The Chicks made an appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, taking the stage for a performance of their song “Not Ready To Make Nice.”
Dressed in matching red ensembles, the trio, composed of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer, delivered a fiery, emotional rendition of the 2006 single.
“Not Ready To Make Nice” was written in response to the backlash the trio received after speaking out against President George W. Bush following September 11 and the invasion of Iraq.

While on stage in London, Maines said, “…we don’t want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.”
The trio received backlash from country music listeners and artists alike and their songs were pulled from country radio.
The song was released three years later.
“I’m not ready to make nice/ I’m not ready to back down/ I’m still mad as hell and I don’t have time/ To go ’round and ’round and ’round/ It’s too late to make it right/ I probably wouldn’t if I could/ ‘Cause I’m mad as hell, can’t bring myself/ To do what it is you think I should,” they sing, making quite the statement.
In early 2007, the “Not Ready To Make Nice” earned three Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
The performance comes as they celebrate the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed album Taking the Long Way.

After Taking the Long Way arrived in May 2006, it quickly climbed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart and went on to earn The Chicks five GRAMMY Awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Nearly two decades later, the project is still regarded as one of the most impactful and influential albums of its era.
In celebration of the anniversary, The Chicks have announced their Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour. The trek will kick off September 30 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, before making stops in major cities across the U.S., including Chicago, New York City, Nashville, San Antonio, Austin, Seattle, and San Francisco. The tour will conclude with a two-night finale at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA on November 1 and 2.

Jelly Roll has his sights set on a few major Nashville milestones, including being the first country artist to perform inside the city’s new Nissan Stadium and bringing country music to the Super Bowl halftime stage.
During a surprise appearance at SiriusXM’s The Highway Music Row Happy Hour: CMA Fest Edition, the hitmaker shared that getting to take the stage inside the brand-new stadium, which is on track to be completed by February 2027, would be a dream come true.
“For those of you all that don’t know, I am from born and raised right here in Nashville, Tennessee. I’m one of the few locals. So it is a lifelong dream of mine,” he told the show’s host, Buzz Brainard.

Jelly Roll also laid out what he believes would be the best scenario for the Super Bowl when it comes to Music City in 2030.
“While we’re daydreaming about country music in the Super Bowl, how cool would it be if they did a country music Super Bowl at Nashville?” he asked the packed crowd.
He goes on to paint a picture of exactly what he envisions this performance to look like.
“Now hear me out. The stage opens. Garth Brooks walks out. Jason Aldean walks out. Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll walk out. Kind of how they did the West Coast one when they did LA and they brought all the West Coast artists. Imagine if they took all the country artists, Ella Langley, Riley Green put us all together and let us do the Super Bowl.”
Brainard told the Antioch native that is the “best idea ever” and admitted he “can’t think of a better ambassador for country music and the city of Nashville, Tennessee, than Jelly Roll.”
While stopping by the show, Jelly Roll also performed “Need a Favor,” and teased that he has a new song and album on the way. This will mark the first set of music he has released on his own in over two years, following his tenth studio album, Beautifully Broken, which arrived in October 2024.
“I’ve got an album I’ve been working on hard for two years. It’s somewhere between being the messed up sinner I am and the man of God I’m becoming and I think it’s going to be an incredible album,” he admitted.

Fans can currently find the “Liar” singer on his Little Ass Shed Tour as well as on the Big Ass Stadium tour with my friend Post Malone.
Jelly Roll was one of many country acts who stopped by Chief’s for SiriusXM The Highway’s Music Row Happy Hour during CMA Fest. Throughout the weekend, a mix of big names and rising stars appeared, including Shaboozey, Wynonna Judd, Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, Russell Dickerson, Jordan Davis, Josh Ross, Lauren Alaina, Lauren Watkins, Redferrin, Greylan James, Graham Barham, Dylan Marlowe, Keith Urban, Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, Vincent Mason and so many more.

Ella Langley is turning heads with a stunning cover of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One.”
Late Tuesday, Langley shared a black-and-white video on her socials of her performing the iconic country ballad. The stripped-back clip shows the Alabama native seated at the piano, delivering an emotional and intimate take on the beloved hit.

The performance quickly sparked excitement from fans, who flooded the comments praising how “beautiful” her rendition was. Others highlighted her “amazing” vocals, while the “Ella Fellas” were fully locked in.
“You’re Still The One” was written by Twain alongside her then-husband and producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, and released on her third studio album Come On Over in 1997 before becoming the third single from the project in early 1998.

Inspired by public criticism of their relationship, the song tells a story of lasting love and resilience despite outside doubt. It went on to become a massive crossover success, climbing both country and pop charts.
Langley’s cover arrives less than a month after she and Twain crossed paths at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas, where Langley swept the night and Twain served as host.
Ahead of the ceremony, Twain had expressed admiration for Langley, saying she was eager to meet her after becoming a fan of her sound.
“When I first heard her song come out, I thought, ‘wow, this is the real thing.’ And I’ve realized how much I’ve been missing hearing that authenticity, musically, the production-wise, her voice, her lyrics,” Twain said during an interview on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle. “So, I’m very excited to meet her. I want to know more about where this style came from. Obviously, it must’ve been rooted in something from her childhood, which is really, really great. So I’m excited to meet her and to cheer all of these wonderful artists on.”
According to photos, the two did meet backstage, and Twain clearly made an impression on Langley, who has now paid tribute by covering one of her most iconic hits.
Ella Langley is currently on her Dandelion Tour between dates with Morgan Wallen, while Shania Twain is gearing up for the release of her new album, Little Miss Twain.
