Tonight, American Idol’s Hollywood Week came to an end, but not before the tension grew among the hopeful contestants. As the Top 30 were being announced, the judging panel revealed there would be two sing-offs that would determine who would fill the last two spots and move onto the next phase of the competition.
Before bringing the singers back into the theater for the final results, the show’s host Ryan Seacrest warned them that “anything could happen” and he was exactly right. He explained that the remaining 60 would be cut in half to reveal the Top 30. This instantly caused a wave of panic and uneasiness to wash over the room.
Once back in front of judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Carrie Underwood, the contestants were told that the deliberations came down to how some of them “occupied the same space,” meaning the judges had to consider the artists with similar styles and lanes. Bryan noted that this was not an easy decision for them.
“It’s been a crazy Hollywood week here in Nashville. You’ve been through a lot. We’ve had to talk out your futures amongst us three, and it’s nothing that we take lightly,” he admitted.
The country star then revealed that the first sing-off would be a “Garner VS. Garner” face-off, giving two hopeful singers with the last name one more chance to fight for their life. This completely coincidental matchup involved Jayson Garner and Michael Garner who, ironically also both earned a golden ticket in their auditions with Red Clay Stray songs.
Jayson chose to come out strong with a lively performance of “That’s All Right” by Elvis Presley, during which he let his vocals fly and pulled out all the bells and whistles, even playing the guitar from behind his head. The judges seemed impressed but kept their thoughts to themselves until hearing from Michael.
The 16-year-old took a lighter approach. He didn’t have any crazy tricks up his sleeve. Instead, he let his rich vocals do the talking through a rendition of Dobie Gray’s “Drift Away.” His performance had the judges singing and dancing along from their seats.
Once they both finished up their acoustic deliveries, it was time to hear the judges’ thoughts.
“I want to stress to you guys both. You are both very talented young men. We’ve put you in a tough situation to duke it out like this. We’re going to huddle up and we’re going to figure out who gets to go be in the top 30,” said Bryan.
All three of them huddled up and quietly discussed before ultimately deciding that Michael Garner was the winner of the sing-off.
“We’ve been here a long time and you boys have us making decisions late into the night. Tough decisions,” the “Mind of a Country Boy” singer began. “The next to go in the Top 30 is gonna be…Michael. Jayson, it’s the end of the road for you buddy,” he told the artists.
The Top 28 watched eagerly from backstage as the two battled it out. When Michael’s name was called, he was immediately frozen in shock, while his fellow contestants cheered him on.
“I just went out there and I did my best and everything. I prayed about everything and y’all showed me the lie. I made him the Top 30,” he said proudly.
Jayson looked to be understandably disappointed, however he expressed how grateful he was to have made it this far in the competition.
“He got the Top 30, which well deserved, but I’m glad I didn’t have to just sit there. I got to go out and try to get it. But oh man, I’m just so thankful for how far I got. God is so good. It’s just so amazing.”
Michael will join his fellow Top 30 contestants in heading to Hawaii next week for the new “Ohana Round.” Viewers can see the fresh twist untold Monday night when American Idol airs at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and on streaming the following day on Hulu.

Meghan Patrick has built her career “brick by brick,” working hard since day one and gaining an incredibly loyal fanbase along the way. That dedication radiated throughout the walls of Chicago’s Carol’s Pub, where her headlining stop felt more like a reunion of old friends than strangers gathered at a concert.
Her performance was one that those in attendance will be talking about for a long time. For nearly 90 minutes, she made the stage her own, delivering a mix of fan-favorites from her latest project, Golden Child (and its deluxe, The Final Chapter) as well as deep-cuts during an intimate acoustic section.
But before heading into the venue and experiencing the true magic of the Golden Child Tour, Meghan joined us across the street at a local Italian restaurant for some good food and even better conversations. With a warm pizza waiting for her, she took the time to share stories from the road, reflect on her musical journey up to this point, her first-ever U.S. headline tour and the legacy she hopes to leave with her music.
Her spirits were high and heart was full as she took us all the way back to when she signed her first U.S. record deal and the grind she’s been on ever since. Unlike many of today’s country artists, Meghan Patrick hasn’t relied on a viral moment to catapult her to the top overnight. Instead, she’s built her success organically through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to investing in herself.
Her hands-on approach has helped her forge a deep connection with fans worldwide, and it shows. As a result, the Canadian singer/songwriter has found that it isn’t the size of the stage she’s playing that really matters, but the experience she gives each audience and the connection that’s born from it.
“It’s super beneficial to get to open for bigger acts. You kind of get put in front of their audience, but I’ve always felt like I’ve been able to make a bigger impact and more lifelong fans when I can do my own show, give them the full experience as opposed to 25 minutes as the first of three when people are kind of still getting a beer and getting in their seats and stuff,” she told Country Now. “And I get to play longer. I can go stand at the merch table after the show and meet everybody. And I just feel like that’s how you build fan bases that stick with you forever.”
When the clock hit 9 PM on Thursday, February 26, it was time for Meghan Patrick to finally hit the stage. Fans grabbed a fresh drink and either found their seat at their reserved table to excitedly made their way to the very front of the room, ready for an up-close-and-personal concert experience. She and her band made their grand entrance and instantly created an electricity that’s hard to describe.
The setlist began with a few tracks of her Golden Child album, including “Whether You Love Me or Not,” “Stoned Alone,” “Both Can Be True” and the hilariously relatable “Project.” She then greeted the crowd with nothing but love and promised to “kick the weekend off right,” with a high-energy performance that not only created a safe space but also allowed fans to let loose.
“Thank you for making sure I didn’t walk out to an empty bar, I was genuinely scared of that,” she admitted.
Once her fans were properly warmed up, Meghan told some of her band members to enjoy a brief break while she slowed things down with an acoustic portion of the show. This was the time of the night that some fans looked most forward to, as they had the hand in choosing the songs added into the set list. In Chicago, she sang “Other People,” followed by an unreleased track titled “I Sure Hope So,” as well as the powerful tune, “Ironman,” that had tears flowing in the crowd.
The next performance became a highlight of the entire show. The song, “Hold on Meg” appears as the last track on the deluxe version of Golden Child and is arguably one of the most personal of the entire collection. These lyrics act as a message of encouragement to herself while also being a love letter to her fans.
“The song ends with like, it’s not about the suits and ties and the industry and all that. It’s about the people, the family that’s come to every show on this whole tour. Those people matter, my music matters that much to them and that is so valuable,” she shared. “And it might not make headlines and it might not be what the media talks about, and most people don’t even know the kind of impact I’m blessed to have on some of these people that I know. I wanted them to know that I know and that it matters to me and that they matter to me.”
The reason this song has become such a memorable part of her performance is because of the moving thing that fans have done to prove that they hear her, and that they believe she matters too. Meghan was brought to tears when fans surprised her by holding up signs that read encouraging messages like “You’re right on time,” “Here’s your sign, Meg,” and “We’ve decided…you’ve made it.”
This heartfelt act that began early in her tour and once again took place in Chicago, had her struggling to finish the tune while holding back tears.
“Those fans, they’ve been coming to my shows and they’ve been following me since the beginning before it was cool to like my music or pay attention to what I was doing. And I have really tight relationships with a lot of those people because also because I write really deeply personal music,” she said reflecting on their kindness. “They’re good people, they’re kind people, and those are the kind of fans I want. Those are the kind of people I want buying my tickets and being in the crowd of my shows.”
The remainder of the concert showcased Meghan’s country-rock edge on stage through Led Zeppelin covers as well as songs like the title track to her album and her ode to her husband, Mitchell Tenpenny with “The Sweet Spot.” The evening came to a close with her homewrecker anthem, “Jessica, Jezebel,” which called for some epic crowd participation. A slew of small, golden kazoos were passed out to the audience, creating a “kazoo choir” to help her deliver the track.

Of course, as promised, she made sure to stay afterward and greet as many fans who wanted to meet her over at the merch booth. Meghan told Country Now that her goal with every show is to create an environment where “everybody feels welcome, where it feels like just like we’re all family and everybody’s there to have a good time and it’s just a positive vibe. It’s a place to be yourself, whatever that is. And to feel intimately connected to me and the guys on the stage and the stories that we tell.” And that’s exactly what happened on this Thursday night.
All those years of working hard to ensure she stayed authentic and honest with her music is proving to bring success her way on her terms. She admits she has had so many people telling her what she needs to do in order to “make it,” but she found that often, “the things that looked like winning are not really winning.” That mindset and lesson is also what her entire Golden Child record is about.
“Some of the most successful people I know are the unhappiest and I realized that like I don’t want that. I don’t want to be unhappy and I want to be fulfilled. And of course, I also have to pay my mortgage. So yeah, it’s still my job, but I have to believe that there’s a way to do that, to have both.”
This also has led her to envision the bigger picture and the legacy she wants to leave behind when she’s gone one day. Instead of being remembered by the number of awards she’s won or the amount of money she made, she wants to be remembered by the songs she wrote that helped people through tough times, the ones that made people love themselves more, the ones that made a positive impact.
“That to me is a beautiful legacy,” she shared.
Meghan Patrick’s Golden Child Tour continues next month with stops across Nevada and California before she heads over to Canada. She will return to the U.S. in May and wrap up her headline dates in July.

Tucker Wetmore fans begged for more, and he listened! The rising country star just announced 17 additional stops on his The Brunette World Tour this fall, hitting major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, and more.
Joining Wetmore on select dates are Maddox Batson, William Beckmann, George Birge, Jacob Hackworth, Braxton Keith, and Stella Lefty, promising an unforgettable lineup of rising talent alongside his high-energy performances.
“This tour has already been more than I ever imagined,” Wetmore shared. “Getting to add more dates and head back out West to play some bucket-list venues is something I’m really grateful for and I can’t wait to keep it rolling.”

Along with announcing new tour dates, Wetmore also has plenty of new music on the horizon, including the highly anticipated track “Sunburn,” set to arrive on March 13. During his recent No. 1 party celebrating “3,2,1” at BMI’s Nashville offices, the Washington native hinted at plans to roll out a steady stream of new music throughout the year.
“There’s a lot coming out and I’m probably the most excited right now than I ever have been…And I’m hoping to drop my second record, my second album this year. Hopefully drop something here in the next couple of weeks and then kind of trickle out a couple of the songs before the album,” he shared.
Without revealing too many details, the chart-topping star also teased a noticeable shift in sound, explaining that his upcoming music will feel “sonically so different.”
“I don’t want to get into details because I could just sit here and talk about this for hours, but it’s so different and nostalgic. And I love the word nostalgia and everything it stands for. That’s pretty much all I listen to is old ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s country, all that stuff,” he explained. “And I don’t know how to say anything without giving too much away, but yes, there’s a lot coming out and I’m very excited about it and it’ll come before you know it.”
Tucker Wetmore’s The Brunette World Tour launched in February with sold-out stops in Boston, New York, and beyond. This spring, he’ll take the tour overseas for a run of U.K. and European dates, including three sold-out nights in London, before returning stateside for CMA Fest and select shows alongside Jordan Davis, HARDY, and Brooks & Dunn.

Dylan Marlowe and his wife Natalie have officially welcomed their twin boys into the world, marking the start of a brand-new chapter together as first-time parents.
The couple shared the exciting news on Monday afternoon (March 2), revealing the names of their baby boys: Case and Huck Marlowe. In a joint Instagram post, fans got a glimpse of the adorable hospital moments, with the twins snug in onesies embroidered with their names. The final photo captured a sweet at-home introduction, as the boys met their two furry siblings, Banks, a Boykin Spaniel, and Bailey, a Golden Retriever.
Their caption read, “Everybody meet Case and Huck Marlowe!!! Thank you Lord for this double blessing, our hearts and laps are full❤️🥹”
Fans first found out about their pregnancy in October, when they revealed they would soon be turning into a family of four. Shortly after they announced the gender of their twins, with a bit of help from their pups.
The gender reveal was captured on video and documented their raw reactions to finding out that two little boys would be joining their family. They called out to their two dogs, who ran over with a pair of blue balloons tied to them, causing Dylan and Naralie to express a mix of shock, joy and excitement.
From behind the camera, another voice delivered even more surprising news: their boys would be identical twins.
They wrote, “MARLOWE TWINS ARE …. thank you Jesus for little IDENTICAL boys !!!!! 🩵😭 I’m still not over it.”
After sharing that they had been struggling with infertility for nearly two years, the couple was especially overjoyed to reveal they weren’t just expecting one baby, but two. In December, Natalie shared on Instagram her gratitude for the incredible blessing of expecting twins after such a challenging journey.
“Last December I planned on announcing we were pregnant to my friends on my birthday. And our family on Christmas. It seemed like everyone else was. I just knew we would be pregnant by then. It would be a gift from God Himself on my birthday. But He had other plans,” she recalled. “If only I had known then what I know now. But that’s not how faith works. Faith is believing in a God who we will never see this side of Heaven. Several months later He answered our prayers in a double portion. Only God.”
The couple first crossed paths at a private Luke Combs and Brett Young concert, held during a birthday party in the backyard of one of Dylan Marlowe’s friends. At the time, Dylan admits that Natalie “did not want anything to do with me,” but he still managed to find a way to spark up a conversation and eventually exchanged numbers. Clearly, the plan worked because in May of 2023, they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Nashville.
In between their preparations to welcome their babies home, Dylan Marlowe revealed he has also been working hard to create new music for his fans.
“Never been more excited about music in my life,” he teased in a recent post.
Has already released several songs that capture the sentiment and emotions surrounding this chapter of life, including “Picture Perfect,” “Coming Home Tomorrow,” and “Barefoot and Pregnant.”
Throughout the year, fans can catch Dylan Marlowe supporting select dates of Ella Langley’s The Dandelion Tour, beginning in May.

Bailey Zimmerman proves he’s exactly where he belongs on his headlining Different Night Same Rodeo Tour, delivering a high-energy show with all the bells and whistles.
On Friday (Feb. 27), Zimmerman brought the heat to Knoxville, Tennessee’s Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center for the fourth stop of the tour. After rising stars Blake Whiten and Hudson Westbrook warmed up the crowd, Zimmerman made one of the most insane stage entrances in country music today: shot from a riser below the stage as flames erupted around him, he grabbed a rope from the rafters and swung onto the stage.
He immediately launched into hit after hit, performing “Backup Plan” (sans Luke Combs), “Never Comin’ Home,” “Lost,” “Change,” and fan-favorite “Fall In Love,” moving across every inch of the arena and keeping the energy electric.
A few minutes in, Zimmerman paused to take in the crowd and reflect on his journey from his tiny hometown of Louisville, Illinois.
“A lot of words are coming to my head, but I’m about to cry,” he admitted. “Because this is the fourth arena show on the Different Night Same Rodeo Tour. And we have 9,500 people here right now. I’d say that’s pretty good for the white boy from a trailer park!”
He went on to thank his fans and his team.
“Well, Knoxville, my name is Bailey Zimmerman. I’m from a small town in southern Illinois called Louisville, Illinois. And I’m sure I grew up just like a lot of y’all…this may just be a Friday night, but to us, man, it’s a whole lot more than just one night. I started singing in 2021. I’d never sang before in my life. And from that day forward, when I quit my job and I decided I’m going to be a country music singer, all the people that you don’t see right now that are behind that stage jumped in to help me get to right here, right now. And without every single one of those people, I would not be me that I am today. So Knoxville, if you guys would, make the loudest noise for all my people in the back.”
His gratitude felt genuine as he added, “We love you guys so much… without you, we would not be able to make this happen… I’d also like to thank every single person that bought a ticket tonight… So just know that that does not go unnoticed. I know that you spend your hard-earned money to come see me in my band and you guys could be anywhere else right now, but you chose to be right here. So thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Zimmerman promised to deliver the best show possible, and he did over the two hours he was on stage. He kept the energy high with “Comin’ In Cold,” delivered emotional performances with “Before You” and “You’re for the Breaking,” and went intimate with fans on the B-stage, performing a cover of “The Climb” to inspire the audience to chase their dreams. He transformed the arena into a club-like atmosphere with “All The Way,” his collaboration with BigXThaPlug, before returning to the main stage for selfies, high-fives, and a rowdy performance of “New To Country” with Hudson Westbrook.
The show wrapped with surprise appearances from University of Tennessee mascots Smokey and Davy and a triumphant close with Zimmerman’s biggest hits: “Religiously,” “Where It Ends,” and “Rock and a Hard Place.”
It seems his name is often overlooked when it comes to award shows, but seeing Zimmerman command a sold-out arena makes it clear he doesn’t need validation: he’s earned this moment. Bailey Zimmerman belongs as a headliner in country music.
His journey has had its ups and downs, but watching him live on this tour feels like a redemption story in real time. He’s grown not only as an entertainer but as a singer and a man, proving that hard work, authenticity, and connecting with fans is the true measure of success.
