We have a shocking story to report from the world of social media today.
Popular TikTok influencer Gabbie Gonzalez has been arrested for allegedly plotting a conspiracy to kill singer Jack Avery, who is the father of her only child.
According to TMZ, Gabbie’s father, Francisco Gonzalez, has also been arrested in connection with the conspiracy.
Insiders tell the outlet that Gabbie had been waging a custody battle with Jack over their 7-year-old daughter, Lavender.
Witnesses told police that Francisco remarked that it would be cheaper if Jack were dead.
Gabbie was reportedly arrested in Humboldt County, California on Monday while she was attempting to board a flight.
She is currently behind bars without bail in Los Angeles.
Her father was arrested in Florida and has not yet been extradited to California.
Jack is a member of the boy band Why Don’t We.
In a recent interview, he revealed that he had been visited by the FBI, and agents informed him that they had reason to believe someone had attempted to have him killed.
Avery stated that he knew the names of the alleged conspirators but was not at liberty to disclose them.
Asked why someone might wish to have him killed, Avery replied, “To get stress out of their life.” Asked what stress he might be bringing to someone’s life, Jack replied, “None.”
Jack went on to state that he was traumatized by news of the conspiracy, and he began to abuse alcohol as a result of his fragile mental state.
He has not yet spoken publicly about the news that Gabbie and her father have been arrested.
With more than 1 million followers on TikTok alone, Gabbie is one of the best-known influencer moms on social media.

Disgraced former reality star Joseph Duggar is accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl in 2020.
Though he reportedly confessed twice, the father of four pleaded not guilty and is pushing ahead with his defense — which may force the young victim to testify.
Joseph’s legal team successfully convinced the court to grant access to investigators, so that his attorneys can grill child safety workers.
He has also asked the court to allow him to see his own children, arguing that the victim in this case is not his relative.
This is a small legal win as his team prepares for trial
TMZ obtained court documents showing that the judge is giving Joseph considerable leeway in his defense.
On Monday, May 18, the court ruled that the latest disgraced Duggar’s legal team may depose investigators as witnesses.
That includes people from the Department of Children & Families, the Child Protection Team, and the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Some of the records for these groups are usually protected by law — in the interests of continuing to protect children.
Yet, in this case, the agencies will have to turn over evidence — videos, audio recordings, and physical evidence — as part of the discovery process, for Joseph’s attorneys to review as they construct their case.
In general, it sucks to think of an accused predators attorneys getting hold of evidence only to try to get it excluded from the trial, or to find “experts” to testify that some piece of evidence is invalid.
But to deny them access to key evidence that the prosecution will use to build their case would violate Joseph’s rights.
(We know that that doesn’t sound bad. But we have to remember that some people accused of heinous things are innocent. We make no such claim about Joseph, of course.)
When prosecutors withhold potentially exculpatory evidence from the defense, it is called a Brady violation. You are not allowed to do that.
Just ask the prosecutor who went after Alec Baldwin a couple of years ago. How did that end? It’s not what anyone outside of the cult wants to happen at Joseph’s trial.
He wants contact with his kids, despite charges in two states
Joseph has not been permitted to communicate with his own children since early this spring.
His attorneys argue that, since the victim in this case is not one of his own children,
They also point out that, legally speaking, Joseph is considered innocent in the eyes of the law.
That means that, though people may condemn him and loathe him, the court must balance public safety with the rights of a potentially innocent man.
In response to Joseph’s request for the no-contact order to be amended, the judge scheduled a pretrial hearing for July, where the court will hear arguments.
Joseph is not the only member of his family to be in trouble with the law. And no, this time, we’re not referring to his incarcerated older brother, Joseph Duggar.
He and Kendra are both facing multiple charges of false imprisonment and child endangerment.
These charges stem from what investigators found when they searched the couple’s Arkansas house — a search that was automatic, in light of Joseph’s charges in Florida.
Both Joseph and Kendra have pleaded not guilty to those charges, too.
It’s unclear what arguments Joseph’s team will present at the July hearing, or how the court will rule.
But we know that the IBLP cult has historically instructed women to bring their children to see their incarcerated husbands — yes, even if the husband is a convicted predator. This is not exactly an unprecedented situation in the cult.

As we previously reported, Eminem’s ex-wife, Kim Mathers, was arrested on suspicion of DUI last week.
The arrest came just days after Kim pleaded no contest in connection with a previous traffic violation that resulted in a crash.
Now, Kim’s latest mug shots are receiving quite a bit of attention online, as social media users are expressing their shock at her appearance.
Now to be fair, Kim is not usually a public figure, so we haven’t laid eyes on her in a few years.
And she’s in her fifties now, so we’re not sure why folks thought she would look the same as she did when Em’s career first exploded over 27 years ago.
But this is social media we’re talking about, where hot takes reign supreme, and a whole lot of people seem unfamiliar with the concept of aging.

And at least Kim appears to be in good spirits!
This image is Kim’s mug shot from her arrest back in February, when, police say, she took off after she crashed into a parked car on her street while taking her son, Parker, and his friends shopping.
Kim allegedly fled to her home and crashed into her garage door upon arrival.
Video from the arrest shows Kim taking a breathalyzer, and cops say they found soda bottles spiked with liquor in her car. She’s scheduled to be sentenced for that incident in June.
According to a report from TMZ, Kim’s more recent arrest led to her being booked into the Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens, Michigan last week.
Kim allegedly struck another car while driving in the 21 Mile Zone near Detroit at around 9:20 pm on Wednesday.
The arrest came just two days after Kim pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors connected to her previous crash.
Sadly, Kim has a history of driving while intoxicated.
Mathers has attempted suicide on multiple occasions, and at least one of those attempts involved getting behind the wheel while drunk.
At the time of her latest arrest, Kim was already facing charges of impaired driving and failure to report an accident from her previous crash.
Kim and Eminem were married from 1999 to 2001. They briefly remarried in 2006 before divorcing for good.
Neither party has commented publicly on these recent events.

In her new book, This Is Me: A Reckoning, Hayden writes about yet another harrowing brush with a powerful man.
Just as in her narrow escape from an A-list actor on a yacht at 18, she does not name the man in question.
This time, she says, she was 19.
Hayden writes that she had been at a gathering, but was leaving — after growing uncomfortable after speaking to a group of men.
This is when, she says, a “well-respected” Oscar winning actor approached her.
Hayden was putting on a coat at the time.
In her book, she writes, the man complained about “gum” that was stuck to his pants.
When Hayden’s eyes looked to where he indicated, she did not see a piece of gum stuck to the fabric.
What she saw was worse.
Hayden’s gaze fell upon the actor’s scrotum, which he had apparently freed from the fly of his pants as some sort of appalling practical joke.

‘I was shocked’
She wasn’t laughing. She was repulsed.
Sexual misconduct, such as exposing your genitals to a teenager without consent, doesn’t have a “but your honor, I’m just a silly little guy, it was a prank” exception.
Upon refection, Hayden called the moment a “head-scratcher” for her.
“It hadn’t hurt me and I was sure it was a drunken joke,” Hayden writes.
“But,” she continues, “I’d never seen a grown man do something like that. I was shocked.”
At the time, Hayden opted to not describe the balls-baring “prank” to her friends.
She explains that “the moment had passed.” She also chalked it up to some people just not having good manners.
Sometimes, sexual misconduct like this is genuinely that — people who don’t know how to behave. Other times, it’s someone’s effort to test the waters to see how much they can get away with before escalating.
We won’t try to tell Hayden what she “should” have done, whether it was tell someone or tell the guy to eff off. She was in that situation. Reporting something like that, or even sharing what happened, is not always safe.
Hayden deserves to share her story. And though actual consequences for famous, powerful men are exceptionally rare, it sounds like there are some prominent faces in the entertainment industry who should thank their lucky stars that she didn’t name names in this book.

Wedding bells are ringing.
With no end to the ongoing ballroom fiasco in sight, the White House isn’t looking like a prime wedding venue any time soon.
Donald Trump Jr. and fiancee Bettina Anderson are reportedly aiming for a more remote site for their nuptials.
The wedding date is apparently soon. Like, very soon.
When is the least-anticipated wedding of 2026?
Page Six reports that Don Jr. and Bettina Anderson will be marrying over Memorial Day weekend.
This year, Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 25 — the earliest date on which the holiday can take place.
The holiday weekend, therefore, begins on Saturday, May 23.
Don Jr. and Anderson will reportedly marry in front of a relatively small cluster of guests on a private island in the Bahamas. This crowd sure loves private islands, it seems.
The guest list will reportedly include family and friends, which is pretty standard for a wedding.
Previous reports listed how the couple were apparently in a rush to tie the knot.
Back in April, Page Six reported on the alleged urgency with which they hoped to wed — at the time, aiming for the next few months.
(May is, in fact, the literal next month.)
Previously, the two were reportedly considering marrying at the White House, even if the gauche ballroom project is long from completion (and will hopefully never be finished).
However, they reportedly backed out of a lavish wedding at the nation’s capitol in light of the father of the groom starting a war and making the already dismal economy even worse. (It’s unclear why unpopularity would be a deterrent for the son and not the father, but Page Six did not explain that.)
The bridal shower was just last month
In April, Anderson’s bridal shower went off at Mar-a-Lago with an Enchanted Garden motif.
Multiple future in-laws, including Ivanka and Tiffany Trump, were in attendance.
Even Kai Trump, Don Jr.’s daughter who has begun to build a brand on social media, was part of the gathering.
Many others in attendance — Yaz Hernandez, Amy Phelan, and Audrey Gruss, Daphne Oz, Dina Powell McCormick, Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger, Andrea Wynn, and Amy Baier — are less well known.
However, it’s important to keep written records of the Trump family’s associates. And, of course, being part of the bridal shower makes attending the wedding seem pretty likely.
Don Jr. popped the question in December 13 — at Camp David, of course.
It is only fitting that the proposal itself took place on the property of the American taxpayer.
Don Jr. has taken a less active role in his father’s regime this time around, yet has reaped plenty of benefits and received government contracts.
Countless Americans wonder if we will ever be able to recover the money robbed from the US Treasury — by Trump allies, by unhinged projects around DC and beyond. It’s small potatoes beside the executions of US citizens in the streets, the Iran war, and the construction of concentration camps. But yes, it still matters.
Anyway, wedding’s reportedly this weekend. Frankly, it’s a surprise that Trump himself didn’t leak the wedding date. Did they not tell him in order to keep it quiet? Or did they tell him and he just forgot?

Royal irony alert!
One of Meghan Markle’s humanitarian projects is receiving the wrong kind of attention this week, as critics have accused the duchess of using AI to write a speech in which she warns of the dangers of AI.
Curbing online harassment has long been a cause dear to Meghan’s heart, and over the weekend, she traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to attend the unveiling of the Lost Screen Memorial, honoring children who lost their lives after being bullied online.
“Children today are being shaped by systems designed to capture attention at any cost: relentless algorithms, exploitative engagement, and endless exposure to harmful content that they are not seeking out,” Meghan told the crowd (via Radar Online), adding:
“Each name belonged to a child who was loved beyond measure. A child whose laughter once filled a kitchen.
“Whose shoes once waited by a front door. Whose future once felt limitless. Now their faces ask the world questions we can no longer avoid.
“We are seeing new forms of harm emerge faster than our systems are prepared to respond, affecting children at an alarming scale and across borders.”
The Duchess of Sussex concluded her remarks by reminding the audience that destructive advances in technology need not be regarded as inevitable:
“But these outcomes are not inevitable, and prevention begins with one simple principle: children must be safe by design, not safe by chance.
“Because danger now travels globally — instantly, invisibly, intimately. And our protections must do the same.”
Critics were quick to run Meghan’s remarks through AI detection software, with many concluding that Meghan had help in writing her speech:
“There’s been a flood of commentary on forums from people insisting they ran parts of Meghan’s address through AI detection systems like ChatGPT analyzers and other large language model tools because the wording felt unusually polished, repetitive and rhythmically structured,” a source twlls Radar, adding:
“Some critics are convinced it carried the hallmarks of AI-assisted drafting, whether that came directly from Meghan herself or from advisers helping craft the speech.
“What many people find deeply ironic is that the entire appearance centered on warning about the dangers of rapidly evolving technology and artificial intelligence potentially harming society, while critics are now accusing the speech itself of sounding algorithmically generated. Fairly or unfairly, that contradiction has become a major talking point online.”
A different source noted that Meghan didn’t gain fame as a speechwriter.
Therefore, she likely had some help composing her remarks, and somewhere along the line, a digital assistant may have played a role:
“It would be extremely unusual for somebody in Meghan’s position to prepare an address like this entirely alone, especially for a global event involving the WHO,” said the second insider, adding:
“Most public figures now use some degree of technological assistance during drafting, whether that means speechwriting software, AI-assisted editing tools or communications teams refining language for impact and clarity.”
“The controversy probably says as much about public suspicion toward AI as it does about Meghan herself. But because she specifically highlighted the risks posed by artificial intelligence during the speech, critics immediately seized on the possibility that similar tools may have helped shape the message she delivered.
In all likelihood, we’re entering an age in which every competent piece of writing will be subjected suspicion of AI use.
So did Meghan have any help drafting her remarks? It’s entirely possible. But that doesn’t make the sentiment behind them any less sincere.
