As we previously reported, Presley Gerber passed away at an addiction treatment facility in Southern California over the weekend.
The model son of Cindy Crawford was just 27 years old.
The exact cause of his death remains unknown, but multiple outlets have reported that Presley died of a suspected overdose.
And it sounds like it could have been easily prevented.
According to TMZ, Presley was receiving ketamine from a doctor despite the physician being aware of his previous issues with the drug.
Ketamine can be used in certain addiction-treatment settings, although treating addiction is not its FDA-approved use.
Friends star Matthew Perry died from the effects of ketamine in 2024 after years of battling substance abuse issues.
Presley had reportedly struggled with ketamine abuse for some time, and his close friends are now questioning why he was prescribed the substance, given his history.
Some of those friends reportedly believe the doctor should face prosecution.
That is a serious allegation, however, and there is currently no indication that the doctor has been or will be charged with a crime.
It’s also important to note that authorities have not determined what substances, if any, were in Presley’s system when he died.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has completed an autopsy, but Presley’s official cause and manner of death have been deferred pending additional testing.
Presley died September 20 at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica. Police are investigating his death as a suspected overdose, but authorities have said there is currently no indication of foul play.
The son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber had been open about his struggles with addiction and mental health in recent years.
In December 2025, Presley discussed his complicated medication regimen on social media, which reportedly included ketamine along with several other medications. He also previously spoke publicly about his efforts to overcome addiction and improve his mental health.
The circumstances surrounding his final days are now the subject of an ongoing investigation.
And while the revelation about his alleged access to ketamine is likely to raise plenty of questions, there’s still a major piece of the puzzle missing — namely, what actually caused Presley’s death.
Until the medical examiner completes the additional testing, it would be premature to assume that ketamine played any role in the tragedy.

Taylor Frankie Paul is done with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives — and she’s leaving the Hulu reality show amid a whole lot of drama.
The reality star announced her exit Monday, and in the process, she accused her co-stars of bullying her while she deals with ongoing legal and custody battles involving her exes.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Taylor thanked the network for supporting her and allowing her to return to the show following the chaos surrounding her abruptly canceled season of The Bachelorette.
But she made it clear that she’s no longer interested in continuing under the current circumstances.
“However, I don’t desire to move forward like this,” Taylor wrote.
Taylor also claimed that she had been the target of a months-long “pile on” involving nearly the entire cast.
“Almost the entire cast plus some, going at me….laughing about my kids is disgusting,” she alleged.
Taylor went on to claim that some of the women knew what she had been dealing with over the past several months but continued to criticize her anyway.
She specifically described the situation as “bullying for months,” while also claiming that messages had been sent to her by a group that wanted to push her “to the point of committing suicide.”
She said the messages arrived while she was on her way to film the Season 5 introduction, which helps explain why she did not appear in portions of it.
Naturally, this latest drama comes at a particularly messy time for Taylor.
Her custody battles with ex-husband Tate Paul and ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen have continued to play out amid a series of legal developments.
Just last week, we reported that Taylor had allegedly failed multiple court-ordered drug tests, resulting in her parenting time being reduced to eight hours per week. Taylor has not publicly addressed those allegations.
Taylor’s apparent Mormon Wives exit also comes shortly after co-star Mikayla Matthews announced that she would not continue with the series, citing Taylor’s return as a major reason for her decision.
Mikayla has since doubled down, saying she still does not plan to return despite Taylor’s apparent departure.
As for Taylor, she ended her lengthy statement with a surprisingly somber assessment of the situation.
“It’s a pleasure to remove myself so they can continue,” she wrote, adding that she had nearly convinced herself she deserved “all this pain.”
“My question has been how much suffering and scrutiny is going to be enough…I’m just relieved to be out.”
So, yeah. Whatever happens next for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, it seems increasingly unlikely that the MomTok drama is going away anytime soon.

During his wide-ranging 60 Minutes interview, Patrick Clancy of course discussed his ex-wife’s mistrial.
He spoke of his youngest dying in his arms, about his hopes for the future, and shared that he and his wife are expecting.
Patrick also spoke about both compassion and consequences for Lindsay.
He argued that the two can, and should, coexist.

Speaking to the once-prized 60 Minutes on Sunday, September 20, Patrick Clancy emphasized that compassion and accountability can coexist.
The deaths of the three young Clancy children were horrific.
But, despite what unhinged wingnuts trying to turn this into a culture war flashpoint would say, this was not the product of criminal intention, but of mental illness.
In this complex case, we all have to ask ourselves: what does true justice look like, and is the state equipped to give it?
Patrick has wrestled with that a lot, and had some thoughts to share.
During his interview, Patrick shared the belief that society can find a compassionate way to respond to tragedies like the one that destroyed his family.
He emphasized that “that doesn’t mean ‘no accountability.’”
Compassion, Patrick explained, involves recognizing both the suffering and stigma that surround mental illness.
At the same time, he expressed the importance of finding ways to prevent more families from suffering from tragedies like this one.
Patrick didn’t suggest that he has all of the answers. He doesn’t. It’s likely that no one person does.

We mentioned that some political malefactors and manosphere types have been using the tragedy of the Lindsay Clancy case as a “culture war” touchstone.
Some deeply weird men have used social media to claim that they used the case as a litmus test to evaluate their girlfriends.
(The alleged “male loneliness epidemic” seems to be, if anything, a self-inflicted situation.)
These individuals might say that an acquittal or even a not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity (the latter of which, every reasonable juror had settled upon) would open the floodgates for other moms to kill their kids, claim mental illness, and … what, profit?
But that’s not how this works. There is no deterrent for mental illness, no way to scare someone out of postpartum psychosis.
Postpartum depression is common enough that there are old-timey, folksy names for it, such as the baby blues. Postpartum psychosis is less common, and significantly more dangerous.
Many people have shared their experiences with psychosis and psychotic episodes. For some, it meant taking off their clothes and going outside, under the delusion that this would prevent the world from ending. For others, it meant believing that all of the food in their home was poison, resulting in them throwing away hundreds of dollars in perfectly fine groceries.
As Patrick says, his ex-wife’s mental illness does not mean that she cannot be accountable for her physical actions, but both the courts and society should understand that she was not thinking rationally. She did not decide to do this.
Andrea Yates was, before Lindsay Clancy, perhaps the most famous case of postpartum psychosis resulting in the deaths of all of the sufferer’s children in living memory.
She is still in an institution. Even if Lindsay were to “go free,” she would never be free — and would always be haunted by this life-ruining moment.
For now, it’s unclear if prosecutors will even bother with another trial. It was a mistake to start with, and it backfired.

The months-long investigation into the mysterious death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells has reached a major turning point.
But his family says there are still plenty of unanswered questions.
A Mississippi grand jury has declined to bring criminal charges in connection with Nolan’s death after reviewing evidence surrounding his disappearance from Horn Island over the July Fourth holiday.
Nolan had been celebrating with friends on the Mississippi Gulf Coast on July 4 when he was last seen on the barrier island. His body was discovered two days later.
Today, Jackson County District Attorney Angel Myers McIlrath announced that the grand jury had returned a “no true bill,” meaning prosecutors did not believe there was sufficient evidence to indict anyone.
According to the grand jury report, the 23-member panel heard testimony from 43 witnesses and reviewed physical evidence, police reports, digital evidence, photographs, videos, maps and other investigative materials.
The panel concluded there was no credible evidence that anyone who traveled to or from Horn Island that day engaged in criminal conduct related to Nolan’s death.
The report also addressed questions surrounding Nolan’s decision to remain on the island after some of his friends left.
“Nolan chose to stay on the island that day,” McIlrath said in a recorded statement, adding that there was no evidence contradicting that conclusion.
The circumstances surrounding Nolan’s death have nevertheless remained difficult to explain.
Both the Mississippi medical examiner and an independent forensic pathologist hired by Nolan’s family determined that the cause and manner of death were undetermined. The grand jury report said the location and condition of Nolan’s body were consistent with drowning, while acknowledging that drowning was essentially a diagnosis of exclusion.
Bruising was also found on the back of Nolan’s head. The grand jury determined that the injury was not fatal and found no evidence of a fatal injury or underlying disease.
One witness reported seeing Nolan slip awkwardly from a boat shortly before he was last seen, although the witness could not determine whether he struck his head. The witness said Nolan continued socializing afterward and did not appear injured.
Nolan’s family and their attorney, civil rights lawyer Ben Crump, have continued to question what happened.
Following the grand jury announcement, Crump wrote that “No True Bill Does Not Resolve How Nolan Wells Died,” arguing that the public still deserves a complete account supported by evidence and records.
The grand jury report does leave the door open for the investigation to continue if new evidence emerges.
And considering how many questions have surrounded Nolan’s final hours, this case may not be disappearing from the headlines anytime soon.

Following reports of a hospitalization that spanned months, the 54-year-old actress is showing more than proof of life.
She’s also offering a health update and giving a shoutout to her fans.
Obviously, her MS journey remains ongoing. But this is a promising update.

On Monday, September 21, actress Christina Applegate offered up her first fresh, new Instagram look at herself in months.
(A couple of months ago, she shared some apparent throwbacks — which are great, but not necessarily reassuring to followers.)
“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” she announced in the caption of a short video.
In the video, Applegate shows off her fresh blonde dye job.
“Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day,” she expressed.
“Love you,” Applegate wrote, “and love to you all out there.”
The video shows her wearing a cozy black hoodie and a gray shirt.
She posed, showing off her hair from the front and the side.
Applegate also shared a selfie to her Instagram Story, updating fans on her hair.
Considering that she was in the hospital four four months and only returned home in early August, it looks like she’s doing much better.
She is said to be doing well, relatively speaking

She has multiple sclerosis.
In the second half of April, the actress thanked her fans for “the outpouring of love” while she focused upon her health.
Though she did not initially confirm her hospitalization, she did announce her own homecoming.
Taking to Instagram, she shared the humorous welcome home message that her child left for her.
Seriously, that’s a fantastic way to welcome your mom home from an extended hospitalization.
(It might depend upon your mother and her sense of humor.)
In any case, Applegate was clearly in good spirits — about her homecoming after four months and about her new hair.
Multiple sclerosis impacts a few million people worldwide. There is no cure. It can rob people of so much joy.
It is encouraging to see that Applegate is feeling up to refreshing her look.
