We have tragic news to report from the world of music today.
Rock legend Bob Weir — a founding member of the Grateful Dead — has passed away.
He was 78 years old.
News of Weir’s death comes courtesy of a social media post from his family, who revealed that he had been battling cancer and “lung issues” for the past year.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Bobby Weir,” the statement read.
“He transitioned peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after courageously beating cancer as only Bobby could. Unfortunately, he succumbed to underlying lung issues.”
The family went on to reveal that Weir continued doing what he loved until his final days.
“Bobby’s final months reflected the same spirit that defined his life. Diagnosed in July, he began treatment only weeks before returning to his hometown stage for a three-night celebration of 60 years of music at Golden Gate Park,” the statement countinued.
“Those performances, emotional, soulful, and full of light, were not farewells, but gifts. Another act of resilience. An artist choosing, even then, to keep going by his own design.
“As we remember Bobby, it’s hard not to feel the echo of the way he lived. A man driftin’ and dreamin’, never worrying if the road would lead him home. A child of countless trees. A child of boundless seas.”
Born in San Francisco in 1947, Weir befriended future bandmate Jerry Garcia after they met at a Palo Alto instrument store on New Year’s Eve of 1963.
Together, the two would form one of the most influential bands in music history, essentially founding the genre of psychedelic rock.
The Dead went on to tour for decades, even after Garcia’s death in 1995.
While the lineup changed frequently — and included many Dead fans-turned-collaborators, like John Mayer — Weir remained a staple.
In addition to his work with the Dead, Weir founded several other groups, including the Bob Weir Band, Bobby and the Midnites, RatDog, and Furthur, which he co-led with former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, who passed away in 2024.
News of Weir’s passing made him an instant trending topic across social media, as millions of fans rushed to pay tribute.

We have tragic news to report out of Hollywood today.
Thomas Kenty “TK” Carter — the beloved character actor best known for his work in films like The Thing and TV shows like Punky Brewster — has passed away.
He was 69 years old.
News of the actor’s passing comes courtesy of TMZ, who reports that Carter was found dead on Friday in his Duarte, California home after calling 911.
Carter’s cause of death has not been disclosed, but foul play is not expected.
Born in New York City in 1956, Carter was raised outside of Los Angeles, where he began performing standup comedy at the age of 12.
He would go on to perform at such iconic venues as The Comedy Store.
Though he racked up dozens of rolls over the course of his decades-long career, Kent is likely best remembered for two beloved performances he delivered in thr ’80s:
Horror fans will likely recall his work as the rollerskating chef Nauls in John Carpenter’s 1982 classic The Thing.
While fans of Gen X-era television may remember Carter’s work as Mike Fulton in the first two seasons of Punky Brewster.
Carter also played Mylo in Good Morning, Miss Bliss, the sitcom that was later retooled and retitled as Saved By the Bell.
Carter made appearances on numerous classic TV shows over the years, including such beloved series as Good Times, The Waltons, The Jeffersons, Just Our Luck, 227, Good Morning, Family Matters, The Sinbad Show, Moesha, The Steve Harvey Show, The Nanny.
Numerous friends, fans, and colleagues have paid tribute to Carter on social media, including fellow actor Shavar Ross.
“As a young kid, I looked up to TK because seeing an African American actor starring in a major film meant a lot to me. I always felt he was headed for stardom,” Ross wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“Over the years, TK and I became good friends, and we hung out together sometimes. I want to send my heartfelt condolences to his family, his friends, and everyone who loved and admired his work. He will always be remembered and respected.”

Some very disturbing news this weekend out of Hollywood:
Timothy Busfield — a veteran actor and director who is married to Melissa Gilbert — is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse.
In an arrest warrant issued by the Albuquerque Police Department on January 9, authorities claim that Busfield engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with two 11-year-old siblings… whose identities were withheld from the public.
One of the minors says the incidents began when he was 7 years old.
This individual alleged the first incident involved Busfield touching him three or four times… and that the 68-year old also touched him five or six times on another occasion when he was 8.
While speaking with Officer Marvin Kirk Brown, who issued the warrant, the victims’ parents said the minors were actors who met Busfield on the set of the FOX series The Cleaning Lady, where Busfield served as a director.
In a statement to People Magazine, a Warner Bros. Television representative said the following:
“The health and safety of our cast and crew is always our top priority, especially the safety of minors on our productions. We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and have systems in place to promptly and thoroughly investigate, and when needed, take appropriate action.”
No one associated with Busfield has commented at this point on the accusations.
The investigation got underway in November 2024 when the investigator responded to a call from a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital. The child’s parents had gone there at the recommendation of a law firm, the complaint states.
Busfield is best known for appearances on The West Wing, Field of Dreams” and Thirtysomething, the latter of which won him an Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series in 1991.
Officer Brown says the aforementioned siblings claim Busfield “would tickle them on the stomach and legs” and that they referred to him as “Uncle Tim.”
On October 3, 2025, the kids’ mother filed a police report and told Child Protective Services that “her children both disclosed that there was sexual abuse by Timothy from around November 2022 to Spring 2024.”
A therapist who worked with one of the supposed victims is on record as saying the child began “having nightmares about the director touching him and waking up scared,” and claimed Busfield “had touched and rubbed his penis 3 or 4 times and appeared to be ashamed,” per the warrant.
Busfield also faced prior sexual assault allegations dating back to 1994, according to the warrant.

We have shocking news to report from the world of social media today.
A streamer named Sergio Jimenez passed away on New Year’s Eve, and his final moments were broadcast via livestream.
Popular on streaming platforms like Kick and Twitch, Sergio was more commonly known “Sssanchopanza.”
According to a report from People, Jimenez consumed large quantities of alcohol and drugs as his audience urged him on.
The Spanish streamer gained a larger following in October, thanks to his collaboration with a better-known influencer named Simon Perez, who is known for using drugs on camera.
Perez alleged that Jimenez consumed six grams of cocaine on the night of his death.
He also stated that he has been in contact with Jimenez’s brother, who confirmed reports that he was also drinking on the night of his death.
Police in Catalonia, Spain have launched an investigation into Jiménez’s death and ordered that an autopsy be conducted on his body.
Though there’s been no confirmation, multiple social media accounts (including the one linked below) claim that Jimenez was participating in a “dare-for-pay” challenge, in which streamers participate in increasingly extreme behaviors in exchange for donations from viewers.
One account alleges that Jimenez “pledged to consume a bottle of whiskey and six grams of cocaine” in exchange for money.
Those quantities have not been confirmed, but sources close to the situation seem to believe that the combination of alcohol and cocaine factored into his death.
Police in Catalonia have not confirmed that Jimenez was participating in a challenge, but they did issue a statement urging young people not to participate in “viral challenges” that could “put your life or your physical integrity in danger.”

Kate Gosselin made it official in November:
Now, however, plenty of observers around the Internet are wondering if she and this man have also made their relationship official.
Which is to say a lot more clearly: Did Kate Gosselin get married?!?
The mom of eight stirred up speculation that she exchanged vows with her boyfriend and former bodyguard, Steve Neild, in a TikTok post on January 7.
In the footage, which Neild recorded, she’s looking through a shop in New Zealand and has a ring that resembles a wedding band on her ring finger.
A bunch of followers took note and came right ask to inquire over the piece of jewelry.
“Whooaaaa. Did you get married?” one person asked very simply.
As it turns out, these same followers were in for a disappointment.
“No lol,” the polarizing personality responded. “That’s just my regular jewelry.”
Gosselin concluded the video by telling her followers that she spent the equivalent of over $170 in the store.
“And my GoFundMe, Steve, treated me to a few items,” she said. “But he also got a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. It’s really rare that he buys himself any clothing, so I’m really happy and proud of him.”
“Now we’re going to the beach!” she said as the video wrapped up.
This past fall, Gosselin revealed that she was in a relationship, as she told fans in a TikTok she was “super, super happy” and had been dating the mystery man for “a little over a year.”
Her son, Collin, and ex-husband, Jon, fired back shortly after this announcement, though, claiming that Kate has cheated on Jon way back in the day with this same person.
“Guess who really ruined the marriage,” Jon wrote in response at the time.
Collin, for his part, alleged that his mom “had an affair with our bodyguard way back in 2009 and for years would share hotel rooms with him while we went on family vacations” via his Instagram Stories.
“I feel very strongly on the matter of cheating and then blaming someone else for your own actions,” the 21-year old wrote. “Everyone says my dad and I are hung up on my mom. We are not. We have suffered the damage of a narcissist and cried together.”
Jon, meanwhile, remarried in November 2025, saying “I do” to Stephanie Lebo in Pennsylvania. His daughter Hannah, along with Collin, were in attendance.
Collin told Entertainment Tonight he was “very happy,” adding to this outlet:
“With everything he’s been through, it just highlighted even more for me that he’s really deserving of this.”

An 80th birthday celebration is a monumental occasion.
It is truly unfortunate that Dolly Parton will not get to see hers.
Several months ago, the national treasure revealed health challenges while canceling shows.
But this, unfortunately, is a bigger deal than having to postpone a Vegas residency.
Where is Dolly?
On Wednesday, January 7, living legend Dolly Parton appeared on the Instagram page of the Grand Ole Opry.
“Well hey there Grand Ole Opry family,” she began the health update video.
“I just wanted to say how much it means to me that you’re all coming together again this year,” she expressed.
Dolly loves that fans are eager “to celebrate my big ol’ birthday with some of my songs.”
The event to which she refers is Saturday, January 17 — though her birthday will be on the following Monday, the 19th.
“Some of my favorite memories happened right here on stage at the Grand Ole Opry,” Dolly gushed in her video.
“And I wish I could be there in person,” she affirmed.
“But,” Dolly assured her fans and followers, “I’ll be sending you all my love, for sure.”
Just because she won’t be there in person doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t celebrate in style, however.
Dolly urged her fans to attend and “have the best night ever.”
2025 was a hard year for her
Late last summer, Dolly postponed her Vegas residency amidst her largely unspecified health issues.
A litany of other canceled public appearances followed in more recent months.
Despite the grim news, Dolly was quick to crack jokes at her own expense.
In particular, she alluded to how much cosmetic surgery she has had over the years.
This time, she told her fans, it wasn’t just a tune-up on her face and body. She’s having health issues.
All along, Dolly has projected an optimistic outlook.
Whatever ails her, she doesn’t believe that it will be terminal.
Instead, she has framed this as “slowing down” for a while so that she can have many more years of fun and laughter.
It is of course important to note that Dolly’s husband died late last winter. That was ten months ago. He was 82.
Sometimes, a spouse passes away and the widow or widower keeps their memory alive for years or decades to come. But, other times, the heartbreak leads one spouse to follow the other sooner than anyone would like.
What’s making her sick?
One of Dolly’s ailments was a kidney stone. We know that much.
However, it’s clear that there is some sort of broader health issue that she and her medical team are addressing.
It would be irresponsible to speculate wildly on what it might be until we have more information.
Instead, we will simply wish her the best.
Happy early 80th birthday, Dolly. You’re a treasure, and we wish you many many more.

Is Kendall gay?
The 30-year-old model, tequila mogul, and reality TV personality has been a hot topic of speculation.
(Despite some very high-profile relationships with some of the most famously desired men in the world)
Kendall is thoughtfully discussing her sexuality. She has an answer, but it’s not as cut-and-dry as you might think.
Is Kendall Jenner gay?
On the Friday, January 9 episode of Owen Thiele’s In Your Dreams podcast, Kendall weighed in on the longstanding gay rumors.
“There’s the whole side of the internet that thinks I’m a lesbian,” she acknowledged.
It’s true!
Wait, sorry. It’s true that there is a whole side of the internet that believes that Kendall is a closeted lesbian.
This crowd is less high profile than the Gaylors (people who believe that Taylor Swift is gay, some of whom felt betrayed and confused over her engagement news). But they exist.
Though Kendall is in many ways the most relatable of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, many of her fellow Millennials (and Zoomers like her elder niblings) might not relate to this.
She’s not gay. She’s not bi. She’s not ace. Kendall does not identify as any part of the LGBTQ+ community — and promises that she’d come out if she were.
“I understand that coming out is not an easy thing for anybody, if not most people,” she acknowledged.
“And I’m not saying that’s an easy thing, but knowing, and I can speak for myself here,” Kendall noted.
She added: “And knowing myself, I think at this point in my life I’d be out if I was.”
She knows that she’d have a much easier time than most
To be clear, Kendall acknowledged that coming out is not necessarily “an easy thing.”
But then, neither is being closeted. Our homophobic society doesn’t make life easy.
“Knowing me and knowing how I would want to live my life, I would be” out, she affirmed.
Which is why the “narrative” that she’s gay or bi and is “hiding this thing” from her fans bothers her.
“I’ve seen really f–ked up things that are like, ‘It’s bad for business,’ and I’m like, ‘What? How?’ I don’t understand it,” Kendall expressed.
It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly where this speculation about Kendall’s sexuality originates. Probably because there are different things.
For some, it’s that Kendall is tall, likes sports, and has certain features that just feel a little sapphic. A combination of stereotypes and gaydar.
Others may unfairly be roping anyone who’s ever been a close friend of Cara Delevigne into the LGBTQ+ umbrella. Folks, Cara is a real person, not a velociraptor. She has friends who are just her friends.
Also, one of Kendall’s most widely relatable characteristics is that she is the only one of Ker-Jenner siblings who doesn’t have kids. That’s normal for Millennials, but some have turned this into “evidence” of her sexuality.
As for Kendall, she believes that it’s because she’s kind of private about her dating life — when you compare her famous liaisons to those of her sisters. She’s photographed on dates, they showcase their men on social media.
‘But I don’t know! Who knows?!’
“All’s to say, as of today, I am not [gay],” Kendall affirmed.
She then amended: “I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to experiences in life.”
Kendall later elaborated: “I don’t think I have a bisexual or gay bone in my body, but I don’t know! Who knows?!”
She added: “I’m all down for experience — not against it whatsoever — but I’ve never been there before.”
Presumably, she’ll let us know if that changes. This is a very solid answer, particularly from a straight woman who has every right to feel annoyed at the rampant speculation about her sexuality.

In the two days since Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent, the incident has sparked one of the most contentious nationwide debates in recent memory.
Millions have reacted with outrage at the sight of a federal agent shooting an unarmed American citizen in broad daylight.
Others have attempted to justify the killing of a 37-year-old mom by claiming that the agent, Jonathan Ross, feared for his life and had no choice but to fire his weapon multiple times.
We’ll leave it up to you to decide if a new video angle helps or hurts that argument.
In footage obtained by TMZ, Ross can he heard saying, “It’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you” as Ross circles her vehicle.
Her wife, Rebecca Good, encourages the officer to “go get some lunch” and assures him that they have no intention of changing their license plates or other.
At that point, Ross repeats, “Get out of the f–king car” (but, crucially, does not present a badge, identify himself, or cite any reason for his demand).
Good responds by reversing her car and then driving away from the scene (previous footage seems to indicate that her tires were pointed away from Ross).
At that point we hear multiple shots fired, followed, seemingly, by Ross uttering, “F–king b-tch.”
Ross seemingly shot the footage himself and therefore does not appear on camera at any point.
As a result, we don’t see him pull the trigger or curse at Good, but the voice we hear in the final seconds of the footage appears to be the same as the one that previously issued the commands.
The new footage has prompted heated reactions across social media:
“Good’s last words to Ross: ‘That’s fine dude, I’m not mad at you. Ross after shooting and killing her seconds later: ‘F–kin’ b-tch,” wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter).
“JESUS CHRIST, HE CALLS HER A ‘F–KING B-TCH’ AFTER MURDERING HER,” another added.
“This video (like the others) does not demonstrate the need for lethal force,” a third pointed out, adding:
Stepping out of the way (which the officer was already doing) and allowing two unarmed civilians to leave the scene is a better outcome than firing three shots at close range to kill one of them.
It remains unclear if Ross will face any criminal charges or even disciplinary action from within his organization.

A 62-year-old Western New York resident had already pled guilty to murdering two women when he shocked police by confessing to a third crime.
In 1976, a woman named Beatrice Meabon was stabbed to death in her home.
Earlier this week, police in the town of Brant, NY reavealed that Richard Fox, now claims he was responsible for the stabbing.
He would have been just 13 years old at the time.
Fox was arrested in January 2025 in connection with the murders of Marquita Mull and Cassandra Watson.
The women were murdered nearly 20 years apart, and Fox confessed to killing them and spreading their remains along a hiking trail.
He was recently sentenced to 40 years in prison for those crimes.
In May of 2025, police searched a home where Fox once lived. They found remains that were later identified as those of a 32-year-old woman named Crystal Curthoys.
Fox has been arraigned on second degree murder charges in connection with Curthoys’ death, but the case has not yet gone to trial.
Perhaps realizing that he’ll spend the remainder of his life behind bars, Fox has now confessed to the stabbing death of his grandmother.
For reasons that are not entirely clear, the Brant Police Department says Fox will not be charged with Meabon’s murder. But they vowed that the matter will be thoroughly investigated.
“Although no charges will be filed regarding the murder of Mrs. Meabon, the victim, family and public deserve the truth of what happened 49 years ago,” Brant police said in a statement (per WKBW).
“Law enforcement is committed to pursuing justice and holding those accountable, no matter how great the passage of time.”
Members of Meabon’s family have not yet spoken publicly about this shocking development.
