On Friday, the Justice Department released a massive collection of photos and documents related to its investigation into deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Numerous public figures were mentioned in the files, including Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
And one message from Ferguson is receiving special attention, as it may have revealed that Epstein became a father before his death in 2019.

“Don’t know if you’re still on this bbm but have heard from The Duke that you have had a baby boy,” Ferguson wrote in September of 2011, referring to Andrew by his formal title, Duke of York.
“Even though you never kept in touch, I still am here with love, friendship, and congratualtions [sic] on your baby boy. Sarah xx.”
In an email sent just ten minutes later, there was an abrupt change in tone, as Ferguson chastised Epstein for failing to keep in touch.
“You have disappeared. I did not even know you were having a baby,” she wrote (via Radar Online), adding:

“It was sooooo crystal clear to me that you were only friends with me to get to Andrew. And that really hurt me deeeply [sic]. More than you will know.”
We’ve known for quite some time that Epstein and Ferguson were friends.
The former Duchess of York was recently forced to apologize when it was revealed that she had remained in contact with Epstein after he was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution.
Ferguson had previously claimed that she ended the friendship after learning of Epstein’s conviction.
This latest batch of emails not only confirms that they remained in contact, it also seems to suggest that Ferguson was the one who pursued a friendship with Epstein.

“You are a legend,” Ferguson gushed in one email.
“I really don’t have the words to describe my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.”
The files contain no other evidence that Epstein had a child, so it’s possible that Ferguson had been misinformed.
The child would be in his teens at this point, and Ferguson’s email is the first known mention of him.
We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.

Where does Jelly Roll stand?
He claims to be too much of a “dumb redneck” (his words, not ours) to know just yet.
Where others used the Grammy Awards to condemn ICE’s siege against American communities, he took a rain check.
He’s going to speak out, he promises. Just … not today.

On Sunday, February 1, Jason Bradley DeFord — best known as Jelly Roll, professionally — took home the award for Best Contemporary Country Album at the Grammy Awards.
After receiving his accolades for Beautifully Broken, a Rolling Stone reporter asked him if he would like to speak out on everything that’s happening in America right now.
Unlike Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, and even DeFord’s own collaboration partner, Shaboozey, he had a different answer.
DeFord said that people shouldn’t “care to hear my opinion.”
He went on to characterize: “You know, I’m a dumb redneck. I haven’t watched enough.”
According to DeFord, he isn’t very political and has been sort of detatched from politics.
This isn’t a recent development. He noted that he has tone 18 months without a phone, has taken breaks from social media, and and feels “disconnected” from current events.
“I hate to be the artist aesthetic, aloof, but I’ve become so disconnected from what’s happening,” DeFord claimed.
He noted: “I grew up in a house insane pandemonium.”
DeFord added: “I didn’t even know politics were f–king real until I was in my mid-twenties in jail.”

“When you grow up in a drug addict household, do you think we have common calls about what’s happening in world politics?” DeFord asked.
He added: “We’re just trying to find a way to survive, man, you know?”
However, DeFord vowed that he will have “a lot to say” and will share this message “in the next week.”
He promised: “Everybody’s going to hear exactly what I have to say about it in the most loud and clear way I’ve ever spoken in my life. So I look forward to it.”
That will certainly be interesting, one way or the other.
Just to put a few things into perspective, DeFord has not exactly lived an apolitical existence.
For one thing, as we have linked above, he previously testified before Congress. His testimony regarded fentanyl use.
That was arguably non-partisan.
However, in 2024, he personally met Donald Trump at a UFC match. That isn’t non-partisan.
It is difficult to understand how someone who testified before Congress and personally met America’s current mad king claims to be detached from politics.

To be clear, we are not accusing DeFord of lying about his feeling of detachment.
It is tragically common for people to claim to be apolitical or disinterested in politics or whatever. Sure, some of them are lying (famously, conservative men claiming to be moderates on dating apps so that they can get laid), but most sincerely believe it when they say it.
That doesn’t make it true. What it actually means is that these individuals feel insulated — normally by money — from life-or-death political realities.
Will DeFord used his speech and platform to speak about his beliefs as a Christian and to invite others to worship his God with him. So he felt prepared to say that much, but not to address our current horrors.
When he does speak up, will he have good things to say?
That would be nice. Many people are speaking to condemn Trump’s forces. But we don’t know. And his decision to delay makes people worry that they’ll be disappointed when he weighs in.

Kim Kardashian has reportedly entered a romantic relationship with one of the most famous athletes on the planet.
And no, we’re not rehashing the old rumor about Kim dating Tom Brady.
This romance is newer, and apparently, things are moving rather quickly. Which makes sense, as Lewis Hamilton makes his living going fast.

Yes, according to The Sun, Kim recently jetted off to the UK to spend a romantic weekend with the seven-time F1 champ.
The pair spent their time together at a secluded Estelle Manor in the Cotswolds, where rooms reportedly start at around $1,400 a night.
That’s actually not obscenely expensive for a celebrity retreat, but you can be sure Lewis and billionaire Kim didn’t book the cheapest room in the place.
“They had a couple’s massage booked in and had full use of the facilities for just the two of them,” the insider said, adding:

“In the evening, they had dinner in a private room so they didn’t have other guests around,” one insider tells The Sun.
“It all appeared to be very romantic. Kim and Lewis made use of all the facilities on offer.”
The source went on to explain that Kim and Lewis went to great lengths to protect their privacy and ensure that they were not disturbed.
“She had two bodyguards with her and Lewis had a close protection officer, but they remained in the background,” they said, adding:
“Two of the three stood guard outside the door to their room, so no one could disturb them.”
The insider says that Kim and Lewis were chauffeured to the 85-acre estate separately, but there was no doubt that they were there for each other.

“Kim’s arrival was very low-key. She was flanked by two bodyguards and was whisked inside,” the source claims.
“An hour later, around 4pm, Lewis landed in a helicopter and walked inside where other guests were mingling around.”
But it seems that despite Kim’s efforts to blend in, she couldn’t help but stand out:
“You couldn’t miss it was her — she had about eight suitcases with her which had her name embossed on the side,” said the source.
“One of her bodyguards was carrying her enormous Birkin bag, it looked so heavy he had to use both his hands to lift it to the car.”
Interestingly, Lewis has a history with Kim’s most recent husband, Kanye West.
And unlike most people who have interacted with Kanye, Lewis only had good things to say about the rapper:
“Kanye said to me: ‘I’m big in the music world but I’m trying to do what I love in fashion and people don’t like it,” he once told a reporter.
“‘You’re big in your racing world but you love your music, and people will probably struggle to accept that You need to do what you love and not give a f—k about what anyone thinks.’”
Hopefully, Lewis didn’t do any Kanye-praising during his romantic weekend with Kim.

Winning Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards was fantastic and well-deserved.
But Billie Eilish may have landed herself another prize.
What’s that on her finger?
Are she and Nat Wolff engaged?

On Sunday, February 1, Billie Eilish received the Grammy for Song of the Year.
“Wildflower” is incredible, mournful, and evokes that same sort of longing that you get from “What Was I Made For,” which was the actual best song in Barbie.
Following her win, Trevor Noah’s quip caused an online stir. But that wasn’t about Billie.
When it came to the singer herself, many eyes focused upon her ring finger.
That looks like a sizable piece of jewelry!
With so much celebrity fashion (and skin) on display, it’s totally understandable if you missed this one little detail of Billie’s ensemble.
(It’s little in terms of the overall outfit — but large in terms of rings)
On her left ring finger, Billie is wearing a sizable diamond ring.
This is, traditionally, where one might wear an engagement ring.
That doesn’t mean that it has to be an engagement ring. But … is it?

By all accounts, Nat Wolff and Billie have only been dating for a little over a year.
That makes this a speedy (but not alarmingly so) engagement … if it is an engagement, that is.
In theory, a ring is just a ring.
Even a sizable ring on one’s left ring finger.
Even if the person wearing it is sitting right next to the partner who may have hypothetically given it to them.
Despite fan enthusiasm, Billie and Nat have been relatively private about their relationship.
To be clear, they’re not hiding anything. He was very visibly by her side at the Grammys, in fact.
But for public figures, they’ve been reasonably circumspect.
That is smart. Protecting their peace and not overexposing their relationship gives them room to breathe.
If this is an engagement, which remains a big “if,” keeping things low-key could become more challenging.

Whatever message Billie may have been sending with her ring, she used her platform to discuss something that is ultimately more important.
Like many others, she used her voice to condemn ICE, an unjustifiable organization that is now acting as Donald Trump’s personal army to terrorize American communities.
Billie quoted that “no one is illegal on stolen land.” She’s not wrong.
Though it’s true that the phrase can be distracting and lead to (pointless, deliberately obtuse) quibbling about histories of conquest, someone who wants to mince words during Stephen Miller’s ethnic cleansing operations is probably not arguing in good faith.
We’re happy for Billie — for her award, for whatever the story behind that ring is, and for her continuing to be an outspoken good person.
