Earlier today, we reported on the news that Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette might air on ABC and Hulu beginning in July.
The news came courtesy of an anonymous tip received by the reliable gossip outlet Deux Moi.
But the tip also contained a different and equally newsworthy claim about the future of the franchise, namely, that Robert Irwin — son of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin — is being vetted as the next Bachelor.
“ABC is hoping to finalize a deal with Robert Irwin to lead the show this fall, but if not, the next choice is Taylor’s runner-up from her season. Should be an exciting next few months for the Bachelor Franchise,” the source wrote in an email.
The speculation that Robert might be tapped to as the next Rosemaster General has been circulating for weeks.
But it really picked up steam today when Deux Moi renewed chatter surrounding the possibility of producers eyeing the conservationist and recent Dancing With the Stars champion for the role.
Yes, Irwin has become something of a breakout reality heartthrob in recent months.
After charming viewers (and apparently everyone with access to social media) during his winning run on DWTS, the 22-year-old has only grown more popular.
And ABC already has a strong working relationship with Robert:
Irwin recently announced he’ll return to television as host of Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, a new spinoff premiering this summer on ABC and Hulu.
Of course, there’s one pretty major obstacle to the whole “Robert as Bachelor” fantasy: would he even want the gig?
Irwin has previously been candid about the challenges of dating while juggling a very public life and major conservation work in Australia.
Earlier this year, he acknowledged that romance can be “challenging to navigate” (via Reality Tea), while emphasizing that he stays true to himself regardless of the spotlight.
Still, fans are already imagining what a Robert Irwin-led season might look like. He’s basically the opposite of Taylor Frankie Paul, and the result could be the most wholesome season in the history of Bachelor Nation.
And frankly, the franchise could probably use the reset.
Nothing has been officially confirmed by ABC, Hulu, or Irwin himself, so for now, the rumor remains just that — a rumor.
But if producers are looking for a lead with genuine charm, built-in fan support, and enough wholesome energy to offset years of franchise chaos, Robert might be the answer.
The Taylor situation might have made producers a little skittish at the thought of a celebrity Bachelor.
But there don’t appear to be any skeletons in Robert’s closet, and he’s already a fan favorite.

Duck Dynasty became a reality TV sensation primarily because it appealed to a conservative, Christian audience who prided themselves on their old-school values.
So some of the Duck diehards might not be too crazy about Al Robertson’s latest message — namely, that if your wife has an affair, you should forgive her.
Yes, Al — who is the eldest son of late Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson — is getting candid about his marriage to wife Lisa Robertson, as well as her infidelity.
The couple is revisiting their difficult past in a new Lifetime movie, Faith & Forgiveness, which explores how Lisa became involved in an extramarital relationship roughly 15 years into their marriage — and how the pair ultimately found a way forward through religion.
Speaking to Fox News, Al explained why he believes betrayal does not automatically have to mean divorce.
“When unfaithfulness happens in a marriage, so many times, that’s the end of it, but it doesn’t have to be,” Robertson said. “Everything can be worked through.”
That perspective, he admitted, came in part from recognizing his own shortcomings.
“I think the reason I was willing to fight for my marriage was that I had made a lot of mistakes on my own,” he shared.
“When I first met Lisa, she was actually a good girl, who had experienced some hard things in her life up until that point, but really was looking for what she called her ‘knight in shining armor,’ someone to take her hand and lead her out of some things. And I just wasn’t that guy in the early years.”
The couple’s story stretches back decades.
As they explained to Fox News, Al and Lisa first met as teenagers in a McDonald’s parking lot in West Monroe, Louisiana, eventually marrying in 1984 after an on-and-off relationship.
After welcoming two daughters, Al served as a pastor while Lisa reportedly struggled with loneliness and isolation during stretches when he was away.
Now, rather than hiding from that painful chapter, the couple is choosing to share it publicly in hopes of helping others facing similar struggles.
And while not every relationship survives betrayal, Al says he hopes their story serves as proof that some marriages can recover.

Even with the recent ghoulish cash-grab biopic about Michael Jackson, it’s good to remember that there are other members of the famous family.
Jermaine was the second vocalist to his deceased brother.
He has also been accused of rape, with the accuser filing a lawsuit.
The court has now ordered Jermaine to pay out millions — but there’s an odd element to this case.
That’s a LOT of money to pay after never showing up to court
Jermaine — who modified his surname to read “Jacksun” in 2013, a few years following his conversion to Islam — stood by his infamous brother through his court cases and continued to do so after his death.
He is the father of both Jaafar — who starred in the controversial biopic, Michael — and Jermajesty.
In December 2023, a woman named Rita Butler Barrett filed a lawsuit against Jermaine.
She accused the musician of having showed up unexpectedly at her home in 1988 and raped her.
In her filing, Barrett sought financial damages to the tune of millions. How much did she get?

The court has now ordered Jermaine to pay over $6.5 million in damages and court costs, TMZ reports.
(The sum also covers medical expenses that Barrett identified.)
In an odd twist, this isn’t because a jury sided with his accuser. And this wasn’t a bench trial, either.
Instead, the court entered a default judgment against Jermaine.
It seems that he never responded to the lawsuit, never showing up to court in person or by way of a representative.
Is there a reason to ignore the lawsuit instead of challenging it in court?
In Barrett’s lawsuit, filed under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act, she alleged that Jermaine showed up at her Encino home in the spring of 1988.
His presence was unexpected, she said.
Jermaine then allegedly proceeded to violently rape her for several minutes, until he stopped and departed.
The attack left her traumatized, and she also shared medical costs that she incurred as a result.
Her attorneys were unable to reach Jermaine to serve him with notice of the lawsuit. The court approved of an extraordinary measure, serving him with notice via The Los Angeles Times. Seemingly, that did not work, either.
It is theoretically possible that Jermaine never learned of the lawsuit filed against him, even though it has been years since the filing.
For example, it is conceivable that he is surrounded exclusively by “yes-men” types who wouldn’t bring it up to him, even with the publication of the lawsuit.
If so, one imagines that Jermaine will challenge the default judgment. Of course, that means that Barrett will get her long-awaited day in court.
Alternatively, some have speculated that avoiding responding to a lawsuit is a PR strategy. Rather than enter an out-of-court settlement or make headlines with a legal battle, quietly paying a court-ordered default judgment is a strategy that some might hope to employ without ever having to answer questions, submit evidence, or work out a deal.
It may be that Jermaine will not respond to the suit, vowing to prove his innocence. Hypothetically, someone with a guilty conscience might simply pay the default judgment without comment — neither admitting to or denying wrongdoing. But who’s to say what’s on his mind?

If you’re a longtime Eminem fan, then you’re probably aware of his troubled ex-wife, Kim Mathers.
Em and Kim’s troubled relationship inspired many of his early hits, but the story seemed to come to an unexpectedly happy ending when he got sober, and the two of them worked out an amicable co-parenting relationship.
But Kim has now had two major brushes with the law in the past three months, so clearly her troubles didn’t subside when her ex’s did.
According to a new report from TMZ, Kim was arrested and booked on a suspected DUI charge at Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens, Michigan earlier this week.
Kim allegedly struck another car while driving in the 21 Mile Zone near Detroit at around 9:20 pm on Wednesday.
The arrest came just two days after Kim pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors connected to a previous crash.
Sadly, Kim has a history of driving while intoxicated.
Mathers has attempted suicide on multiple occasions, and at least one of those attempts involved getting behind the wheel while drunk.
It does not appear that Kim was attempting to harm herself or anyone else on this occasion.
Kim was already facing charges of impaired driving and failure to report an accident from her previous crash.
Police say Kim took off after she crashed into a parked car on her street while taking her son, Parker, and his friends shopping.
She allegedly fled to her home and crashed into her garage door upon arrival. Video from the arrest shows Kim taking a breathalyzer, and cops say they found soda bottles spiked with liquor in her car.
She’s scheduled to be sentenced in June. TMZ reports that Kim has been released following her latest arrest.
Kim and Eminem were married from 1999 to 2001. They briefly remarried in 2006 before divorcing for good.

Justice delayed is justice denied.
In the 1990s, Richard Glossip was convicted of murder-for-hire and sentenced to death in a case that almost entirely hinged upon the testimony of a teenage murderer.
It was not until this year — nearly three decades after he first went on Oklahoma’s death row — that Glossip was permitted to get a new trial.
After 29 years and three times strapped to the table (before last-minute reprieves), he’s out on bail — thanks to one of the country’s most famous influencers.
The state nearly killed this man three times
Film producer Scott Budnick took to Instagram late on Thursday, May 14 to share an announcement.
“BREAKING NEWS – AFTER 29 YEARS INNOCENT ON OKLAHOMA’S DEATH ROW,” Budnick began, “RICHARD GLOSSIP WALKED OUT AS A FREE MAN THIS AFTERNOON!!!!”
Admittedly, freedom in this case was not free. Cash bail continues to separate the rich from the poor.
“Well, he has to be released on bail,” Budnick added.
The good news, he continued, is that Glossip’s bail “was GRACIOUSLY paid for immediately by @kimkardashian who’s been fighting for Rich’s freedom for years.”
“Even though EVERY Democrat and Republican in OK knew he was innocent,” Budnick continued, “he was strapped to the execution table THREE times and three times given a last second reprieve.”
We do recommend that people look up a list of the legal absurdities that have haunted Glossip, including evidence that was never handed over, paper-thin arguments, and what appear to be numerous provable lies from the man who avoided the death penalty by testifying against him.
“Tonight he is home in his wife Lea’s arms, for the first time EVER,” Budnick announced.
“Thank you to @itsjasonflom and @kimkardashian for putting Richard’s case on my radar,” Budnick expressed. “And for amplifying this injustice to millions.”
Budnick’s caption concluded: “Now that Rich’s old conviction has been thrown out, the Oklahoma DA is trying to recharge him 30 years later. That is the next step of the fight. STAY TUNED.”
His case is infamous and extraordinary, only in part due to lack of evidence
In 1997, a man named Justin Sneed beat motel owner Barry Van Treese to death with a baseball bat.
Though his initial statements did not mention Richard Glossip, he later claimed that Glossip — who worked as a manager at the motel (where Sneed worked as the maintenance man) — had hired him to do it.
In testifying to this, Sneed received life without parole but avoided the death penalty for the savage killing.
Even the twisted and corrupt version of the United States Supreme Court that is in power today could see that this case was a grievous miscarriage of justice.
Last year, SCOTUS tossed out the conviction. Prosecutors are retrying him for murder — though it’s unclear what evidence they plan to present.
The good news is that prosecutors will not be seeking the death penalty this time around.
Many people misunderstand the question of capital punishment to be wondering whether evil people deserve to die. Some would say no, others would say yes. But that is not the key question of executing people.
Capital punishment instead hinges upon whether one can trust the state to condemn people to die. The Glossip case seems to perfectly exemplify one of the many reasons for which we cannot.
Though we are justifiably critical of Kim Kardashian at times, we continue to applaud her when she uses her money and platform for good. Paying for this man’s $500k bail is a good use of her wealth and power.
Unless some damning evidence that has remain hidden for 29 years suddenly pops up, we wish Glossip well at his retrial. And in lawsuits over his wrongful conviction and repeated brushes with death at the hands of our broken system.

Taylor Frankie Paul is set to return to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives despite a tumultuous news cycle and some fallen friendships.
After everything that the public has learned, Dakota Mortensen will not be joining her.
Thinking back on her relationship, she accuses him of gaslighting her — but still blames herself for not leaving him sooner.
Her reflections are really resonating with commenters, many of whom find her story chillingly familiar to their own.
‘You don’t even realize … what’s happening psychologically for a long time’
In a lengthy Instagram post, Taylor says that she blames herself for not leaving her toxic and abusive relationship with Dakota Mortensen much sooner.
She and Dakota share a child, 2-year-old Ever.
Taylor admits to having kept quiet about many of her private struggles.
This, she says, is how Dakota was able to take “advantage” of her situation and continue to allegedly mistreat her.
“What people aren’t understanding is you don’t even realize you’re in it and what’s happening psychologically for a long time,” Taylor wrote.
“You solely believe you’re the only insane one,” Taylor said, speaking from experience.
She explained that this is “because they twist everything that you eventually feel insane.”
Taylor went on to alleged that Dakota had been “gaslighting” her into staying with him.
She expressed that it feels “twisted” that this went on for so long, again blaming herself.
Some folks use gaslighting when they really mean lying, particularly in a political sense. But actual gaslighting can and does take place within abusive relationships.
Eventually, of course, the relationship did end
Taylor wrote that, when she finally left Dakota, she was “manipulated,” then “threatened,” then “physically hurt.”
And that was not the end of it.
She had the police called on her. A years-old video was released in an attempt to sabotage her relationship and personal success as The Bachelorette.
She lost her friends. Her reality TV series went on hiatus for over a month.
And Taylor has also ended up in court, fighting desperately for custody of Ever.
“The difference between us, my love was real for him without gaining anything, and people know that,” Taylor wrote about her ex.
She admitted that she is “not sure it was the same in return.”
Taylor went on to characterize that she and Dakota are “both in the wrong” in multiple ways, but she’s calling him out for trying to take her child from her on top of everything else.
She also addressed her recent rift with Mikayla Matthews. And no, it isn’t to apologize.
“She can go kick rocks instead of kicking me right now,” Taylor announced.
