Ahead of his ACM Awards performance on Sunday, Tucker Wetmore is reflecting on his recent ACM New Male Artist of the Year win while teasing what fans can expect from both his performance and red carpet look.
We caught up with the rising star backstage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena following rehearsals for the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards, where he opened up about the emotional moment he received the life-changing news.

Wetmore was nearing the end of a seven-week overseas run when his sold-out concert in London suddenly turned into an unexpected celebration. During the show, his mother surprised him on stage with a video message from Thomas Rhett before presenting him with his very first ACM Award for New Male Artist of the Year.
The moment hit especially hard for the “Brunette” singer, who admitted he had already been feeling homesick after spending so much time away from family and loved ones.
“At that point, I’d been out for seven weeks and it’s a long time to be away from home and loved ones and family. So I mean there was definitely emotions flowing towards the end because I was missing home. But then my mom comes out on stage with the award and I think just a mix of everything that I had going on in my life and that award and knowing how hard, not just me, but my whole team has worked on it, I just broke down seeing my mama. It was special,” he recalled.
For Wetmore, earning recognition from the country music community truly “means the world.”
“I’ve looked up to country music pretty much my whole life and the fact that they see a spot for me at the table, that just makes me emotional…I’m just happy to be here,” he proudly shared.
As for his ACM Awards performance, Wetmore kept details under wraps but promised fans they’re in for a fun moment, and maybe even a little of his signature hip shaking.
“It’s going to be fun,” he teased.
While in Las Vegas, Wetmore is also slated to perform at ACM Next Wave: Country’s Beach Bash at the iconic Mandalay Bay Beach Wave Pool. And yes, he admitted there’s a chance he could spend a little time gambling while in town.
Fans can also expect Wetmore to bring plenty of style to the ACM Awards red carpet. Describing the look in just a few words, he called it “nostalgic” and “kind of sexy.”
The chart-topping artist joins a packed ACM Awards performance lineup that includes Blake Shelton, Parker McCollum alongside Lee Ann Womack, Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley, Dan + Shay, Kacey Musgraves, and many more.
Hosted by Shania Twain, the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will stream live exclusively on Prime Video beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. PT for viewers in more than 240 countries and territories.

Stella Lefty and Vincent Mason have had fans buzzing online, which has now led to them release a brand-new collaboration, “Something To Lose.” Last month, the pair of artists posted their very first video that sent users into a frenzy wondering if they had just “hard launched” their relationship. We now know that video wasn’t just fueling speculation about their growing connection. It was also a teaser for their duet, which officially dropped today.
The new track captures that slow-burning feeling of an unexpected connection starting to feel real. When two people go from being strangers to realizing they might actually be changing each other’s lives for the better.
Penned by Lefty with Jon Decious, Grace Enger and Luke Dick, “Something To Lose” begins with the Illinois native stepping into the role of a “stubborn girl with a heart untamed,” reflecting on how she never expected to let anyone in, let alone someone who would make her feel like she finally has something to lose.

Then enters Mason, who’s voice briefly intertwines with Lefty’s before he takes the second verse, offering his perspective on how their connection shifted his world and pulled him in deeper than he ever planned. By the final chorus, the two come together, blending harmonies as they discover that what started as a spontaneous connection has become something neither of them wants to walk away from.
“Oh, I was a wild horse built for runnin’/ Didn’t see those blue eyes comin’/ This was never supposed to be nothin’ but a little somethin’ to do/ I got good at bein’ lonely ’til you showed me I was better with you/ Now I got somethin’ to lose,” the artists sing over the mellow beat led by the delicate acoustic guitar strums.
“Something To Lose” arrives today as the focus track of Lefty’s debut country EP, Is This Heaven?, which is also available everywhere now.The project also features pre-released fan favorite hits “I Know I Know,” “Boston,” “Slow Dancin,” and “Thinkin ‘bout You.”
“‘Is this heaven?’ No, it’s Iowa.’ I love this quote from my favorite movie ‘Field of Dreams’. It’s the perfect way to sum up everything I’ve been doing lately,” Lefty says of the project. “I never believed that people could connect with my songs like this. It feels like heaven to me. I feel like I’m in a dream, and I just want to stay asleep a little longer so I can keep living in this moment. The music feels the most ME it’s ever been.”

The pair of artists have been gaining recognition across social media as fans speculate about a possible relationship, sparked by Lefty posting a video of the two of them singing along to their newly released duet last month. Since then, clips of the pair together have continued to circulate across both of their platforms, fueling even more conversation online.
Lefty also recently opened up to Audacy’s Scotty Kay about how she and Mason first connected, revealing that both of them are responsible for “shooting the shot.” It all started when she saw a video of Mason being sung to by his tourmate at the time, Ashley Cooke, and instantly wanted to know who the “really cute” boy was.
“I was like, ‘That boy is so cute…Who is this?’ And so I ended up reaching out to my manager and I was like, ‘Do you happen to know his manager? I think he’s really cute. If he ever comes to LA, can I write with him? I don’t know.’ I was just like, how do I get to know him? But then it never got back to him. Vincent never heard about that,” she shared.

Crazy enough, Lefty also caught Mason’s eye after seeing a video she posted online.
“[He] DM’d me about it and was like, ‘Hey. Love this song.’ Yeah, so random,” she added.
Despite not officially declaring themselves a couple publicly, the two artists seem to be getting cozy online and Mason is often seen commenting on Lefty’s posts, including a recent one about her new project in which he wrote, “Thanks for having me I love you stell.”
The Los-Angeles based musician just played her first sold-out headline show at The Moroccan Lounge in LA this week and next set to appear at The Mercury Lounge in NYC on May 19th. She will also be joining Tucker Wetmore on his summer tour, along with a string of tour and festival dates across U.S., EU, and UK.
Meanwhile, Vincent Mason earned a 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards nomination for New Male Artist of the Year, just made his late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and recently landed on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart at No. 94 while climbing to No. 5 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart and No. 25 on the Hot Country Songs Chart.
Mason is currently opening for Morgan Wallen on the Still The Problem Tour and launched his sold-out There I Go headline tour earlier this year with stops in Houston, Nashville, New York City, and Boston.

Fresh off her first ACM Awards win, Avery Anna is heading into country music’s biggest night feeling overwhelmed with gratitude, excitement, and nerves as she prepares for a major career milestone: her first-ever ACM Awards performance.
We caught up with the rising star backstage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena during rehearsals, where she opened up about winning ACM New Female Artist of the Year and how she’s feeling ahead of her ACM Awards debut.

“I am feeling like there’s so much going on I can’t even process it. I still can’t believe I’m here. I don’t even know how to feel,” she shared. “I’m just so excited and nervous all at the same time and getting to perform on the ACMs is way beyond my wildest dreams. I watched it all growing up and I mean I think I’m just honored to be embraced by the country music industry, especially because I lean a little outside of the genre sometimes and so to be taken in with love and understanding is just really beautiful.”
Late last month, fellow artist Sam Barber surprised Avery Anna with the news that she had won ACM New Female Artist of the Year during one of her concerts. Naturally, the first people she called were her family members, including her grandparents, who proudly celebrated the emotional moment alongside her.
She later shared the heartfelt moment on social media, giving fans a glimpse into just how meaningful the achievement was for her loved ones.
“My family foundation is so strong and they are all so supportive of me and they all also love country music so much. It’s a lifestyle it truly is and that’s how I grew up. And so to share that with them and like to win, to find out that I won and then just immediately tell my grandparents was, it was just really cool and they were very proud and I felt like I could kind of like take a deep breath and tell myself that I did good.”
While Avery Anna stayed tight-lipped about the details surrounding her ACM Awards performance, she did say that fans can expect one of her favorite songs to perform live.
“It’s my favorite song to perform live and I think it’s a very good representation of my new sound and my roots,” she teased.
Fans can also expect to see the singer-songwriter walking the red carpet on Sunday night. Although she’s keeping the full look under wraps for now, she described her ACM Awards fashion vibe in three words: “desert, elegant, desert grunge.”
Hosted by Shania Twain, the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
