their split followed years of highly publicized personal and financial issues, including reports that Hansen was evicted from his New York apartment during the divorce proceedings.

Hansen later downplayed the situation, describing it as a landlord-tenant dispute that received more attention than it deserved.

Just one year later, he married Gabrielle Gagnon, beginning a new chapter in his personal life.

Hansen has also weathered a handful of legal issues since his Dateline days.

In 2019, he was arrested after allegedly writing bad checks connected to promotional merchandise for a crowdfunding campaign. The matter was ultimately resolved.

He also faced a warrant in 2021 after failing to appear in court related to a sting operation. Hansen later said the missed court date resulted from a misunderstanding with his legal team.

Despite those setbacks, Hansen has remained active in the true crime world and continues conducting investigations.

Primetime probably won’t do any wonders for his reputation. But having already survived several scandals surrounding his brand of voyeuristic

Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley Have Fans Buzzing After Reuniting for New Duet ‘Jaded’

Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley first joined forces in 2023 with their RIAA Gold-certified collaboration “That’s Why We Fight,” which showcased their powerful musical connection and quickly became a fan-favorite. Now, three years later, with even more success behind them, the pair of country stars have reunited for Wetzel’s latest Country radio single, “Jaded.”

In the days leading up to the release, a Nashville billboard, a mysterious voicemail and a few cryptic social posts had fans theorizing that the two might be working together again. Wetzel officially confirmed the duet via social media, leading to a plethora of excited reactions from listeners who were eager to hear their voices come together for the first time since “That’s Why We Fight.”

Co-written by Wetzel, Langley, Jordan Schmidt and ERNEST, the vulnerable new duet finds Wetzel and Langley carrying the emotions of two people who are burdened with the scars of past heartbreak. The mid-tempo track features a rhythm of twangy electric guitars, a laid-back groove and emotionally charged vocals that highlight Wetzel’s raw-edged sound and Langley’s soulful tone.

Both of the artists speak with patience and empathy while trying to understand the walls the other person has built, in hopes of creating a space for healing.

“How’d you get so jaded?/ Who made you like this?/ Who gave you these problems?/ Even I can’t seem to fix/ How’d you get so lonely? /How’d you get so cold?/ I don’t wanna hurt you, baby/ I just wanna know/ How’d you get so jaded,” they sing on the chorus.

Speaking on the duet, Wetzel claimed that Langley has been one of his “favorite people to write and sing with for a long time” and it was only a matter of time before they got back into the studio together.

“We recorded ‘That’s Why We Fight’ early on in both of our careers, and getting back in a room together was something we talked about every time we saw each other. When she sings, you believe it and I’m excited we could get this one out there to the fans.”

Langley echoed the “High Road” singer’s excitement, noting that they have “known each other and been friends for a long time.”

“He was one of the first artists I ever got to collaborate with and one of the first I went out on the road with back in 2022. Getting to write and record another song together is special,” she shared.

Since their first collaboration, both artists have experienced significant career growth. “Jaded” comes at a pivotal moment for Langley, who has quickly emerged as one of country music’s most exciting rising stars with a string of chart successes and esteemed accolades.

Meanwhile, Wetzel is entering a new chapter following the release of his critically acclaimed album The Night Champion in June. After the project arrived, he dropped five additional songs that were written and recorded alongside the album’s original 11 tracks.

Koe Wetzel’s The Night Champion World Tour continues across the U.S., Canada and Australia, with a setlist featuring new music as well as some of the biggest songs from his catalog. The tour also features special guests Shane Smith & The Saints, Ole 60, Wyatt Flores, Corey Kent, Wade Bowen, Bayker Blankenship, Kolby Cooper and Logan Jahnke across select dates.
