GloRilla’s Arrest Turns Political—Congressman Demands Marijuana Charge Be Dropped

GloRilla was arrested in Forsyth County, Georgia, on felony drug charges after calling police to report a home invasion, prompting a state lawmaker to demand the case be dropped and push for new legislation.

Democratic Rep. Eric Bell is urging prosecutors to dismiss the charges against the Memphis rapper. Bell says her arrest after reporting a burglary sends the wrong message to crime victims.

“She deserves support, not punishment for trying to protect herself and her home. We cannot send the message that doing the right thing puts you at greater risk,” Bell told Fox5 Atlanta.

Authorities responded to a break-in at GloRilla’s Georgia home around 1:30 A.M. on July 20. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, someone inside the house fired a weapon at three intruders who fled the scene.

No injuries were reported and the suspects remain unidentified.

While investigating the burglary, deputies claimed they smelled marijuana and obtained a search warrant. They later said they found cannabis “in plain view” inside the master bedroom closet.

Two days later, on July 22, GloRilla surrendered to authorities on charges of felony marijuana possession and possession of a controlled substance. She was released the same day after posting a $22,260 bond.

Bell is using the incident to promote House Bill 464, which he introduced to shield crime victims from arrest over unrelated minor offenses when seeking help from law enforcement.

“HB 464 is not about going easy on crime. It is about being smart about justice,” Bell said. “No one, regardless of fame, background or zip code, should fear being criminalized for doing the right thing.”

The proposed bill would give legal immunity to individuals who report certain crimes and are later found to have minor infractions, such as outstanding warrants or drug possession.

Bell argues this would encourage more victims to come forward without fear of arrest.

GloRilla has publicly criticized deputies for focusing on her instead of the suspects who broke into her home. On July 24, she posted online that police prioritized cannabis over catching the people who invaded her property.

Bell said her case is part of a larger pattern where Black victims are disproportionately criminalized when seeking help. “Unfortunately stories like hers are not rare,” he said.

Quavo Launches Emergency Fund After Two Rocket Foundation Affiliates Killed In Atlanta

Quavo responded to a deadly weekend of gun violence in Atlanta that claimed the lives of two people connected to his Rocket Foundation by launching a trauma therapy fund aimed at helping families and youth cope with the aftermath.

Eighteen-year-old Deshawn Johnson and Aaron Hines—a local mentor known as Coach Ball—were among five people killed in separate shootings across the city. Both had ties to the Rocket Foundation, which Quavo founded in 2022 after the fatal shooting of his nephew and fellow Migos member Takeoff.

Johnson had recently participated in the Rocket Camp, a summer program focused on youth development and violence prevention. Hines, a respected youth football coach and grant recipient from the foundation, was honored at a vigil attended by hundreds of young athletes earlier this week.

“What he preached for was peace and blessings. So it’s like, stop, gun violence and all. That wasn’t supposed to happen,” Fox 5 Atlanta reported from the memorial.

In response, the Rocket Foundation announced the creation of the Therapy Support Fund, which will provide mental health services to those directly affected by gun violence. The initiative will also support two local organizations—Hope Hustlers and Offenders Alumni—that are actively working to reduce violence in Atlanta neighborhoods.

“The Rocket Foundation is committed to providing real time support for the mental health needs of impacted families and youth,” the foundation said in a statement. “This fund will provide trauma expert therapeutic services for children and families and support grantee organizations- Hope Hustlers and Offenders Alumni, who are leading frontline community violence intervention efforts to end the cycle of violence, and offer ongoing mentorship and support in affected neighborhoods.”

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, multiple people were injured in the shooting that killed Johnson. Police recovered more than 100 shell casings at the scene, but no arrests have been made. In Hines’ case, a 36-year-old suspect has been taken into custody.

The Rocket Foundation was born out of tragedy in November 2022, when Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed outside a Houston bowling alley. His death sent ripples through the rap community and deeply affected Quavo, who was present during the incident.

“This is a huge problem in our community, in our culture, gun violence. And just being a victim, of course, it’s so personal to me,” Quavo told Rolling Stone last year.

He described the Rocket Camp as “a 10-week summer Rocket camp, violent intervention program to just start off with the younger generation and get they mindset on a positive type of time.”

“When I grew up, I went to camp, that’s where I learned how to swim, that’s where I learned how to play football, that’s where I learned how to get along with other people,” he said. “But now I watched my basketball goal be taken down in the community, I watched my programs be not funded and just ran out of money because the parents was running it and they had no plug or no government official, nobody who just funded them every month or funding them every year regardless of the fact that we don’t have the families that make enough money to keep these programs running. So that’s what the Rocket Foundation is about.”

The Rocket Foundation is currently accepting donations to support the Therapy Support Fund.

Kevin Gates Getting Divorced For Second Time In Less Than 3 Months

Kevin Gates is back in divorce court for the second time in three months and this time it’s his longtime partner and confirmed wife Dreka Gates, who is pulling the plug on their nearly decade-long marriage.

Dreka hit the courthouse in L.A. on Wednesday (July 30) and filed to end things with Kevin, according to court docs obtained by TMZ. She listed July 10 as the day they called it quits and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason she’s done.

They tied the knot back in October 2015, so this split lands just a few months shy of what would’ve been their 10th anniversary. The two share two kids — 12-year-old Islah and 11-year-old Khaza.

Dreka wants joint custody and also checked the box for spousal support. But she also wants the court to block Kevin from receiving any support from her.

No word yet on whether there’s a prenup in play, which could make things messy if this goes sideways. Kevin’s team isn’t talking. His rep told TMZ he’s “unfortunately” choosing to stay quiet right now.

Here’s where it gets outlandish — this is Kevin’s second divorce in less than three months. He was also reportedly briefly married to Brittnay Renner earlier this year and they called it quits after just 52 days.

They reportedly got hitched on April 6 and were legally split by May 28. Renner opened up about the quickie marriage during an interview and said she has no regrets.

Kevin’s thing with Renner supposedly ended in May of 2025, but if Dreka’s saying they split in July, that means Kevin might’ve been legally tied to both women at the same time.

EXCLUSIVE: Feds Fight “Dangerous” Diddy’s Attempt To Get Out Of Jail Before Sentencing

The feds say Diddy is just too damned dangerous to be let out of jail before his October sentencing and accused him of trying to dodge accountability after his felony conviction under the Mann Act.

In a sharply worded response filed late Thursday night (July 31), prosecutors rejected Diddy’s motion for release from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, arguing he failed to meet the legal standard for post-conviction bail and remains a threat to others and a potential flight risk.

“The defendant’s temper and violence were unpredictable,” U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton wrote in the filing. “It is ‘impossible’ for the defendant—having repeatedly conceded his propensity for violence at trial—‘to demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that he poses no danger to any other person or the community.’”

Diddy, 55, was convicted on July 2 on two felony counts related to transporting individuals across state lines for illegal sexual activity. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

His legal team filed a motion asking for his release on a $50 million bond while awaiting sentencing set for October 3, and simultaneously also asked for an acquittal or a new trial.

Prosecutors said the motion to reconsider bail was both late and lacking in merit. They argued Diddy’s team failed to present any new evidence, changes in law or significant errors in the original ruling that would justify a reversal.

Diddy’s attorneys claimed the conditions at MDC Brooklyn were unsafe and warranted his release, but prosecutors pushed back, saying the facility had improved significantly in recent years.

They noted increased staffing, fewer lockdowns and better medical care, and pointed out that Diddy had not reported any personal safety concerns since being detained.

The defense had also argued that Diddy’s case was exceptional and that he did not act with commercial intent or exploit vulnerable individuals.

“To our knowledge, Mr. Combs is the only person ever convicted of violating the statute for conduct (for) anything like this,” his lawyers wrote. “It is undisputed that he had no commercial motive and that all involved were adults.”

They also argued that Diddy typically hired male escorts through legal businesses and that the individuals involved voluntarily traveled and participated in the activities.

Still, prosecutors emphasized that Diddy’s conviction triggered mandatory detention under federal law unless “exceptional reasons” applied—and they said this case didn’t qualify.

The court has not yet ruled on the bail reconsideration request. For now, Diddy remains in custody at MDC Brooklyn.

Adam Sandler Explains How Eminem Ended Up In “Happy Gilmore 2”

Adam Sandler pulled off a power move for Happy Gilmore 2 by convincing Eminem to show up in the film for a hilarious cameo—and he almost didn’t make the call.

While chatting on The Dan Patrick Show, Sandler spilled the beans on how he got Slim Shady to play Donald’s kid in the movie. If you remember, Donald was that cranky dude from the OG Happy Gilmore who kept trash-talking Happy mid-swing.

That role was originally played by the late Joe Flaherty. Sandler admitted he wasn’t sure if bugging Em was a good idea.

“I love Eminem. I’m friends with Eminem, but I don’t want to bother the man,” Sandler said. “Everybody kept saying, ‘Eminem would be so funny in this part.’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to ruin this guy’s time.”

But eventually, he gave in and hit up Marshall anyway.

“Let me bug Marshall and give him a call and say, ‘Dude, I know it’s a pain in the a—, but it’s pretty funny. You mind shooting out to us for a day?’”

Turns out Em was all in—and loved the idea. Happy Gilmore 2 is now streaming on Netflix.

Ty Dolla $ign Settles “Vultures 1” Case—Kanye West Not So Lucky

Ty Dolla $ign has officially been dropped from a copyright infringement lawsuit tied to an allegedly unauthorized sample used on Vultures 1, the debut album by Hip-Hop duo ¥$, which pairs him with Kanye West, now known as Ye.

The legal complaint, filed by Memphis artists Criminal Manne, DJ Squeeky and the estate of the late Kilo G, accused the ¥$ track “F*k Sumn” of being “riddled” with unlicensed elements from their 1994 song “Drink a Yak (Part 2).”

However, in a motion submitted Wednesday, attorneys for the trio confirmed they had reached a tentative agreement with Ty Dolla $ign and Create Music Group, effectively removing both from the case.

The lawsuit remains active against Ye, whose alleged use of the sample was described in court documents as both “blatant” and “brazen.”

Filed in 2023, the case adds to Ye’s growing list of legal battles over sampling.

Since 2019, the rapper has been named in at least 10 similar lawsuits, including a notable dispute with the estate of Donna Summer, which was resolved last year.

The settlement with Ty Dolla $ign and Create Music Group was disclosed in a court filing dated Wednesday.

Ozzy Osbourne Gets King-Worthy Send Off With Thousands Attending Funeral Procession

Ozzy Osbourne drew tens of thousands to the streets of Birmingham on Wednesday (July 30) as mourners lined Broad Street to honor the late Black Sabbath icon with a public funeral procession following his death on July 22 at age 76.

The hearse carrying Osbourne’s casket passed the Black Sabbath Bridge, where his widow, Sharon Osbourne, and their children Aimee, Jack and Kelly Osbourne stepped out to take in the sea of tributes left by grieving supporters. Sharon, visibly emotional and looking dangerously frail, leaned on her children as they walked together. After a few quiet minutes at the bridge, she turned to the crowd and raised Ozzy’s trademark peace sign.

The crowd erupted into chants of “Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy, oi oi oi!” and “Thank you, Ozzy” as the family returned to the vehicle. Purple floral arrangements spelling out “Ozzy” rested atop the casket. A private memorial was scheduled for later that day at an undisclosed location, limited to close friends and family.

Earlier in the day, a local brass band kicked off the procession with renditions of Osbourne’s classics, including “Iron Man.” The tribute followed Osbourne’s final public appearance in Birmingham earlier this month during “Back to the Beginning,” a farewell concert celebrating Black Sabbath’s legacy. Though seated due to spinal injuries and Parkinson’s disease, Osbourne attended the event and was described as being in good spirits.

Ozzy’s death marked the end of a decades-long career that helped shape heavy metal and redefine rock performance.

Known for his haunting vocals and theatrical stage presence, Osbourne rose to fame in the 1970s as the frontman of Black Sabbath. With tracks like “Paranoid,” “War Pigs” and “Iron Man,” the band laid the foundation for heavy metal. Osbourne later found solo success with hits like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley,” and became a pop culture fixture through his reality TV show, The Osbournes, and his unfiltered public persona.

Concerns have also grown around Sharon Osbourne’s health following her emotional appearance at the procession. Supporters online expressed worry after seeing her visibly distressed and physically leaning on her children. Sharon, 71, has previously spoken about her own medical issues, including a hospitalization in 2022. She has lost a drastic amount of weight in the interim, and fans are worried she could suffer further health complications due to Ozzy’s death.

“Seeing Sharon so fragile at the Black Sabbath bench, standing in front of all the tributes, completely shattered it was so hard to watch,” one person wrote. “She looked like a woman holding herself together by a thread, surrounded by so much love and yet completely lost without him.”

Another added, “Sharon Osbourne is inconsolable. Mannnn, i hope she survives the heartbreak. She really loved Ozzy.”

Shannon Sharpe Cut From ESPN After Rape Allegation Settlement

Shannon Sharpe has officially parted ways with ESPN less than two weeks after settling a civil lawsuit in which a woman accused him of rape and abuse during their relationship, according to The Athletic.

The former NFL star and media personality has not appeared on the network since late April, shortly after the $50 million lawsuit was filed. ESPN has not issued a public statement regarding his departure.

The civil complaint, filed in April by a woman identified as Jane Doe, alleged that Sharpe sexually assaulted her twice—in October 2024 and January 2025—during a relationship that began in 2023, when the two met at a Los Angeles gym. She also claimed he recorded their intimate encounters without her consent and made threats of violence.

Sharpe denied the accusations, calling the lawsuit a “shakedown” and asserting the relationship was consensual. His attorney, Lanny Davis, said Sharpe had previously offered $10 million to settle the matter before it was filed, but the woman declined.

Last week, the woman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, announced the case had been resolved and dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. No terms of the settlement were disclosed.

Sharpe had previously stated he intended to return to ESPN in time for NFL training camp. That return obviously won’t happen.

Before his media career took off, Sharpe made his name on the football field. A three-time Super Bowl champion, he retired in 2003 as the NFL’s all-time leader among tight ends in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns—milestones later surpassed. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

Following his retirement, Sharpe transitioned into broadcasting, gaining widespread attention as co-host of FS1’s Undisputed alongside Skip Bayless. After leaving that show in 2023, he joined ESPN and launched two successful podcasts, Club Shay Shay and Nightcap, both of which drew millions of subscribers and featured high-profile interviews.

EXCLUSIVE: Roc Nation CEO, Daughter Set For Courtroom Showdown That Includes Meta Rep

Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez will face off with her daughter Demoree Hadley during a hearing in Miami on Thursday (July 31) as part of a high-stakes legal clash over alleged violations of a social media gag order tied to a bitter family lawsuit.

The showdown is set for 2 P.M. before Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis, where Perez‘s legal team will argue that Hadley knowingly broke a court directive by posting restricted content online, including a controversial video and interview clips.

The courtroom drama stems from a lawsuit Hadley filed in May 2025, accusing her mother—the CEO of Roc Nation—of orchestrating her involuntary psychiatric commitment under Florida’s Baker and Marchman Acts.

Hadley claims Perez falsely reported she was suicidal and abusing drugs, which led to her being hospitalized for nearly two weeks.

In the same suit, Hadley also alleges Perez interfered in her marriage by falsely accusing her husband of domestic violence. Perez and Roc Nation have denied all claims and filed motions to dismiss the case and strike specific allegations.

Tensions escalated after the court issued a gag order on June 25, 2025, barring Hadley and her husband from making public statements about the case.

Roc Nation argues that Hadley ignored the order by sharing clips from an interview she conducted with online personality Tasha K, which went viral and drew intense online scrutiny

Roc Nation claims the post was designed to embarrass Desiree Perez and provoke public backlash.

Hadley insists the post was an accident. She says Tasha K tagged her as a collaborator, which automatically published the video to her Instagram page. According to Hadley, she removed the post as soon as she realized it violated the order.

Roc Nation contends the move was intentional and claims it led to a surge in threatening messages directed at Perez and her legal team, including death threats.

The situation worsened when Hadley posted a second video featuring a private conversation between Perez and her stepsister.

The footage, allegedly obtained through a home security system owned by Perez, included discussions about Roc Nation and personal matters unrelated to the lawsuit.

To support their case, Roc Nation plans to call multiple witnesses, including Alistair Thompson from Guidepost Solutions LLC and a representative from Meta Platforms Inc.

Hadley and her husband, Javon, may also be asked to testify to verify the authenticity of the social media posts.

Hadley’s attorneys argue the post was not deliberate and say their client acted quickly to comply with the court’s order. They plan to challenge the severity of the accusations and oppose any disciplinary action.

Perez is asking the court to issue a new order forcing Hadley to delete all related posts and banning her from sharing any further content about the case.

The court may also impose sanctions on Hadley, including possible contempt charges.

The outcome of the July 31 hearing could influence the direction of the broader lawsuit, which is scheduled for a jury trial on October 5, 2026.

Karrueche Tran, Coach Prime & Internet Side-Eyes: Are They Dating Or…Godfamily?

Karrueche Tran and Deion Sanders have the Internet all caught up. It’s a mess out here. First came the tears, then came the bedside vigil. Now comes the rumor that has me rubbing my temples. People are saying Karrueche Tran is really Coach Prime’s goddaughter. WTHELLY?

Let’s run it back.

Last week, Karrueche Tran was front and center in a new docu-series, For Your Glory, produced by Deion Sanders Jr. In the footage, the actress/model was seen weeping at the hospital as Sanders underwent surgery to remove cancer from his bladder. It was hard to watch. She held his hand and asked the hard questions. All we saw was a devoted partner or really invested family member. The internet chose… the former. But then there are the rumors.

The dating rumors are hitting harder than Ray Lewis. Folks can’t help but mention the 20-year age gap. Deion Sanders is 57 (almost 58). Karrueche Tran is 37 and glowing. He’s recovering from a major surgery. She’s in what society insists is her “prime.” Love can come in different forms, people.

But it does get murky. What if she’s actually his goddaughter? The chatter was that Karrueche Tran’s father was once a football player and that’s how she and Sanders became family. Based on what I have looked up, (which is simply Google), it’s not checking out.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Digi-archives don’t show any substantial info about her father being in the NFL or even affiliated with Deion Sanders. Honestly, her dad has been respectfully absent from the public eye or something else…just M.I.A. The court of public opinion is still looking. Social media detectives have been dusting off old Karrueche Tran pics, digging through vacation shots and questioning it all. They say she’s trying to “secure the bag.”

Sanders definitely has a bag to be secured. He’s worth somewhere from $45 million to $70 million. Either number makes him one of the most valuable coach/influencers in the country. Neither Karrueche Tran or Coach Prime have said a word.

Honestly, I just hope he’s got someone solid by his side. Whether she’s the girlfriend, goddaughter or just a compassionate companion. If Karrueche Tran is there for love—good. And if she’s not? Well, as long as she’s helping him heal—keep it up. Keep his spirits high. They are both deeply religious and that might be the true connective tissue. This has to be a spiritually, emotionally and physically grueling recovery. God can get us through all things.

Coach Prime is reportedly staying in the game. Personally, I’d like to see him get some real rest. But if he’s gonna keep pushing, he’ll need support. We’ll stay on this one.
